I used Anderson Bros Movers in July of 2024 to move from Walnut Creek to Concord. Three movers showed up and moved my stuff quickly and effectively. I have not been active on Yelp and forgot to write a review. They were on time and between loading, driving and unloading in my new apartment it took less than 3 hours. Their prices were very reasonable. . I requested service via the web. A nice person in the office had me send pictures of my space and they gave me a quote which turned out to be very accurate. Anderson moved my belongings from a third floor apartment, in Walnut Creek, to my home in Concord, on September 23, 2022. On my initial phone conversation with Lee, I relayed that I didn't have a large amount to move, and there would be no boxes, just empty furniture. she "walked me around my apartment," and I told her exactly what items I had, to be moved. she knew, from that information, what size truck, and how many movers to dispatch. Lawrence, who was the lead, presented the necessary paperwork, to be signed, upon he, and Donald's arrival. These men knew exactly what they were doing, and seriously, beyond lightning fast. Both men were consummate professionals, yet down-to-earth, and fun to converse with. They were just as quick, and efficient, throughout the unloading process, at my house. They always asked where I would like my furniture placed, set-up my Sleep Number bed, and Lawrence, even presented me with a bottle of Korbel champagne, after we settled-up, the very fair, and reasonable moving charges. As the story goes; the gifting of Korbel champagne, is something that Anderson has been doing since the company's inception. First cabin, all the way....... These guys are GREAT. Moving? It sucks. The team from Anderson Bros literally were a BRIGHT SPOT for our relocating from the Bay Area to El Dorado County. Having not moved in 14 years, I had to look up - what constituted tip-worthiness when you're already planning on spending $X for your move. Here are the measuring sticks I used, and why Tyler, Heath, and Lawrence (our fantastic movers) deserved my usual...lavish tip: * Complexity of move. New house has steep, curved driveway that's inaccessible and a winding staircase. Old place, narrow stairway that if navigated poorly - would result in damage. The guys navigated my ridiculous couches *expertly* through the old & new homes to place them exactly where I wanted them...even when we changed mind re: placement. Steep & curved @destination? No joke. Their truck with a side barn door made unloading FAR easier than it otherwise would've been. Hats off to the guys. * White-glove customer service. Me? I'm an ass. I don't like multiple strangers being around my better half and these three guys were so pleasant to be around that they disarmed my US Marine kookiness *completely*. EVERY interaction we had with all three of them was just plain cool. Fun, even. Professional. Cool. My guess as to why: being around GOOD PEOPLE is easy. That they were professional, paid attention to detail, and saved us from ourselves several times? A nice bonus. Respect for our belongings? OBVIOUS. And...very cool. * How they handled move day conditions. Shared townhouse parking stinks. They parked sensibly, perfectly, without needing to be told - blocking no one in. There were no big surprises to speak of, but that's likely due in part to Karl (Anderson) having personally inspected my old home before committing to anything. This company is AWESOME! Anderson Bros Movers helped me move from a 2-story family home in Martinez to my new 2-story town home in Benicia. They also helped my Dad with some internal moves (moving his bed and a super-heavy bureau from downstairs to upstairs). And they did it all in under 2 hours! My husband first used Anderson Brothers for a move back in 1987 (in San Francisco). Then in 1997 he used them again, to store his whole apartment full of furniture, art etc. Last week (April 2014) they moved that household full of stuff out of storage and delivered it to our new (temporary) storage & sorting facility, rented in Richmond CA. This company is outstanding for many reasons. Its long-term employees are professional movers -- they know how to do their job. It's family owned and operated, not some group of annoyed, temporary or "franchise" employees of some giant, faceless meta-corporation. My husband (and now both of us) are both so appreciative of the businesslike way Anderson Brothers always provides its excellent service, not to mention the kindness and attentiveness of everyone in the company, and the excellent, gentle and intelligent job EVERYONE has always done. I've used Anderson Brothers twice. Karl Anderson has come out personally to provide an estimate and BOTH times the end price was LOWER than he estimated. The process was clear and the move was effortless for me. They brought empty boxes in advance of the move (I only used and paid for what I needed) and on the day of the move, the guys really took care to clear out only the items that were going and disassembled furniture as needed. The packing was efficient (they even packed my closets for me, I thought I would do that) and the unpacking was faster than I imagined, even though I hadn't labeled all my boxes properly. They started at 9am and were done by 3pm for an 1800 sq ft house. I won't use anyone else to do my moves. If you have a complicated move, the best option is to clearly label (I used a yellow post-it indicating stuff that stays, blue for those that go to storage) so that the boxes can be handled easily without intervention. I've used other movers and these guys are professionals. Karl even gave me tips on how to lower the cost of my move (i.e. take the lampshades over yourself otherwise I'll have to charge you for a fragile item). I can't ask for anything better than a mover who's honest, competent, and efficient. read more

Anderson Brothers moved us from our house into storage in April, 2014 as part of a complex move from a big house into a small apartment and a storage locker while we looked for a new, smaller, house to move to. For unimportant reasons, we couldn't use Anderson Bros for the move into the apartment so we used different movers for different parts of the move. The move itself went very well. The movers were on time, friendly, and capable and the bid was accurate. Once we moved in to our new home in July and our things were moved from storage into our new house, we discovered a few damaged items. I reported the damage to both Anderson Brothers and to the other mover writing identical letters and sending identical pictures of the damage. The responses I got were very different. Anderson's response: Carl Anderson personally came to my house and looked at the damaged items. Two of the items were scratched furniture. he said the damage could have happened any time and might not have been caused by his movers. He said they could be buffed out and that, even though he denied having any