I used Anderson Bros Movers in July of 2024 to move from Walnut Creek to Concord. Three movers showed up and moved my stuff quickly and effectively. I have not been active on Yelp and forgot to write a review. They were on time and between loading, driving and unloading in my new apartment it took less than 3 hours. Their prices were very reasonable. . I requested service via the web. A nice person in the office had me send pictures of my space and they gave me a quote which turned out to be very accurate. I hope their business is thriving because I would sure like to use them again for my next Bay Area move. Thank you Anderson Bros!!! read more

Walt from Walt's Adventures checking in. Change. It is always constant and takes the form of both good and bad much like comedy and tragedy. What makes it tolerable are those who stand by your side. Lawrence and Donald did so from Anderson Bros Movers when they assisted me in moving the bulk of my Headquarters. They worked with me, went beyond and disassembled and reassembled equipment, and each possessed a heart and caring nature that reminded me of my college friends years ago. One might say that they were simply paid to do so but workers are just that while good natured hearts always become obvious. If you are moving in the Bay Area of San Francisco, then do yourself a favor and accept the hand outreached before you. They make change not only tolerable but easier. read more

An update-our move in went as smoothly as our move out. We also had them unpack us and remove all boxes and packing materials-so great to get rid of that!! Two items had slight dings but not bad for everything that was delivered from storage. read more

Excellent Service! I will hire them again. They are fast, professional and know their business more than anyone else! I am grateful to have found them. Karl came to my apartment and assessed everything about the move with attention to detail and great experience! Totally recommend them. Everyone dollar spent is worth it! Thank you so much Anderson Bros Movers. I am writing this review two year after my move and still have a great memory of their service and a heart full of gratitude ! read more

FLAWLESS! This is our second move with Anderson. They are absolute pros. Many of the movers have been with them for years. We had the same crew that we had 3 years ago. The team was great, patient and best customer service. These men moved my aunt from Concord to Davis. They loaded up everything, even asked questions if they were unsure. I like how they did the walk through with her. Unloading was awesome. There was a piece missing for my aunts chair. They went back to Concord and drove back to Davis. BEST MOVERS. I have moved many times in my life and this had to be the most organized, polite, patient and quick group. Great prices. 5 STARS+++ read more

We had an excellent experience with Karl and his team. All services were done timely, below promised cost with very friendly and helpful workers who handled both the packing and unpacking for us. Not a single item was damaged or broken, and we were able to fit everything into the truck with the exception of one long ladder that we left behind. I would heartily recommend Anderson Movers to anyone moving in/around the East Bay. read more

Do not hire this company for your moving needs. They fabricated a story, then harassed me with demand letters and now are threatening to take me to court. I would be very cautious about doing business with these people. read more

If you've ever moved before you know the process can be unpleasant and overwhelming at best. I have used this company on numerous occasions and would highly recommend Karl, Stephanie and team to anyone looking to get started on the right foot! Anderson Bros. Really have this thing dialed in. They are organized and professional while being very understanding of your individual needs. In this day and age it is rare to meet an "owner" who comes out to the home to complete your initial estimate. Karl likes to get a feel for your specific needs and carries that over to the team for a very strategic experience. This will be my third move with Anderson Bros. And I find myself referring them to others. You owe it to yourself to contact these guys for your next move! read more

Anderson moved my belongings from a third floor apartment, in Walnut Creek, to my home in Concord, on September 23, 2022. On my initial phone conversation with Lee, I relayed that I didn't have a large amount to move, and there would be no boxes, just empty furniture. she "walked me around my apartment," and I told her exactly what items I had, to be moved. she knew, from that information, what size truck, and how many movers to dispatch. Lawrence, who was the lead, presented the necessary paperwork, to be signed, upon he, and Donald's arrival. These men knew exactly what they were doing, and seriously, beyond lightning fast. Both men were consummate professionals, yet down-to-earth, and fun to converse with. They were just as quick, and efficient, throughout the unloading process, at my house. They always asked where I would like my furniture placed, set-up my Sleep Number bed, and Lawrence, even presented me with a bottle of Korbel champagne, after we settled-up, the very fair, and reasonable moving charges. As the story goes; the gifting of Korbel champagne, is something that Anderson has been doing since the company's inception. First cabin, all the way....... I'm so pleased that I now have a mover to add to my trusted vendor list. Platinum! read more

