Super quality food with an amazing staff. A little expensive, but so worth it. After spending months in India, I have had a hard time finding authentic dishes... this place doesn't disappoint read more

Amrit Palace - Entry and awesome hostess!! Talked us through the entire menu with a smile. Def coming back - Indian Near Me - Ocala, Florida

This place was so good I suggested we move to Ocala (from Charleston, SC - no slacker in the great food department). Food was hot, perfectly spiced, and beautifully presented. We split the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Mango Chicken, the latter at our waiter's suggestion. Not usually a mango fan, I was hesitant, but it was my favorite of the two (and I loved the Tikka Masala, so that's saying something). The bonus dal soup was the best I've ever had, and the garlic naan was plentiful, hot, and delicious. Enough food we'll be enjoying it for dinner tonight! Unexpectedly beautiful interior for a restaurant advertising along I-75. Or for any restaurant, to be honest. Service was impeccable, friendly and prompt. Proof we'd made a good choice was all the cars, assumedly locals, making a beeline for the place right as they opened. Already planning a visit the next time we're headed down I-75! read more

Ordered through Uber eats. Butter chicken and naan were delicious. Goat biryani was good too. Highly recommend

Everything was excellent. The ambience (not cluttered or overdone), the service (greeted warmly along with suggestions) AND the food was right on spot! I ordered Vindaloo and the spice level was exactly as suggested. read more

Great place. Their food is great the service is wonderful. I can't say much more. We love coming to this restaurant. We were told to go to another Indian restaurant in Claremont so we went. It was not as good as Amrit's Palace. Looking forward to returning to Amrit again. read more

STOP WHATEVER YOU ARE DOING AND DRIVE IMMEDIATELY to Amrit Palace for the BEST PARTY in your mouth- EVER!! Your mouth starts watering as soon as you open the front door!!! The ambience is beautiful, the service is spectacular, friendly and helpful and the food is OUT OF THIS WORLD - delectable, delicious, fresh and big portion!! The items are all MILD and if you want spice, they can add it- which was perfect for my mom and I as we don't like spicy food. We had the variety platter appetizer, the chicken tikka masala and the lamb vindaloo. The entrees come with choice of 2 sides. Can't wait to come back!! This is perhaps our top restaurant of any kind genre in The Villages/Ocala area !! read more

Sam is best. we loved the food. Paneer burji and dal soul was great.also kids loved erena.

I had heard this was the best Indian food in the area so on a Saturday night I drove down from Gainesville with two friends. The place was packed but we got a table without having to wait long. Our waiter was nice and helped to explain things on the menu, plus he was always checking back to make sure our waters were filled. I ordered the chicken vindaloo and some naan and they were very tasty and authentic. Overall I liked my first trip to Amrit Palace and I would definitely go back. read more

Wish I'd gotten photos of the food but it was so good that we ate it immediately. Great service, great portion size and beautiful restaurant. It is currently undergoing renovations but they still managed to make it look great! We drove close to two hours to go to a nearby tour and were looking to eat something, and this gem was recommended by a colleague, even though this place is far, we'd definitely drive to come here for great Indian food. read more

We noticed the restaurant's sign traveling up Highway 75 heading north on a previous road trip. So, we knew we wanted to stop there on our way back from Tallahassee. We got there toward the end of lunch, and the parking lot was pretty crowded. The restaurant is very attractive and clean inside, but not overly decorated. The staff was very friendly and seated us right away. Lunch came with a cup of soup; they were serving Lentil Soup that day, which was light and flavorful. We also ordered Onion Bhujia ($6.95) as an appetizer to share. It was crisp and well-seasoned and not at all greasy. I ordered the Lamb Curry ($12.95) from the special lunch section for lunch. There was more Lamb than expected for the price; the sauce was rich and very spicy as ordered. My husband went for his go-to, Palak Paneer ($16.95). It was a slightly different flavor profile than we've had in our travels to (northern) India or at local restaurants. But, it was very good. Our dishes were served with a large platter of slightly toasted Rice. Surprisingly, they served Soup and Naan to both of us as lunch specials, which was a nice touch. The food and service were very good. We wish we travel that way more often. read more

Excellent!! Service , food and ambiance Our go to for India food. Our waiter gave us perfect attention.

