Made a reservation for a tasting. Unfortunately the night before I ended up in the hospital. I was given strict instructions not have any alcohol, caffeine, etc. I called Sara, (the wine makers wife) and sent an email requesting a refund since it was no one's fault. Sara refused the refund saying it wasn't their fault either. This was even after I sent her my documentation from the ER doctor. For this reason alone, I am giving a 1 star. read more

It was a sunny day here in Ncal we decided it was a good day to visit Napa! We wanted to find Andersons vineyard, because it is one of the oldest vineyares with a wine cave. The GPS took us down a very narrow windy road, pretty soon it was just us and nature, and no more cell signal! We thought we were lost, but just when we were about to give up, a small sign popped into our view: Anderson's! As luck have it, the master wine maker himself decided to take us, even though they don't typically take walk ins. Our experience includes i believe 10 wines, the wine maker explains each, from the type of grapes, to soil and the whole process to make each wine. Each of the wine we had can only be ordered through Anderson's wine club, they are not available retail. We even got to taste two bonus wines that was $600+. As you probably already sense, I'm not a wine connoisseur so I can't really provide details of each, but I can tell you they are excellent wines, cos as much as I had, I didn't turn red or got drunk! Lol. It is definitely a great experience, well worth the price of admission! I would definitely do it again for the experience. read more

Had a wonderful time talking with Todd and tasting his excellent wines. There wasn't a single one we didn't like. The cave was a nice and cool relief from the heat outside and the perfect setting of our tasting. Loved the blind pours; it was really fun guessing the wines we were trying. Come visit the Valley on the mountain. One of the many pleasures of visiting wine country is the variety of settings you can enjoy along with your wine. ACV is another location that is unique in its own right. It is off the tourist beaten path and while it has grown to be more of a busy destination, and has its elite aspect (Ghost Horse and The Todd) that may not appeal to all, I can state several things for sure: 1) the drive up to the property is scenic 2) the wines are good, better and best - and consistent year over year 3) tastings are in small group seatings, so you will get to meet some new folks in a relaxed setting 4) this is not for strict Burgundy lovers ACV's wines run from Bordeaux style blends (meritage - aka Eloge and Right Bank) to single vineyard full-throttle cabernets (some only available to club members due to limited production) and THEN the over-hyped and uber-expensive Ghost Horse cult line. Todd Anderson has built a terrific franchise (heck you can even go with Todd on one of several wine cruises) and ACV makes some great wines. You will get to taste through a decent portion of the portfolio (including some Ghost Horse) without any heavy sales pressure and will also get some background about the property, the brand and their process while seated in a cool cave dug into the hillside. I am a fan of the wines, including the Estate Reserve Cab and the club-only Signature, but they aim to please and don't be shy to ask for what you want. This is another great spot among the Napa properties. read more

