(Next time I'll ask for the fries on the side instead of in the pita) Service was seriously friendly, and I will definitely be a repeat customer. Just came here from camping over night, and very hungry. We were met with kind waitresses, and very speedy service. We got our food in a matter of minutes after our order. The food was better than expected. I highly recommend this dinner to anyone in the area. read more

The food was good however the waitress took our check with my credit card and when she brought it back I noticed a non-cash charge of $2.55. The review right above mine by Sue K. noted the same thing and she stated she would not go back. They charge 3.99% if you use a credit card. This is not noted anywhere except there is a small sign up by the cash register. I never went to the register therefore I was not forewarned of this. I should have been told when my card was taken by the waitress so that I could have used cash if I wanted to. On their website it states that they gladly accept cash, visa, master card, etc......nothing about a 3.99% up charge read more

Just had maybe the worst meal I've ever had from this place. We live right down the road so my wife ordered breakfast that was intended to be via curbside pickup as advertised, which they rudely advised her they don't do because they "want to make sure you pay." When she got the food home, the "poached" eggs on top of my sausage patties were completely raw and sliding around like a waterbed. She called and asked them if she could bring the food back because the eggs were raw, and when she got there she was greeted rudely by the cook regarding the eggs. They pretty much deconstructed the entire meal and redid it for me in separate components, which was fine. She got the meal back home to find that the scrambled eggs were partially raw, the microscopic biscuits that the sausage were on were both moldy, and the sausage patties were like hockey pucks. My wife had ordered a wrap for herself, which contained nearly nothing that the menu said it would contain. All in all, this place is horrendous. Avoid it like the plague unless you want to eat something that makes you sick. read more

I am giving this a 2 because we stopped by at 9:30 in the morning, the door was open and as we entered we were told that they weren't open yet. They were still waiting for employees to come in. I can honestly say I've never seen or heard of a diner like this. I have been here in the past and the food was excellent and it didn't matter what time of day you were there. Back then it had plenty of people to prepare food and a good waitressing staff. Today they didn't seem to have either so I couldn't even comment on the food. While I would be tempted to come back at another time I'm going to wait and make sure that they are open first and have their problems worked out. read more

We recently stopped at the Andover diner for a bite to eat. The outside was nice and the inside was clean. It was a typical style diner with a cool mural in the back. Our waiter Nick was pleasant and attentive. I got the California panini which had chicken, mozzarella, red peppers and spinach. It was very good and my fries were crispy. My son got the chicken and cheese quesadilla. It was bigger and better looking than I expected. It had chopped peppers and onions on it and there was a side of chopped lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream. He enjoyed it. My daughter loved her Belgium waffle, which was light and fluffy. She also enjoyed her chocolate milkshake (well who wouldn't). My husband got a Greek chicken wrap. He felt it need more chicken. Lastly, my other other son got a burger and a side of waffle fries. I quickly regretted not ordering waffle fries when I saw them. He said everything was good. The atmosphere was laid back and a little on the slow side but it gave us a good opportunity to talk with our kids. We didn't get anything fancy but I would go back. We came here around lunchtime on a Sunday. The wall mural features the very worst artistic rendition of Elvis I've ever seen in my life. It was incredible--even worse than the unwell Marilyn Monroe he was eating with. The waitress seemed unhappy to see us, and unhappier to answer any questions that we might have about the menu. For example: what's in the side salad? The answer seems to vary extremely widely from diner to diner, and sometimes includes meat. IMO, a reasonable question, but she seemed to find it absurd/insulting. We ordered eggplant parmesan, french toast, and the aforementioned side salad (which had an iceberg base and then had tomatoes, cucumber, olives, onion). The French Toast was fairly dry and lukewarm. The eggplant parm was fine. The waitress got much friendlier when she handed us the bill. read more

Went to eat at Andover Diner for lunch for the first time since before covid, and the food was not the same, it was not good, no taste, like old food thats been in the refrig for awhile, stingy with the food, and a lot more money, but I figured it was that good before so it'll be worth the money...NOT!!!! Outside looks great, inside is a disaster! Got seated and left, roof was leaking everywhere. Water was dripping all over tables and chairs, peoples food and the coffee machine. Place was disgusting didn't want to risk eating the food if the inside looked like that! Who knows what the kitchen looked like! I wasn't in the mood to get sick. I used to go here as a kid all the time, was a great diner and had great food, I don't know what happened to it. If they just fixed the roof and ceiling panels it would be great but to be okay to sit a party of people at a table that clearly has a leak over it and reassure us that the ceiling isn't gonna fall on us is ridiculous. read more

