It was if they were bitter at us for being there. There were no apologies for the late food, either. The entire experience was disappointing.

It was a festive and fun and tense night, and I had a blast until things fell apart in the 6th inning. Beacon Tap has a great reputation as a good and long standing local sports bar and it lived up to it. In fact, I learned that on Bears football Sundays, you need to reserve a spot here as it's so packed, you can't just walk in and watch a game. I sat at the bar and ended up having a couple of delectable Maplewood Son of Juice IPA drafts (at a reasonable $7.25 apiece) and had a blast with fellow fans, two of whom were regulars here. Tim was the fine and attentive bartender and he kept the beers flowing and it was a packed bar and dining room as expected. I left after the 6th inning when the game was decided and the Sox eventually lost 9-5. It would have been so cool to celebrate a major sports win in a sports bar along with the comaraderie, something I've never experienced, but alas, it will probably have to be in another life, ugh. Come to think of it, I have been at a winning major championship game, the Bears' 1985 NFC championship game when they beat the Rams 24-0 at Soldier Field, but being at a rowdy sports bar is indeed another thing. They have a quite nice beer list, and the usual pub food offerings. I learned that their popular 1/2 price pizza night is Tuesdays. They have a big parking lot to handle their big weekend crowds. I'm a big fan of this place, and will look to return again some day for a good time.

Service was excellent, there was one waiter but he was attentive and was able to keep up with the demand. Beacon Tap is a good local pub to enjoy sports .

Andy's is by far the best restaurant around of this type and always has delicious specials. The skirt steak is comparable to any great restaurant and the portions are crazy big! Much, much better and much more quantity than all others in town that are often more expensive and not nearly as tasty! Others often serve half the size steak for the same price or more! I Hop put only 3 small pieces of steak in my "steak omelet"!!! Andy's has the best food in town of this genre and I challenge anyone to find better. For the quality and quantity you get, no other restaurant comes close. Sometimes even their steak goes on special. TRY IT! This place is the biggest secret in town! I gladly put my name on this endorsement and as you can see, I will even painfully tell the whole truth! I just wish I could eat out more often! One of the best diners in the Chicagoland area. I recently moved to Lisle and heard about this place from some friends in the area so the wife and I decided to check it out. First thing we noticed was the cleanliness of the place and the friendliness of the staff. The owner, Mike, is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. The wife and I had their omelets and pancake combos for breakfast. Out of this world. You get amazing portions for the price. For their lunch, we had their burger and the Chicken Asiago sandwich, and of course the best soup in town! We have been coming every weekend for the last month and I think it's safe to say we made a new family ritual! One of the best dining experiences I've had in years! Food is incredible and made using the freshest ingredients and it shows. Prices are very reasonable especially for the amount of food you get. I was very impressed with how well the staff works together and how well all of them get along. It truly makes for a fun family atmosphere. I even got a chance to talk to Sam, one of the owners. Super friendly and extremely nice and quirky. I don't know how but it seems like he knows nearly every customers name which is very rare nowadays, making them feel like part of the family. This place is amazing! I originally found out about them by driving by and visited the website on their window: andysdesplaines.com. The food looked scrumptious and I decided to check it out. I LOVE their burgers and their skillets! Portions are very generous and the wait time is very reasonable. Staff is super friendly and helpful. The Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, Russian horseradish sauce and 1000 Island dressing on top - OMG - it was so unbelievable! $2.00 more - you get your fries and soup (choice of 6 - wow - what eatery has 6 soup options)? The onion soup was $1 extra but who cares? It was all a ton for the buck. The basket of tasty dinner rolls upon arrival was delightful. Our waitress Terry was excellent thru and thru and worthy of a large tip, which we obliged. We got free refills on our drinks too, a big thing for us. We were all totally pleased with our visit and will be sure to return at least once or twice before moving out of state later this year. We wish we could clone this place and take it to where we all are moving. I truly don't understand those whining here and their posts. Everything we had was good throughout. If I had to nitpick, I would say the French onion soup itself was average and not rich but the large crouton in the soup and abundant melted yummy Swiss cheese well compensated with the grated topping over the cheese incredibly tasty, making it over the top. The raspberry iced tea could have been a bit sweeter but it wasn't bad either. And you automatically get water delivered to your table, a rarity among diners today. And yeah, I get to a degree the 3% (rounded off) card charge but when you're spending $80 to $100 for gargantuan portions of great food, come on, who really cares about an extra $2.50-$3, chump change? A church friend of the family told me she and her husband go to Omega periodically and recommended it. So this evening we all went. It's really cool that they have a golf simulator set up. I was greeted by Jennifer and she had a very upbeat attitude. She bought over the menu which also has Social 18 Greek Kitchen, which is more traditional Greek fare. I received my food and begun to dig in. The gyro meat was tender and I loved that it had chopped tomatoes so I can get some in every bite. I don't know if the tzatziki sauce was homemade, but the flavor of garlic and dill was good enough that I was dipping my fries into it. The fries were salted well and fresh prepared. This is where the unusual experience came in. As I was eating and scrolling FB and a news story came up with more detail of a friends passing. And I just started to cry, Jennifer came over to check in on me, while I was trying to hold myself together. She understood my situation and she bought me a to-go container and some napkins. She even offered a hug which I took her up on. People like her are rare. Thanks for a great lunch!

Portions were small and didn't really seem like the value equaled the price. The biggest thing: 3. The food was not good. My burger was dry and hardly hand enough condiments and sauce on it. My kids chicken fingers were way over cooked and burnt. Fries tasted a but stale and no salt what so ever on them. For what was paid for what I got was a big disappointment. Probably will not be back anytime soon.

Alrighty then! Hubby and I had watched YouTuber Adam Witt give this place props for its broasted…read morechicken- and we were hungry, dang nab it! So we hopped in the car and headed over! Parking wasn't the greatest but we took note of the outdoor patio that gave us ideas for future outdoor eating with Puppy! Definitely had an older diner-like vibe. The young kid at the counter rushed us thru our order - not a smile on his face at all - sad. But he provided perfunctory service. We ordered the Maxwell Polish, a 4 piece broasted chicken dinner with broasted potato's - a biscuit (dry but soft) and the tiniest little thing of Cole slaw I ever did see. The chicken? Excellent! The broasted potato's weren't hot but they weren't cold -the coleslaw was -well - adequate- and the Maxwell hit the spot but could have been a tad hotter (same with the chicken too) - the rice pudding definitely hit the spot- Ambience? The restaurant seating area wasn't exactly the cleanest - but the restroom was spotless (always a good sign) - hmm. So would we come back? For the chicken? Yes! Not too convinced about the Polish though- still - that chicken was GOOD- try it sometime!