REVIEWER # 27 I recently had the most amazing opportunity to visit Anderson's Conn Valley Vineyards over the past weekend as I was invited by some friends to try out their 'Spring Bling Wine Event' on April 22nd, 2017. This was my first time attending this vineyard and I had a GREAT time! The vineyard is located in such a hidden area but is so worth the drive up the hill and back down. Anderson's is a 42-acre winery in Napa with spectacular views and such delightful scenery and experience. We were treated to over 10+ popular different red wines, and although I am not a red wine lover, I truly thought that this vineyard offered some delicious wines! Did I mention that we were able to taste the wine inside the 'Cave' where all the wine is made! How cool! Upon our arrival, we were greeted by a lovely woman who checked us in and welcomed us with the most beautiful smile. She provided us with a wine glass and poured us two delicious 2014 Chardonnay and 2014 Sauvignon Blanc. I was totally diggin' these wines and regret NOT buying a bottle before leaving. Jeremy was our wine pourer for the day and poured us some good samples of all the different wines. Some of my favorites were the: *2014 Pinot Noir *2013 Cab *2013 Block Cuvee For the event, they also served some delicious appetizers and main meals: *Spring pasta salad *Tuna Poke (My absolute favorite!) *Pork Empanada (Another one of my favorite appetizers). *Yummy Pork Sauces: Romesco, Garlic Aioli & salsa Verde During the event, I was also able to be up close & personal with the man Todd Anderson and met his son! (Boy, I'm such a lucky woman!). Todd was able to provide me a little tour of the vineyard and was so knowledgeable! He took the time to explain to me about the property and introduce me to his staff! We were also snappin' away and enjoying that memorable time by taking pictures with the vendor: M2M (Moments to Memories) photo booth! This was such a FANTASTIC addition to the event. My friends and I were able to capture special moments together and leave with some amazing photos of that day! We been wine club members for 3 years at conn valley. The wine here is great but theres is lots of great wines in St Helena. So we called here yesterday and rsvp on Thursday for a tasing for Saturday for a 11 am wine tasting and to pick up our wine shipment and if you ever been here you know that it is up in the mountains and down some roads. Well here's what happen while we're on our way up here we get a phone call from Tom and he tell us to pick up our wine at the cave, we're confused what's going on because we booked a tasting, so we get to the Winery and we see a bunch of cars there and the owner Todd Anderson yellow Hummer, we go up to the cave and we hear people loud and laughing in there, We get our wine no explanation why we not getting a tasting and that was it. I guess the owner Decided he wanted to have a party here today. We won't be back here no more. We drove 2 hours to get here. The good thing I learned today while doing a tasting at another winery is that there is better wine at other Wineries and it's time to cancel membership here and join Another winery. Great wine from an excellent winemaker - I carried Conn Valley on my wine lists for years - always exceptional wine that pleases the crowds. I found the tasting up in Napa to be very accomodating / the people that work there do care and take care of you. Todd Anderson is a piece of work though - but who cares, he makes great wine. You gotta check out GhostWorld wine - you pay $1 million to belong and you get some wine and also get to hang out with the Legend in his own mind - dut ta daaaaahhh Todd Anderson. You get to go skiing with him, or imagine this - have dinner with him and his 12 closest friends for that one million - you still have to pay for dinner but it is an honor. read more

Cool drive up to Conn Valley! The Sycamore lined allée is quite impressive upon arriving at the site. Very friendly and enthusiastic greeting from our host, Dawn. Up to tour the caves and taste quite a few wines. Got to do a little barrel sampling. All told a very nice and informative tasting experience. We joined the club as a few of the cabs here are hard to turn down, especially for the QPR. These wines are value priced, imho. Top quality for less than others we toured. read more

Our visit to Anderson's Conn Valley Vineyards was enjoyable. GPS does not work so it is best to print out directions or gear up GPS before getting close to the location so that you can arrive on time and at the right spot. The tasting took place in the Caves where on a sunny day they take you my golf cart up to the caves or you are more than welcome to drive up with your car. Note: use the restrooms down by the office area before going to the caves. There are literally only portable bathrooms up at the caves. We were seated at a table where we were served crackers and cheese to pair with our tastings. We had a total of 7 wines, with the last tasting straight from the barrel. Our host provided us enough time to enjoy our wines without feeling rushed. They do provide water and a pour bucket as well, if needed. The host provides a little history of the area, not much, so the majority of the time will be spent drinking and eating - but that is what you are in Napa Valley for, right? Overall, a good experience. I would recommend scheduling an appointment for a tasting. If you are red drinker, then Anderson's Conn Valley Vineyards is up your alley as their focus is heavily on reds. Cheers! read more

Yes, I was and still am a fan of their wine, however, I am turned off by the owner Todd Anderson. He is a very proud man, but doesn't believe in taking care of his customers. Unfortunately, in this very competitive world of wine making, his small group of "true" followers may not sustain him. He is know for BIG Cabernet with a smooth finish. Up until now, his Pinot is the only one I like....I did find another winery that bowls him over in the red cataglory. For that info, please see my other reviews. I don't want to turn anyone off from his wine. It's good. But you may want to think twice before committing to his wine club or attending any of his events. read more

