Chili coconut with habanero Tajín rim 4. Blood orange with clementine cinnamon sugar rim My favorites were the guava and chili coconut. The guava margarita had a bold, authentic fruit flavor, while the chili coconut brought a great kick--spicy drink with a spicy rim (double spicy, in the best way). The happy hour tacos ($4 each) were generously filled and served on corn tortillas. We tried braised beef, pork carnita and crispy fish . Everything tasted fresh and satisfying. I came here the other day for lunch during the happy hour and had a great experience! I ended up trying beef, chicken and pork tacos all of them tasted great I just wish they would have some toppings like cheese or salsa on them but you can add those on yourself for an extra charge. I also tried a few different margarita flavours and all of them tasted delicious but had so much ice I had to take some out as to not let my drink get watered down. My server was very attentive but it did seem like they only had about 3 servers for the entire restaurant so it did take him a while to get to the table since he was doing everything in the section alone. Always such a vibe here. The food itself isn't amazing, but the guac absolutely hits every single time. Tacos are pretty mid if I'm being honest, but not horrible, and for the price you really can't complain. Drinks are cheap, which makes it perfect for a night out. The main star of the show is the atmosphere. It's always so lively! Especially because the patio is on King Street, there's always something going on. The service is also consistently great. Highly recommend coming here if you're looking for a cheap bite and something light. 3 taco set: Got 3 different type of tacos the fish, the pork and the beef. The fish one was a bit average but the pork and beef were delicious. Surprisingly decent portions for a happy hour special. The only downside they don't come with the extra sauces you have to pay extra like $0.50 for additional sauces like sour cream, red salsa etc and I opted for the green salsa. Now as for the food, we were a big party so we all ordered individual things to eat as well as some apps to share. We ordered the chips and guacamole, which in my opinion were pretty mid. I would say I prefer my homemade guacamole or store bought over the ones here respectfully. I mostly visit during happy hour. It runs from 3-5pm and 10pm-12am daily. Half price margs and tacos. Margs used to be $6 but is now $7. Tacos used to be $3 but now is $4. Many flavours of margaritas to choose from including strawberry, mango, original, chilli coconut (my fave) and more. They've also got lots of tacos flavours including fish, beef, chorizo and mushrooms. The best is the fish taco hands down. Paired with the spicy mayo is just *chefs kiss* The tequila shots are also half off if you're feeling adventurous or perhaps just another Tuesday afternoon (it's 5 o clock somewhere right?) The hostess and server friendly, and filled us in about what items are most popular like the tableside guacamole. We ended up getting two different margaritas. One was the strawberry one and one was the guava one. They were both nice but they aren't cocktails and I'm going to be fantasizing about later. We didn't try any of the food, so maybe it will go back another time but from what I've read of other reviews, it doesn't sound like it's fantasy worthy. I came here for a Birthday, and I have to say I was disappointed in a variety of ways. As seen in the photo, our food was not only visibly burned, but it was charred. It looked burnt and also tasted burnt but was still brought out and served to us.. We ate around it but were disappointed nonetheless. Then came dessert, we ordered churros for the birthday girl and they came extra burnt and hard as rocks. After a 12 hour car ride from Maryland in the USA, I wanted to have tacos at my friend's favorite taco place. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a woman name Mel, who was accommodating us with a table. She stated she recognized my friend, who is a Toronto native, and greeted him as the "turn up guy"... my friend looked confused by the statement, but greeted her back. Her initial reaction to us wanting to sit outside was led with a direct redirection to the indoors due to our "group size". there is 3 of us. We obliged with her seating suggestion, and were promptly seated inside next to a couple. Unfortunately we felt as if the server and bartender Mel were insinuating that our group of 3 were heavily intoxicated during our dinner and had plans to continue to drink after leaving the restaurant. As a non-native, the subtle queues were not apparent to me, but I did find the questions of what my weekend plans are, what I have in my trunk to drink, and where I was going after this place, extremely invasive. I told my friend I want to leave because of the line of questioning we were subjected to while eating, from multiple members of the staff. We asked the waiter for our check, he took about 10 minutes to return with the check. during that time, we were approached by Mel again, at the table. She asked what we were doing once we leave the restaurant. I stated that I am nearly 40 years old and I am tired from my long drive, so we're returning to our hotel to rest. She began to insist that we were going to drink at some other location, after all 3 of us repeated twice that we'd be returning to our hotel. It felt strange and disingenuous. I felt as if there was an interrogation being conducted, and I did not like the food enough to continue entertaining the moment. We paid, and removed ourselves from the establishment, even though I planned to have another drink while I ate my tacos. Even though our waiter offered us doubles, the bartender stated she did not give us doubles because we have liquor in our trunk. I just drove across the US/CN border to enjoy Carnaval, not to be considered an alcoholic by a woman I just met, only to find out my friend barely knew her either. read more

