I went in without an appointment for a gel manicure and pedicure and am very satisfied. Despite being shorthanded, they took me right away. Nicki (sp?) took very good care of me - even paying special attention to a wonky nail, and making a color suggestion that saved me from selecting a color I really didn't want. It was not inexpensive, but nothing in Avalon is. And they take cards and Venmo, so very convenient. read more

Everyone is very nice here and they do a very detailed job. My gel manicure lasted a solid two weeks and the same for my pedicure. They are a little less busy than other salons in the area so in my experience have been more accommodating with last minute appointments and walk ins. It is a bit overcrowded due to limited space but it is my go to salon in avalon! read more

Was so pleased to find a nail salon in Avalon that reminds me of the nail salons that I go to in Philly. I was afraid that I was going to have to pay an arm and a leg for a mani / pedi in Avalon since it is a resort area, but Avalon nails was surprisingly quick and affordable. They were able to accommodate me at 9:00 AM on a Saturday morning without an appointment which was great. The young girl who did my nails helped me to pick out a color that I liked and even let me try the colors on my nails prior to making a final decision. I appreciated her doing that since the color looked different on my actual nail then it did on the sample nail. I did gel on my hands and she helped me to find a matching regular nail polish for my toes. I was very pleased with the way that they turned out and I was in and out of there in an hour. read more

Used to like this place, but last time I got my dip nails done here was awful. First two of my nails cracked within 5 days of having them (never had a dip nail crack down the middle before) then I got them fixed and she was nice about it but now they all have cracks in them. Been getting dip nails for years and never had this problem before. And charged me $10 extra for French?? Pretty bummed read more

Calling ahead was definitely a good idea. I was taken as soon as I walked in the door, before a handful of other walk-ins who were waiting in line. Pedi was good, but no frills. The tech was rushing (I don't blame her), but it annoys me when you pay for a pedicure, and the tech doesn't even look at your feet when it comes time for the exfoliation part. Like they get out the callus remover and just go on auto-pilot, not even checking for where your actual calluses may be. She was done in less than 20 minutes, and I was off to the dryer. RUN AWAY! Horrible! SO Dirty! Rude, NASTY manager! I went here because the nail salon i went to for 20 years in Avalon is no longer there. THAT salon was so clean and so friendly. When i walked in to this salon, the manager was on her phone and peeling and eating fruits onto a paper towel at the FRONT DESK...with the juices going everywhere! That was Red Flag #1 I then asked to use the rest room and was surprised to see how dirty it was...especially the presence of a large plastic Wawa cup with caked dirt inside of it on the sink. When i brought the cup out to the manager, she yelled at me and said. NO! THAT CUP STAY THERE! That was Red Flag #2. When i placed my feet into the pedicure water, the water was very cool, so i asked the boy to make the water hotter, which he had a very hard time doing, both because of a language barrier and the yelling from the manager. The water never even became warm. That was Red Flag #3. When i went to get my gel manicure and the girl asked me to put my hands inside the gel lights, the surface inside was all crusty, and there were bits of foot on the ledge on the outside. When i told the girl this, she told the manager, and the manager came over yelling, "NO, NO! NOT DIRTY! EVERYTHING IN THERE FINE!!" Red Flag #4 One of the girls was wearing a sweatshirt over shorts so short and so tight that when she sat down to give a pedicure to the customer next to me, you could see everything she had ! So gross! Red Flag #5 And finally, they were ALL, with the exception of the young boy, ON THEIR PHONES, ALL THE TIME. There was no conversation or eye contact with the customers, As soon as the girls finished a task, they would pick their phone back up. The manager NEVER PUT HER PHONE DOWN. Worst mani pedi I have ever had. To begin with, listed 9 am as opening time online, the staff strolled I'm at 9:35 to open up. They put a young kid working on my pedicure, he literally cut my toe and then filed my toe nails to square points, did not listen to any of the requests I made. My manicure was just as bad. The woman questioned the color I chose three times with an attitude. Then left polish all over my cuticles. No air conditioning in a beach town. Never ever going there again. Today I walked out out Avalon Nails without my gel manicure completed. What a terrible experience I endured ! I made an appointment first thing. There were several technicians and only one other customer. During my gel nail removal my female tech takes a face time as I wait for her to start the process. Finally she starts. If that wasn't bad enough a woman comes over to her who I assume is her boss and starts yelling at her. The two women argue as I sit there astonished waiting for someone to please do my nails. This continues for three or four minutes.. When the argument is finally over the technician continues to mumble and ramble on as she is clearly distressed. I ask another technician if she could please finish the job since the woman doing my nails is clearly distressed. She laughed at me. She thought it was funny that the two women were arguing. I informed the technician that I no longer want my nails done and after she removes the gel I'm leaving. They charge me $10 and I leave. I have never written a negative review for anything before but this behavior was so bad and disrespectful that I felt that it needed to be reported. Shame on you Avalon Nails. I hope other customers are not treated in the same manner. read more

A manager saw this but no apology was made and when I called 2 days later, they offered a free gel mani but why would I go there again? I hadn't been to Avalon Nails in about 8 years, and when I returned I was seriously underwhelmed. I used to be a frequent customer during the summers when I was 14,15, and 16, however I will not return. The girl who did my nails barely pushed back my cuticles, and my manicure grew out very quickly as a result. Furthermore the pedicure station looked dirty, paint is peeling off the walls and the floor looked unswept. It is disappointing to Avalon Nails go downhill. read more

Over the years have tried and tried again to give them a chance to do a decent job. Went twice this summer, and will NEVER go back. They did dip on my daughter and it was GONE in 2 days! I can get 3 weeks out of dip from my salon at home. To pay $35 and have it fall off almost the next day is ridiculous. Went back for Gel for her, and almost every nail is bare a day or two later. They use CRAPPY PRODUCTS and they also cut and bruised my daughter's cuticle badly. Their tools are filthy, and the place is just gross. I'm going to find another place that does a relatively decent job. Don't waste your money because of the convenience- you'll end up spending more because you'll have to go back to get your nails redone. read more

I have been to Avalon nails in the past and don't remember it being quite so bad. I had a gel manicure that left me with lumps and one of the gel nails peeled off 2 hours later on account of it being so thick. A friend had her nails painted and it had to be fixed, although still looked like something I could've painted myself (paint on the cuticles, etc). Now I know why this place had availability when the other nail salon in Avalon was booked. Lesson learned! read more

The nail tech was rough with the cuticle cutter. They use an electric sander on multiple clients. After I let the tech know it hurt several other nail techs were staring and talking amongst themselves in their native language. A friend I was with was having her gel removed while she was getting a pedicure. She asked the tech if they could take it off as it had been sitting for 15 minutes and was starting to burn. The tech stated she typically leaves it on until end of pedicure. My friend said it was burning so the girl removed it- the gel came right off so clearly it was done. A good place to go if you are in a hurry and want mediocre service and results. read more

This establishment has changed hands at least 3 times over the past few years. I have patronized this place 6 or 7 times. Currently, it is not well maintained. The polish bottles have polish all over the necks. There are little blotches of polish on the stations. The instruments are not cleaned between customers or even put in the Barbicide solution. The foot baths are cleaned with denture cleaner. Is this proper procedure? The operators were in a rush even though there were no customers waiting. I felt as if my manicurist gave my cuticles "a lick and a promise." She basically waved the clippers over my cuticles. My daughter was stabbed twice during her pedicure and the operator drew blood.
