Staff is "relatively" friendly yet will admonish and lecture you; usually about women. A bonus with this place: they will lend you money as long aa you don't tell her it's for beer. He was very hesitant to serve me, looks me up and down... He made me pay before even receiving my drink. I asked for a Jameson neat.... He serves it to me in a shot glass. If you are a bartender that's something you should be knowledgeable about. This place is not welcoming at all.. and definitely wouldn't recommend l, consider or even try to come back. Especially when the bartender has hygiene issues. Also he tells everyone that comes in that he can make them whatever they like; which is not possible at all due to limited experience in bartending and limited supplies. In my past, I have experience in bartending/service industry. As I know what they go through with people I'm a really great tipper. But for something like this, just broke my heart. It's really not welcoming and such disappointment in today's society when it's your first time in Toronto.

However, entry into the venue was bit disorienting and disorderly and "security" was also a bit unnecessarily rude when explaining directions and answering questions. My party and I were visiting toronto and this was our first time at Cabana Pool Bar, so everything was just a bit overwhelming when navigating parking/uber drop off, entry into venue, and inquiring table and bottle service. Security (I think) was doing way too much, maybe in anticipation of an unruly crowd, but we noticed everyone was chill and just trying to keep dry from the pouring rain. We would definitely visit again but try to ignore the attitudes of staff outside the venue. Rideshare is highly recommended but you'll still have to walk down Polson street, especially when leaving the venue. Bottle service is ridiculously expensive, especially if you don't drink alcohol. And if you're there for a performance, try delay going into the venue (if you don't have table/bottle service) because most performances start much later in the day unless otherwise stated, and there's (technically) nowhere to sit for free. Also, once you enter the venue, supposedly you are not allowed re-entry if you leave. Btw- the ladies bathroom is large and kept clean, with several stalls, sinks, and mirrors. There's also lounge seating in the bathroom. Overall, not a bad experience, but its worth a visit if you're in the area.