First, the atmostphere is lovely. We were seated promptly, and there was water available right away. Samer was our server, he was helpful, attentive and saw to everything. Our fool was simply delicious: We split the bhujia, which was crispy and flavorful, with three sauces to choose from. Mine fav was the onion chutney, while my best mate loved the mango. Our entrees were lamb vindaloo, and the Josh Rogan. Both were absolutely delicious. Our sides were crispy cabbage and chickpea salad. We treated ourselves to the mango cheesecake, and we were both thrilled with it. They make it in house, and it was smooth, creamy and flavorful. Definitely enough to share. read more

Amazing Indian food that never disappoints! A must visit every time we're in FL. We order a Dinner for Two meal and you get a 3/4 course meal. I was able to ask for Spicy sauce on the side to mix in the curry which is perfect when sharing the meal. The price is reasonable and the staff are very polite and friendly! read more

If you want Indian go here! The ambiance was really nice and the service was incredible! Probably the best I've ever had honestly. Super attentive. I had the methi chicken and it was delicious! Speaking of delicious- the rice was amazing! I usually don't like basmati rice but they just seasoned it and prepared it really good cause I had seconds and thirds! Also the water was perfect temperature and just really nice! I know that's a silly thing to comment on but it's true! read more

I met a friend for lunch after not seeing her for some time. The server Sam, was super friendly and helpful, taking the time to explain all the options and giving us all the time we needed to make our decisions. We started with an appetizer of Bhujia which is a crunchy little morsel with spinach and onions, served with three sauces, tamarind, onion chutney, and mango. For our entrees my friend chose the Rogan Josh and I had the Lamb Vindaloo, we both chose crispy cabbage and chickpea salad as our sides. For dessert we split the Mango Cheesecake. Everything was absolutely delicious, the lamb was tender and spicy, The rogan josh was super tasty. The sides were delightful and the dessert was beyond amazing. The service was so good, attentive, friendly, making sure we were pleased with our meals and keeping our drinks filled. We were given the space and time to really catch up and we will definitely be back! read more

This review is a little late in coming. (August 19th dinner) My neighbors in The Villages were adamant that my girlfriend and I join them at Amrit. Neither my girlfriend nor I have extensive experience with Indian food. But have liked it in the past. Our meal at Amrit was a buffet of sorts with everyone ordering what they thought they would like then sharing it. Wow! Very tasty, and we broadened our palate. Very happy with our visit and will return. read more

we have dined at Amrit several times before lovely restaurant and usually very good food. went there for my birthday lunch. My favorite chicken tandoori. sadly it was dry and the chicken nugget/tenders in the variety tray tasted old I'm going to chalk it up to they are under construction So half of the dining room is closed. so maybe the same for the kitchen. I will return won't cancel them for on botched meal But my warning is to wait until renovations are complete. read more

My nickname is Gravy Girl and this is all about gravy and sauces. So good. The sauces are all rich and flavorful with a depth of spices to excite the senses. As a friend suggested, we ordered it hot and I had not experienced this kind of heat. It doesn't burn or make you uncomfortable. The heat builds on your tongue and you simply use some Nan bread dipped in Rayta to cool the heat. What a great experience! The staff is so welcoming and friendly. They are happy to answer all your questions and give great description of the dishes. read more

Easy to reserve a table. Their service, food quality, selection, and attention to detail was AWESOME in every way! We visited for dinner the first on our Anniversary - couldn't be more pleased! The over 30 year old Ocala-based restaurant recently unwent an incredible and classy renovation a few months ago. They did an wonderful job! As for the food, the lamb korma and the vegetable korma were PERFECT! My wife loves Indian/Nepalese food, but only at a low spice, no spice level. She couldn't have been more pleased with her vegetable korma. That's one of the many great features and benefits of Amrit Palace; they don't mind lowering the spice levels of their dishes! I had a medium spiced lamb korma - and it was BRILLIANT! Don't be afraid of trying something new! You won't regret it. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND Amrit Palace and will, of course, be back...even though we live over an hour away. Well worth traveling for! Awesome!!! read more

