Pamper Me in Rio Grande provided the opposite of pampering and simply horrific customer service. I walked in requesting a mani/pedi (no gel), was told to come back in an hour and, as I exited, a woman told me they could accomodate me. Another woman sat me down for a mani first - fine - put my fingers in water for ten minutes. Then, when she saw a regular, abandoned me and treated her favored customer. I left and will not return. This estsblishment does not favor customer service or pampering - it is a two-bit, scammy place. I then went to Rio Nails, close by, and received professional and terrific service. Now don't get me wrong, my nails were beautiful, exactly what I asked for. I got acrylics for an event I had to go too but I work in food service so eventually I would have to take them off due too so much physical work and lifting without it hurting and bending nails. Thats not the complaint. When I went to soak off my nails with 100% acetone I come to find out they used MMA monomer on my nails, Instead of an easy 15-20 minute soak off and them scraping right off it turned into a 2 hour long scraping gooey and extremely sticky acrylic mess and drilling my nails because of how fast they kept drying out and it started becoming extremely painful my hands were covered in it making it hard to move them I eventually had to scrub my hands with steel wool to even gain a little mobility back because of how much product was covered in my hands from a single soak, and it would dry so quickly it was be nearly impossible to pull apart. The lady who did my service AMAZING she got my nails down to the inspiration photo but using products that are not made for this is a big no no for me, I still have so much acrylic left on my nails but I'm at the point I'm just going to have to let my nails naturally grow them out which will be long and painful when it's time to trim them. I am new in the area & was in need of a nail salon. I tried a recommended one in Wildwood Crest. I did not care to return as it was a negative experience with uneven & chipped nails the very next day. I had passed Pamper Me Nail Salon in Rio Grande & pulled over on a whim. Once parked, I checked its Yelp reviews. They had four stars. I always check out the low star reviews to see if the complaints are reasonable (as not every customer is). I noticed that the owner cared enough to not only also check reviews out but respond as well. So I rolled the dice & went in to inquire about the possibility of a walk in service. I entered the establishment & inquired if they took walk ins. The receptionist was a young lady who was very pleasant. She said they could take me & made me feel welcome even though I didn't even have an appointment. I then was directed to a massage chair where Tram gave me a pedicure. She made sure to put a plastic liner in my basin & inquired up front my preferred water temperature. She then proceeded to give me an excellent & detailed focused service. The treatment was going so well, I inquired if there was an opening for a refill or if I could make an appointment for one. She spoke to the receptionist while continuing to work on my feet & arranged for me to get a refill scheduled once she was done. She had another customer to address so another tech did my refill. The refill tech was Mike. He was also detail oriented & seemed to take pride in the end product. He actually took time to look at my fingers from different angles to ensure quality. While there I observed a customer getting a color recommendation from her tech. She was obviously a repeat customer as she commented that the tech always picked a great color for her. I also observed a 1st time customer walk in & being assisted by the receptionist. I know she had never been there as she was a walk in & was there regarding a horrible dip she had at another salon. The receptionist looked at her nails listened to her complaints, assisted her in finding a particular color she wanted & got her set up with a tech to address her needs. The salon was clean, had a wide assortment of colors (although I brought my own) & all the employees were working diligently. Needless to say, I left with both my fingers & toes looking fantastic! I will definitely be returning & making an appointment to ensure I can get service. I hope others give them a try! All the employees were hard working, skilled & detail oriented. I had gel nails done here on Monday aug 1. On Wednesday aug 3 I stopped back in to see if they could fix my nails, as several fingers gel polish completely peeled off. I was told by the guy there that he didn't have time to fix them. I said "okay, can I make appointment?" I made the appointment for the only other time I would be in Rio grande, aug 15. I am only here on certain days for a class. I made the appointment for 530. My appointment day and time till around so I go in and sign in. I said "i am here for my 530 appt to have my nails fixed" (redone