We went for mother's day....there were six of us.....great service...great drinks. The food was exceptional! The Mexican street corn, perogies, and fritters were a perfect start to our meal. My son and I had the swordfish special which was absolutely perfect.....my dad had the Portuguese cod, he loved it, my other son had a burger which he said was really good, and my mom had the seafood fradiablo.....she loved it !!! some local friends took me here as this is one of the places they go party. I went here on a Sat night and it was so crowded. Crowded to point you can barely walk without literally hitting someone. And if you're a local, this place ends being your high school reunion. There's a small dance floor and a DJ that sucked balls. He would play rock then instantly switch over to flashback from the 80's then the next song would be a top 20 hip hop song. Sooo annoying! The music was just all over the place you couldn't really get your dance on oh! and there wasn't even room! One interesting point to mention is that the dance floor is soooo dark. Darker than a typical club. And when you walk out to the patio (which is cool and HUGE) and you may be surprised to see what your dance partner looks like. Imagine that, you meet some dude/chick, get your groove on the dance floor and decide to go out on the beach for a walk but before you get there, you go through the patio where there's stadium lighting and suddenly change your mind. It's so freakin' bright out there it's odd. You can see every pore on the person standing next to you. But pretty much everyone here get so hammered no one cares. It's seat yourself seating, which might not be bad if it's not busy, but if it is you have to stand next to the dirty table to "claim" it and try and catch waitstaff to clean it off. Drinks are okay. Canned beer was good but would have been better if it was in bottles. I got Naraganssett thinking it was local, but it's brewed in Rochester, NY. Food was a little pricy for the quality but you're paying for being on a beach which was nice and relaxing. However, our kids and infant had to be entertained by it for over an hour and a half because that's how long it took for our food to be served. We got an apology and one appetizer taken off... bill was still over $100 plus tip - you'd think you'd get something more taken off for a wait like that. Friends wanted to go because of the view & atmosphere. The view is great- that is true. As for the place- took more than 20 minutes to get drinks, another 20 to get food- even though we ordered it when we ordered the drinks. They tried to remove our plates while we were still eating ("are you finished?" "No- still eating, thanks") then when they did take our plates, we asked for the check & then didn't see our waitress again for another 40 minutes despite asking more than 5 different employees if someone could find her and/or get our check. Love the andrea!! Always a great time here. My family and I have been coming here for years during each summer. The staff is excellent - all very friendly (especially carli, jaime, Leslie). The food is delicious as well. Great spot for some good seafood. They also have really good burgers and sandwiches. Kid friendly - they have chicken fingers, fries, grilled cheese, hot dogs. The seating is a great set up. You can either be under their tent near the bar and look out onto the beach or sit outside in the sun near their beautiful fireplace. A nice beach bar, HOWEVER, I do have a complaint. I was there last Sat. and had a nice lunch with my wife. We had two drinks each and then someone bought us 2 more drinks. It was beautiful. Before we finished our drinks, the host came to our table and said we'd have to leave because they needed the table. We said OK and went to the bar where we finished our drinks, about 30 minutes. As we went to leave, our table still was empty. A ridiculous policy and a lie. Rushing people out the door when there isn't a line or reservation is bad business! read more

Ugh, the Andrea is now just the worst since the hotel was knocked down due to the storm. The food is different, no more wonderful breakfast buffet on the water, and the inside tent smells like pool. We had a lovely dinner at Andrea's last night. My husband and I are from RI a little more north near Providence so we're locals. We came down to Westerly for some R&R during a few week nights so we wouldn't have to fight summer beach crowds. Andrea's was perfectly busy but we only had to wait 5 minutes for an outdoor table. That was nice although we were enjoying the Adirondack deck seating while we waited so a longer wait wouldn't have been so bad. Service was just right. Our server was kind and happy and she checked on us as one would expect. Our dinner was fresh, prompt and lite. I ordered Andrea's House Salad(greens, craisens, gorgonzola, walnuts, delicious tangy dressing) with seared scallops, my husband had fish taco's(had a fish taco left over which minus the tortilla was delicious even cold the next day). Hearing the waves crashing in only yards away from us was the icing on the cake and it sets the mood for a mind clearing dining experience. Love RI! read more

