I don't understand all the bad reviews I see. I've had great experiences every time I've gone for a manicure and/or pedicure. The space is very clean and professional. Everyone who's worked on my nails has had great attention to detail and done a really good job. If you want any special designs, Alvin is a true artist. read more

Website and storefront both say walk-one welcome, but this was a terrible decision on my part. This was on my list of places with kids pedicure chairs to scope out. A super nice, but totally unskilled and sick girl (constant sniffing, bouts of coughing, and sneezing) was assigned to do my gel pedicure. I tried to make eye contact with the manager and, after he left, other techs to subtly ask for someone else and I was blatantly ignored. They should not be allowing this poor girl to work on customers unless they provide her more training. This kind girl made me bleed, took 55 minutes, didn't scrub feet hard enough despite me asking twice, the bath bag leaked, her glove broke, I struggled with the chair, had to ask for the toe separators, and asked her to refile numerous toes, to no effect. No lotion, no massage, no callus treatment; in fact I wasn't even asked what level of pedicure I wanted. The service I received was a gel toe polish change with a rough file and injured toe and then they had the absolute nerve to try and charge me $58+. The manager, over the phone, insisted I pay for a basic pedicure ($38), and frankly, the only reason I did was to stop making everyone feel so uncomfortable. Another employee offered to re-do everything, albeit two days later, but didn't bother taking my phone number to schedule it. I will never come here again. Again, all blame goes to management. There were flying bugs, dirty water in plant vases, and slimy nail cards. I tried to warn a walk-in after me; I Hope she ended up with a better service than I did. read more

I thought this place was nice, started my appointment on time, but I had to wait for my nail design since my nail tech didn't do designs. When I scheduled my appointment I did say I want design so I wish they considered that when pairing me with the nail tech I got. They also have deals if you pay with cash which is nice. I got dip and the design were gel - the total without tip was $58 (this was with cash and the special offer they had) read more

if I could rate them zero stars I would. my mother went in to get a full set gel manicure. She she first picked one color out and when the manager (yes the MANAGER acted like this) swapped it on her nail, my mother did not like that color so she respectfully asked if she could switch the color. Mind you this is a service that you're paying for. nothing is free. The MANAGER got very frustrated and looked at my mother and said "you GET up and get it yourself". I was not there with my mother, but if I were, she would not have got her nails done there. The fact that my mother was very nice not once rude and the manager still had an attitude and still told her to get the nail color herself is horrific. DO NOT COME HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE TREATED LIKE AN ANNOYING PEST. Please go here if you want your gel polish painted on so thick that it never dries properly and all of your nails start to bubble.... then you have to return and have it filed off compromising the thickness of all your acrylics until they break off one by one. Go here if you have time to deal with all of that. There is only one guy here that properly does nails and it is not Alvin. So if you have time to be charged $5 for matte topcoat on top of gel set wrong.... this is the place for you. read more

They do nice nails but COMPLETELY LIE about pricing. I'm so sick of nail salons being like this. I stopped going there a couple years ago because of this. Today my usual guy at another salon was sick so I decided to give Amy Nails another shot. I called this morning and asked how much an acrylic fill was. He said "if you pay card, it's $50. If you pay cash, it's $45." Ok, totally normal pricing for a fill. That's what the going rate is nowadays. I said ok and came right down. The appointment took an hour which is exactly what a normal fill appointment should take with just a basic solid color, no designs at all. She did a nice job on my nails. But when I went up to pay, she goes "that will be $70." I asked why. She said "because you have long nails." I certainly don't have abnormally long nails. They're longer than someone with short nails but they are not "$25 extra for a fill" long! So with tip I just paid $85 for a freaking fill with no design? Am I living in the twilight zone? I don't even pay that for a full set lol. Who on earth is charging these prices?? That's absolute insanity. And here's the thing, I DID call to ask, and I was told the price. He ABSOLUTELY NEVER said "a fill STARTS at $45 but depends on your length." I can absolutely see charging extra for length for a new set because obviously you need a lot more product to create a full set rather than a fill. But for a fill???? You're placing the product in the same place regardless of the length. I don't like being lied to and I don't like being taken advantage of. He very easily could have been up front and told me that a fill starts at $45 and goes up from there depending on length. But he purposely didn't so that he could get me in there. And then they surprise you after they just did your nails. That's not right. At all. I was going to switch from my other salon to Amy Nails since it's closer to my house, but not anymore. You lost me as a customer again. read more

Worst experience I've ever had. Unbelievably RUDE customer service. I called at 10 am and made an appointment for approximately 2 hours later with Tvan. I came in time and saw that he just started to do somebody's nails. He put my hands in pure acetone in an open bowl. After breathing acetone for 25 minutes, when my nails and skin were practically peeling off, I asked how much longer it's going to be before he can take me and what was the point of making an appointment if he can't keep it and the customer has to wait for 30 minutes. He started yelling that he is not going to do my nails and that I should leave. Without a question never coming back again!!! read more