We recently had Anderson Bros move my parents from their home of 57 years. It was quite an emotional, overwhelming experience, and the Anderson Bros crew made it as easy and pleasant as I think it could possibly have been. From the scheduler on the phone, the estimator who came out (twice!) before the move, to the movers themselves, everyone was pleasant, efficient, patient, and kind. The moving crew was especially careful and a pleasure to work with. I am still in awe of their strength and seemingly endless energy! I would happily hire Anderson Bros again. Thank you!! read more

Karl Anderson is by far one of the most honest, genuine individuals I've had the pleasure of meeting. My experience with him was when I was employed as a Concierge at a Senior community in Concord. He moved a great many residents in over the 10 years I was employed. I have been retired for 6 years now, but would not hesitate for a moment to give him 5 star rating, 10 if it were available!!!!!!!! read more

This company is AWESOME! Anderson Bros Movers helped me move from a 2-story family home in Martinez to my new 2-story town home in Benicia. They also helped my Dad with some internal moves (moving his bed and a super-heavy bureau from downstairs to upstairs). And they did it all in under 2 hours! The movers were fast, friendly, strong, efficient, cute (whoops -- did I just say that?), and they came in right on quote. This is especially appreciated because I called them in desperation on Saturday afternoon after some other movers had to back out. I spoke to Mr. Anderson by phone, and he said he could have a crew here first thing Monday morning. And he did. And they were great. I will definitely use Anderson Bros Movers again! read more

My husband first used Anderson Brothers for a move back in 1987 (in San Francisco). Then in 1997 he used them again, to store his whole apartment full of furniture, art etc. Last week (April 2014) they moved that household full of stuff out of storage and delivered it to our new (temporary) storage & sorting facility, rented in Richmond CA. This company is outstanding for many reasons. Its long-term employees are professional movers -- they know how to do their job. It's family owned and operated, not some group of annoyed, temporary or "franchise" employees of some giant, faceless meta-corporation. My husband (and now both of us) are both so appreciative of the businesslike way Anderson Brothers always provides its excellent service, not to mention the kindness and attentiveness of everyone in the company, and the excellent, gentle and intelligent job EVERYONE has always done. Everything has always been packed professionally and has come out perfect. This is called PAYING ATTENTION! So, e can't thank Anderson Brothers Movers enough for all they've done for us. They are more than "just a business" -- they are really into what they do, and into service. A great group of good people. Sterling & Berkeley read more

These guys are GREAT. Moving? It sucks. The team from Anderson Bros literally were a BRIGHT SPOT for our relocating from the Bay Area to El Dorado County. Having not moved in 14 years, I had to look up - what constituted tip-worthiness when you're already planning on spending $X for your move. Here are the measuring sticks I used, and why Tyler, Heath, and Lawrence (our fantastic movers) deserved my usual...lavish tip: * Complexity of move. New house has steep, curved driveway that's inaccessible and a winding staircase. Old place, narrow stairway that if navigated poorly - would result in damage. The guys navigated my ridiculous couches *expertly* through the old & new homes to place them exactly where I wanted them...even when we changed mind re: placement. Steep & curved @destination? No joke. Their truck with a side barn door made unloading FAR easier than it otherwise would've been. Hats off to the guys. * White-glove customer service. Me? I'm an ass. I don't like multiple strangers being around my better half and these three guys were so pleasant to be around that they disarmed my US Marine kookiness *completely*. EVERY interaction we had with all three of them was just plain cool. Fun, even. Professional. Cool. My guess as to why: being around GOOD PEOPLE is easy. That they were professional, paid attention to detail, and saved us from ourselves several times? A nice bonus. Respect for our belongings? OBVIOUS. And...very cool. * How they handled move day conditions. Shared townhouse parking stinks. They parked sensibly, perfectly, without needing to be told - blocking no one in. There were no big surprises to speak of, but that's likely due in part to Karl (Anderson) having personally inspected my old home before committing to anything. His team arrived to a well-prepared pick-up address and delivered to an equally prepared destination. Why? Karl. read more