My sisters and cousin were spending a girls weekend at Misquamicut and decided to head down to the Andrea after hearing good things about it from people at nearby Paddy's. We headed down around 6:00 on a Friday and were sat right away on their covered, open patio with a gorgeous view of the beach and water. I noticed when we left around 7:30 that the rest of the place had really filled up, and there appeared to be a group of people waiting for seats. Nothing out of the norm for a weekend in a beach town. We started off with a pitcher of shandy - the drink was very good but be warned, for $28 we only got enough liquid to fill three cups, as it was mostly ice. I'd probably opt to order a separate drink next time. We ordered the asparagus fries as a starter and despite being fried, they were a very light way to start our meal. I didn't get that 'I'm so stuffed I can't eat my meal' feeling - which was great because the cold lobster roll I ordered was HUGE. They really didn't skimp on the meat in this one - huge chunks of claw meat lightly dressed and served in a toasted New England style hot dog roll. Delicious, and reasonably priced at $20. My sister and cousin had the fish sandwich and macaroni and cheese (small portion, but came from the appetizer menu) and we ended the meal with make your own s'mores served right at the table. Overall, an excellent dining experience, and I'll be sure to recommend to anyone heading to Westerly. One unique aspect of the restaurant - there is an outdoor fireplace to the side of the bar. Apparently, the restaurant was damaged during Super Storm Sandy in 2012 and the indoor fireplace was the only thing that survived - now exposed outside. They decided to rebuild but left it standing as sort of a battle scar of the storm. It looks really cool and is a great reminder that this area was badly damaged, but has bounced back! read more

Though the Andrea is a hotel (by name anyway) it is best known as a bar! From late June to labor day, locals and tourists kick back with overpriced drinks, poor attempts at summer romance, and $1 jello shots. The crowd at the Andrea is always unpredictable... you arrive at 9 and its a family dinner crowd. An hour and a half later, you have 20 somethings getting sloppy. And they do get sloppy at the Andrea. The small crowded dance floor inside is always an interesting sight. I don't know why summer makes people forget that shirts REALLY aren't dresses. Wednesday is the famed baby bullet day where a miniature Coors Light is only $1. Groups purchase them by the bucket. Friday and Saturday nights have a $3 cover charge starting at 9, but parking is free at night. During the day I believe it is $20 to park, but you receive $10 Andrea bucks. I would suggest avoiding the mixed drinks however. They use a measured shot, so you'll pay $20+ dollars for 3-4 drinks with one shot of alcohol each. Beer and wine is the way to go at The Andrea. The Andrea is a good time if you are looking for a party, I'm not sure how it fairs as a place to sleep. I always have fun. read more

I can see this place perhaps being a good choice if you want to party on the beach through the wee hours and either crash elsewhere or party so hard that you can stumble upstairs and "sleep" through the morning commotion described below. As for actually using it as a HOTEL, I cannot recommend it. The partying mentioned above goes on past midnight and it seemed every sound was channelled by the claustrophobically narrow hallways to our room. In the morning, these tight spaces with impossibly thin walls served to amplify the noises from the free-range children that were running the halls, and made encountering a family coming the other way with beach chairs a sort of metal tango of death. Our experiences during this stay made my wife and I swear off the Andrea (and having kids for at least a few years). read more

I came here with my friends and while they didn't have their IDs, I did and they still denied serving me despite telling me they were serving drinks and we were kicked out of the establishment. Even though I had my actual government issue Id they still tried to tell us my ID was fake just so they could clear the place out. read more

Food is slightly above average. Service was good until the point when the party of 21 (10 adults, 11 kids) came in about 25 minutes after us. Our app (clam fritters) came quickly, but, after waiting an additional 45 minutes for the main meal, we had to prompt the server as to the anticipated time of its arrival. It came about 5 minutes after that prompting, and only slightly before the main meal of the ENTIRE party of 21. It must be noted that the weather (overcast and 66 degrees) is not typical for July at the Rhode Island shore and the crowds are WAY down from what they could be. If this is a slow day (and I believe it is), I can only imagine how poor the service would be had the day been sunny and hot. Oh, and it's WAY too loud. read more

