I would highly recommend Angel Moving & Storage to anyone moving in the Greater NYC area. Honest business operator, very fast response time, polite, and professional moving team -- all at a great (maybe unbeatable) price. It was 11pm on a weeknight and I had just gotten back from a work trip, when I realized that I absolutely needed to figure out my moving situation before my lease was up that weekend. I considered U-Haul, but for my 1 bed apt with a decent amount of furniture, I needed at least the $200 10' U-Haul truck + 2-3 other people (1 to wait in the car) + a lot of painstaking effort in the summer heat if I were to DIY. To my surprise, when I requested some quotes online, Richard sent me a personal message within a couple of minutes. I called him immediately given my rush, he answered despite how late it was, and patiently listened to me rattle off all the items I had. He then sent me an itemized inventory list and a flat rate quote -- THE PRICE WAS SO LOW that I did a double take -- about $150 or more cheaper than a few other local places I asked, and cheaper than if I were to rent a truck plus hire a couple of guys for a couple hours just for the move (who a lot of times are scammers or hustlers btw if you do some research). On moving day, to my delight, he came with a 20'+ truck (big enough for 3 bedroom move). He and his guys wrapped up everything carefully and efficiently, got everything into the truck pretty fast, and moved everything into my new place without a hassle. Stay far away!!! I chose this place based off of the great reviews and made a big mistake. The morning of they were suppose to show up between 8:30-9am. At 9:10 I text Richard and asked if they were still coming and got no response. At 9:26am I text him again and still got no response so I called. When he picked up he sounded confused as if he forgot about my scheduled move and replied saying they were having issues with the truck- not sure why they didn't place a courtesy call but ok. Richard shows up around 10:40am with 1 guy, reviews my stuff and adds on a few extra bucks since I had more boxes than anticipated. Fine! The disaster starts here, It was raining the day of and so many of my boxes got wet. It wasn't a big deal to me since everything was packed very well. However, the amount of water damage I had on my sons mattress, and the level of wetness on the boxes led me to believe they had a leak on the truck. I was moving from the first floor and the truck was parked right outside. Didn't make sense that my boxes were so wet most warped. On top of this, they carelessly tossed my boxes that were labeled fragile and I had 2 boxes of broken dishes. My television also was damaged and now has what looks like thumb prints on the screen that distort the view when watching. I called Richard to tell them about the damage and he just replied " I don't know". I will never do business with them again and either should you. Horrible experience. They were late. Overcharged (remember that they are NOT charging by the hour). It doesn't matter if your furniture is smaller in size or lighter in weight than another person's. It doesn't even matter if you bought your own packing supplies, and the packing time didn't take long at all. This company gives NO discounts! It is a flat rate based on your list of items, which means you could be paying the same amount of money when your move only took 1 1/2 hours as opposed to someone else's 3-hour move. It's always tricky finding a good moving company. With the crazy rent increases that New york city landlord wants, sometimes it makes more sense to move. So I've been moving almost at least every 2 years. Angel moving provides a stress free moving experience, and I would highly recommend the company to anyone who's looking to move. Although it's a small family owned business, they seem very experienced in the business and was able to offer great advise during the free consultation when I was considering moving options and determine on which day to move ( since I overlap my apts by a week). On the day of the move, even though they were 30 mins late due to the traffic, they kept me informed the whole time. Three people showed up for the move and was able to complete the move in less than 3 hours. They even helped me pack my kitchen because I ran out of boxes ( totally not prepared for my own move. Thank God they were there to help.) They moved everything with extra carefulness. Big piece furniture like couch and bed were wrapped. (based on my previous moving experience, I was expecting minor damages, but everything got delivered to my new place in perfect condition ) I inquired a few quotes before deciding which mover to use, while their price is comparable to most of the moving companies, I personally feel that the service is on a completely different level. I am so happy I ended up using them. Also, I wasn't surprised by any additional charges on the day of the move. Horrible experience. He came late and started to complain about he was in hurry and there were 3 chairs we forgot to mention before. We asked him to help us move the chairs instead of the luggage cases(which were all mentioned before) and we could take these luggages on our own. He rejected us with very provocative words. we moved last August. We gave Richard over 30% tip because he asked, begged, bullied, pleaded. (He said he would share the tip with the guys but now, I am beginning to think we should have tipped the guys directly). They broke so many things in the boxes we packed which never happened. (I moved from California before). Richard must have hired some guys from Home depot or something: totally inexperienced men. They moved 4 blocks and damaged our furniture. Thank you Angel Moving! It was referred by one of my friends. It is a family business. The owner personally came over to my house for an initial screening and gave a quote. We had some big and heavy pieces . My mom was worried about how they could move / dissemble the large Asian wooden furnitures. The owner shared his experiences and provided professional opinions. My family was very happy with that. Also I compared the quote with 2 other companies and it was the best rate without any negotiation. On the day of moving, they arrived early and waited for us. 4 ppl came , the owner , owner's son (he was kinda cute) and 2 other guys. They moved everything with extra carefulness. They were all every nice and we saw they were moving like they were doing it for their own house. We really appreciate that. They moved and finished little earlier than expected so that left time for us to unpack and clean. Ooo one more thing was, we had a large and heavy table stored at a storage and the storage expired the day before moving. It was quite headache for us to find a place to leave over night. They increased their fee from $240 to $340 during moving, saying that i have more stuff than they expected. If i refuse to pay the extra, they will refuse to move. They are also very very rude to me, even after i paid them the extra and agreed to give 15% tips. They didn't ask me a full list of lugguges to move, so i listed all the big furnitures, and all my stuff only takes half of their truck, so it's definitely not that much. Well, ok, i have few more extra boxes, i pay you more, i can live with that. But they keep insulting me, saying "I'm teaching you a lesson." This is what i simply cannot tolerant. read more