We also ordered the skirt steak with risotto and veggies. The steak was nicely marinated. The carrots would be softer. They were a bit tricky to cut. The service was ok. The best part about Anjeo are the vibes and the margaritas! Every time I've been here the drinks are always so good and the dim lighting and loud music makes for fun summer vibes. There is also outdoor seating, which is perfect for patio season. The taco's aren't the most authentic, but not bad. My favorite ones to get are always the fish and chorizo tacos. This time we tried the beef taco and it was a little dry, so I'd stick with the pork taco for sure! They do have a great happy hour option! Half price drinks and cheaper tacos. The place is super fun and nice and it feels like taking a quick trip to Mexico, music is going and it has a fun vibe to it. Other than that, as a Mexican restaurant, it was disappointing. I may have high expectations coming from SoCal but it just didn't do it, though the margaritas were good (they do have an extensive list of tequilas and so many margarita variations - I just had the classic/no flavor type but they all sounded interesting). The salsa tasting had very low to no spice in none of them. The guacamole was ok but avocados are amazing! The mushroom flautas felt like they had been microwaved and were more of a rolled taco than a traditional flauta. The molcajete de carne was very salty but the tortillas very good. They have a happy hour menu starting at 10pm to midnight where drinks $7 and they have tacos for $4. I disnt try the tacos. My favourites were the strawberry rhubarb, guava, and their feature marg which was watermelon this season. The tacos came with 4 sauces: their house hot mayo, Valentina, chula, and a green habanero sauce. In my experience, chicken tacos usually disappoint but this one was well seasoned and perfectly cooked. I also got the chorizo and the fish taco which were very good as well. Food : 3.5/5 while the food is decent, this place is only worth it during happy hour in my opinion. I've been a few times now at both locations and honestly only come back because they do have a few vegetarian options for my vegetarian friends. But given the price outside of happy hour, the tacos and portions were quite underwhelming. The chorizo taco always tasted a bit different every time I order it, sometimes a bit over seasoned maybe and even a bit cold but still tasty nonetheless. The crispy fish and pork carnitas are also solid. We got chips with an assortment of dips (guacamole, salsa, refried beans etc) which was good but portions were a bit small. My vegetarian friend did get the molcajete de carne, which did have a large shareable portion. Taste wise, it's decent, but the non vegetarian options are definitely better. Overall, I'd say if you are vegetarian or if you want a decent happy hour, this place may be worth it to you. Otherwise, there are better tacos spots in the city Service: 4/5 Very friendly servers! I love how they are all so knowledgeable about the menu and explain each of the hot sauces every time I come here. Only complaint is that it's a bit difficult to get their attention sometimes. Only high tops available . We were there for about 1.5 hours and 9 tables were open and untouched. When we asked our server she said it's because that area's server is not in yet. I've never really seen that and I used to serve (years ago). We didn't want the high top chairs because my friend has a back problem and also, we would have ordered more foods but the table top was so small we had no room. We ordered the tableside guacamole, a few tacos, and mango margaritas. The tableside guacamole was prepared fresh at the table where you can customize the spice level to your liking. The overall flavor was good and it was nice to get unlimited chips to enjoy all the guacamole that we were served. The tacos were solid overall. There are many proteins and vegetarian options to select from. My personal favorites were the beef barbacoa and pulled pork. The meats were tender and best enjoyed with the selection of hot sauces to add more spice to each bite. What a surprise. We saw this place while looking for a drink spot, turned out that it's a fine Mexican diner. The waiter recommended us something and I think it's called Molcajete De Carne (after checking back the menu). It came with a stone bowl and a box of tortilla, there were all kinds of meat and vegetables and cheese in it. Turned out super yum. Highly recommend. And of course we ordered drinks too. We ordered vegetarian tacos, chicken tinga tacos, margaritas (virgin and normal both were amazing). I hope they have more options of vegetarian tacos.
