The seafood boil for 2 was much larger than expected. We actually had food leftover. Amazing flavor and service. We I'll be back!

81 Diner - Cheesesteak and fresh cut fries

Now, years later, my wife and I would pass by the new 81 diner and would always say we needed to try it. We'll, today was the day. We stopped in for lunch, and aside from a gentleman waiting for his to-go order, we were known as the customers. I guess not a lot of people eat at 3 in the afternoon. The atmosphere was very nice. The tables, chairs and booths all fit the diner nicely. My cheesesteak sub was very tasty. Their menu said no substitutions, but they let me withhold the lettuce, tomatoes and onions, which I'm not fond of, so I'm glad they let me do that. Along that note, my wife ordered the BLT sandwich, and gave me some of the bacon, which was really good! Our friend George ordered the pizza burger, which also looked good, and he seemed to enjoy it. Their fresh cut fries were fantastic as well. If I had anything to complain about, it would be that the music being piped in was too modern for a classic diner atmosphere and wasn't something we were expecting. Hopefully that's something they will eventually change. Maybe next time we will stay long enough to try some of their desserts, which looked pretty good too. We will definitely be back soon.

I felt justified to leave 4-Stars but I'm leaving 5-Stars and the reason is that some slight changes could eventually be made. New Owners are working hard to establish and build up business. First, the inside is very nicely decorated and extremely clean Parking is perfect with plenty of spaces The dining staff were working fast and efficient, younger folks with very friendly and positive attitudes. Overall the Staff was Outstanding ! We only seen the Breakfast Menu, it was well planned and very easy to look over and make your selections. I was a little taken back at the cost of the Steak & Eggs, the Country Fried Steak and Ham Steak, both with Eggs as well, compared to other diners, it seems a little costly. The food arrived freshly cooked and hot, which is nice and we ordered the sliced fried potatoes, these need to be improved, no flavor, adding just a pinch of seasoning would take this many steps up. I had the Pancakes, Eggs and Sausage which were standard breakfast food. Deb had the French Toast, Eggs and Bacon, same standard breakfast food. This indeed is a nice little diner, I would bet they will continue improving as each day goes by. We will give them a try for lunch one day

Our server came over to take our drink orders and offer us sparkling, spray or tapwater. He also offered us the chefs amuse bouche. It was a hummus filled of pastry? The menu is easy to decipher, and there were two specials for the evening. We went with the escargot as an appetizer as well as the bread basket. The bread basket had a few different options and a herb butter. There was some appointment with the escargot as they were a little chewy and lack some flavor but we all enjoyed the Mushrooms that they sat on top of and the toasted bread. We also got the potato crisp as an appetizer. They were excellent with a Stilton cheese, fresh herbs, and scallions! They were crispy and so flavorful. One of the specials was a pasta Bolognese made with Papparadelle. I enjoyed seeing the small bits of carrot, a lot of meat and the wine flavor came through as well. My dad got the monkfish and he said it was almost like eating a piece of steak! We couldn't forget about dessert. We had the crème brûlée and two of the Chocolate dessert. Overall, it was a great night, but but it was quite pricey. That was our fault as we asked for extra water, we had 2 alcoholic drinks, three appetizers and three desserts. I will definitely be back for another special occasion as there is more to explore on the menu! It's a hidden gem in East Berlin, and I'm glad it's still around!

Service was quick and friendly. My wife ordered Crab Rangoon as a starter and I had an eggroll. The Crab Rangoon was delicious. All made in house. The eggroll was good and the asked for extra horseradish mustard was outstanding. For our main meals, my wife had the General Tso. It was good, but not much spice. Waitress later informed we can always ask for it to be spicier as they get too many that say it is too spicey if they spice it to their liking. I ordered the Bourbon Chicken. It was delicious. Informed that they marinade the chicken in the sauce overnight for the next day. Again, delicious. Portions were very generous. Prices were very reasonable. Don't worry about getting a smaller portion on the Combo Meal menu. It is still a large portion. Both my wife and I had to ask for boxes to bring home our leftovers. All in all, a very nice dinner experience and we will definitely return again.

Really disappointing. After adding a nice dose of our our own soy and/or hoisin sauce, it was palatable enough to fill our bellies, but no one was happy about it. Do you know how disappointing it is to not be excited for your Chinese food leftovers the next day? Unfortunately, most of them made it to the trash. Insert sad face emoji. For reference, the dishes we orders were: -Beef Lo Mein -General Tso's chicken -Shrimp Lo Mein -various rices, various egg rolls The staff were also not very friendly. I ordered this as takeout and when I entered the restaurant there were two tables of people dining in. It was a small joint, but not packed, by any means. I waited almost five minutes before being acknowledged by anyone, and then it kind of just felt like I was an inconvenience. I really wanted to like this place, but I don't think we have a reason to try again.

There were people selling stuff out of their vehicles scattered around the parking lot. No designated area just hap-hazard and very sketchy looking. We parked and walked inside and right away we noticed that it was dirty EVERYWHERE. There were multiple empty spots where there might have been a vendor at one time. The lighting was terrible, and the place smelled as well. Everything looked outdated and most of the food vendors looked like they hadn't seen a health inspection in months. After a quick walk around the first building we headed back to our vehicle and couldn't get out of the parking lot fast enough! We won't be going back.........EVER!

Parking is not an issue with plenty of spaces. In the back of the complex is the outdoor Flea Market area, which vendors vary on a daily basis. You'll find a little bit of everything, because it's essentially a giant yard sale. In the front of the complex are the sheds, which are literal sheds vendors can lease and sell from. The main complex is three connected buildings with various vendors. Morning Sun Marketplace, unlike some flea markets, has a wide array of dining options. Vendors included video game booths, toy booths, trading card booths, and many others. The selection was rather impressive. All of the buildings were clean and well kept. Our biggest surprise was the booth style collectible and antique center in the middle building. It was full of high-quality items including many retro toys and collectables. If Morning Sun Marketplace is your local flea market, it's a great place to stop in at regularly. We were here in the off season, so we can't speculate on how many produce vendors show up during the months with better weather. Overall, it was worth the visit and I would return.
