This is a hard post for me to make. I just moved to the area and i woke up and noticed my sweet girl was not feeling well. I called and they got me in within 10 minutes. The vet was so intelligent with incredible bedside manners. He did everything he could to help but decided she needed to go to a pet hospital. He even called the dr in charge at the one he referred me to and explained the situation and transferred her labs. He even walked me to my car. My sweet girl tragically didn't make it, but i just opened the mail today to find a Sympathy card from this office. My heart is so heavy with my loss but I'm so grateful for that gesture. I really cannot recommend the office and staff enough. Thank you so much for taking the time to acknowledge the life lost. read more

This is a follow up to my struggle to get my limping dog seen. I get her an appointment with another Vet's office on Preston Road just past El Dorado in Frisco, and wow so professional over the phone. A new patient file was opened, I was able to email all her records to them and they actually replied to my email. They confirmed her appointment that same day by text! When it was time for her to be seen, we went back and they actually had read her prior history of no lameness and asked questions about her activity of that day. After a short time of tests, it was confirmed that she had torn her ACL and will require a very expensive surgery. So, because Windmill Vet was so "busy" learning a new computer and they had patients getting vaccines that day, my dog would have to suffer with a torn ACL, no pain meds or diagnosis until they could squeeze her in 6 days later. Priorities priorities. Bottom line, if you have a puppy or kitten that needs shots & worming, this is the place. Anything past that is a crapshoot. Pet records won't be updated, the Vet probably won't be there next time you go in and getting an appointment will be a struggle because of ineptitude of their people. It's a shame about Windmill Vet but I should have known better; I wanted to have my dog neutered and they told me I had to call the Frisco office to make arrangements for his surgery in FRISCO. Yep, you got it, Frisco. I was told they just didn't have a Vet in Prosper to do surgery. Like seriously? I could go on and on with events like this but if anyone reads this and realizes that Windmill Vet Clinic is a waste of time, then my frustration was worth it. read more

I've never left a bad review on Yelp but today I must. I just picked up my dog (6lbs. 7ozs. Maltese) from Windmill Veterinary Center and I will never use them again. I boarded Murphy there for a week while we were on vacation as we had done before. I called and told the person who answered the phone I was on my way and I'd be there in 20 minutes so they'd have my Murphy ready and I wouldn't have to wait but much to my surprise they greeted me and told me that he wasn't ready and he had an accident. He had urine on his ears and that he must have urinated and then rolled in his urine. I've had him for 10 years and he's never once peed on his ears or rolled in his pee but maybe he did. Another time I boarded him the same thing happened and they said another dog peed on him. They said they would give him a bath but I told them I had a groomer coming to the house and I couldn't wait so they wiped his ears with wipes and he still smelled of urine. When I arrived home I put his dishes out with water and food and for a little dog he drank the whole dish of water without stopping. I left to put him in the car and I noticed they didn't give me his bag that I brought with some of his things. They couldn't find his blanket or his collar. I was so frustrated that I just left without his stuff. You can tell how much they care about their customers when they don't even comment on their customers reviews! read more

Had an appointment scheduled for today. When I arrived, there were cars in the parking lot, the lights were on inside, but the doors were locked and no one would answer for the few minutes I knocked (definitely loud enough for someone to hear). I could understand if there was an emergency, but have the decency to respect your customers by putting up a sign. read more

I am sad to have to write this poor review as I LOVE Dr. Robinson and have used this vet for 7 years. But the staff and "substitute" vets have awful customer service which resulted in my new rescue dog not being able to keep his neutering appt after I waited over 3 weeks. They did not give us pre-operative instructions despite the fact that I had called them 7 times over that 3 weeks period to make sure everything was done. Then the substitute vet was rude and no one ever apologized for their miscommunication. So I am sad to have to find a new vet after all this time, I do love Dr. R and would highly recommend him, but staff and other vet staff have made it impossible for me to continue to use them. read more

Probably the best Veterinarian doctor I have ever seen. This was my first time here, although I believe Dr. Robinson is new to the facility as well, I was so very pleased with the care we received. Of the many vets I've used over the years ( I'd say at least 10 different vets) Dr. Robinson had all of the qualities I look for in a vet. Usually I find a good enough vet and on one occasion I had a vet that was so bad I'd never return. Reason for my visit: My not so small 10 month old "kitten" had been vomiting everything he swallowed for 2 days. He loves eating non food stuff he finds on the floor so I suspected an intestinal blockage. Reason for my rating: Dr Robinson did a thorough exam and explained everything he was doing along the way with patience and a kind attitude. He provided me with his recommendation for next steps as well as alternatives and gave me an explanation of each. Not only did I feel comfortable with his assessment and recommendation, but I was also well prepared with information for what to expect and do next for each possible outcome. He also gave my kitten medicine via shot but first explained not only what it was and why we should try it but also explained how the medicine works to accomplish the treatment. You guys I have never had a vet willingly provide as much detailed information before, EVER! And I tend to ask tons of questions! I left armed with information that made me feel comfortable during the wait through a potentially serious outcome. Everything turned out fine. During the visit they took X-rays, he showed them to me and explained everything. Some vets do this, some don't. I like knowing what's going on. He also told me about some very useful tips for what I can do going forward. I rarely write reviews, yet I always depend on them when looking for new service providers. So, here's my contribution. This doctor is fantastic! I will use this place for all my pets for at least as long as he is there! read more

