The place requires a code and bluetooth to get into the storage space ( depending on your floor). The inside is clean, and has temperature control. Most people who also come here are nice and follow the rules. I think my only problem is that they only seem to have 2 rolling carts and they seem to always be in use. Now Public storage as a company has awful customer service and the hold times have been up to 45 minutes for me in the past. But this actual facility is well kept and secure.

Disappointing Experience Handling a Rat Infestation…read more I have been renting a unit at Public Storage on Pacheco Blvd in Martinez since January 2026. Unfortunately, in early June, I discovered evidence of a rat infestation affecting my storage unit. I found what appears to be rodent contamination on items stored inside my unit, despite the fact that I do not store food, pet food, or anything else that would reasonably attract rodents. As soon as I discovered the issue, I notified the property manager, Alex. To his credit, he agreed that pest remediation was needed. However, more than two weeks have passed since I reported the problem, and as of this review, no pest control company has been brought in to address the rat issue. The delay has been frustrating, especially considering the potential risk to customers' belongings. I also requested to be moved to a clean, unaffected unit at no additional cost. Alex relayed my request to the district manager, Billy, who ultimately denied the request. I was disappointed that no reasonable accommodation was offered, particularly given the circumstances and the ongoing concerns about contamination. What bothers me most is not that rodents were found at the facility. Unfortunately, pests can be a problem anywhere. What matters is how management responds when a customer discovers a problem. In my case, I reported the issue immediately, asked for help, and proposed reasonable solutions. Instead, I have been left waiting while the problem remains unresolved. Customers rent storage units because they expect a clean and secure environment for their belongings. If you are considering renting at this location, I recommend asking detailed questions about pest control procedures, response times, and available options if your unit is affected by rodents. I hope Public Storage takes this feedback seriously and improves how these situations are handled going forward. At a minimum, customers deserve timely action, clear communication, and practical solutions when problems like this arise.

We sent our kitchen assembly instructions ahead of time to make sure they were aware. My overall sense is that Carlos is fairly capable and experienced but either his team or him are not as careful as we had damages to our finished wood toe kicks and our lacquer cabinets looked like they had been dragged over nails as they were being assembled. I didn't appreciate that they made 0 mention of it at all and I had to point it out. As the homeowner, I essentially had to baby sit them for 5 days through the install since it felt like they were incapable / unwilling to read the kitchen cabinet installation instructions in detail and I caught several mistakes early on during the cabinet assembly that made me hesitant to leave it unattended. Carlos's attitude was particularly bad through the entire experience as well. Always made it seem like we were inconveniencing him or being too nit picky even if we caught some mistakes. At one point, he even threatened to quit after the assembly but before the installation simply because he had underestimated the complexity of the project. We did have a 1 day delay due to some plumbing / electrical issues but that's pretty typical as far as kitchen cabinet installations go AFAIK. In the end, they were able to get all the kitchen cabinets installed, albeit with a lot of effort from my end due to the more custom nature of the project. The price was affordable and the work was solid (minus the scratches) but for me the bad attitude wasn't worth it.

