Customer service is non existent. Came here to get a gel mani and pedi with my girlfriend. 10 chairs, 4 people seated. I was told that since I'm not getting a service I cannot sit in a chair. No other customers waiting, and no rush of people ever busted through the doors during the whole visit. The way she did the pedicure could seriously improve. Too little for the price being paid. We shall see on the gel manicure what happens. But I can tell you what will never happen again: returning here. Poor, poor customer service. And we are here for a month with work. No thank you. This shop is so unprofessional. There was a male who was very less than kind when asking my name for the sign-in. The store was fairly empty when I went in, and technicians were seated waiting for customers. I was not very familiar with this shop, so I took time to look at prices and review my options. I was rushed by the male, who had a very disturbed look on his face. I asked for a lip wax and a deluxe Pedi. I was called back for the Pedi first, but of course, everyone knows it is the pain before the pleasure. I kindly asked if I could wait for the Pedi after the wax. The technician nodded. However, another woman who was attending to someone else yelled, No, and began screaming in a loud and squeaky tone; this has to be done first. I said nothing and gathered my belongings to walk out. Today I stopped in to Angle Nail & Spa on 48th & Chambers in CO to get a pedicure. I've been going there for about five years or so, and today I went there and I asked for a specific operator and I was told by the shop manager that it would be a two hour wait because she wouldn't be available until then. I was fine with that and then I said I would just go with who was available, After I sat there for about ten minutes the manager came to me and told me that since I requested a specific operator none of the other operators wanted to do my pedicure because I asked for a specific person. Got a pedicure today. It was $30. That was the best thing about the service. The salon looked clean in general. Nobody was particularly rude or particularly friendly. The lady was way too aggressive when trimming my cuticles. I tried to tell her but she didn't understand or chose to ignore me. Most of the products she used stunk. She did a particularly crappie job pumicing my feet. My heals are still rough which is crazy because my feet are pretty nice in general. My heals are the only area that really need scrubbing with a pumice stone or whatever. She was definitely concerned about speed, not doing a good job. This place is super rude. I needed somewhere close and quick to get a pedi. I have acrylic on my big toe from last time. So I asked to remove it. They were removing it. I have a nail phobia I hate when others cut or pull at my nails rough. So I ask to soak off always. Everywhere else does that. The lady starts with the file. So I suck it up and just do it since I'm in a rush. And then she tries to like peel it off with a nail tip that hurts so I pull my foot away. She walks off this other lady comes over all rude digs it in harder than the first so I pull my foot hard and told her I asked to soak off. She start talking shit and throws the clippers in the basket all rude. The other lady comes back same method. So I was like I'm good I'll just go. I asked for soak off. She's like well don't cut your nails short you won't have this problem. I just ignore her said I'll just go offered to pay for what little bit was done they are like just go so I left. Rudest nail place I've ever been to. Brought my mom for a late Mother's Day gift and stopped in between other events of the day. Since I had already gotten a pedicure at my usual spa, my mom had a solo pedi. This place was virtually empty. I asked the owner if I could sit in the chair next to my mom, without using the massage or anything, just to keep her company. Before I could finish asking, this bastard practically yells "NO" in my face, as he is receiving a manicure. Yet there are employees sitting in the chairs and hanging out. I showed him the transaction he said ok and started looking for the receipt that they had... Shortly after he said wait the 22nd that was 2 weeks ago.. When i walked in he asked how long it had been i simply said a week or a week in a half, he continued to tell me i had to pay $7 to 3 of my toes fixed! because i "lied" saying it was a week ago! After i paid $45 for a shellac pedicure! then added $1 fee because i used my card lol, THEN, i said im going to ask you one question then we can just not continue this conversation. I asked does shellac usually peel off in 2 weeks? he said NO! atp i knew i was experiencing Racism! Anyways , these nails came out so bad... the nail tech that attended me was in such a hurry for whatever reason & did not do the french tip correctly. She just put the color and pushed it back with alcohol