Family owned place. I always like that. Room was clean and efficient. Room has tv,cable ,wifi ,fridge, microwave ,coffee maker ,hair dryer. Plenty of clean towels. Bring your own bath soap and shampoo, glad I did. Room we stayed in had two queen beds table two chairs and nice size dresser. Inn is across the Bridge from the old town where you can go sight seeing and do all the tourist fun stuff. But also plenty of restaurants and things to do on this side of bridge including lighthouse. read more

The Anastasia Inn is, in my opinion, a budget hotel/motel. Perfect for the road tripper. It is clean and has the essentials. If you're going to St. Augustine for one to two nights and you are the kind of person that needs a place to sleep, shower, and change for the next thing, it's a good option. We spend little time in the room, aren't looking to break the bank, and prefer a location that is close to the sights and has nearby restaurant options. You walk in the room and to the left is a long counter with a sink and area for plenty of toiletries, a coffee maker on top and a half mini fridge below. There is a wall-mounted hair dryer. To the right is the bathroom with full tub/shower and toilet. So one person can shower while the other is at the sink area. This particular room had two queen beds, a dresser, desk with rolling chair, a separate round table and a second chair. There is a closet with hangers, luggage rack and laundry bag. The television is a flat 32" screen. There isn't an outlet between the queen beds. I should have brought an extension cord. There isn't a USB outlet either. So bring your extension cord, charger and plug. The room could stand to be updated with new carpet. There is a pool, but it's on the small side and the type you'd take a dip and paddle your legs holding onto the side. The room smells a little musty when we enter, but after ten min of air conditioning, that disappears. The hotel is a walk across A1A to O'Steens Restaurant, famed for their fried shrimp and worth it. Be careful crossing! Osprey Tacos is next door to the hotel. A British style pub is also across the street. The Black Fly restaurant is a block or two away. Minus the heat and humidity, one could walk across the Bridge of Lions to the old town tourist area. There are burrows options for bars and restaurants. The hotel offered a continental breakfast with bagels and pastries. We didn't try it bc we had a list of places to try and we were out early each day. The beach is about a ten minute drive. The Alligator Farm, St. Augustine Lighthouse and miniature golf are also less than ten min drive away. The locations is great if you're coming to town for a concert at the St. Augustine Amphitheater or going to the old town area for the Christmas lights and celebration. We are planning another trip in a few months and will likely stay here again. It suited our needs perfectly. read more

Id say this is one of my favorite places to stay. $80 a night is a deal considering how much every other place is charging. This is my fourth visit, and as always room is clean and oder free, sheets were clean. The inn seems to be family owned and the staff are extremely pleasant when you see them. Is this a Hilton? No.... It is a great little motel with great service, clean rooms at a fair price, and a 15 minute walk to downtown. P.S. if there was one truly bad thing it was how bad the WIFI was. read more

Stayed here in mid November. Price was $80 a night. Nash, the front desk guy let us check in early. Very nice. Room has two queen beds small refrigerator microwave. Room was clean. Bedding was older you get a sheet and the dated comforter but it was clean. Internet and TV worked great. Breakfast in the morning was cereal muffins and bagels coffee was good. One car parking for per room. But plenty of parking on the street for free. 20 min walk to downtown area over bridge. This is a budget hotel so you get what you pay for but I have stayed here twice with no issues. Several good restaurants on this side of town with no hustle and bustle. Clean rooms and area. Everyone in St Augustine was friendly I like it here. read more

I THOUGHT THEY WILL HELP US! We've been in Anastasia for couple of times. One of the things that we like them is the well lighted parking lot. We stayed 2 nights on Dec 22 and 23. On the morning of 24th, we noticed that our car has a dent, scraped on the side of the body. It was obviously, a wreckless driver damaged our SUV over the night when backing or parking. We reported it to the office but the guy said the police won't entertain us because we don't know the plate number. We asked if we can check the CCTV, it seemed they don't care! First, they okayed a late check in when I made the reservation then they're calling me while I am driving, an hour before I told them I'd be there, to tell me that I have to hurry because they are closing at 9pm. A) It was not anywhere near 9pm. B) they had, as I said, okayed my late check-in. I was coming from Doctor's in Tampa area so I had no idea how long it would take. I said between 8 and 9pm was when we would arrive. Second, they were HORRIBLY rude when we called down to ask for a late check out... Not to mention the fact that they were NO WHERE around when I went to get fresh towels. Then they come knocking on my door to ask me what I'd wanted. Uh, hello... if you weren't there how did you know it was me!? Big Brother much? I had visions of the movie "Vacancy" going through my mind. When we were leaving, the woman, who we think was his wife, hurried into the room to check it like we would actually steal from them! Oh! And I have to say that they have NO IDEA where they are... I read the reviews before booking so I knew what to expect. Yes the room is very outdated, but what I was not expecting was that the blanket was very stiff feeling, the comforter was super thin. 3 of the pillow cases had something that looked like make up stains on them. I did get fresh pillow cases, but went to the Walmart and bought a blanket. The bed itself was sooo uncomfortable and hard, I did not get a good night sleep. We were looking for an affordable place to stay overnight on our way from Ft Myers to Savannah. It was ok. Due to it being St Patrick's weekend choices were limited. Pros: location, price, friendly and accommodating staff. Free parking and no resort fee. Fridge and microwave in room. Cons: bedding and mattress old and uncomfortable; lumpy and plastic cover on mattress/scratchy sheets made for very uncomfortable nights sleep. Also a stale odor. Beds and room in general definitely need updating. Would not stay again. Husband and I both wish we had just spent a little more for more comfortable and updated hotel. read more

