A friend recommended this place to me. Although she hadn't been here before, I still chose to give it a try. I dropped off two pairs of jeans on a Friday and the lady told me it would be ready by Tuesday. That is a quick turnaround to me because most places say at least a week. Tuesday rolls around and I asked my sister to pick up the jeans. When she gets there the lady told her the jeans weren't ready, that she should come back later, this was at 10ish. I arrive later around 3ish, and she tells me the jeans still aren't ready that I should wait about 30 mins. I was a little annoyed but I decided to wait. My jeans are finally ready and I decide to try them on before I leave just in case it needs a little bit more alterations. One out of the two pair of jeans I felt I wanted to send them in at the waist a little bit more. I bring that to her attention and she immediately starts to raise her voice and tell me no that this is the way that I wanted it. I was kind of shocked because I'm at an alterations place isn't the point of coming here is to get alterations. I explained this to her and her response was you're gonna have to pay extra. Why am I paying extra when I already paid for this service and it wasn't right. Why can't you just make the alterations? I wouldn't have mind paying more, but it's the way that she said it was kind of rude. I had already waited 30 minutes, I had to come back again because my clothes weren't ready. She didn't have no concessions for me. I already thought to myself that I probably wouldn't be back just for the fact that I had to come back twice, but I for sure will not be back. This is just my experience from the customers that have came in, they seem to love her. read more

Beautiful, professional work! My wedding dress was too large and needed to be taking up quite a bit as well as shortened. They removed the lace and reapplied it to my length. 2 months and it was perfect! Side note: before taking it to Amy's, I had gone to another place and they said I wasted my money. I went for alterations on a jumpsuit. She was suppose to add a bow, a hem, and a train. I was convinced that she could change the pants to ankles pants and some creasing with the waste and add a train. I had such a bad feeling so I stop by to see the process nothing was done. She had me try the garment on again to check the measurements. I agreed with the promise it would be ready 2 days later. On the day of pickup, I received a called that they were running behind on completion to allow a couple of hours. When I arrived for pickup the pants were cut to knee length short. A train was added with no creasing just a sewn on piece of fabric. I mention to her that this was not what we we discussed but she said it looked good. The garment was awful. I was so angry because it was for my birthday party later. I have to go and buy an entire new outfit. I will never again use Amy, ever. She never even offered a discount for bad service. read more

I think I'm in like! I'll tell you why, and if you use tailors on a regular basis you'll understand why this seemingly small thing was a really big deal to me. First, Amy takes plastic. Imagine that! I'd tried another tailor in Arlington and was amazed when they told me they only took cash. Don't make it hard for me to give you my money! Second, Amy speaks fluent English. IMAGINE THAT! I called her on the phone (I said that like I could have used two cans and some string or something, lol) to ask a couple of questions before coming in and to my delight she was able to communicate with me and answer my questions. Go 'hed Amy! Look at you, communicating all clearly and what-not! I've called others and tried to ask questions and they were like.....yeah, you come in. So Amy had won me over before she did anything. But then she hooked me for good when I met her. I had 4 blazers that all needed the sleeves shortened (don't judge me, lol) but I needed one of them the next day. Amy had it ready and ready on time, no problem. Been coming to Amy for over a year....she is literally the best! I see her about 3 times/ month with all my husband's and my new clothes. Let me also mention that we spend a lot on clothing and it was scary to find someone skilled enough to alter them. Amy makes all of our jeans look like we bought them that way-uses the original hem. She has altered silk and coats without a hitch. Everything looks as if we purchased them that way. Prices: it is about $15 for jeans and sleeves, $10 for easy slacks with just shortening the length, $25 to add pleats. Tip: If she give you a day to come back to pick up the clothing, they won't be ready till that evening. read more