I cannot say enough about this company! I am a very non-trusting person so it really takes a lot to impress me. I can say that Waters has done this. My family and I made an appt for Waters to come give us a bid. Ed (Sales Mgr) was on time, polite and very professional. He took his time and LISTENED! I was very worried about my valuable items being broken...Ed had the bid to us the next morning and was very pleasant when I called to ask further questions that I had thought of overnight. When the crew arrived...They were all very professional and pleasant. Everyone introduced one another and they also made my family and I feel comfortable that we had made the right choice. (We interviewed 4 moving companies). The crew packed our home and also moved it to our new home. NOTHING was broken or damaged. This crew also finished the job almost an hour before the estimated end time. This company was well worth the money! (Out of the 4 companies that gave us a bid...They were 2nd to the lowest.) I am appalled. The representative who showed up was a young arrogant kid who, by the way was not only late, but he denied my request to conduct his business quietly. He said he didn't have to adhere to noise violations after 8:00 AM, I greatly respect my Pleasant Hill neighbors so this did not sit well with me. He made it clear that my concerns in a quiet Pleasant Hill neighborhood was of no concern to him! Worse, their truck arrived at my brand new home and after inspecting the residence, failed to lay down any protective liners. He rolled his hand truck in over brand new laminate flooring with absolutely no regard to scratching it. This young "mover" actually laughed at my concern as he conducted "wheelies" on the brand new flooring of my kitchen with his hand truck, which marred it with scratches that to this day cannot be removed. We've had to cover it up wit a rug. BTW: Even at my verbal and alarming concern to stop, he refused to place protective floor covering at my request; and continued to mar my new floors at will. Our day started with the crew showing up all prepared and ready to go with truck, men and equipment. We had no idea how our move was going to progress but we could not have been happier to find out that our moving crew knew exactly what to do and all we needed to do was supervise where things went. We couldn't believe that the six man crew could have everything in our house packed and in the trucks ready to go before 4 o'clock in the afternoon. The next morning they took all of our belongings on a long road trip up to Placerville from Walnut Creek starting their day at 5am. They showed up with plenty of energy and a few extra men. The day began with everything flowing smoothly and with smiles on everybody's faces. By 1:30, the crew was done and on their way home and here we were with all of our belongings safe and in place for us to unpack. We Highly recommend Waters Moving to everyone that is planning a move. We just used Waters & I will continue to refer all friends to them go forward! We bought a new house but due to rent back timing we had to fully move out of our home, store our belongings for 6 weeks, and then move again. Waters was phenomenal on all accounts. They came over, took inventory, and provided us with a quote. On the day of move out, they were on time, quick, professional, and tolerated our kids running around the whole time. Storage was reasonable & we were even given a free month coupon that we used for our first month. On move in day at our new home, again they showed up on time, were courteous, asked us where we wanted things placed. We did a final walk through & I had them move several things around & even back downstairs. They could not have been nicer or more accommodating. My only tiny gripe is that some of our furniture pieces were scratched, but I think you have to expect that if moving no matter the case. I could not have asked for more efficient, polite, hard-working movers. The office staff was great and really easy to communicate with and the estimate was completely accurate and professional but it was the movers who put this company over the edge. Even with a couple of loops being thrown at us during the move, they were incredibly professional and made the emotion experience of dismantling my office and moving it across the Bay so easy. The other thing that I found noteworthy was just how cheerful the guys were and how kind they were to one another. Waters sent out a crew of about 6 or 8 guys (there were so many, I lost track) and they just tackled the office and had me out of there super fast. I could even hear them singing in the hallway. Likewise, when we got to Oakland, they had my new office filled up in the blink of an eye and were off to the next stop, no muss no fuss. I am so happy with my move. After having some awful experiences with movers, I have become very gun shy. I am pleased to say that our experience could not have been more positive with the service and care provided by Waters. We had to pack up our home so that the wood floors could be refinished. Waters's team (headed by Frank and Corey) came in and did a stellar job. Everything was carefully and meticulously packed, carried, and placed in the two rented pods. Then two weeks later, Corey's team returned and gently moved everything back into the house. They were so accommodating and helpful; making sure that the newly refinished floors were protected; asking if items were placed exactly how we wanted; letting me clean the dust off before placing, etc. With some of our fussy antiques, they took the time to make sure everything was just right. They do everything right. Guaranteed the rate. Arrived on time (if not early) and delivered on time (if not early). Scott and his team were wonderful. Took great care with my possessions and packed them and shrink wrapped as