Horrible, the mildew smell is disgusting, i should have known when i went into the office to check in, and the exact same horrible mildew / mold smell, I've just been here a few hours, and have a sore throat and headache. Everything is old and outdated, and in Poor condition . The swimming pool is a "Joke"... smallest pool I've seen and to make it even worse, it is set out on the corner of the property, right next to a busy road. Unfortunately.. Best thing about this hotel is its location. About 2 blocks from the Bridge of Lions, where you can easily walk to downtown St. Augustine. It's less than a mile from St. George Street, and a nice pretty scenic walk over the bridge (and you don't have to fight traffic). Also, there are several restaurants located around the hotel, including Blackfly, GAS, O'Steens, British Pub, Raw Martini, etc. Plenty of things to do. The hotel (motel?) itself is clean, but nothing fancy. I would definitely go back, but I would bring my own pillows and my own towels. The pillows were flat and the towels not absorbent at all. We visited in February, so no swimming for us, although the tiny pool is heated. You must check in before 9pm, but we were running late and the office guy stayed until 10, which we appreciated. He was friendly and helpful, giving us a map of the area and letting us know that the sightseeing train shuttle would pick us up out front if we wanted to do that. The small continental breakfast is just muffins, bagels, coffee, juice, cereal. It does the job when you are hungover! Each room has a microwave and fridge, and there's a handy cabinet to store your food/liquor so that you don't lose your bathroom counter space. Each room also has a tub/shower, but the water pressure was pretty low. Someone else must have been taking a shower at the same time as me and finished, because mid-shower I was finally able to rinse my hair at an acceptable rate. The tub has a nonslip mat inside, but it looks pretty shady underneath that. Therefore, you couldn't pay me to actually take a bath in that tub, but as long as I can shower I'm good to go. Completely served our needs of being inexpensive ($75 a night), clean, and most importantly close enough to walk to the bars and stumble home. Would stay again! read more

Hotel was not very clean. I had blood stains on my sheet and pillow. There was mold in the bathroom and cigarette burns in the carpet. Wifi was EXTREMELY slow. Cable tv was basic. "Continental breakfast" consisted of 3 types of cereal, bagels, 3 types of miniature muffins and Walmart orange juice. They did not even have fruit. The only good things (in my opinion) was that the price is really good, the location is good and they offer smoking rooms. read more

My husband and I needed a hotel last minute when our motorhome just 15 minutes away failed to provide air conditioner last minute. For anyone on a budget, this is very good. I had stayed at another hotel and realized there were invisible fleas or unknown creatures biting my body from their furniture, not acceptable no matter the price. The front desk was very helpful and took his time to make sure I found what I wanted which was a room on the first floor. The room was pleasant and in good condition. Got a large shower and it was clean. Always a good thing. TV and Internet worked also. The bed was very good as well. The stay was going to be a good stay but alas, I'm not quite sure I'd return because at 5 AM, a random junkie abruptly banged on our door and moved around doing this...even after I told the front desk. A get what you pay for hotel. Clean and the price is right. Very small pool out front with 2 tables and four chairs. Only one table has an umbrella. There two floors and all the rooms face the road which is just across the parking lot. Free Wi-Fi and contential breakfast starting at 7:30am at the office. Ice maker is on the first floor by the office. TV is Sanyo old tube model about 24". Room had small table, arm chair, dresser, small refrig, tiny microwave, and small closet. I want a cheap budget place and that was close to the Bridge, Lighthouse, etc. and this fits the bill. If you plan to hang out there, it's not the place for you, but if you a clean, cheap place, this is it. read more

The room was outdated but served its purpose. I think this place would benefit from some new carpet and bedding for sure. Overall it was clean and the location was great for our girls trip! I did however leave a sweatshirt behind in my room and when I called about it they said they never found one and promptly hung up on me. We stayed here on the first floor, for a one night weekend get-a-way. The room had a king sized bed, a micro-fridge, and a microwave. The room was clean, had no odd or offensive odors, and the bed was very comfortable. The location, if you are a walker, is *perfect* for downtown excursions. You are about 1 mile from the marina (where I wholeheartedly recommend the Schooner Freedom sails; particularly sunset sails). What better way to see St. Augustine, than leaving your car at your hotel, and enjoying everything downtown has to offer, without adding parking to your expenses (or breaking the bank to actually stay downtown?) If you book a month ahead of your stay, there is also a discount for the room fee. The man who checked us in was very friendly, and pleasant to talk to. As another reviewer said, the pool is small. About 10' by 10' and a little over 5' deep. We don't use hotel pools, so it's size doesn't matter to us whatsoever. Competitively priced, clean and convenient. Would definitely stay here again, and would definitely recommend to family and friends. read more

