Chicken Biryani
Ishali T.

Did not enjoy the chicken biryani from this place. The taste was very off putting and nowhere close to a biryani. I have ordered biryani from any and all restaurants that would deliver to me in Seattle downtown area, and this has to be one of the worst ones.

Oreo Falooda
Riddhi M.

We got the faloodas from Ammi's Pakwan. The pick up while maintaining social distancing was well done. We got the Oreo and rasmalai falooda. While we were so glad to actually fine falooda in Seattle the taste of the faloodas was not great (personal preference) it was somehow a little sour which was not great.

This is what they gave me
Rajani L.

I went in there to try falooda for the first time and their picture looked so enticing so I thought why not. The place was dark and the server was unenthusiastic. My partner decided we should have a bite to eat before so we orders stuffed paneer naan and stuffed potato naan, they were thick, doughy , and not cooked properly. Like someone was not even interested in doing their job. Then the worst blow for me was that the sever brought out a weird looking thing that was suppose to be falooda. Look for yourself what they gave me and the picture on their yelp page and on their wall , it did not match . A pathetic experience.

Channa masala or Chilli Masala ?

My dear Ammis Pakwan, when I say extra spicy it doesn't mean to add a hell lot of chillis !!! Is this Channa masala or Chilli Masala ? Do u have any idea how this tastes before selling it ?

"Spicy rice with chicken tikka" instead of chicken biryani.

My go to place for Indian food. My favorites so far are chef special biryani, dal tadka and falooda. Spices are on point.

My friend ordered from here last night and even though it tasted okay (albeit too spicy), all of us who ate fell sick.

Spice Waala - Paneer Bhurji Kathi Roll

It was pretty quick service and price are sooo much more reasonable than other food trucks nearby. The line was long but it moved pretty quickly. The portion might look small but it was hefty. I got the lamb kebab roll and the bhel puri. Flavor was spot on. They were addicting. The lamb was stuffed in the roll and it was soft and very easy to eat. Definitely want to try soft serve as it looks sooo good on their social media page. I definitely want to check out their store eventually but for now, food truck it is!

Spice Waala is a really tasty casual spot for Indian food that I will definitely be visiting again!…read moreWe tried a few of their kathi rolls - the paneer, lamb, and chicken. I thought the lamb and chicken were really tasty, and each had a distinct combination of flavors. They pack a good amount of meat and sauce in there, so even though each individual roll is not huge, it feels really hearty. I agree with their guidance that you should get two rolls if you're hungry. The one thing that I think is missing a bit from the rolls is a crunchy element. They have some diced red onion in there but not that much. I think I'd like the rolls even better if they had more of a crunchy vegetable in there for textural variation, but it's still quite good. Will definitely be back to try some of their snacks.

So we visited here, with obv an appetite for lunch before leaving seattle on the start of our road…read moretrip, and we ATE. It was so so surprisingly good! We knew Seattle had a better Indian food scene, but, we were def taken by surprise. The unique thing of the menu was - they change it every 2 months, region dependent.. we were lucky to get the Maharashtrian menu - which consisted of various dishes from various locations and families. From a simple varan bhaat (yellow dal with no spices just tumeric and rich ghee, salt and lemon) and plain rice to the spicy Kolhapuri dishes (Both nonveg and veg) to the amazing starters.. and fantastic sweets (tried the puran poli) . The CHAI was just WOW! We met the headchef as well, everything was just fantastic.. the place the was well lit and big, very spacious.. the service was polite, prompt! Tejal was just too kind and helpful. This place def deserves more than a 5 star!

Super friendly, welcoming, and the kind of people who make you feel like you've been there before even when it's your first time. We didn't actually come hungry enough for a full meal, which I immediately regretted after looking around. The lentil soup is definitely happening next time, and then I saw the Beyti Kebab coming out of the kitchen... yeah, that basically settled it. So somehow we came in for Turkish coffee and tea and left planning an entire meal for our next visit. I haven't even tried the food yet and Cafe Turko already got me making dinner plans. Well played.

Appetizer portions are very small for the price (especially the dolmas) and the portions in general are very inconsistent (some items have huge portions for the price and some like the family platter we expected to be bigger). The pasta with yoghurt is not very flavorful I would skip and opt for another hummus instead. Presentation of the food is beautiful and the service is amazing, prompt and the servers do a great job so make sure to tip well. Desserts are not worth the price. The ambiance is great and feels authentic to turkey. Parking is street parking and can be difficult to find at dinner time so I would come early. Overall great place for a group or 3-5, I wouldn't reccomend this for a larger group.

The five of us shared a wonderful selection of appetizers and main courses. The garlic naan, biryani, chicken tikka masala, saag paneer and goat Karahi were exceptionally flavorful and beautifully prepared. I am Indian and some days I have this craving to eat good Indian/Pakistani food we were in…read moredowntown. Seattle and I searched and found this place. I was genuinely excited to try it but unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. The restaurant itself felt dingy and underwhelming. We ordered goat curry and biryani, only to be told that they didn't have goat ready and that our food would take about an hour. We decided to have chai while we waited, but it took around 20 minutes to arrive. When it did, it was lukewarm/tepid and tasted as though it had been made from a ready-made mix. You don't mess with an Indian person's chai.... So I decided this wasn't the place for me. Also we didn't want to wait an hour for dinner, we asked if we could leave. We were then told that our food order had not even been placed yet, so leaving was fine. Then came the biggest shock: one cup of non-chai cost me a whopping $10. I have never paid 10 bucks for a chai EVER. I genuinely thought there had been a mistake. But no that's their chai price. Total rip off. If u know what good/decent desi food and chai should taste like--and what they should cost--I would personally skip this place. The atmosphere was disappointing, the service was slow, and the pricing, particularly $10 for one cup of mediocre chai, was honestly unbelievable.
