Our house needs quite a lot of restoration due to deferred maintenance and improper repairs. AN recently did a great job replacing our undersized rain gutters and downspouts with a seamless system right sized for the house. We needed copper in the front and planned on copper colored aluminum in the back to save money. When AN couldn't find copper colored aluminum stock anywhere in the country, they offered to provide us with real copper for the back and absorb the cost. Who does that today? (We declined. Brown aluminum is fine). We also needed all of the detailed Georgian trim on the front of our house replaced, plus the facia and soffit due to rot caused by gutter overspill and downspout backup. The carpentry had to be exact. An did a great job and did it all in AZEK. Our 4 dormers had to be rebuilt. The last roofer hadn't left enough space for run off and the dormers were rotted. Again AN copied the details exactly in AZEK. The job site was clean, they were very nice to work with and the pricing was competitive. It took awhile to get on their schedule because of the never ending rain but they were worth the wait. They had also installed an attic fan for us previously and treated that small job very professionally. We find that usually says something about a company and it turns out it did. read more

I have used AN Exterior for different jobs. For the first job a tree fells and damaged the front of the house. They completed the job in one day and also repaired a hole in our roof as a branch fell the day before they came out. I then used AN Exterior for our second property, which they replaced the roof, facia board and gutters. The price was fair, the work was completed successfully and on-time. Oh my gosh. Did you ever get the feeling that you're getting ripped off? I called these guys to do an estimate. they did it. it was the best price I could find. But when the gutter installers came, it was another company! So basically An Exterior was the middle man. I'm not sure how much they paid the other company to come to install gutters, but all An did (I'm pretty sure) was call another company and they probably made at least a few hundred bucks off of me. I contacted "An Exterior" (4-12-23) to come to my townhouse to repair the rakeboards at the roof area. One of their workers came out a couple of days later to look at the rakeboards and stated that the company will email me a proposal for the repairs. Days went by and I did not receive any proposal or call from this company. I called them the other day to find out any update on the proposal and the lady that picked up the phone at "An Exterior" had no information or clue about the worker that came out. She told me that they don't keep records of this. I asked her, how can a company not keep records of the places they service. She was totally clueless...how can a company not have records of the clients they made contact with. I told her that I want to speak to a manager or supervisor. This so-called manager claimed that she will be sure that I would receive an emailed proposal. As of today----NO PROPOSAL. This so-called company is VERY unprofessional and needs to be taught on how to manage a business. Quick work, looked clean... but don't trust the looks or the warranty. 6 months after our roof was redone by An Exterior, we put our house on the market. The recent home inspection during sale of our house found mold on the plywood. Hard to believe, that after An Exterior replaced 32 sheets of the plywood (basically my entire roof and per their requirement) that 6 months later there is mold. We contacted An Exterior asking them to rectify the issue, and instead were told by them it's an insurance issue, not their issue. They don't solve the mold issue. From their email: "Your issue is this.. Mold... It was an ins. claim.... The insurance co. is supposed to allow for X damages from mold if any existing at the time of inspection. NOT An Exterior Inc. An Exterior did a lot of work on our house during a major remodeling. The work looked fine, but some of the siding they installed blew loose in the first strong wind and they were terrible about fixing it. Not only did they refuse to treat it as warranty work, they were repeatedly slow to respond, and they insisted on an unreasonable price to do the repairs. Other companies wanted about half as much. They were no-shows without any phone call to let me know. I called the main office an hour after the guys were expected to arrive and the receptionist was extremely rude and unapologetic. This is a follow up to my earlier complaint regarding An Exterior. I have had 3 contractors providing estimates on repairing the inferior work done by An Exterior. I each case it was noted that the failure to install "'drip edge molding" caused the rainwater to accumulate behind the vinyl cladding on the facia rotting the wood and resulting in additional repair. Due to the inferior shingles installed by An Exterior, the repairs is further complicated by the fact that the "30 year" shingles are brittle and impossible to easily remove after only 13 years i.e. half the life guaranteed by An Exterior. We used An Exteriors to replace over 30 windows and to do repair work on our front porch. The salesman Danny was very helpful in deciding the proper window style and type (Marvin Infinity, low-e 366) and in amending our order to add some basement windows. We found the company's prices to be quite reasonable and the quality of the work to be excellent. I was pleasantly surprised that when the new sliding door glass door for the porch did not work exactly right, the crew manager was insistent on replacing it. Other companies would have jerry-rigged some solution. The crews were a little slow to start the job, but once they started, they finished the work in a timely manner despite some very cold temperatures. Their crews were very professional, polite, and tidy. We found no leftover debris. I was so impressed that I intend to ask An Exteriors to do a roof replacement. read more

The rating is strictly associated with what I needed done for my home. I used this company last year to install an attic fan I purchased from Costco which they charged me $150 and did a great job. This year when I wanted another attic fan in stalled, I was now quoted $300 for 1 hour labor. The reason I was given for the 100% price increase is because more people want attic fans from Costco installed. An Exterior was the only one who actually returned our calls but then they DIDNT SHOW up for the appt. They rescheduled but I dont have a good feeling they will show up. Funny thing...we were going to get a new roof....$4000 plus job in a neighborhood where all the houses have a 15 year roof and need new ones this year! DONT USE THESE FOLKS! We hired AN Exterior for our window replacement project, consisting of 25 + windows, a French door with a half circle above, a patio door and laundry room door. We worked with Danny; he was very professional, knowledgeable and helpful with our project. The pricing was very competitive for our Marvin windows and doors. While Marvin is a little more expensive than other brands (Pella, Anderson, etc.), the window quality is by far superior to any other manufacturer and worth the investment. We absolutely LOVE the windows and doors! Our project was large with a few complications, but Danny went above-and-beyond to made sure everything was perfect at the end of the installation. We didn't even get any estimate. They customer service was pretty bad. The lady who picked up the phone didn't know anything about what jobs they can take care of. The estimator, however, very honestly told us they did not handle that kind of work (underground drainage clog). The company should replace the customer service staff. read more

I received 3 estimates and chose An Exterior to replace my roof. The only variable was the number of plywood and I only needed one, which I think shows the honesty of this company.