needed. I had 35 years of household to move. The truck was 46 ft long and it was packed solid. Only one small dish was broken which was a result of my careless packing. It was long drive for the truck - about 11 hours and not a complaint. I want to thank Waters TEAM for making our move a successful one. Starting with Abel who came in to do a walk through of our house and nailed it on the number of totes we need. The quote was reasonable. Certain things are extra but they don't nickel n dimes you to death. Megan is outstanding in following through - very prompt and always answered what was asked-even on weekends. Moving day was led by Alfredo. They arrived on time, everyone was present. We made a date for the move, the packing crew showed up on time and were very courteous and careful. The next day the moving crew showed up on time and moved the household items to a large moving truck/trailer. The crew was polite and careful with furniture tools and boxed items. The next morning we all arrived at the destination early in the morning. The crew unloaded the truck and was done in a short time. Everything arrived in good order, nothing was damaged or broken. This company is a joke, and i will explain why....They do not pay the employees travel time to the first job, and coming home from the last job..This is clearly illegal!!!!! I am not sure about The actual service of the company, But i would never consider a company that doesnt treat there employees legally.....If an employer tells you to report to the business premises at 6:30am, Then the employees clock starts at 6:30am.. I just had a 3min phone conversation with one of the guys working there, and his attitude was i dont care if its illegal, This is how we do things here. I would never work, nor call them for services. its a shame that the employees spend 2-4 hrs a day in that company truck for free, Just because some junk company wants to break laws. this company is lucky they are not dealing with a bunch of Labor board claims. read more

I seriously cannot say enough awesome things about Waters. From Chris in the office, to Ed coming by the house and giving us a super competitive quote, to our drivers Alfredo and David, to the 7 person crew who arrived at our house. They were incredibly courteous, quick, efficient, clean, and VERY careful with our belongings. The quote they gave us in the beginning was the quote to the end. No games, no furniture was held for "ransom" at the end. When they moved us out, they were so clean, there was literally one screw left on the floor. That's it. I was afraid that for our out-of-state move we were sure to have some broken items. Nope! Nothing broke. Nothing! I would most definitely use Waters again! I just moved and had a really wonderful experience with Waters Moving. I was nervous and had stipulations (wrapping everything! in the house) and they rose to the occasion. Down to earth but very experienced and professional. They also were competitively priced. I can't say enough good things about this entire company. Ask for Abel Gonzales. Waters made an emotional move from our home of 25 years as easy as it could possibly have been...from Robbin explaining what would happen initially, to Ed's quick quote, to Alfredo's supervision. 9 professional men loaded two trucks. 5 went with us two+ hours to our new home. They unloaded efficiently and put up with our little extra requests with a smile. AND they did this all in one day ... a very long day but they never stopped smiling. Great job guys. Excellent service, guaranteed the price quoted. We purchased used cubicle workstations and had them parted out and in storage for months while we worked on the approval red tape (city government!) - once we got the "go ahead", Water's got the job done in a day. Paul worked with me to figure out the configuration and located all the parts needed - and then moved extra pieces to another storage facility - all within the time and price quoted. No surprises! Waters cleared furniture and accessories from three bedrooms for carpet installation. The date we had arranged happened to be one with a big rainstorm. A few items had to be set on our deck, but they ensured everything stayed dry. Faustino and Arturo made sure everything was returned to the proper locations after the carpeting was installed. Waters just moved our 4 bedroom home from Alamo to Danville. After 24 years in one town we were apprehensive about the move of our possessions. The 5 man Waters crew was fantastic. However, both of my 70" TVs were broken (screens all messed up) when I tried to turn them on. (I remembered both had been moved in the van while standing on their short end. I looked this up after finding them broken, and I found that standing TVs on the short end is not the way to store them, as it puts pressure on the screen in a way it was not designed to bear. Especially in a bouncing moving van!) And my bookstand with wheels had one broken wheel (probably they forgot to unlock the wheels before trying to move it). Ugh. Later, the main mover guy texted to ask me to give them a good review at a different link than the one I had used to write this Yelp review. I let him know about the TVs (I had not discovered the book case yet). And he made a big deal over how this had never happened to them before and his guys were so upset and how they didn't do anything wrong. And then he said I could file a claim with the company but asked me to say they had not done anything wrong, everything had been packed right. Well, clearly not the case! And not my problem to protect his ego. Double ugh. I made a 1.5 hour round trip drive to drop off the TVs at a free electronic recycle. I'll go to Costco to try and replace these TVs. They were probably only each worth 100 when broken, but I'll have to pay a lot more than that to replace them. A serious drag.