Karl Anderson and his crew have done an outstanding job for my clients. They take the greatest care when moving an apartment or an entire home. 7 men, as promised showed up on time and with exception of a brief lunch break worked hard and efficiently from 9am - 4pm. Nothing damaged. The Anderson team was polite and professional. The owner Carl Anderson came to our home provided the proposal and did a good job of explaining why's and wherefore's of moving. Not the least expensive bid we received but given the terrific job, no breakage great staff? well worth it! Highly Recommend read more

I used them on a realtor's recommendation. Had to fire them after packing and storage. They went way over the not-to-exceed estimate, and told me "boxes aren't free" and "we're not into change orders." Well, I want a change order for many hundreds of dollars upcharge. I will complement the crews that did the work. Very careful and professional. read more

I've used Anderson Brothers twice. Karl Anderson has come out personally to provide an estimate and BOTH times the end price was LOWER than he estimated. The process was clear and the move was effortless for me. They brought empty boxes in advance of the move (I only used and paid for what I needed) and on the day of the move, the guys really took care to clear out only the items that were going and disassembled furniture as needed. The packing was efficient (they even packed my closets for me, I thought I would do that) and the unpacking was faster than I imagined, even though I hadn't labeled all my boxes properly. They started at 9am and were done by 3pm for an 1800 sq ft house. I won't use anyone else to do my moves. If you have a complicated move, the best option is to clearly label (I used a yellow post-it indicating stuff that stays, blue for those that go to storage) so that the boxes can be handled easily without intervention. I've used other movers and these guys are professionals. Karl even gave me tips on how to lower the cost of my move (i.e. take the lampshades over yourself otherwise I'll have to charge you for a fragile item). I can't ask for anything better than a mover who's honest, competent, and efficient. read more

Anderson Brothers moved us from our house into storage in April, 2014 as part of a complex move from a big house into a small apartment and a storage locker while we looked for a new, smaller, house to move to. For unimportant reasons, we couldn't use Anderson Bros for the move into the apartment so we used different movers for different parts of the move. The move itself went very well. The movers were on time, friendly, and capable and the bid was accurate. Once we moved in to our new home in July and our things were moved from storage into our new house, we discovered a few damaged items. I reported the damage to both Anderson Brothers and to the other mover writing identical letters and sending identical pictures of the damage. The responses I got were very different. Anderson's response: Carl Anderson personally came to my house and looked at the damaged items. Two of the items were scratched furniture. he said the damage could have happened any time and might not have been caused by his movers. He said they could be buffed out and that, even though he denied having any responsibility, he would come back "as a courtesy" to take care of them both. The third item was a broken rocking chair. Mr. Anderson flatly denied any responsibility because two moving companies had handled the item. Throughout his entire visit I felt like he thought I was trying to get away with something. No one from Anderson ever called back to schedule a return visit to buff out the scratches. The other mover's response: It took them longer to call but when they did, they simply said "we'll take care of it". On the scheduled visit, a craftsman arrived with tools in hand. He never mentioned the fact that there were two moving companies involved. Instead, he buffed out the two scratched pieces on the spot. He then took the broken rocking chair with him and said he'd fix it in his shop and return it when it was repaired. One week later, the rocking chair was returned to me, fixed nicely, and is in use in my home. No questions asked. Which moving company do you think I'll recommend to my friends? By the way, the other company - the one with great customer service - was Shamrock Movers. read more

