I'm really pleased with our first visit here. The doctor was caring and gentle with our rabbit who had an eye infection. I was expecting this to cost a fortune but it was only $51 for the visit and antibiotics. The same treatment would have been at least $200 at the vet we normally see. When we arrived we were able to check in by text. They came out to the car to help us in and brought us directly to our own room. The room was clean and the nurse was friendly. I was so relieved because I have a toddler, and a trip to the vet is usually stressful with long wait times, but this was so easy. Definitely coming back with my dogs. read more

One of our pits always has a hard time for her visits, but they were great today! We also get nail trims and very easy to schedule appointments and they allow you in the back room. Today's experience is just icing on the cake. Years ago this practice was the best. You could tell they cared for their patients and was devoted to providing excellent customer service. Now with the switching of ownership and the continued curb side visits, I feel my pets are no longer getting the treatment and attention they deserve. The curbside appointments were somewhat understood when this pandemic first stated, but it is no longer working. Treatments and attention to detail are being missed, but I'm still being charged. There is also no guarantee of communication with the actual vet, only things getting lost in translation between myself and the techs as they run from car to car. I brought in my 2 dogs this morning for vaccines for both and an ongoing ear problems and a nail trim for one. After getting home I realized the one dog had not gotten his nails trimmed, but I was charged for this. If the continued curbside wasn't a thing, this tiny detail wouldn't be missed. I wouldn't be back waiting for over an hour to get this mistake fixed and would not be very curious if my animals actually received any of the medical attention I have paid for. I will no longer be taking any of my animals to Tri County and I will strongly discourage anyone from taking their animals to Tri County as long as they have continued curb side appointments. read more

I couldn't be more grateful for Tri-County Veterinary Services... Yesterday, I called here, telling them my situation with my dog who had been to the emergency vet a day earlier. He has a skin wound that had spread on his face really quickly within a few days. (I was extremely unsuccessful in my efforts to keep him from rubbing it against things. I made the poor choice of buying an inflatable collar which I know not to do ever again for this type of issue.) Unfortunately, the day prior I went to a different emergency vet at a different location, that really didn't help all that much, and left him with a cone that was extremely loose around his neck. When I called TCVS, I let the front desk know about what my puppy was experiencing and the trouble I experienced in washing him due to his avoidance of being touched near his wound, they thankfully let me know that they had an availability same-day. (Seems to be a rare thing to find these days in the Anna area.) I brought Merlin here, and almost from the first phone call to picking him up, I felt the compassion from those whom I spoke to from this location. Over the phone, the veterinarian explained to me his situation to a lengthy degree, allowed me time to ask any questions, and sent him home with a clean looking shave over his hurt skin, and a handful of prescriptions to help him heal as much as he can. I felt so much relief when I saw him walking out of the vet's office. He looked SO much better than when I dropped him off, despite being shaved. I saw pretty quickly that his replacement e-collar/cone was SOOO much better fitted than the he had on before. I had a renewed hope for my puppy being on a road to recovery moving forward. SO thankful to this location!!! I couldn't be happier with how this situation was handled. Thank you to the vets at this location. Thank you for being patient with me as I tried to speak through states of panic!! Thank you for helping my puppy Merlin start to feel better and have a way smoother chance of recovering. He's thankfully eating again and open to water, unlike prior to this visit. Thank you Dr. Zwillenburg and any staff that supported him yesterday. My heart is filled with gratitude for you and your patience. Update: A couple days after that visit, Merlin's skin is healing so much! He is becoming happy again and is experiencing much less pain. My husband and I LOVE this place, Dr. Jeff and his staff is great to our babies (our dogs). Sadly I've had to put my cat down and we took her there and my sisters cat too. The place is really clean, professional, and family friendly. I'm a city person and I don't mind the little drive for the service we get there. Not every vet visit ends in great news but so glad I chose this clinic to neuter my pig, Milo. With the strange stuff that came up, I don't know that many other vets could have handled it in the way this clinic did. Unfortunately the crazy stuff going on within him caused him to succumb to those issues but it's apart of having animals and livestock. I believe the vets made the best decisions for him with his welfare in mind. Would 100% recommend them to anyone with pet pigs or swine in general. The vets here are AMAZING!!! I have been here several times for various issues with our pets, and I can't say enough great things about them! We have a Chocolate Labrador who is just around fourteen years old. He has suffered from SEVERE skin and ear issues all of his life. Honestly, I have seen just around sixty (yes 60) different vets (and very good, high end, expensive vets at that) over the years trying to figure out what was wrong with him, and no one was able to help him. He would scratch at his skin if you even touched him, so it was nearly impossible to show the dog any affection at all. Recently we noticed he had started having some heavy breathing, and we knew that with his age, that the time was probably near when we should put him down. It seemed the dog was just miserable, there was the scratching, itching, and now the heavy breathing and issues with walking very far without being out of breath. We took him to Tri County Vet. We had made an appointment to put him down. We were heartbroken that the dog has had such a pitiful time of it, and just wished we could have provided him some relief at least in those last days. As we spent some time talking it over, I came to the conclusion that we had never seen this vet, so why not give it one more shot. If this vet does not know what it is, then we will move to the next step of putting him down. At Tri County Vet (and yes - I am trying to send out another plug for the vet practice name here - I admit it!) we saw Dr. Jeff Garner D.V.M. He looked the dog over, did a thorough exam and said that the dog was now suffering from congestive heart failure due to his age. He also said that he believed he had a skin fungus. He put the dog on lasix, some other heart medicine, and an anit fungal. The dog is doing AMAZING!! He is acting like a puppy again, no scratching or itching, and happy and playful! He is even back to his old bad habits lol! Wish he had a pill for those.... Anyway, on every occasion that I have had to take an animal in, (and even my goose who's foot was torn, probably by a snapping turtle in our lake) they have been life savers. My personal favorites are Dr. Rick Garner D.V.M. and his son Dr. Jeff Garner D.V.M. I have seen them both for both cats and dogs, and they are absolutely the best veterinarians I have found since moving to Texas! read more

