I haven't gone to a nail salon in years so I thought I would treat myself since I was down the shore. I saw there were good reviews for this place so I gave it a shot. I saw that the price was higher than most places so I expected good service and a nice manicure. I was very disappointed! In general, I do like Summer Breeze. I've been coming for years, even when I would just come down for a weekend. It's usually easy to get an appointment and you can do it right on your phone. However, I do feel like they are starting to rush some of the services. I used to do an express pedicure but lately I've been doing the regular pedicure. (About $10 more and supposed to be about 40 minutes vs the 30 of the express). The last 3 times, I've paid for a regular pedicure, it hasn't lasted longer than 30 minutes. (I've actually timed it from when I actually sit in the pedicure chair to when they move me to the drying station). And that's with the exfoliating and lotion massage add ons. The app does say it's supposed to be 40 minutes but can be more or less time (but it is ALWAYS less than 40 minutes) When I first started coming, a pedicure would always last a minimum of 40-45 minutes but now everything is rushed into a lesser time frame. They still did a good job but I don't think it's worth paying the extra to get the regular pedicure since you arent getting any additional time. Getting my nails done is a treat and one of the few things I do for myself and I like feeling pampered. Next time, I will probably just opt for the express pedi and save the cash. read more

Great nail color selections. The nail techs really spend the time to make sure your nails are perfect. It's a little pricey but 100% worth it. The nail techs are so so nice. I love going here. they were very nice but I am not someone who likes to get color because it damages my nails (personally). but it was pretty clear since I didn't do color I got absolutely 0% of the treatment. No soaking my nails, no oil/lotion/massage, no asking me the shape or length. they just tore into my bone dry nails all the way to below my skin line. I am pretty pissed, it literally all happened so fast I didn't get to process what they were doing. My favorite nail salon in Avalon. The location is very new looking and its always clean. They also have massage pedicure chairs which is always a plus! It doesn't reek of acetone like other nail salons. Prices are also very reasonable. I would recommend making a reservation as they are almost always busy, especially on the weekends. It is the shore! This place used to have such great service, but it has sadly gone downhill. I believe they have succumbed to the same mindset as the other local nail salons: low competition=mediocre service. They have a sign-in sheet at the front desk but it seems to hold very little meaning. All in all, there's nothing that sets them apart from other nail salons on the island anymore. Express Pedi at $22 is worth it. Wished the staff were a bit more personal. No talking at all. Put you under dryers and forgotten. No one came to spray toes or remove toe separators. Just left there. I stood up after 30 min removed and sprayed myself. My two daughters also came and were both rushed through. We had an appointment and they had to wait for 20 min before being brought in. YAY OH YAY OH YAY!!!! My favorite and BEST nail salon in Avalon did not disappear! They only moved down the street.... Did NOT disappoint this morning at their new location. Walked in at 930 am on a Saturday. They open at 900 am - MAKE AN APPOINTMENT so you are guaranteed your time. It's 1030 am now and it's busy . They're open year round - if you are only here for a weekend - make an appointment or get here first thing in the morning. Rainy days are always busy, too, but this place is worth it!! Excellent value - my pedis don't chip they only grow out - and the prices are spot on. I can't review manis because I don't get them - but staff is A++++ as always. Anything you don't like? Let them know as soon as it's happened and it's fixed immediately. Great customer service! Pricing is clearly posted everywhere (different polishes have upcharges if you are into that sort of thing) and there is LITERALLY a chart of what comes with each level of pedi. (I'm an Express girl - $22 is cheaper than where I would go in Exton or Downingtown, and you get more bang for your buck.) This is a family business that has been serving Avalon for almost ten years. I was excited to see that Summer Breeze has moved across the street from their previous location. You really can't beat the Express Pedi deal -- $22 for essentially a full pedi. The only service missing from the express version is the lotion/massage. You're still getting a full soak, nail treatment, and hot towels. However, the full pedi at $30 isn't a bad deal either. Service was quick (got a same-day appt) and friendly. This is a family-owned business from Cape May, and all of the technicians are professional and careful to do a nice job. The day of, I changed it to four girls and they were so accommodating. We had a great morning chatting and hanging out and everyone loved their nails! Me, being the bride, thought I was going to have to be picky and it was the amazing nail tech that was picky ( in a great way). She was giving me a gel French manicure and re-did the white lines a few times to make sure they were absolutely perfect for my big day! My friend and I visited on Monday 5/26. We called around 11am to make two appointments for noon. We arrived a little early and were seen right away. Tony and David were our technicians and they were both excellent. We each got a polish change on our toes and a gel manicure (my friend's involved a soak off, which they did while she had her toe polish change). Despite being just a polish change, we both had an excellent shaping and cuticle clean up and the polish was absolutely perfect. Tony even helped me find another color to layer over what I had picked out when he saw I wasn't in love with the color I had chosen. Our gel manicures are absolutely perfect and they were both so meticulously done. Tony even did a little design on my ring finger! It is probably the best gel manicure I've ever had. I SO wanted to like this place. However, the customer service is LACKING. I called ahead, and they told me to come in at 130, and didn't take my name. I came in at 125, and had to wait until 2pm because they took TWO walk-ins before me! They called all 3 of us back at the same time, but left me to "soak" while the other girls were attended to immediately. This might have even been ok, but I had to ask multiple times "how long". Hard to walk out when your feet are in water - nice tactic. As for the pedicure itself...not bad. I use vinylux and they upcharge for this. The color selection was small and seemed a bit older. Maybe I'm just in a mood because I'm now late (I'm a mom, my baby was napping, so I try to sneak out during that time). My husband is so going to give me crap. Pedicures are a treat for the feet, and can be so much more when done well. For the price of this one, I'm left feeling meh. read more

Was very disappointed in the lack of customer care throughout this process. My friend is going tomorrow -- hopefully my experience is unique, but I am not optimistic.