I've been going here on and off since I was in high school about 5 years ago. I continue to go here consistently now and they always do such a nice job. I see often that there are bad reviews but they always take your for a walk in and I usually do not wait more than 5-10 minutes. Everyone that works here knows what they're doing and they have a wide selection of colors. I'm a very plain nail person but I have requested designs too that they have excelled on. It is super clean and very fairly priced for nails in this economy. I really do recommend it! read more

I've gone two times now, once last year. During this time the mask recommendations were in order, but the man doing my nails was not wearing a mask, while coughing and sneezing all over the place. He also would wipe his nose with his hands and continue working on my nails without washing or sanitizing his hands. This time I went last week and the woman doing my pedicure did my pedicure well except she clipped my big toe down the side to a point of bleeding and giving me an ingrown toenail with inflammation. I brought my daughters in. It was a lovely salon and very clean. They can accommodate a lot of people. There were 3 people working on a Sunday afternoon. My youngest wanted a full set of acrylics and showed a photo of what she wanted. She was told that to shape them would be $5 extra. We have never had to pay to have them cut into a basic shape before but okay. The nails looked good but came out very short. They were not much longer than her original nails. The person doing her nails told her the nails in the photo were very long (the photo was of my daughter's hand). She was disappointed. Overall they looked good but was not what she wanted and cost more than what was listed. My oldest had a French manicure done. They came out fantastic. The woman had the most steady hand and was very particular about the job she did. I would go back and give it another shot. read more

I went there to get holographic coffin nails. When I went in the gentlemen stated they do not have any "modern" polishes or designs. If you want that instagram worthy nail service this is NOT the place to go. They had me sit with a young man and he was telling me it was his first day. He filed my nails very crooked and uneven. I pointed out the issues and gave up having him make it right because he clearly did not know what he was doing (although he was nice just not trained and tried about 3x to make them even and the true coffin shape). He did not trim my cuticles, the coffin shape was so off and crooked and the acrylics were super thick. He did not apply the nail close to the ends of my cuticles..I assume they do that so you go back sooner for a fill. No hand massage. You get what you pay for. Found a location in Manchester that is WAY better..which is where he used to work. LOVE them there! read more

I heard about this nail place through my coworkers and I went because they were able to do cool designs on acrylics that most places cannot do. However, Alvin would take so long to do nails and I would wait for an hour at times to be seated for an appointment, when he would purposely make me try to come at a certain time. I brought one of my friends with me and when we arrived we had to wait an hour for Alvin to finish another client. While he was doing my nails, my friend was waiting for me to finish so I asked Alvin if my friend could have someone else available do her nails and he wouldn't allow it, when clearly other people were available. We finally were able to have Alvin take us and it took us 4 freakin hours for him to do both our nails. We got at the nail place around 5 and ended up leaving around 9 at night. I ended up switching to a new nail place about a month ago and they told me that I had fungus that was growing underneath my nails, and it was due to having my old acrylics on for a whole month. A good nail tech would have said to stop getting fills and would tell you to get a new full set so you wouldn't get nail fungus. I believe that Alvin is money hungry and just wants to take as much customers at a time as he can without taking the time to care of the customers. read more

Clean, not busy, and affordable....in exchange a very sub par experience. I get the dipping powder and I had come in for a fill last week, the man at the counter was not convinced I get dipping powder and kept asking me if i get acrylics. After I convinced him I was sure the service ive been receiving for 2 years I got to sit down with the tecnician. He was a very nice guy but all things he said about the process were not what ive come to experience. So be it. The service was done and he cleaned up his station before evaluating my nails, he realized after he messed up one pretty badly but i let it slide. Come to find out when I left he not only messed up my left thumb (see pictures), the shape he did was awful, they were BLUE not black, and he used the wrong top coat so they all chipped within days. read more

My friend booked an appointment for us for 4 and they didn't take me til 6pm and we were alone w/ the nail tech til 7:30 everyone left at 7 when they closed. Alvin also messed up and put one nail design on my middle finger for the left hand & the other nail design on my ring finger for the right (instead of nail design on both ring fingers) he also made me bleed. Didn't say sorry or offer a discount or anything. The nails looked good & he did the design I wanted but service is bad read more

HORRIBLE customer service. I had called Amy's nails on 5/25/21 to schedule pedicures for the morning of 5/28/21. I was told to come in at 9am which I agreed to and had booked a specific person for one of the pedicures. The following day I called back to have the appt be pushed to 9:30am and I was told that would be okay. I arrived to the location at 9:15 and was told around 9:20 that it would just be 10 more minutes before I'd be seated and I was okay with that until 10 mins turned into me sitting around waiting for over 30 minutes. My scheduled pedicure didn't start until 11am! That's an hour and a half after my scheduled appt yet there were walk ins coming in for full sets and refills getting seated immediately. On top of my pedicure being late, the other pedicure that was scheduled for the same time didn't start until 10:30 and wasn't with the person I had scheduled it with. We also got over charged for our pedicures. I got a regular pedicure with a French tip and the other was a regular pedicure with plain/simple polish and we were charged an extra $14 rather than the extra $5 for the French tip. The gentleman at the first desk when you walk in wrote the price down on a sheet of paper to show one of the associated and hid it so we wouldn't see what he charged for each pedicure; mind you he didn't provide services for either one of us. Talk about a scam artist I will NEVER go back. First and last time. read more