I cannot say enough about how great this company is. Everyone we interacted with was pleasant, extremely professional, hard-working, and thoughtful. The estimator was very thorough and took the time to walk through every element of our move, give advice about how to make the process go smoothly, and provide a detailed estimate. He also recommended crating a very precious stained glass window that was made by my grandparents to ensure that it would not be damaged in any way (it wasn't!), which I never would have thought about. The movers themselves were some of the nicest, most thoughtful, and considerate people I have ever met. Each one introduced himself to me and shook my hand, asked questions along the way to make sure that they were putting items in the right place, handled our belongings with care, and did a walkthrough at the end to make sure everything was complete. I was very impressed and could not have asked for a better crew! Moving is so stressful and Anderson Bros made everything so much easier. I highly recommend them! read more

Moving is the absolute worst, BUT if you hire Anderson Bros it will be so much easier!! Sooooo much easier! I really can't say enough about how amazing this company is. From the initial quote, to the patience with my millions of questions while packing (thank you, Stephanie!)... every person I interacted with was helpful, informative and friendly. When the movers showed up on move day, each team member introduced himself to me and shook my hand. They asked questions right away and explained how they worked to make sure our day went as smoothly as possible. They complimented my planning and preparedness even though I know the house was a total train wreck (I was too, but they were so nice and accommodating, they made me feel at ease on such a stressful day). They took the time to be sure everything was where it belonged, and asked me to walk through the house to make sure I didn't need anything else before they left. I was so pleased with their professionalism and kindness. They worked hard, they took less time than I anticipated, and NOTHING was damaged in the move (I'm 75% unpacked right now). They were respectful of my belongings, patient when I wasn't quite sure where I wanted something, and just overall great people. I cannot begin to tell you how impressed I was with Anderson Brothers. Karl was charming and professional when he came to give me an estimate. In a single word - AWESOME!! Without hesitation or reservation I would absolutely recommend this company in you need a moving company. Karl did an excellent job both explaining the ins-and-outs of the moving process, was extremely thorough in his estimate for how much everything would cost and the entire office staff was responsive and professional. The gentlemen the company sent to move us could not have been better. They were on time - early actually - courteous, professional, efficient, friendly, and made a move I was dreading a breeze. I think my wife summed it up best when she said "best money we ever spent." Thank you Anderson Bros. Moving - would happily recommend you to any future customers. read more

Anderson Brothers was recommended to me by my realtor. They moved me from Walnut Creek to Martinez in September and I could not be more pleased with the service they provided. From the initial phone call to schedule the moving day and make the appointment for a pre-move assessment, to the day of the move itself, things were handled smoothly and efficiently. The owner, Karl Anderson came to my house for the pre-assessment, walked every room with me to look at my belongings and explain how they would be handled, and then sat down to explain the cost estimate and the moving process. Three men arrived exactly on time on the day of the move and did an excellent job "packaging" the furniture to protect it during loading and unloading of the truck. It is important to note that each person who comes into your house is an Anderson Bros. employee, i.e. they do not hire "day laborers" who aren't vetted and company-trained employees. They were personable, efficient, communicated well, and were gentle with my belongings. At the new location, they were patient with me, allowed me to measure distances with my tape measure, and then happily readjusted the location of several pieces of furniture to get them placed where I wanted them. Moving is stressful. Anderson Bros. did an excellent job making the process happen as smoothly as possible, and I highly recommend them. read more