at this point). The guy then walked away to give someone a pedicure. I stood at the desk quietly while being totally ignored for 30 minutes. Another woman walks in for her 6pm appointment. They take her right back for her nails. I said "excuse me, I have been standing here since 530 for my appointment." To which he replied "I don't believe you." I was like "huh? Everyone in this salon hs seen me standing here for the past 45 min". He told me I cam on the wrong date, and o which I replied "no, I wouldn't have made it for any other day, because I am not in Rio grande on those days." After him yelling about me coming the wrong day and repeatedly asking if I was going to pay, and telling me never to go back there again, I had enough of the disrespect and told them to forget it. I left and another customer was outside and said she couldn't believe how they were acting about having to fix my nails. I paid $35 for a gel manicure that lasted no more than 2.5 days before nails began peeling off in one piece, as they were done so thickly. I would advise everyone to go elsewhere that doesn't call customers liars and make them standing there waiting on spite. Never again. I went to Pamper Me today for the first time and had the BEST experience. Rio did my refill and pedi. My nails are long and I'm fastidious about how they look. Rio did a phenomenal job. I am so pleased. He is nice, honest, professional and knows his stuff! The Spa itself is very clean and modern. All of the staff is friendly and accommodating. My friend and I went in for a manicure and pedicure. The people were very nice and the vibes were cool and such but everything was so painful. The water was scorching hot. I'm talking I pulled my feet out and they were bright red. Not just for me but my friend as well. I told the guy it was too hot and so did she but it he barely fixed it. Definitely should work on that please. Also, I get that cutting the cuticle is necessary but they were cutting into our actual skin very aggressively. They also weren't very patient. I made an appointment for 11:00 AM and my technician did not begin my appointment until 11:40. When I inquired if a 35 minute wait was common when you have an appointment, I was told that my technician was just pulling up to the salon and was running late. I wish I was told that earlier or when I called for the appointment.. Meanwhile, my technician certainly didn't seem as though he was late as he strolled in with a coffee from Wawa and showed no sense of urgency to get started. Another overall critique is that generally speaking spa pedicures are insanely expensive and not the same pedicure process as NY pedicures. Pamper me does not wrap legs in hot towels with the mask. Instead they rub the mask on and then quickly wash it off. The calls treatment only come with the $65 spa pedi, where in NY it comes standard with every spa Pedi. Not only that, but they don't wrap feet with callus treatment and Saran Wrap for a short time to activate it. They simply put it in a pumice stone and rub.... Not as effective at all. Also, your leg massage for a spa pedicure is the same amount of time as a regular pedi .... In NY a 50 dollar pedi comes with callus treatment and 10 minute massage. A 60 dollar pedi comes with callus's and 15 minutes pedi. And $70 is a 20 minute massage. Overall, lower and middle township pedicures are not at all worth the price. I'll just be sure to get my spa pedís in westcHester county , NY before coming down. I'm writing in response to Linda's response .... I'm not sure why you came at me so hard. Many other reviews spoke of terrible service as far as the job your technicians did and you were very gracious. My review actually spoke kindly of the great job your technician did and your daughter was amazing - gracious beautiful and handling it all...but the theme of your reviews fall into three categories- scheduling issues, bad job , and sometimes, rude technicians. That's the one I would fix quickly... the other two issues can be resolved easily . I see here that my edited review did not post , so I'm sorry if you didn't see the positive aspects of my visit. I appreciate the dedication that they showed for me. I called yesterday to make an appointment, they said they would call back to help me out. They called back at 9:57pm and I had an appointment for 8:45 the next morning. There was only one lady working and she opened early for the few appointments they had. She was already in the middle of a pedi but she paused to do my brows. She did a fantastic job on my eye brows and I appreciate her going in early and taking care of my chewbacca brows. Thank You! I went here for a regular mani and pedi and the women who did my nails was absolutely AWFUL. First the pedi was painful as she was filing my skin on the top of my toes not my nails and then she was talking on her phone not paying attention to what she was doing at all. Then my fingernails