Happy boy even on shots day

I have to brag on The Shot Spot in McKinney, Tx. We switched over from our regular vet about a year ago and I have loved this place since day one. Dooley is very much high strung with anxiety, and this vet has shown him such kindness, patience and car since we first came. It makes my heart so happy the way we're loved and treated here! Hands down THE BEST place to take your pup. Thank yall for loving my anxious fur baby.

The Shot Spot is very convenient to have around on the weekends. This is a mobile shot dispensary for your pet. I usually see it in a parking lot in our neighborhood on the weekends. When you go there, you have to put your name on a list and let them know what you need. Sometimes you can get in and out quickly, but sometimes there is a wait, so be prepared. Keep in mind, if you have to wait, it will be outside in the parking lot. The prices are a little higher than going to the vet's office, but you are paying for the convenience, especially on the weekends.

My kitten's first visit to the mobile services was quick and easy! Dr. Goleniak and her assistant answered my questions and let me know the general health of my baby. I'll be back for his second round of shots and probably visit again for my older cat ! Thanks again!

Thanks to Helen Keller and her mom for vaccinations for our Chows! We were treated fairly and we were very patient with Helen!

I highly recommend The Shot Spot!! I was referred here by a friend after I had called several places only to be treated like I was a bother. The young lady that answered the phone was very caring and sweet! The technician that helped the doctor with Nala was so gentle and sweet too!! The doctor called me and assured me she would be fine. He said I just need to baby her which is not a problem at all! We will definitely be back!

This place looks unassuming and I for one am thankful. They don't try to dazzle you with a fancy building and furniture. It's really quite simple. They're there to take care of animals. They we're friendly with each pet and family. The staff took their time and my dog was at ease. I have already recommended them. I forgot to mention they're prices were reasonable and you were told up front what cost what - I loved that, too! Well done! We'll be back.

I took my new dog that was 6 months old in for a spay and she came out butchered. She had an infection and large scar from the entry of where the Vet performed her surgery. I wasn't given a protective halo for her so that she wouldn't bite or lick her opening. The Tech mentioned oh she hasn't been messing with it since she's been here, no need for us to give you one. I demanded to speak to someone in charge. I was highly upset that they would treat my dog like she didn't matter. And when I first arrived they were trying to charge me all these admin fees and exam fees for her spay. I asked them why are all these fees necessary? The Vet finally came out and removed them. He knew I was upset and didn't even look my way to acknowledge my question. I will never go back to this place.

The ladies at the front desk gave me a warm welcoming. I felt a sense of hope. The technicians are all very kind, the doctor is acknowledging and listens to what I am saying and actually hears me. Although we don't know what is going on we actually have a plan and this plan was discussed with me as I was a human being and not a dollar sign. Left her in their care until this evening and we will discuss her future health and what is to come. Thank God for this hospital! They gave me compassion, patience, and understanding. They recently moved to a beautiful new facility, and their service has only gotten better, if that's even possible (It was pretty darn amazing before the move). It's incredibly easy to get appointments, and you never feel rushed. When it was time to put our older dog to rest, Dr. J.M. Stalling provided such compassionate care, truly treating our pet like a valued, very-loved family member - as she was to us. He explained every detail, gave us options, and allowed us all the time we needed to say goodbye before, during & after the process. All of the vets here treat your pets with the same importance as human patients. Their follow-through is stellar, with doctors personally calling after hours to check on test results and health issues. I will never go anywhere else as long as I have pets & live within 30 minutes of the location! P.S. I was compelled to leave a review because I am surprised by some of the negative comments posted here. I have only ever witnessed the staff being kind and respectful to clients/patients & co-workers. Also, it's unfortunate, but it seems some people dealing with the stress of a pet who is ill or the heartbreak of a pet loss may be misdirecting their emotions towards the practice.