to make the shape and this is the result. I do not recommend this place for nails. I've never done my pedicure here so I have nothing to say about that other than that I am very disappointed. I did not get asked for a refund, I paid $54 for this! TERRIBLE service. I doubt this placed is even licensed. Clearly unsanitary, the tech named kim did my nails and didn't even put a protective coat over the nail. This resulted in burning and pain. Went in to get a removal hoping for a refund to make up for the TERRIBLE service and nails that looked nothing like what i wanted. They didn't even use antiseptic or any type of disinfectant spray to prevent infection prior to applying the acrylic. Just raw acrylic powder straight on my nail bed. As soon as I mentioned a refund, the man at the front raised his voice and got an aggressive tone about how refunds aren't possible due to the fact that the service was already done. Ive got refunds at other salons, but whatever. I asked for a removal of my nails, all the techs continued to talk amongst each other about me, all bad things of course. Kim did the removal of my nails and she did so extremely aggressively. I had to urge her to be gentle twice, as she was ripping off the acryluc with another acrylic nail. Not gentle at all, and it was clear that she was taking her anger out in my nails. Why is it my fault that they have unsanitary procedures that result in not only pain but ugly nails? Let me tell you how I fell in love with my coworkers fuchsia nails with faded glitter. I wanted her nails. I called ahead of time to schedule with Emily, the technician my coworker always gets. The owner is clearly egotistical. He answered over the phone, cut me off a brilliant amount of times, and was not patient with my questions, my concerns, my comments and my thoughts. He smirked a hideous smirk over the phone, and that raised my head bloody high. I was livid. No one should be laughed at, especially when inquiring business. I'm paying for your amateur service, at least acknowledge that your service is amateur. I never go to nail salons to have work performed on my nails. I have high standards. I should've known better. My girl is in Mexico, so she is my personal nail technician, whom uses the best for my nails to maintain the healthiest. I decided to come in anyways to discover more -- give chances, make mistakes, get messy! Mistake 1: The nail salon does not do appointments -- everything is a walk up. whether it be a pedicure, a manicure, a new full set of nails, a rebase etc,. there are no actual appointments, and you can't request a certain technician to work with you. I waited an hour or two to get attended. The owner was not pleased that I specifically requested Emily. Finally, I was irked with the suspense, I just had to get my nails and get out. The owner was very friendly. But then he handed me over to Emily because he said, "You no like me, so Emily will take you." I felt indifferent from waiting, so I agreed. Emily was a doll, I told her about my coworker recommending me to Emily. She obviously was flattered. Mistake 2: DO NOT trust their judgement. I showed them a variety of nail galleries that seemed doable in their end, and their knowledge of nails did not impress me. For one, I requested Coffin shaped nails. This shouldn't be hard -- I'm not a professional nail artist, and know exactly how to shape a Coffin nail. I should've stopped her. I didn't, curse me for being too nice. The shape ended up being something completely different and tacky! It reminded me of a 1980's secretary with big ugly square nails who start drama. I told her the nail had to be faded, and she didn't do that. After filing, most of the glitter disappeared right off. It's $3 for maybe 5 rhinestones and $15 for a total of 10 fingernails with rhinestones. Mistake 3: SHE CUT ME THREE TIMES! my flipping finger flesh was cut by the little tool that makes extravagant noise. At first it was okay, then she cut it a second time, it burned my flesh. the third time, my thumb practically bled. I was so livid, I demanded a discount, and she wasn't happy with that. "Listen, what discount you want?! Other people charge more for this nails." Yeah, because they don't slice my fingers. They're gentle. She took off $5, which was good. My nails ended up getting a red sparkly color, and a few rhinestones, and some firework design. It took 2 hours. My fingers hurt. the chemicals used on my nails stung, and my nails feel irritated. The shape is ugly, to me, at least. They look good on camera, but very ehhh in person. $55 in the garbage. I regret it all. When she went to get it fixed, they charged her $5. She could tell as soon as they finished her nails that they were thin and when her nail broke she didn't even feel it break. It went down hill from there, each day another nail broke. My daughter paid $60 for crap. She will never go there again.