responsibility, he would come back "as a courtesy" to take care of them both. The third item was a broken rocking chair. Mr. Anderson flatly denied any responsibility because two moving companies had handled the item. Throughout his entire visit I felt like he thought I was trying to get away with something. No one from Anderson ever called back to schedule a return visit to buff out the scratches. The other mover's response: It took them longer to call but when they did, they simply said "we'll take care of it". On the scheduled visit, a craftsman arrived with tools in hand. He never mentioned the fact that there were two moving companies involved. Instead, he buffed out the two scratched pieces on the spot. He then took the broken rocking chair with him and said he'd fix it in his shop and return it when it was repaired. One week later, the rocking chair was returned to me, fixed nicely, and is in use in my home. No questions asked. Which moving company do you think I'll recommend to my friends? I cannot say enough about how great this company is. Everyone we interacted with was pleasant, extremely professional, hard-working, and thoughtful. The estimator was very thorough and took the time to walk through every element of our move, give advice about how to make the process go smoothly, and provide a detailed estimate. He also recommended crating a very precious stained glass window that was made by my grandparents to ensure that it would not be damaged in any way (it wasn't!), which I never would have thought about. The movers themselves were some of the nicest, most thoughtful, and considerate people I have ever met. Each one introduced himself to me and shook my hand, asked questions along the way to make sure that they were putting items in the right place, handled our belongings with care, and did a walkthrough at the end to make sure everything was complete. Anderson Brothers was recommended to me by my realtor. They moved me from Walnut Creek to Martinez in September and I could not be more pleased with the service they provided. From the initial phone call to schedule the moving day and make the appointment for a pre-move assessment, to the day of the move itself, things were handled smoothly and efficiently. The owner, Karl Anderson came to my house for the pre-assessment, walked every room with me to look at my belongings and explain how they would be handled, and then sat down to explain the cost estimate and the moving process. Three men arrived exactly on time on the day of the move and did an excellent job "packaging" the furniture to protect it during loading and unloading of the truck. It is important to note that each person who comes into your house is an Anderson Bros. employee, i.e. they do not hire "day laborers" who aren't vetted and company-trained employees. They were personable, efficient, communicated well, and were gentle with my belongings. At the new location, they were patient with me, allowed me to measure distances with my tape measure, and then happily readjusted the location of several pieces of furniture to get them placed where I wanted them. Anderson Brothers did an excellent job of meeting my needs. I needed to get my mother's stuff moved from her assisted living apartment moved from one room to another. They did the move efficiently and fast. I thought it would be a difficult job but they just picked up a dresser, chest, bed and moved it. We didn't have to remove any drawers or remove any of the stuff on top of the dresser. Their price was less by $100 from other moving companies I called. I still gave them a 5 but I was told they would be coming at 10 am and they came at 9 am but no big deal. We really needed a small van to move a futon, table and chair to my house but they brought a large truck. Again, no big deal because it was no extra cost except for fuel charge. Anderson Bro moved me from my 4th story condo in Walnut Creek to my new two story home in Danville. They are the only mover which came out to give me a hand written, not to exceed quote per the California PUC. Everyone else tried to tell me they are hourly and do not provide no to exceed quote. Other movers also did not come out to my condo to estimate. This is essential. The other movers also wanted to nickel and dime me for tape ..etc. Mr. Anderson is quite the businessman and provides you with all the necessary information to make a good decision. During move day, Lawrence, Heath and Tim were quick, efficient, helpful and kind. They took care of all my belongings along with the floor and walls of my condo and new home. They placed ever piece of furniture as I desired. I packed all my own belongings and moved a majority of my things prior to move day but really appreciated their help for all the big ticket items and furniture. These guys are unbelievably great. "Professional" doesn't even do them justice. Due to a promotion, we quickly had to uproot from the Bay area to Sacramento. Renting a U-Haul and doing the move ourselves would have run us at least 500...not to mention some serious frustration, aches, and time. Anderson Bros saved us all the headaches for only 150 more than the U-Haul rental. I would've paid that for someone just to move the couch. After 6 moves in ten years (without movers), I have nothing but contempt for that couch. Lawrence and Tim were the absolute best. Genuinely nice fellas and top-notch at their job. Not a single problem, delay, or scratch...and they did it all in the rain. Can't recommend them enough. I absolutely can't believe this company did anything to warrant a 1 star review. Ever since I moved from my apartment I have been telling everybody that this was the BEST $300 I have ever spent. Multiple realtors and insurance agents have recommended them to me and I recommended them to my brother (who trusts no one with his stuff). As a single girl, I was impressed by the courtesy and respect of the movers and their care with my belongings. Everything was done perfectly and way ahead of the minimum time. Can't say enough good things about Anderson Movers! During the estimate visit we were given all kinds of good advise and a complete detailed estimate. The packing crew showed up on time and worked like demons packing up all our pictures and kitchen items. Amazingly fast yet carefully! Jim and Steve great! The next day Jim,Steve and Cliff came to load and took care to not scrap our freshly painted walls and emptied our house quickly and efficiently. Constantly asked how they could help and took the time to extra pack key items. They filled the truck in less time then I would have thought possible On delivery day Jim,Steve, with help from Keith showed up on time and unloaded and helped set up our belongings. Every item was placed just where we wanted it and they cheerfully moved some items a second time when we changed our mind as to where it should go. The final bill was less then the estimate and I had thought the estimate to be fair and reasonable.
