They have scrapple! My favorite breakfast meat (more of a mystery meat). I had scrambled eggs and scrapple with rye toast that came with home fries and my husband had eggs, toast, and home fries. We split the FAMOUS corn cakes. They are everything I dreamed they would be and more. Sweet, fluffy, but also melt in your mouth. They're almost better than regular pancakes. So stinkin good. Visited 10/12/2023 Stopped by after a run for apple cider donuts (for home, not breakfast) for some breakfast. So... the food eggs over easy, home fries for the Mrs, biscuit and sausage gravy with a poached egg for me were very good. Service was prompt and courteous... so problem so far. My issue (and my wife's) is the cleanliness of the place. Needs a major scrubbing in my opinion. My wife went to use their bathroom and had we not already ordered, we would have left. She said the bathroom was so gross! (although I'm glad we stayed because the food was pretty good) Ladies... think curb appeal and spruce up the place a bit. What a hidden gem this place is and we almost missed it! Just don't look for anything fancy. The food is delicious and inexpensive. We were looking for somewhere to eat after visiting a local farm and this place was perfect. An older Ukrainian woman was cooking and doing a great job. My husband had the chicken pot pie and I had the stuffed cabbage, both delicious! And then the chef sent out a corncake for us to try (never had one before). We live an hour away, but I can't wait to go back and have those corncakes! The place is small and very quiet so you're aware of everyone in the room and there's actual conversation instead of people looking at their cell phones. Great experience, really nice people. A cozy little diner with friendly folks and delicious food. We enjoyed an omelet and blueberry corncakes. The omelet came with a substantial serving of terrific home fries and two generous slices of toast. The corncakes were loaded with juicy blueberries. Both dishes were well prepared. Such a fantastic and quaint breakfast place. Menu was short and sweet and the owner talked us through it. I got the beef tips on toast and husband got the omelet. They made a special pancake for my 4 year old and even sent her home with a small goodie bag. It's not a large place but they have seating at the counter and 5-6 tables. Coffee was hot and flowing. The only minor thing is it's a bit grimy in there, but hey, I think it adds to the ambiance, haha. Overall, I'd come back. read more

My wife and I were driving on 206 from Flanders to Chester and saw this really small diner. We were looking for a breakfast spot so decided to give it a try. It was definitely a nice find! There isn't a lot of seating inside, but we found a nice table for two. We each had specials. My wife had French Toast with bananas and strawberries and I had biscuits with sausage gravy. Both meals were excellent, as was the coffee! Service was friendly, parking was easy, and prices reasonable. The only negative I could say is that there isn't much privacy as the tables are close together. (Normally this probably is not bad, we just had someone very loud next to us). Pretty good food. I had the chicken pot pie. The crust was flakey the filling was hot ,creamy and fresh. I also dug the cool vibe. Just a converted garage (maybe )with a happy older woman cooking and a waitress who knew all the regulars. Would def. go back if I was in the area. PS. Try the corn cakes too. read more