I brought my cat here last year for a declawing and took him home in a cardboard box with no explanation other than "I don't know". I guess the plus side is the staff were nice? They didn't charge for the procedure and I recieved a lovely card a couple of weeks later. Obviously that is sarcasm, I'd rather have my furbaby alive than some half-assed apology card. I do feel like the staff felt genuinely bad, but I won't be returning for so much as shots for my new cat, as I would prefer him to stay alive. read more

Dr. Jeff Garner "didn't know what was wrong with my dog" even though I told him he was very skittish and didn't like strangers and that I'm taking him to a renowned behavioralist to help with his fear/anxiety. He proceeded to tell me that "some kids need to be spanked" and that "training won't help" then egged my dog on causing him to snap at him and then Dr Jeff proceeded to pull my dogs leash with both hands up in the air so that only my dogs hind legs were on the floor and hit him in the face into submission stating that he just needed to "know who's boss." I left there in tears. We've been coming to this vet since I was a child and it's gone down the drain since Dr Garner SR retired. We won't be back and will quit recommending them to anyone. read more

After using Tri-County for 7 years I have nothing bad to say. They are just great! I even had a rabbit that was severely injured and had surgery and ended up with 3 legs. ( yes I loved that rabbit very much LOL) I have never in my entire life of owning animals had animals come of surgery they like do at Tri-County. I have also had several night and weekend emergencies and they have always called me immediately after leaving a message and met me at the clinic. Amazing commitment to animals! First no one made sure calling back etc in addition I never dealt with Jeff G on this day. There was an instance where a staff member felt I was talking loud but I was on my blue tooth. I spoke with Lori afterwards whom was very helpful and resolved the issue completely. I have indeed found vet services that are amazing and would recommend them to everyone I come across. The lack of customer service and response to my initial issues with your company was ridiculous. In addition, my husband had called or talk with Jeff G about the instance he overheard and never received a call back. The lack of professionalism is astounding and your attempting to make me the problem. The practice itself is good and the vets seem to care. That being said, Tri-County is vastly overbooked and it takes days to get an appointment. Once you're there you sit in the office waiting room for a while before beind led to the examination room where you and your already nervous pet are forced to wait another 30 minutes or so. It's inexcusable to be so overbooked that your pet patients are forced to wait for a long time to be seen. Many times the exam itself is cursory with little time spent with the vets themselves. Most interaction is with the vet techs who are great but we're there to see the expert. Just vastly overbooked and too busy for a nervous dog or cat! read more