Tucked away in a corner of Napa valley is Anderson's Conn Valley. Honestly, when I first went here, I felt that I was going back in time to when Napa was more about wine and wine making by people who really love it rather than booze busses clogging up the streets... What you'll find here is some seriously honest and down to earth people, ready to talk about their passion for wine. Josh, our tour guide, moved us through the vineyard and I was blown away by how much he knew of wines... seriously, I could listen to him talk for hours! He was also generous when we actually started tasting in the caves. What a great experience. Come here if you are seriously interested in learning about wines and ask for Josh. This family owned winery produces one of the finest and wonderful wines that the Napa Valley has to offer. No big show and cheering wedding crowds here, but great Napa Valley terroir along the Conn creek and incredibly skilled Winemakers in the cellar. The wines are an homage to the classic Bordeauxs like the "Right Bank" to a St.Emilion Grang Cru Classe and the "Cabernet Sauvignon Estate Reserve" to a Paulliac, but Todd Anderson and his team took them further to a bold Californian style. Perfect balance in nose, body, fruit and acidity and a long finish. The "Aurum" is their iconic masterpiece with wonderfully silky tannins. Bravo, chapeau ! read more

Fantastic wines, a great and knowledgable tasting team and one of my most favorite settings make Anderson's Conn Valley Vineyards a wonderful and special place. We toured the vineyard in it's total seclusion, silence and peace; tasted in the caves (a must see); and lounged in their upper terrace while finishing off our tasting. I was very surprised and happy at how laid back and relaxed they were and totally committed to their craft. We were never rushed, felt as if we were guests in Todd and Garrett's home, and agreed it was the favorite experience of our whole trip. Unparalleled tasting experience. If I could live there, I would. The grounds are gorgeous, and that's saying something after passing breathtaking scenery on the long road in. Our guide met us at the tasting room, but transported us up to the caves for a seated tasting using nice stems. The first two wines, a Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay, were not my style (though I did enjoy the chard more than the SB). The reds, however, were all stellar, especially the Estate Cab and Eloge. Our lively guide had tremendous insights into the growing and production process, and imbued us with informative and entertaining wine commentary. Once through the bottle tasting, we sampled several barrels, each of which was better than the next. The tasting fee was waived, I assume because we purchased several bottles (not sure if just one would do it, but I wanted to buy far more than I could conceivably afford; simply outstanding sauce). We finished the day on the back patio outside the caves, smoking a cigar, high on life. Easily the best tasting experience I've ever had, and I've had dozens. Already looking forward to my next visit. read more

Awesome place. The drive here is so fun in the winding mountain road. Getting there takes a little patience if you don't have navigation because it's pretty easy to miss. The entrance is just breathtaking and the tasting is awesome. We had our tasting with Tiffany in the cave and it was a great experience. We had about 4 barrel tastings and then 3 whites and 4 reds. If you love Cabs then it is a great place to go. They typically wave the tasting fee if you buy a bottle, i really liked their pinot and brought a bottle home to share with the family. After the tasting Tiffany was kind enough to give us some of their grapes to eat off the vine which were very delicious. read more

On April 28, 2012, I attended Anderson Conn Valley Vineyards' annual Spring Fling party. It was my first winery party and I was not disappointed. All guests enjoyed music and appetizers accompanied by tastings of current releases and some older wines, such as the 2000 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon and black label Cabernet Sauvignon from a block series. All of the wines I tasted were fantastic as always. I have the beginnings of a vertical collection of the Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon and I added the 2009 vintage to my collection. The highlight of the day was a Signature Cabernet Sauvignon tasting and tour in the caves with Todd Anderson, where guests had the opportunity to ask Todd anything about wine and winemaking. read more

Made an appointment here for a tasting for myself and 3 friends. We didn't get much of a tour around the grounds or much information about the winery or the wines. We did do a seated tasting in the cave with I believe her name was Alicia. The setting was nice. Wines were pretty decent and reasonably priced. Unfortunately, about 3 of the 6 we tasted are only available to wine club members. While our group and another couple were tasting, Todd who is one of the owners came by on two separate occasions and took the wines that we had already tasted to another tasting area. So, I guess that meant that there was no opportunity to revisit those wines. Todd told us that he was pouring for a private tasting that was soooo expensive that we couldn't possibly afford it. I thought maybe I was reading that wrong, but my friends all agreed that it was a snobbish remark. The tasting here was $45 per person, which was steep for the meager pours and rushed tasting. It was waived with a $100 purchase if you bought wines that weren't only available to club. We visited 11 wineries in 4 days, and this was the least favorite for everyone in my group. read more