Anderson Bro moved me from my 4th story condo in Walnut Creek to my new two story home in Danville. They are the only mover which came out to give me a hand written, not to exceed quote per the California PUC. Everyone else tried to tell me they are hourly and do not provide no to exceed quote. Other movers also did not come out to my condo to estimate. This is essential. The other movers also wanted to nickel and dime me for tape ..etc. Mr. Anderson is quite the businessman and provides you with all the necessary information to make a good decision. During move day, Lawrence, Heath and Tim were quick, efficient, helpful and kind. They took care of all my belongings along with the floor and walls of my condo and new home. They placed ever piece of furniture as I desired. I packed all my own belongings and moved a majority of my things prior to move day but really appreciated their help for all the big ticket items and furniture. They also came in well under the not to exceed quote. $689 instead of $1102. Next move I will definitely use them again. Thank you Anderson Bros. read more

Anderson Brothers did an excellent job of meeting my needs. I needed to get my mother's stuff moved from her assisted living apartment moved from one room to another. They did the move efficiently and fast. I thought it would be a difficult job but they just picked up a dresser, chest, bed and moved it. We didn't have to remove any drawers or remove any of the stuff on top of the dresser. Their price was less by $100 from other moving companies I called. I still gave them a 5 but I was told they would be coming at 10 am and they came at 9 am but no big deal. We really needed a small van to move a futon, table and chair to my house but they brought a large truck. Again, no big deal because it was no extra cost except for fuel charge. I would use them again and recommend their services. The guys were great, efficient and friendly. read more

These guys are unbelievably great. "Professional" doesn't even do them justice. Due to a promotion, we quickly had to uproot from the Bay area to Sacramento. Renting a U-Haul and doing the move ourselves would have run us at least 500...not to mention some serious frustration, aches, and time. Anderson Bros saved us all the headaches for only 150 more than the U-Haul rental. I would've paid that for someone just to move the couch. After 6 moves in ten years (without movers), I have nothing but contempt for that couch. Lawrence and Tim were the absolute best. Genuinely nice fellas and top-notch at their job. Not a single problem, delay, or scratch...and they did it all in the rain. Can't recommend them enough. Oh, did I mention, after everything was done, they surprised us with a bottle of champagne as a house-warming gift? Yeah, that happened. Well-worth every penny. read more

I absolutely can't believe this company did anything to warrant a 1 star review. Ever since I moved from my apartment I have been telling everybody that this was the BEST $300 I have ever spent. Multiple realtors and insurance agents have recommended them to me and I recommended them to my brother (who trusts no one with his stuff). As a single girl, I was impressed by the courtesy and respect of the movers and their care with my belongings. Everything was done perfectly and way ahead of the minimum time. The bottle of sparkling wine after the move was a very classy touch. Thanks Anderson brothers! read more

I always recommend Anderson Bros to my clients. Recently a client met with Karl and was planning on going ahead but had a last minute date change they weren't able to accommodate. When I checked in with her the following week, the first words out of her mouth were "I should have gone with Andersons". Long story but key points are a truck stuck on the hill and still unloading at 3 am. This would not have happened if she'd used Anderson - they are always professional, prepared and prompt. So sorry she had to experience "the other guys" to understand why I recommend Anderson Bros. read more

Can't say enough good things about Anderson Movers! During the estimate visit we were given all kinds of good advise and a complete detailed estimate. The packing crew showed up on time and worked like demons packing up all our pictures and kitchen items. Amazingly fast yet carefully! Jim and Steve great! The next day Jim,Steve and Cliff came to load and took care to not scrap our freshly painted walls and emptied our house quickly and efficiently. Constantly asked how they could help and took the time to extra pack key items. They filled the truck in less time then I would have thought possible On delivery day Jim,Steve, with help from Keith showed up on time and unloaded and helped set up our belongings. Every item was placed just where we wanted it and they cheerfully moved some items a second time when we changed our mind as to where it should go. The final bill was less then the estimate and I had thought the estimate to be fair and reasonable. These guys made our move much less work then I would have thought and we enjoyed having them in our home[s]. By all means use Anderson Movers! read more

We recently moved within the Bay Area and had the *perfect* moving experience with Anderson.