So I went in for a pedicure today as a treat. They have a sign that if you pay cash it was $36.00 for a Deluxe pedicure. I didn't have cash on me for the service so I used my debit card and she returns with a slip for $40.00???? I asked $4.00 more? Nowhere in this business does it state you will be charged $4.00 more because believe me I would have hoofed it across the street to get cash. Kind of ridiculous and worse than paying a few cents extra for gas. Won't be back. read more

I was excited to get my nails done here and the set looked nice; despite being rather expensive. The atmosphere was nice and the place was clean and friendly but my issue lies within the quality of the nails. After paying 80$ for a full acrylic set, one of my nails broke after 3 days when I was carrying a suitcase. It was very disappointing and the next day another broke out while i was opening a can. I've never had nails break this fast and i was pretty disheartened. I don't think i'll be coming here again. Paying close to 100$ for nails to break after 3 days of doing simple tasks isn't the best impression to leave :/ read more

I visited in early December with a coupon for 1/2 off Powder Dip. The coupon stated that the regular price was $35. I was pretty pleased with the dip (it was my first time) but noticed when I got home that there was a pretty significant ridge on my pinky nail. I was okay with letting this go and I received a lot of compliments on my manicure. About a week ago I went in again (and again had a coupon for 1/2 off). I had a different nail tech who seemed to do the procedure differently (I swear the first time I got 2 coats and this time was 3 coats). I was happy with the results, but when I went to pay I was told the total was $28...ummm what? Half of $35 should be $18 (rounding up). I won't be back. I don't like surprises. read more

I have been a customer for a long time usually coming in during the week. However, as my wedding was approaching I made an appointment a week in advanced for my wedding party & myself. Went here for a shellac manicure and I was not impressed. The pigment from the color on my nails isn't the same color throughout, meaning it's darker in some areas and lighter in others. Pros: 1. New salon on Amherst Street with plenty of parking 2. Pedicure chairs are super comfy and work! 3. Roomy and super clean 4. Discount given if you pay with cash Cons: 1. There are only 2 people who work there so if you don't have an appointment expect to wait a long time. 2. They have a menu of different pedicures they offer, but I was never asked (my fault that I assumed she would ask me at some point). She proceeded to give me the shortest and worst pedicure I've ever had, it literally took the woman 15 minutes. I was shocked when she started to put the nail polish on as she did not include any type of message or lotion and the only thing she really did was remove the old nail polish and trim my cuticles. When I asked her about it she stated that she puts lotion on after she applies the nail polish. WHAT?! How exactly do you apply lotion with a foot message with wet toe nails? STRANGE. 3. Shelac nail polish is $10 extra, but there is no sign anywhere in the store nor do they tell you that before they apply it. I was told when he told me how much my total was and when I mentioned that he didn't tell me that nor is there a sign anywhere in his store he just responded with "sorry" and charged me for it anyway. 4. Most people are used to gel or acrylic nails, but they like to use a dip powder method and will try to talk you into doing that instead. I can't comment on that style nail application, but I can tell you that if you decide not to go with their suggestion they are rude to you. I tried to have small talk with the gentleman doing my nails and even asked about this "dip powder" method and he responded, "I already tried to tell you about it". Yes, he offered it to me, but did not tell me how it worked. I honestly did not have a good experience here nor was it relaxing in the least. The salon is nice, but there is absolutely no customer service there. read more

Both my sister and I had bad experiences here. She went first a few weeks ago, and somehow a fungus got inside her toe and her entire toenail fell off because of it. Her toenail got totally inflamed and puffed up underneath the toenail so we couldn't do anything until it fell off. I had a gift certificate so I thought I would give it another chance, thinking it was a one time happenstance. Nope. The lady who was doing my pedicure dug extremely deep into my big toe trying to clean it out, and it got infected and puffed up. Both of these were extremely painful, and normally I wouldn't review for one thing, but two instances is enough to make us not go back. read more

I would give 0 stars if I could; my first, and last time, going to Amy Nails. First they were incredibly rude, and unprofessional. I brought my boyfriend with me because we were doing a pamper ourselves weekend, and we both got mani/pedis. The staff left him sitting in the chair for nearly 30 minutes before anyone started to work on him. Once they finally did, the tech began pointing and making fun of his tattoo to his coworkers. Second, their talent is equal to their professionalism...non existent. Neither my finger nails or toenails were properly shaped. I didn't ask for anything complicated, just short and square, which is how I always have them done. All of my nails came out uneven, and most of my toenails have a slight point to them. They cut me several times trimming my cuticles and the skin around my nail beds is now irritated and peeling. The polish on my toenails looks "globbed" on, and doesn't smoothly cover the nail. read more