My wife and I had visited ACV on a previous trip and had such a good time and enjoyed their wines so much, we knew we had to come back. This time it was to celebrate my wife's 50th birthday with 22 of her closest friends and family. As can be, sometimes the experience does not always live up to the hype and boy did we ever brag to everyone what a good time they were going to have at Anderson's Conn Valley Vineyards. Well... Our experience not only lived up to, but surpassed our over the top hype to our friends and family. The beautiful winery and equally beautiful wines spoke for themselves, but as is almost always the case, it's the people that take the experience to the next level. Our hosts, Mario & Brandon, not only took care of our large groups every need, but demonstrated passion and knowledge of the highest level. Our group consisted of everything from seasoned Napa travelers to first time visitors. Mario especially, demonstrated an innate ability to relate to each individual at their personal level, exemplifying the stoke and enthusiasm of someone truly in love with his craft. The enthusiasm Mario showed was clearly the driving force behind his vast knowledge and allowed him to not only cover Anderson's Conn Valley Vineyards interesting history, but the history of the Napa wine industry as a whole. You could not ask for a better experience than that provided at Anderson's Conn Valley Vineyards. You do not want to pass on this Vineyard if you are in Napa Thanks Mario and crew! read more

We discovered ACV in the late 90s and nothing else compares. If you can only visit one winery you should take the trip off the beaten path and spend time here. We have been coming back every year and we always learn something new about wine. Todd is blunt but very honest about wine. One of his best pieces of advice, " Remember no matter the label or the price YOU are the expert on what YOU like and don't let anyone else tell you different." It is so refreshing to walk in and just talk to the owner and/or the winemaker without the high pressure to join the club. read more

Our family visited Anderson's Conn Valley last week and the experience was, in a word, incredible. The winery is physically stunning and the wines are among the very best I've ever tasted. We were treated royally...Josh took the time to explain the nuances of wine tasting, discussing each individual wine in depth. Our tour of the caves and the vineyards were the highlight of our trip. Very nice private complimentary wine tasting with the owner, who has been in business for 24 years and self-reportedly has been the first to bring New World wine (think big cabernet sauvignon with well structured tannins that can age 20 years). Humility is not his strong point but he is a welcoming and approachable person. Tasting, by appointment, occurs in a man-made cave where the wine barrels are stored. Depending on availability, the offerings may include exclusive lines such as the Ghost Horse wines (his recently acquired grapes since 2003 but starting at $300 per 750 ml bottle) and his black label line of wine. Most of his wines were good. The 2004 pinot noir was full yet balanced and food friendly. 1999 Eloge, a blend of cabernet sauvignon, cab franc and merlot has nice highlights with structure and a nice long finish. For a nice cab sauvignon, the 2004 has smooth tannins with a lingering finish. The 2005 Fournier chardonnay was decent but was the weakest of the wines sampled that day. Definitely worth a visit but some of the wines are expensive. He is not pushy on the sales. read more

Robert at Anderson's Conn Valley Vineyards delivered an amazing tour!! Everything was spectacular! My wife and I have been on ~20 wine tours in Napa and another dozen in the Willamette Valley, and we both agreed this was by far the best tour we have been on! We enjoyed wine tasting with Robert, the winemaker. He has a wealth of knowledge and produces fantastic wine! He also has a beautiful dog named Jane that reminded us of our dog, which was a nice addition. read more

I had been a wine club member of ACV and frequent visitor for a number of years, but let my membership lapse a few years ago. When visiting the area this past October, my group of 4 visited ACV for a cave tasting. My cousin was celebrating her 65th birthday and this wine tasting was the hit of the trip. The wine was fantastic as always, but the cave, the barrel tastings, and the host made the visit memorable. Needless to say, I am again a club member and getting at least 2 cases per year. read more