This is a 5* restaurant because of the food is so amazing hummus to the chicken tikka masala, garlic naan. The flavors that just tantalize your tongue. Curry's so nice and creamery we had the medium heat but to me was not spicy enough. The basmati rice was also cooked perfectly. Customer service is on point, could not ask for more. His information about the dishes was spot on, took the time to explain and answer all our questions. Will return soon to try other dishes like there lamb and others! The setting is beautiful. Serene, wonderful service, and a nicely appointed restaurant. It was a visually pleasurable meal. However, the food as, overall, just OK. I've eaten a LOT of Indian food all over, and it just was not "knock your socks off" good. Nothing bad per se, just not quite on the same level as the restaurant design itself. read more

As a Brit who has also worked in India I think I know Indian food. Amrit is a big restaurant and it was very busy. Why, well I guess it's because the food is great. I had Chicken Vindaloo which I ordered hot (spicy) and really enjoyed. My wife had a mild goat curry which she also enjoyed. The rice was fluffy and the bread was good too. The staff were all busy but not too busy to be welcoming and Joe our waiter was great. My only grumble is that the covered the Kulfi with strawberry syrup which overwhelmed that distinctive kulfi flavor. read more

First off, is this really a palace? Second, I am not sure if you will care once you try the food. I am not sure if I love Indian food and I don't eat it very often, so I may not be the best to judge authenticity or "sticking to tradition" but this food was delicious. For starters, we had Keema Naan and Garlic Naan served with mango chutney and traditional coriander sauce (I think). The coriander was amazing and the bread light and flavorful, but the mango chutney was too sweet and too much like apple pie flavor. Then we broke off I to different flavor profiles: Butter Chicken - amazing declares my daughter who is not an Indian food fan and thus the reason I rarely eat Indian food. Vegetable Curry - another winning dish declared my other daughter, who is an Indian food fan. Rogan Josh - good, but not amazing. The sauce was really perfection but the meat itself was not. Shrimp Curry extra spicy - my wife's forehead was sweating but she was in heaven. Appetizer soup - not sure what this was but it was another dish my wife loved. While the food was good, the service is what really made this such a pleasant experience. The hostess was self declared as "The Empress of the Palace" and jokingly spoke as if we were her subjects. Then our server, who we later found out was part of the family who owned the restaurant, explained each of the dishes we were considering and then shared some information on the Indian culture, her experience as an Indian American and her years getting her doctorate. It really was captivating and we immediately wanted to take her on vacation with us. We do t live in the area, but when we are, we will be back. read more

In a word, amazing. We have had our eye on this place since moving to Florida and finally pulled the trigger. Had the appetizer sampler which was awesome and we both ordered the lamb chops given our love of lamb. Superb! Various sauces for dipping (the mint chutney on the lamb bone was just incredible). We will most definitely be back to try all the other dishes they offer. Almost forgot, service was excellent! read more

Thought this would be an adventure! About 18 of us went on a weeknight with reservations. We were assigned the back room with one server, he was knowledgeable, professional and patient with our questions, but alone, not enough for the ordering and later the bill collection . Iwas one of the last to order and one of the first served. I had 1/2 chicken tandoori, mild with a side of nann. A sizzling board of chicken was served,,extremely dry and. Looking like sweet potatoes due to the color. After several others has been served, my sauce ame and maybe 10 minutes later the nann was served. It was so deconstructed in serving that the sauce, which was an intercalated part of the meal was not served immediately, maybe on the same plates as the chicken. .... Nothing had a rhythm. There were several servers but nothing seemed to be organized. 2 people near me had chicken tiki Marsala. One had no veggies in the sauce serve as aside to the chicken, the other had spoonfuls of sauce. One woman was given the wrong Nan and an appetizer no one ordered. One server was not enough... Each of us was cashed out separately with one server with a device. Each had to be given instructions, it took forever. The restaurant was not busy. Several servers were around the bar talking.. Expected upscale, got mediocre all the way around...not a try again! With a post script....I've read and heard fabulous reviews... guess it wasn't my night by a long shot....respect everyone's opinions , read more
