The stuff was extremely heavy, including multiple pieces of old furniture and an old player piano. It may seem weird to sound so enthusiastic about a furniture removal service, but our experience with Scrap-It was truly fantastic! We'd actually gotten a couple of quotes from other junk removal companies and was going to schedule a pick-up with one of them when I came across Scrap-It; I reached out on a whim because I saw that it's a woman-run company that tries to upcycle items. I reached out and received a very reasonable estimate within a couple of hours; within another hour - I had a pick-up slot set up for 3 days later (they were happy to come out even earlier but we weren't ready!). The team arrived on time (properly masked up, which bears mention in these covid-ridden times) and had taken away the two pieces of furniture in under 10 minutes. They were very careful with the furniture and respectful of the building as well which we appreciated. The best! I had a large fridge that broke and it was too big to take down a narrow stairway in an old Brooklyn brownstone. They ended up cutting fridge in half, safely disconnected it from the water line, and got it down the stairwell with no problem/no damage or scuffs to anything.