she was cutting skin on the sides of my fingers not even my cuticles and made them bleed then the polish job was terrible it was completely rippled and my 13 yo son could've done a better job. I hate to write this review but, unfortunately I was not pleased with my time here :( I needed a full set done due to my nails going through a long tough summer working for a police department, so I was incredibly eager to get a nice set done! My time here was spent with a man who did not give me the time of day nor anything I asked for. It's the holiday season and it looks like I have throw up pink acrylic on my nails instead of anything I had imagined... you can only imagine this was incredibly disappointing! I hate leaving bad reviews, but I feel like I need to put this out there... I started using this salon last summer because they tend to offer a lot of what is "trendy" and is close to where I live, despite being a bit more expensive than I am used to. I usually get coffin shape acrylic full set/fill with gel. Never once was it ever mentioned to me that there is a ridiculous charge to have yours nails filed into a coffin shape... Even if it is a fill in!! That's right, they charge you to FILE your nails!!! I just so happened to overhear someone else talking about it while getting my nails done and my nail lady looked up at me and said "Oh I'll only charge you half.." after I questioned it!! Like that was going to make it all better? I just don't understand how they can do that and not at least disclose it if a customer asks for that! So there's that and what really drove me to write this review is EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. (sometimes my Mom would go in with me for a mani/pedi) we would walk in the door and sign in, the workers would immediately insist we go over to the pedi chairs or the nail stations before we even had a chance to pick out our colors or decide what we wanted to do. The workers would literally be grabbing your stuff out of your hand to go put it down on the table and tell you to bring the nail color swatches with you. WHY?! Why can't we take 5 minutes to look at the nail displays before we are rushed back to get started?! This last time I went by myself and I didn't know what I wanted before I went in. So I signed in and just kind of looked at the nail swatches on display for LITERALLY 2 minutes, didn't even get a chance to look at the nail polishes yet and the girl comes over and takes my stuff and tries to make me go sit down. WHAT IS THE RUSH?! You were sitting down watching tv when I walked in... Can you give me a second to decide what I want?! So she kind of backed off and then the guy came over and said he was going to "help me" pick a color... This really made me mad. So I went over and grabbed my stuff that she took and said "I don't understand why you're in such a rush, I'm not ready yet, so I'll just have to go somewhere else." and I walked out.. I went down the street and got my nails done exactly how I wanted for 1/2 the price and for 1/2 the stress.. I can understand if they were busy they might be in a rush, but there was only 1 other person in there getting her nails done. So, if you like to over pay for mediocre results, be charged to have your nails FILED and have your whole visit rushed from the second you walk in, definitely run right over to Pamper Me. Or save yourself a headache and some $$ and go somewhere else. read more

I can't give them a 1 star because I have had good experiences here. About 3 weeks ago I had an appointment at 2pm in rio grande location. I was scheduled for a pedicure and dip. I come in they tell me to pick a color and there I sat for over an hour with an appointment!!! Not once did anyone say we are running behind(that would have made a world of difference). Why make appointments then! I finally get to the pedicure bowl and one guy sits down. I inform him that I now only have time for a polish change not a pedicure. He got very irritated and next thing I know another guy was taking care of me and he was not very nice either. I got the polish change and my dip nails. The polish on my toes had areas of my nail showing (like the polish clumped together) I asked him to fix and he did. When I got home I noticed it happened on most of my toes. My nails were just ok. I understand businesses are under staffed and busy and as I said I have had prior good experiences here. To make a paying customer feel like I did that day is unexcusable. Horrible place rude people not to mention waiting 2 hours to get seen and an extra hour just sitting in the pedicure chair with freezing cold water. Nobody even came to apologize for how long they were taking or why the wouldn't come to warm up the water even a little. Had to leave after 3 hours and couldn't even get them done because there were taking more people for appointments meanwhile I had an appointment and they said someone didn't write it down.