We boarded our almost 8 year-old dog Maverick with Windmill in Prosper, TX over the holidays. Unfortunately, he experienced health complications while he was boarded with Windmill and we were forced to make a difficult decision to have him euthanized on New Year's Eve. Dr. Wilcox worked closely with us through the decision making process. He actually performed extra testing and x-rays at no charge to us simply out of compassion for Maverick and our family. Dr. Wilcox's technical veterinary diagnostic work was extremely thorough and he was honest and forthright about Maverick's prognosis and the costs of additional treatment options. What my husband and I valued even more than the above, is the ways in which Dr. Wilcox went above and beyond the call of his duties. Maverick had stopped eating and drinking. When we told Dr. Wilcox that Maverick always eats the Kroger oven roasted chickens, HE WENT TO KROGER AND BOUGHT ONE AND TRIED TO HAND FEED IT TO MAVERICK! Dr. Wilcox also took time out of his New Year's Eve to go back to the clinic and check in on Maverick. When it was decided that Maverick was not showing any improvement and was not likely to do so, Dr. Wilcox used FaceTime to allow us to see Maverick and say goodbye to him. The experience of losing a family member while out of state and over holidays was horrible. Dr. Wilcox did everything he could to ease that pain for us. I have more positive feedback... Today my husband and I went to claim Maverick's ashes. They were beautifully packaged and presented along with a ceramic memorial paw print. We had some questions about the invoiced medical, boarding and euthanasia charges to go over and did so when we claimed the ashes. The staff was attentive, patient and pleasant to work with. I am sure all boarding facilities dread the loss of a family pet while in their care and with that in mind, the front desk associates called upon Jody, a manager for the clinic, to assist with our questions. Jody provided the same empathetic customer service that Dr. Wilcox did. In fact, she reversed the majority of the invoice charges stating that, "You have been through enough." I hope she didn't mind because my reaction was to wrap my arms around her and hug her big. I had been keeping my composure until the moment of her kindness and then my heart just let go. I WOULD use the facility without question to board a future pet. read more

Lisa at the front desk made an incredible first impression over the phone and in person. Lovely lady. We are new to Prosper and for the first time have not been greeted with Texan hospitality. Other than Lisa, the next three people we met, including the Dr, did not even introduce themselves to us. I don't believe I have been to a vet, children's doctor or emergency room that didn't introduce themselves and shake your hand. Very disappointed. Plus I didn't care for the remarks about how and what type of collar we use. Really can't go back unless we are in need of urgent care. Looking and checking for another Vet office with staff that can communicate with humans and animals. read more

I had given up on this clinic because they had a revolving list of vets and the office staff seemed like they wanted to be anywhere else but there. But then they got all new staff sometime within the past year or so, and THEY ARE AMAZING. Dr. Vanessa Ali knows her stuff and cares about her patients. She never rushes us, answering all our questions and once even got out books to show us what was wrong with our dog's knee. She doesn't hesitate to call specialists if she needs more information. Always gives detailed pricing list right up front that the staff go over with you , and give you the option to veto anything you don't want to do. We have a finicky senior cat that didn't like the joint chews Dr. Ali recommended & so we took them back and were able to get full refund. Whenever we go in to get refills or food, Jerri, the receptionist, always asks about our pets by name. On office visits, Dr. Ali and her staff always talk to our pets and rub on them constantly. They genuinely seem to care for our pets, and want to do the best for them, and for us. I'd highly recommend Dr. Ali and this clinic. read more

We have to find a new vet moving to the Prosper area and landed on Windmill. Our two cats were sick & one we had to put down. They talked us through all of our options for the different treatments they could recommend for both of our babies & the cost. They gave us a "deluxe package" as well as a basic plan for both animals so we could make decisions based on what we could afford and the doctor was very understanding of any decisions we made. After an agonizing decision, because of her condition I had to one of my babies, Penny, down and they were the most professional about it as well as caring and sympathetic. A week later I receive a letter in the mail from the Center letting me know they were sorry for my loss and all the staff signed it. The best part of it card, they took my Penny's paw print and stamped it on there as well. This made me cry and it's now in a frame in my home as the best reminder of her I could have. I highly recommend this Vet for their professionalism and care for animals. read more