We went here on a Friday night and were seated in the tent room which is open to the ocean in the front. It was breezy and cool once the sun went down and they closed the sides to keep it comfortable. The food was backed up but the waitress let us know ahead of time. We ordered a pitcher of summer mules which was perfect for a summer evening. Our waitress was very attentive and kept checking on us and refilling our drinks. Of course we ended up at The Andrea because we've been many many times but since the whole Covid thing it's been most difficult to be there. Today was no exception. We had no problem parking and because it's preseason there was no charge. We walked in with our masks like you're supposed to and they asked us if we had a reservation? The place was not busy at all but they required reservation unless you wanted to sit inside where you couldn't see anything. Our mission on a nice day really was to be able to have lunch by the water. Ok...I can't imagine everyone goes on line to find out the rules for these establishments before they head out that day but ok...we wanted to make a reservation and we said OK we will make a reservation, tell us how long we have to wait to sit outside and she told us that we had to go onto their website and make the reservation even though we were standing right in front of her. Ok... so shes assuming we have either a phone or a computer in our pocket to do this?! Ken says "you wanna go to McDonalds to which I replied I want to get out of here! We walked out and we will never go there again. You know... we understand things have changed but assuming anyone coming in from another state on the off season would know they have to "go on their website to reserve a table" is absurd and ridiculous!! We ended up at the Windjammer, they asked if we had a reservation and we said no and she said don't worry if you don't mind a couple of Adirondack chairs I will sit you there with full service. You can get a nice meal here. The dining room is probably the prettiest on the strip and the food is very good. The service has been excellent every time I've been here. I had a fish sandwich that was excellent and some friends loved the mussels. The clam chowder is very good and the scallops are always great. This is a safe bet for sure. The Andrea is in the perfect location to enjoy food, drinks, and fun on the beach. The restaurant is right on the water and has perfect views of the ocean. I believe there is an inside seating area, although I didn't see it, but the deck is packed with tables. The atmosphere was perfect for the beach and it was laid back, relaxed, and casual. We went with a party of 12 on a Sunday and the table was ready and waiting when we got there. I'm surprised they even agreed to it, seeing as it was incredibly crowded, but they were gracious and welcoming nonetheless. When we sat down, drinks were ordered and we were informed that there was a bit of a wait for food that day, as another large party had just ordered. Its always nice to be told up front what to expect and I appreciated the honesty. Drinks came out in waves, which was fine. I ordered a margarita, which I was less than impressed with and thought had far too much sweet & sour mix. My sister ordered a pain killer and it was to die for. Pineappley, coconuty, and perfect, basically. They have lots of cocktails to choose from and I'm sure I would have tried more if I wasn't hooked on the pain killer. The menu is typically beach fare: sandwiches, salads, seafood etc. A few in our party ordered appetizers and they came out in a timely fashion. The crab cake was delicious, as was the shrimp cocktail. I think someone ordered asparagus fries as well, which seems to be a trend. Flash frying vegetables...so tasty! For our main meals, we ran the gamut from fish n chips (massive portion), fish sandwich, blackened shrimp tacos, veggie burgers etc. Everyone was satisfied with their meal and we didn't have to wait terribly long for them in the end. Because the expectation was set at the beginning of the meal and they more than met expectations, we were a happy group. Well done to the wait staff and cook staff at The Andrea. When he brought me copy to sign it was our bill but the table of 7 next to us. This used to be one of our favorite hangouts. It's still decent during the day for lunch or for an early dinner. We went for drinks late with family and we were treated like dirt by the bartender from hell. We will never go back. The bartender had a look of absolute hatred in her eyes and looked like she wanted everyone at the bar to just die. Sure, everyone has a bad day now and then, but this was beyond belief and we were embarrassed that we took family there. It makes me sad that this once great place has fallen so far. The service was slow to say the least and as I looked around the people who walked in half an hour behind us and ordered the SAME EXACT FOOD were served a half hour before us. The manager, though she did discount our bill seemed to not really care that we were unhappy. Our server was sweet however. I felt bad for her having to see it happen around her. The ribeye was 50% fat and that just topped it off...not to mention a food server threw our apps onto the table and the tarter sauce fell all over the table and she just simply walked away. I'm sorry to leave a poor review but this evening, 6/15/22 it is warranted. First, our waitress was very personable, apologetic, and professional. We ordered the kids pasta with butter for two of our kids to split, along with mussels for us to start with. We also ordered the shrimp tacos and fish and chips for our meals to come out later. After a bit we were told the kitchen was backed up...the place had two times more tables vacant than occupied. Our meals came out before our app and before the kid's meal. So much for getting the kids fed first so mom and dad can try to enjoy some food. I needed to request tarter sauce and ketchup after the meal was delivered. We at that point canceled the app and our waitress was again, very apologetic. The kid's pasta was not drained well, it was full of water, my wife left hungry and we all left aggravated. The best thing about this place is the fact that it's on the water. The lobster salad was really, really good. No fillers, not a lot of mayo. Just lobster, and large chunks of it. Their clam chowder was slightly bland but pretty good. We ordered a cobb salad and they served it with blue cheese dressing, which made my boyfriend angry (because we wouldn't have ordered it if we had known that they were out of actual blue cheese), and our server very nicely replaced it with something else, and he was really sweet about it. We were looking to try something different we never venture to misquamicutt but decided we wanted bar food with a view so venture out with out 4 kids. We are outside as it was a nice day. Pros: great service even on the deck, nice view, they keep the seagulls out with string overhead very smart, Sweet and spicy wings great, tuna tacos awesome and Cobb salad special good. Cons: pay 10 for parking but get a $5 coupon, waitress had no idea about the beers, I imagine it can get rowdy in the summer, a little pricy overall I would definitely go back and the kids liked it.