My roommates and I requested Angel Moving & Storage's moving service a month ago and I have to say I'm really satisfied. I had a bed which the other companies told me is very hard to assemble, but Angel set it up in less than 5mins. They say they sometimes work with IKEA, so they know how to assemble these furnitures properly. The staff were polite and worked effectively. The price was very reasonable, too. We (3 people) were charged about 680 dollars including tips. If I'm to move again, I'll probably consider choosing Angel again. read more

He was moving apartments within the same building and wanted everything to be moved and put back into place in the new apartment on the same day. After read/hear all the bad experiences my friends had with moving company such as no show; increase price on the moving day; all rushing and no care, etc. I become very skeptical come to picking moving company, and then my friend recommended Angel Moving. The moving companies I called before just asked me how big the apt and where are you moving to, and they gave will give you a quote on total fee or hourly rate (how accurate could this be? No wonder they will always ask for more money on the moving day!!). The owner of Angle moving actually said he want to come to my place and see what I have to move before he can provide me a quote. We made an appointment and I got my quote in 15 mins and that's the money I ended up paying even I told the owner subsequently need him to make an additional stop to pick up my wife's drawer. Mom picked a moving day according to the lunar calendar instead of weather.com, and of course, it is a raining day! The team (5 people in total) showed up on time and they have not rushed anything even the owner told me they had another appointment during the afternoon. All furniture are disassembled and wrapped before they are moved out. The moving did not finish until all items has been reassembled and put into the place I wanted. I won't say the moving is hassle free, but Angle Moving definitely did they part to make my day much less miserable, thank you very much! read more

I recently helped my elderly parents downsize from their house of 53 years to a 2 bedroom apartment and Richard and his crew were tremendous! They were professional, efficient, and kind. Richard came by and offered a very reasonable estimate but then after they packed us up, he updated the estimate to reflect supplies actually used and saved us a few hundred dollars. Moving is stressful at any age, but at 94 and 83, my parents were particularly stressed. I first encountered Angel Moving and Storage when someone who bought a used couch from me on Craig's List used them to move the couch. I noticed that they handled it with respect and were careful to avoid any damage to the rest of the apartment when moving it out, and so I decided to use them for my own move, which I was preparing for. I packed my own cartons, so cannot vouch for their ability to pack up an apartment, but they were flexible on schedule, reasonably priced, and met my co-op's requirements for insurance and move-out times. Communication was good throughout the process and they were able to meet my deadline, which came up at the last minute. I ended up using their storage for my boxes while my current apartment is on the market and expect to use them when I move out as well. read more

Angel Moving was as professional as a moving company can be. Great communication with the owner Richard prior to the move. The price is unbeatable in the NYC area. Richard kept us updated about the traffic and still arrived promptly due to our building's time restraints on the elevator. There were a total of three guys including Richard himself. They wrapped fragile furniture such as TV and sofa with thick liners and were able to move the massive furniture​ in a timely fashion. UPDATE TO MY FIRST REVIEW: Each day when I look for certain items, I remember that these movers combed my house for designer leather items; i.e., full length lamb leather jackets, vests, pants, shoes, bags and gloves, in addition to maxi dresses, designer clothes, unopened designer fragrances, cosmetics, new cookware, tens of thousands of dollars of vintage costume jewelry and real jewelry containing precious gemstones which were in SEALED, MARKED cartons that they opened and helped themselves to. They literally "shopped" my home for brand new cookware, a brand new Waterford pitcher, unopened boxes of lingerie, silk robes, wall decor, signed lithographs, etc. They damaged expensive craft items and took 2 tool chests filled with a collection of tools and other items. Moreover, a lifetime of irreplacable photographs and documents were disposed of despite my giving them careful instructions. When I told the owner that they did not follow my instructions because they did not understand English, he told me I was a racist. Furthermore, a few days after the move I called Richard to report damage to my dining room china hutch and bedroom furniture. He had the audacity to say that I caused the damage. Before they removed these items from my home, they were in pristine condition and the damage was visible where they crammed the items in their truck. He told me that they were only liable for $.60/pound. His mission statement claims "white glove service", but they certainly did not take any care packing or loading or unloading. This entire process left me emotionally and financially drained. To this day it makes me I'll when I think of the emotional distress he caused and that he tried to turn it around and made it sound as though it was my fault entirely. If I could give this rating a minus 10*, it would still be too much. It is obvious that this business is one that does not care about anything except grossly overcharging high rates and egregious storage fees. I URGE you do NOT hire Angel Moving & Storage as they do not not live up to their claims. Richard will use any harmful and abusive tactic to wear you down while he looks you straight in the eyes and wore me down to tears on 4 occasions the night of the move. He has no conscience or business ethic as long as he makes sure he gets paid before the entire job is completed, yet I have been living with the consequences and suffering emotional and financial, as previously stated. If these reviews do not deter you from hiring these movers, YOU will have no one to blame when he does this to you. A word to the wise is sufficient! read more
