I would give 0 stars if I could…read more This was one of the worst customer service experiences I've had. I dropped my dog off for grooming, and after more than 8 hours, the grooming was never even completed. Instead of apologizing or taking responsibility for wasting an entire day, they still charged me $48 for a bath. There was little communication throughout the day except for saying he would be done roughly at 3pm or 4pm. At 4:30 I called myself to learn that he hadn't even been started on but mentioned that he was the last dog in so he was still "in line for grooming service." I'm not sure what takes 8+ hours for a bath and a grooming but clearly they don't hold the business acumen to account for the number of dogs and the staff to facilitate the demand. To make matters worse, they don't send appointment reminders or provide clear instructions about their services or expectations beforehand, which makes the entire process even more frustrating. The lack of professionalism was obvious from start to finish. Mistakes can happen, but how a business responds is what matters. Instead of offering a sincere apology or trying to make the situation right, I was met with poor customer service and still expected to pay for an incomplete service. I won't be returning, and I certainly can't recommend trusting them with your pet if you value your time, clear communication, or basic customer service.

We've tried other places nearby, and this is the one we trust.

So we decided to try them for boarding as well- they were so helpful and welcoming at check-in, they took time to answer all my questions and never made me feel like any were silly (He's our baby after all!). After talking to the staff for a bit I felt confident that they truly cared about the animals staying there and he wasn't just a number. They even have cameras we could tune in to and see what the dogs were up to. Ollie was bathed and groomed at the end of his stay, and they called to let me know as soon as he was ready. When I picked him up they were telling me all about his stay, how he adjusted, etc... I really love how they care about the dogs, it shows!

Every single time I tried to schedule a groom or boarding, there were issues. What should have been a simple process turned into a drawn-out, frustrating experience with poor communication and no clear answers. To make things worse, after multiple attempts to get something scheduled, they claimed they "didn't like my tone" and refused to allow me to make a reservation at all. I've never experienced anything like that. Instead of trying to resolve the situation or help a customer, they chose to shut the door completely. Customer service is where they completely fall apart. Responses are slow, often rude or dismissive, and there's zero sense of urgency or accountability. It genuinely feels like they don't value their customers. At this point, it's hard to tell if they even care about having customers at all, let alone new ones. Do yourself a favor and avoid 2nd Family Dog at all costs. There are plenty of other businesses out there that will treat you with respect and actually make the process easy.
