Butter masala paneer, rice, and plain naan (to go)
Alyssa M.

Last time I came here was just for takeout, so I wanted to update my review since I ate at the restaurant this time! It is definitely still 5 stars, with delicious food as well as incredible service! My waiter was very helpful with giving me suggestions, answering questions, and even brought me a mango lassi on the house (which was incredibly tasty). The ambiance is also nice, with tons of seating and a nice calm atmosphere. This is definitely my favorite Indian spot in Gainesville and I hope to come back next time I'm in town.

Chicken and paneer saag

MUST TRY!! We got the chicken saag and paneer saag medium spice for two white girls who like a lil kick. Also garlic naan. Also the Meethi Lassi was delicious. The young waitress, hostess gal was a boss running the show.

Spice is right! Indian Aroma in Gainesville Had been hearing about a new Indian spot in town and finally made it to Indian Aroma on SW 13th. We showed up early, seated right away, right up front. The staff was soft-spoken, kind, and super polite--very helpful with the menu. We started with the Cut Mirchi--light, airy, and seriously spicy. Fun snack, great crunch, packs a punch. It comes with cilantro lime chutney for bright and fresh, and that tamarind chutney brings in the sweet contrast. Main dishes we had: - Chicken Butter Masala (medium spicy): Creamy, velvety, and rich with that signature sweet tomato flavor. It came out piping hot--needed a few minutes to cool--but worth the wait. Great flavor, and the chicken paired beautifully with the sauce and basmati rice. - Tandoori Malai Chicken Tikka Kebab: (Hot) juicy, flavorful chicken - perfectly grilled - smoky flavor of the tandoor complements the creamy base. I do suggest to not forget to ask for a side of rice--it's worth perfect accompaniment. The garlic naan and butter naan--warm, chewy, crispy at the edges. Perfect for scooping, dipping, or honestly just eating on its own. The space itself is very open dining simple and clean. Music kicked in halfway through, which helped make the vibe feel so needed!! This spot feels authentic, approachable, and full of flavor.

Tikka Masala with Naan

Indian Aroma is a short walk from the hotel I was at for business. My first visit was wonderful. The staff were pleasant and helpful and the food....the food was AMAZING!! I had the tikka masala and garlic naan. It was so tasty and flavorful!! The portion was large for one person so I had lunch for the following day!! I would definitely recommend Indian Aroma!!

So I placed an order for pick up - so this is my experience from the call in to pick up. I called right around 5pm when it stated they were open for dinner service. The person on the line was very nice and great with recommendations. I ordered the butter chicken (medium spice), garlic naan, and a mango lassi. She told me it would be about 30 minutes. Once I arrived, this business is located in the old Blue Gill location and fortunately they have signs for parking. As I had never been to the old Blue Gill, it was my first time inside and wow it's huge inside. Also, it's beautifully decorated. For all three items, it was about $25. Once I arrived home, I was excited to try everything. For starters, the mango lassi has a thick consistency and immediately you are hit with the sweet and spice taste of the mango and cardamom. It was really good but a little sweet for my taste. Onto the butter chicken that came with basmati rice was filled with buttery and rich flavors. The medium spice was subtle without overpowering the flavors of the butter chicken. The portion size was pretty good for leftovers. Now that garlic naan was a great recommendation and it was garlicky, fresh, and buttery. This naan came with 2 large pieces and obviously you have to dip it in the sauce to enjoy all of the deliciousness. Highly recommend getting that garlic naan. I definitely will be back soon!

It was great delicious fun to try this new Indian restaurant in Gainesville. When you navigate there, you can drop people off but parking is upstairs in a free garage. The space is large and clean and includes a separate event room. We ordered samosas, biryani, cut mirchi and more and enjoyed it all. Everything is made to order so be prepared to wait a little while. Good food takes an appropriate amount of time to prepare. Spice level can be specified so no worries on the heat, if that is not for you. Life is good with a new tasty restaurant in Gainesville!

Saag with chicken, dal and naan

The food is delicious. I got medium and it was a little spicy, just the way I hoped for. We live in St Pete and don't have food this good there. I would be a regular if I lived here. Try it

Garlic Naan, Hakka Noodles, and Chicken Tikki Masala

We came here for a date night and really enjoyed the food. We ordered the Samosa- Aloo and they were great small bite to eat before we got our entrees. The garlic naan and chicken tikki masala was delicious and you can decide how spicy you want it. We also had the Hakka noodles but they were okay.

Tandoori Chicken

The food was excellent and the seasoning of the food was done very well without being too spicy or salty. Service was quick and friendly. The ambiance was very spacious and well decorated.

Tandoori chicken hariyali

Some of the best Indian food I've ever had! The servers were very knowledgeable and kind, they answered every question we had efficiently and thoroughly. The malai kofta and the butter chicken were outstanding. Lovely decor as well, and a very chill ambiance. Highly recommend!