5 stars! Yes 5 stars because some things just can not be replicated. The breakfast was simply put delightful. I ordered the sportsman special. I was hungry. I opted for the blueberry pancakes and they were well worth it. The bacon was super crispy and not fatty. Eggs were prepared wonderfully over easy. The place was like stepping into nostalgia. Really sweet. All of the old pics and advertisements on the wall just added to the fun. Upon leaving we were given a little parting gift which were done cookies for the road. Great little spot for breakfast or a light lunch. They do breakfast foods especially well and have been here for over 20 years that I know of. Decided to have a late breakfast here on my day off and wasn't sure what to expect, as the last time I ate there was in 1995, even though I live less than two miles away and pass it a few times per week. Turns out absolutely nothing has changed. The nostalgia hit me like a truck as soon as I opened the door: same menu board featuring the same items I ate back then, along with some daily specials, all at great prices. It's a tiny place, and there are the 25% seating capacity restrictions, so if you swing by here on a weekend, expect a long wait to get in. Best bet is on a weekday: just three other customers besides me between 12:30-1 p.m. But it's so worth the wait. Nothing super fancy; just good, well-cooked breakfast and lunch fare, with a friendly, chatty waitress keeping the coffee coming and cook busting chops with the regulars, at least when I was there. The cutest, cozy, and friendly place around ! The server/owner I think , was so sweet , I can't imagine her being ever annoyed or angry at customer . She found the time to chat with us a little and check on us often despite the fact she was pretty busy . The food was delicious and you can tell it's made with love and care ! I was watching the lady cooking the food for couple of minutes (who is the Mom of the lady serving us ) and she gave me the warmest smile ever . I had a feeling like my mom is making me food when I was a kid . The prices are very fair too . This place is amazing! It's very small but right on Rt 206. Cash only but worth bringing your money. I had pancakes and they were delicious! I can either write an honest review or I can be nice. I think Yelp is for people who speak the truth and tell it to you like it really is. A review that's meant to be nice doesn't benefit the consumer. With that said... I had the displeasure of eating here recently. I had driven past it hundreds and times before, but never ventured inside. It looks tiny from the outside and feels just as tiny on the inside. Once you step inside you feel like you have been transported outside of NJ and into another dimension. Someplace else in the country it might be considered "homey", but around here, it's just plain odd. The restroom has to be accessed from the outside. It's like you are using a gas station restroom and yes, it's that gross and dingy. I was already committed to eating there when I used the restroom, but I really wanted to flee. Are the people who work there nice, yes. Are they also from another dimension, a little bit. The food was extremely mediocre. The decor and entire atmosphere was a little like a scene from Deliverance. You might be curious if you are one of the many people who have driven past this place...don't be. Great place for breakfast! I have been here numerous times. Yes, it is extremely country and you feel as though you are probably in rural Kentucky. However, I appreciate the friendly service and you cant expect a fancy place when you look at it from the outside. There is an older woman in the back who cooks everything to order and everything I have tried so far is excellent. Simple menu and thats all I need. You can also see her cooking so you know theres no funny business with cleanliness or messing with your food. What I like to order is the oatmeal pancakes, crispy bacon, and a coffee. I have been driving past this little odd looking diner for 20 years. Today was my first time and had lunch. Small, 9 tables and a counter that seats probably 7 people. Real country feel, like West Virgina in the woods. Greeted warmly and food was served pretty fast. I had a Chicken Salad sandwich on multi-grain bread with tomato and lettuce. It was very good. The bread was fresh the the chicken was perfect. Simple menu. Looks like breakfast is a main stay here. What people need to understand is that the Mini Mac is what it is. It's a small little dive dinner, they aren't trying to be the Nicest most elegant place in the world, they are trying to be what they are, which is a community diner for regulars and passer by's. Every time I have gone into the Mini Mac, I have been greeted so nicely, maybe because my father is a regular but either way they have been very kind. The food is not that of a 5 star restaurant, but those coming in to the Mini Mac probably could have guessed this already. I wouldn't say that you have to have extremely sub par standards to eat here, I have eaten in some of the nicest restaurants in the United States, but I am a normal person, and that's what the mini mac is for normal people. Mini Mac is great! I have been coming here for a few years now enjoy the place very much. The atmosphere inside is very tight. I don't think this place can sit more than 15 people maximum at a time. There is a small bar where you can get a meal if you are dining alone or you can take a seat at one of the small tables. I do not think a party larger than 6 can sit here at one table. The food is good. I always have their omelets or other egg meals. The home fries are tasty and the omelets are always cooked just right. Coffee is average reminds me of standard diner coffee. Toilet like some of the other reviewers have noted is outside and you might have to ask a key to get inside. You can sit outside too if you want although the seating is in the parking lot and is simply benches. Service is fast and friendly. Cannot pay by credit card. read more

Great small local eatery. I used to go frequently back in the 90's then moved to the Midwest. I get back east about once a year and stop by. Terry always remembers me. One time my 7 year old left her wallet there. Terry found a receipt for some gloves we bought her and tracked us down. Mailed everything to us free of charge. Visited Mini Mac with my family for my mom's birthday outing. After reading reviews, I thought it was going to be super tiny and we would have to wait for a table. There were a few open tables, so we were able to sit right away. The service was great; super friendly & efficient. We chatted with the owner (I believe) for a bit, and turns out she's from my hometown! Small world :) As far as the food goes, everything was delicious. I had the corn pancakes, at the recommendation of the owner, which were amazing. Unlike others I've had that are like flat cornbread, these were very light and fluffy. I also had the home fries and two scrambled eggs. The rest of the crew had a variety of items - Biscuits with Gravy, Scrapple, Fried eggs, french toast, GF pancakes, etc. Everyone was happy with their meal. Do NOT eat here if you're planning to sit outside. We had our two dogs with us after a local hike and it looked like a great place to sit outside for a meal. Within minutes we had our first bee- one dog was trying to eat it and two boys were jumping around. This was even before the food arrived. The traffic was loud and noisy and the vent from the kitchen ensured we enjoyed the true greasy smell of the diner even from the outside. We just had tap water to drink - it tasted awful and no one could drink it (I was relieved the kids wouldn't even touch it). The food itself wasn't bad but we ate it very quickly as by then we had attracted 3-4 more bees. The kids finished their food in the car and we zipped off. I stopped by here for lunch while working in Chester last March. This is a nice little mom & pop diner! They have a lot of breakfast/lunch options to choose from, all of which is modestly priced. I had a pork roll, egg, and cheese sandwich with home fries and a coffee. It was excellent. The staff was very friendly too. When I got there I wasn't sure what scrapple was, and when I asked the waitress about it, she gave me a small plate of it for free. It's a shame I live all the way in Monmouth county. I'd go there at least once a week if it wasn't so far away, lol. read more