Went to new 206 diner for the first time since name changed. I ordered the broiled stuffed sole with CRABMEAT STUFFING and my husband ordered open face turkey with BROWN gravy. His turkey came with yellow turkey gravy and was good but not what he ordered. Mine came with NO CRABMEAT STUFFING at all. I told the waiter and he said something I did not understand. The management came over and asked what was wrong. I told them about the my order being wrong and did not mention my husbands was wrong also. The manage did bring a bowl of crabmeat stuffing for ME to add to my plate. It was very good stuffing but the meal was not what we ordered. With so many great diners around we will NOT be returning to the New 206 Diner since they can't even get an order correct. We should have know it was not a good place since no one was in there at dinner time on a Saturday night. read more

In appearance, this seems like a pretty average Jersey diner. Somewhat smallish but with typical chrome on the outside. The food was a surprise though. My son and I took a big hike in the Andover area and wanted to try someplace new. Well, the Andover Diner isn't exactly new but it was to us. Classic looking place. Just what a diner should look like. We ordered the usual. Chicken fingers and fries for my son. Onion omelette, well done home fries and rye toast for me. Food came out quickly and was delicious. My boyfriend and I were both craving diner food the other day and heard very good reviews about this diner. We decided to do a pick up order. I ordered a cheeseburger deluxe, while my boyfriend wanted 3 eggs scrambled with a side of taylor ham. It comes with home fries, choice of toast, and the chef/owner even gave us a big side of fresh cut fruit. The chef/owner was very kind, asked us if there was anything else we needed and if we were doing alright despite the virus going around, and thanked us numerously for our support. Businesses like these are the type we need, and generous/kind people like him are also what we need more of in the world today. It never costs you to be kind to others. The food was absolutely delicious - nice and hot. Crispy fries, and my burger, which I asked to be medium rare, was spot on! Thank you so much for whipping us up some good food. The ONLY reason I give this place 2 stars instead of one is because the food was better than it has been in a while. We were meeting my brother and sister in law who were visiting the area, and I thought this would be a good place to eat. The meal was without incident, but it was after the meal when the trouble began. We paid the bill and left a cash tip and proceeded outside only to be followed by our waitress who shouted out "gratuity is not in your bill! " I told her we knew that but was curious as to why she would say that. My husband went back in only for the waitress to say the bus boy had taken her tip! She did not apologize to my husband or our family. I also count on tips as part of my income, but I would NEVER chase someone to the parking lot. Incredibly unprofessional and disappointing. This was my second time here recently. We didn't much like our meals the first time and the service was almost non existent. Tonight I could not eat any of my meal. I ordered spinach pie and salad. The lettuce in the heavily dressed (were they hiding something) was brown. I sent it back. The spinach pie was also inedible as it was drowning in oil. My friend and I shared her eggs benedict - barely edible and super salty. Tables and booths had not been cleared - perhaps because there were only two waitresses working the whole place. Not good. I am not sure what happened at this Diner it is now called the Route 206 Diner. We were starving and this was going to be dinner for us because we were moving all day and we were exhausted. I ordered a simple grilled chicken caesar salad and my boyfriend ordered a wrap. I'm not a cook and I could have done a better job on my salad. There was little thought put into it the croutons that were placed on a salad were definitely slices of bread that were put in the oven. When I saw the $26 bill for these two items which also included a glass of soda I was really disappointed. That will be the last time I give them my money. They really need to invest in a better cook or somebody who gives a crap about how that place is run. If I could give this no stars I would. read more

We went there for my grandfather's birthday. The staff was very attentive and friendly and helpful, There was 12 of us and everyone's meals tasted amazing, we all really enjoyed the new presentation with the beautiful flower it added a certain ambiance to the plate. The new owners are so nice and friendly and really care about our experience and came out and talked to everyone asking them how their meal and experience was and were completely willing to bring us anything we needed. My family and I have been here before with the old management and it is a complete turn around from before and we see a 100% improvement with the food quality, taste, and presentation! Older decor but very clean. We ended up here by default on a Sunday when everything else was closed. Food turned out to be quite good, I got a bacon Swiss omelet and pancakes, my partner got a chicken parm sandwich with fries. Very large portions and everything was tasty. There was a wait when we got there and after we got seated and ordered coffee, we heard thrre would be a wait. What we were not told was that one cook called in sick and we would wait an hour for BREAKFAST!