Additionally, we requested our digs medical records and they will not provide them. On the morning of our appointment, we dropped our dog off at 8:00 a.m. for grooming. We were not informed at that time that grooming would not begin until approximately 2:00 p.m., nor that he would remain crated the entire day. We picked him up at 4:00 p.m. Our dog is a recently adopted rescue who suffers from severe anxiety and abandonment issues. We have only had him for approximately three weeks. The veterinary team at McKinney Animal Hospital is fully aware of his background and emotional condition, as we brought him in for a veterinary visit immediately after adopting him. Given this knowledge, it is extremely concerning that he was left in a crate all day without food and separated from his family for an extended and unnecessary period of time. Had we been informed at drop-off that he would not be groomed until 2:00 p.m., we would never have left him there for that length of time. In addition to the prolonged crating and lack of feeding, our dog was completely shaved. While he did have some matting, I had already removed several mats myself, and there was no justification provided for shaving him to the extent that they did. When we arrived to pick him up, we were genuinely unsure whether the dog presented to us was ours. His appearance had been altered so drastically that he looked like a completely different dog. He was also acting extremely timid and withdrawn, as though he did not recognize us. The entire experience was heartbreaking. When we expressed our disappointment and concerns, the manager on duty, Pamela, brought the groomer into the discussion. While we were calmly explaining that our dog has anxiety and abandonment issues and that he should not have been left crated all day, the groomer responded by stating that it was "probably because of us" that the dog has anxiety and abandonment issues. This statement was inappropriate, unprofessional, and deeply disrespectful. Although the manager immediately told the groomer she could not say that, the damage had already been done and the situation unnecessarily escalated. Throughout the conversation, there was no meaningful ownership of the situation. Instead, we were told that we had authorized a complete shave, which we absolutely did not. If we had been told that shaving him entirely was the only option, we would have declined the service and groomed him at home. Additionally, we were required to purchase flu shots and a fecal test before grooming could be performed, totaling approximately $120. The overall bill was approximately $250. When we requested a refund for the grooming service due to our dissatisfaction, we were offered only 10% off and a $60 credit. A credit is not acceptable, as we will not be returning. Given the circumstances, this resolution is inadequate. The lack of communication, disregard for our dog's known anxiety issues, prolonged crating without food, drastic grooming without proper consent, and the unprofessional and disrespectful behavior of the groomer reflect a serious failure in customer service and animal care standards. Due to this experience, we will not be returning to McKinney Animal Hospital. I urge other pet owners to carefully consider their options before entrusting their pets to this facility for grooming services. The manager Pamela and the owner Janel took no ownership or accountability for how our dog was handled nor their disrespect or unprofessionalism of their dog groomer. They simply did not care.

EVERY single interaction is them pushing unnecessary services that are obscenely over priced. Even the vets will quietly tell you about more reasonably priced services, to seek out. That tells you a LOT about the management. Clearly the new owners had one thing in mind. Cash profits over animal care.

I've had…read moremany pets in my life and have gone through many vets, but Lake Forest Animal Hospital has by far been my most trusted place. Dr. Singh has been an absolute angel in my animals' lives. Since my very first visit when I rushed in in a panic because my puppy had swallowed a baby bird, Dr. Singh quickly put me at ease and even discounted my visit that day. When my other dog, my soul dog, Nikita's, health was quickly declining and there wasn't much more that could be done, he did not pressure me to make any rash decisions and allowed me the time I needed without pushing unnecessary visits and testing. I am very thankful and appreciative for his honesty, patience, care and understanding. I've also had the opportunity to meet Dr. Sommermeyer for a check up on a very skittish dog of mine. My dog is a little weird with strangers and I wasn't sure how he would react, but I loved how confident and easy going Dr. Sommermeyer was with him. She definitely helped put my mind at ease. Another thing I want to highlight about this office is how hard they work and the long hours they put in. My mom had a senior dog whose health took an immediate decline and wouldn't have lasted through the night. It was close to closing time, but they were able to accommodate us last minute when we had to bring him in to put to sleep. They didn't rush us and allowed us the time we needed to be with him for a little while. The staff have always been wonderful and friendly no matter how busy they are. I've recently moved to Florida, but I wanted to give a shoutout on how amazing this vets office truly is! I can only hope I find another vet with the same care and dedication as Lake Forest Animal Hospital. *Pictured is my soul dog, Nikita, from one of our final walks together Thank you again Dr. Singh!!