Stayed three nights, left a shirt and a pair of jeans with cash in a pocket in the closet. Pants and shirt were recovered next day in the "lost and found" but cash wasn't. When confronted, the manager said that the maid had been there for 5 years without an issue. Only God (and another person) knows what really happened to my cash. It's a very clean hotel. And it's quite local to where my parents live on Anastasia Island which is why I am staying here. Because my parents are in need of help. If they weren't so close to my parents home I would not be staying here. Because I, when I come back to relax in my room, I like to watch a certain kind of conservative television but they don't offer a conservative television viewing option so I try to get it on my computer! Which is the other big problem! Because their Wi-Fi is so screwed up it doesn't work and I can't watch anything that I want to see! I think when I come back to help my parents out I'll stay at the Edgewater inn or the Marriott courtyard! Bottom line is if you are in need of consistent Wi-Fi access to whatever it is that you're trying to connect to don't stay here! It is very iffy and even my hotspot doesn't work here! read more

I second Jenny's comments. By far, the best thing about the place is the location. There is no view from the hotel, but walk a couple of blocks and you are on the river. Cross the bridge, and you are in downtown. Walk the other way a mile and you are at the lighthouse. A little further still, and you get to the Alligator Farm, then Anastasia Park, and then the Amphitheater. There are several restaurants nearby, but I recommend going to downtown instead. The room itself is about what you would expect from an economy motel. Clean enough, but certainly not spotless. The towels were pretty scratch, and the bed marginally comfortable. The shower pressure was also just enough. The wi-fi password was the hotel phone number, but no one told us that, so we had to call the "emergency" number to get it. They didn't even have it on the wall in the rooms. The owners let us checkout a little late (45 minutes) and we were able to keep our car in the lot after checkout so we could go eat some food downtown, so that was nice. I was able to book the room for under $60 on Booking.com. So for that price, it was sort of a no-brainer. read more

Like others have said "You get what you pay for" . This is NOT a high end place. It is relatively clean. The office and maid staff are very helpful. Faucet in the shower can use some work. Swimming Pool was clean if not very big. More jacuzzi size. It is a older hotel. Short walk to Mellow Pizza (YUM) and to a very clean laundromat. If you want to use WIFI you have to be close to your room or the office... does not work by the pool area. read more

It got the job done. The room smelled slightly musty, as if they put the comforters back on the beds before they were quite done drying, and a couple of the towels had some stains (and in one case, a very long hair) on them, but the room itself was clean and everything was quiet. The owner was nice, and we grabbed some muffins in the morning on our way out. The location was great; right next to some great pubs and restaurants, and right across the bridge from downtown. My husband and I checked on a Monday evening and left the following Saturday morning. The internet stated one price and offered a discount on multiple nights. We arrived at the motel and ended up paying about $18 extra (total was $320--still a great price!). The website did not state we needed to book online to get the discount but, apparently, that's how it worked. The manager seemed preoccupied when we arrived but he was still friendly. Over the following days he seemed to be friendlier so I know the hubby and I just caught him at a bad time. The housekeeper was very friendly, too, and very attentive. Our room, 208, was very clean. No dust or dirt anywhere. No towels with stains. The TV, AC and mini fridge worked great. The motel internet worked great every day except for Monday night after 10pm. The connection kept coming and going. The shower head needs to be replaced but it worked just fine. The blanket was a little itchy, but the sheets and mattress was comfy. They offer free soap and shampoo. The free breakfast was cereal, bagels, muffins, milk, orange juice, and coffee. Though some people complain about a cold breakfast (spoiled people!), my hubby and I enjoyed it very much. It lasted from 7:30 to 9:30am. We didn't have to go out for food, so money well saved. The pool is about half the size of a regular-sized pool, so it was pretty small. It was clean and quite though. All in all, we would stay here again if we ever returned to St. Augustine. read more

This is my landing spot when I'm visiting family in St. Aug. I'm not wealthy, so I can't stay in the 5 star places in town. But the Anastasia Inn is just across the bridge from Old Town. I've walked it. Cabbed it (cheap). I've stayed 5 times so far and will definitely be back. It's a family run joint with clean rooms. It's not brand new by any means, but the owners are real nice people, and I've been able to negotiate better prices every time. For the price you can't beat it. Coffee maker, fridge, microwave, HBO, cold AC, safe, convenient... And there's an awesome English Pub right across the street that serves imperial pints and seems to do karaoke a lot :-) read more