Following a visit to the labyrinthian VA facility in Gainesville, my wife and I were considering…read morelunch options. In looking at Yelp, we were drawn to the Indian Street Food place. Located along a building with another Indian restaurant and market and even a Vietnamese restaurant, this place has plenty of parking and quite spacious inside. We love Indian food and are always open to trying out new restaurants. We have not been to India (on the list of countries we plan on visiting) so not familiar with the street food on their menu so we opted for the more familiar options. My wife ordered the Butter Chicken combo ($20.99) and I tried one of the chef's specials, Bhatti Ka Murg combo. The combo came with basmati rice, butter naan and a desert called Gulab Jamun. My wife's combo also came with a samosa. The butter chicken was good...that sauce, which turned out to be the same sauce for the bhatti ka murg, was full of flavor. The naan was OK...nothing special and we've had much better naan. The rice serving was a bit chintzy. The desert was OK. My dish had decent flavor but definitely better dipped in that sauce. Having to content with bones from chicken thigh meat and drum stick meant I had to work for it but not too bad. While our meals had good flavors, we thought flavors and portions we had at Amrit Palace in Ocala were just as good if not better with more generous portions. We would often have leftover food to take home after a meal at Amrit. Lunch for 2 with tip was just under $54.

Indian Street Food - Gainesville, FL…read more 3550 SW 34th St, Gainesville, FL If you're craving bold, authentic South Indian flavors in Gainesville, Indian Street Food is a must-visit. We stopped by recently and were blown away by how flavorful everything was--from the first bite to the last. What We Ordered: *Andhra Masala Dosa This dosa was perfection--thin, crisp edges with a hearty, spicy potato filling that hit all the right notes. The accompanying sambar and chutneys were fresh and full of depth. Truly reminded me of the kind you'd get back home or from a proper street stall in India. *Vada Golden, crisp on the outside and soft on the inside--these savory lentil fritters were served piping hot and paired beautifully with the coconut chutney. Comfort food at its finest. *Cut Mirchi A spicy, crunchy treat that packed a punch. These fried green chilies are not for the faint-hearted, but if you love heat and texture, you'll absolutely enjoy this one. Service & Vibe: The service was friendly and efficient. Food came out quickly, and the staff were helpful in explaining the dishes. The space is simple and unpretentious--exactly what you'd expect from a spot focused on delivering street-style flavor. Final Thoughts: Indian Street Food delivers exactly what the name promises. Each dish felt like a love letter to traditional South Indian snacks--bold, spicy, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. If you're in Gainesville and looking for a taste of real Indian street food, this place should be high on your list.

When walking in, they had some old school Bollywood music videos. My order was taking quickly and I waited for about 10 minutes for my order. Once I got home, the food was still piping hot. I ordered the chana masala, which comes with basmati rice, and an order of samosas. The samosas were perfectly cooked and seasoned. They had a hint of spice but tolerable. The two sauces - tamarind and chutney were so good with the samosas. I wish I ordered more. The chana masala was very tasty, I went with medium heat since it was first time eating here. The spice was really good, I could've went hotter though. The masala was buttery and delightful. I could've drank the sauce it was that good. The chickpeas were cooked perfectly as well. The flavor profile of the dish was tangy but creamy. I wish I had some chicken tikka to throw in there. Overall a great take out meal and great portion sizes where you can stretch out these meals.

Each and every time I've dined at Amrit it has been an experience I'm grateful for. The service is…read morealways wonderful and the food just as good. The atmosphere is beautiful and I always feel like I have walked into a different kind dining experience. It's relaxing and a lot nicer than many of the local restaurants around here. I feel that it has a quiet nuanced feel that is simply elegant. I ordered the Create your own course because I wanted more. I was in time for the lunch special that they serve Tuesday-Thursday from 11-3 but that wasn't what I was looking for. When coming here I just wanted to enjoy my idea of the meal I can create. The create your own course is just that and for $40.99 you receive an "appetizer, entree, dessert served with two sides, naan or tandoori roti and sauce. If you would like an additional entree and two sides it's only an additional $16.99. Extremely reasonable for the amount of food you receive and how well the food is prepared and the service you get here. My favorite is the Chicken Vindaloo which is Chicken, chili, tomato and it has a little coconut in it. It's a spicy dish but a little tangy too. I love that the heat is flavorful and not overpowering that you cannot taste all the spices in the dish. The tandoori roti I enjoy thoroughly it pairs very well with this dish, I've had the Peshawari naan which is filled with cherries, coconut flakes, cashews and raisins and this is so different and delicious more of a dessert you must try too. I also had the chick pea salad and this is a mix of chick peas, lettuce, red onion, cherry tomatoes and cilantro. Nothing out of this world but refreshing. Last time I was here I had the Samosa Chaat for a starter it was so good! It's a potato turnover with chickpeas layered with chopped onions, yogurt, tamarind, mint chutney, and so flavorful! The Dal soup is also very nice it's a smooth mild soup made with yellow split pea lentils, some ginger and just the right amount of garlic. So many choices here and I'll keep coming back so I can be sure to try everything in the menu at least a few times! I have had dessert and I really enjoyed this as well wanting to try something different than I can get in most restaurants so I tried the Gulab Jamun that is a deep fried dumpling soaked in a sweet syrup that is infused with rose water and coconut. I don't know what to expect but I absolutely loved this and it wasn't as sweet as I thought it might be it was very pleasant and a mild flavor but truly delicious! Other than the food , the service is always really nice here, it's just a very nice experience coming to Amrit you feel lot's of peace and tranquility while dining. Highly recommend visiting Amrit you will not be disappointed!