Tri County used to be a great place for animal care. They've had some vets leave and the owner retired. Now they are pretty bad. They refused to see my dog when he had been hit by a car. We stopped in to ask why, they said someone would call us. They never did. They don't care. They used to say "call any time, day or night" Now they "don't do after hours small animal emergencies. We live in Anna and we're shopping around for a Vet. We started off trying the request an appointment link on the website that went ignored. We then tried calling several times over a couple of weeks to get an appointment. Rarely does anyone answer the phone. You have to leave a voicemail and perhaps someone will call you back. If you can't catch their callback, you will need to leave another message with them and wait again. We finally got an appointment for a check up and consult for a neuter and a hernia repair. That appointment went well and we scheduled for the procedures. On the day for the procedure, my daughter dropped off the dog and called my wife to confirm some items for the receptionist when dropping him off. When we pick him up, we find out they didn't do the hernia repair. We met with the owner. He offered to do the repair right away for free, but blamed the communication breakdown on several things, wasn't aware of the appointment request on the website. When the tech who confirmed the details with my daughter in the morning brought the dog out to us at pick up, he didn't even have an e-collar on. We had to ask about it. A lot of communication issues at this clinic. We will not be back. They were nice enough and things happen, but scary stuff when the simple things are overlooked. read more

I love these vets. I had to put my golden doodle to sleep last week and Mr Garner was so kind and compassionate. He did everything he could to make the difficult process as easy as it could be. I have a ranchette with lots of animals and all the vets are great. Dr Coleman has seen my dogs and helped me with a sick llama. Dr McIntyre has seen my horses for shots and a bad cut. Absolutely disgusted. I called about getting a house call for our family dog to be put to sleep, and after speaking to a receptionist it took FIVE HOURS for my call to be returned. That is disgusting. It's not like I wanted to schedule a check up. Our dog was in pain, and my mum wanted someone she (our dog, Lucy) could trust to be there in her last moments. I will also add that this was AFTER Dr. Garner assured my mum that he would make that house call when the time came to let her go. Thankfully we got ahold of another vet in the meantime, who was fabulous and helped us through the whole thing. After the 15 years of business we have given you (for animals both large and small) and all the people we sent your way? To say I am disgusted is putting it lightly. What a joke.. you must I ask these people how much their vaccinations are and get a recording of it. they told me that my vaccinations for my two Pomeranians that are 9 and 11 years old was going to be $276 and that was two nights boarding them and to give me an explanation if they had fleas or what kind of bug I was seeing and to do a stool sample I go to pick them up after the third day two nights of them staying there and they said oh they're done and they've had their shots. I said, did you you find out what kind of bug is on them? They said we didn't see any bugs did you find out about my dog's hematoma? We didn't find a hematoma they said. I said, well I guess you looked at the wrong dog. so sorry, they said. we haven't gotten around to finish your dogs yet and it's $432 and there is nothing wrong with your dogs and wouldn't let me get my dogs unless I gave them $432. they didn't tell me that price or I would never have left my dog's there for $432 for shotsl oh and by the way there was nothing wrong with my dog's no fleas or anyting hematoma on my dog's leg days ago yeah it's fine nothing's wrong with your dogs give us our money after fighting with them for days and days and days they told me I could come pick up the dogs the $330 then when I did tried to do that they said oh no you can pay us $330 but we're still keeping your dogs. These people are horrible pieces of crap no one trust them you better get a recording when you call and ask them a pric they are going to keep my sweet animals for no reason at all read more

As a whole the staff at Tri County Veterinary Services were amazing. The women at the front end desk were patient, knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Also, the veterinary technicians were knowledgeable, caring and conscious of my cat's needs. However, my experience with the Vet who directly cared for my cat was very poor. He lied to me about his projected Plan of care on more than one occasion which resulted in undue stress and pain to my cat, even as the cat was dying. He did not read the chart on my cat prior to providing care and did not know the cat's history, or that he had previously treated the cat. Furthermore, when I questioned the fact that he was not following his promised plan of care, he became defensive and verbally attacked me as the owner. I was making a very agonizing decision of euthanizing my cat after treating him for feline diabetes for 4 year. I paid tri county vet $125 monthly for insulin, paid their staff to try to care for the cat when I was out of town, etc. Unfortunately, the cat would not allow anyone else to give him a shot. I had paid other/ professionals to do this when I was out of town, they were not able to give the cat his shots and the cat was getting worse. After years of grabbing with this decision and long dialogue with my friends and family, I decided to put the cat down. Dr. Jeff Garner made the decision to shame me for euthanizing my cat, after he had already started the process and without knowing the history of the cat, because he had not read the cat's chart prior to initiating the process. I am a healthcare professional who deals with end of life issues everyday, and I pray that I never treat the patient or family like Dr. Jeff Garner treated me read more

Tri County has taken great care of all 3 of our dogs for years. They are thorough yet reasonably priced. Sadly, we recently lost our pug due to kidney failure. It was an extremely difficult time, but Dr. Garner and the rest of the staff were wonderful. It was very comforting to know that our sweet pug was in such good hands at the end of his life.
