Very nice food and ambience. Food was well made and portions were large. I took leftovers home and they covered a whole other meal. There was a delay in clearing tables, but rest of the place was clean. Decorations were nice. Nice color scheme and lighting too. The noise level was very high. We could hear the chefs/cooks cooking and clanking away in the kitchen all the way at the table right next to the front door. Bathroom was clean and well stocked but again everything was loud - super squeaky door and paper-towel dispenser. My husband and I ordered the drunken noodles (extra spicy) with chicken and the panang curry with chicken and we shared both. There was no spice to the drunken noodles whatsoever. Worse, the dish was so overly salted that we both felt really gross all evening after we ate (we also could not finish it). The panang curry was so-so - not very flavorful. Went for lunch with a friend and ordered Chicken Pad Thai and Spring Rolls. You have to view the menu on your phone which was distracting. Spring rolls were good but the Chicken Pad Thai was too sweet and not much taste - needed spring onions. We were the only people in the restaurant. This place had very good food. As someone who has to have halal meat always, I was very happy to find a place that brought that but also with the price. It was incredibly fitting and my wallet thanked me haha The only thing that kind of ruined it for me was the fact that my onions and scallions were practically raw, and gave me reflux as a result. I don't know if this was the way the food was supposed to be cooked, but I guess next time ill just ask them to cook it more. There are only a couple places I go to for Thai food and Amina Thai is bomb. I went here for dinner and the place was pretty empty so I was a little skeptical. The waitress that served me was really friendly and made sure I got everything I asked for. I ordered the Pad Se Ew and it was delicious. There are quite a few Thai food places in Silver Spring (and all worth trying) but this place has stolen my heart. Not only is it some of the best tasting and well seasoned food I've had, but they have a creative array of dishes to try! The staff are always so pleasant and friendly when I pick up or order for delivery. Before this Amina Thai opened up, I used to drive anywhere from 35 minutes to an hour and a half to go the Amina Thai in Rockville. As someone who eats only halal food, it's difficult to find a restaurant that has more than halal lamb. Amina Thai serves halal EVERYTHING. On top of that, it's authentic Thai food. This location is larger than the Rockville one, and is located right off of Route 29. Parking can be an issue, as there is only street parking. This location has a bit less of a "home-y" feel to it, but a nice ambiance nonetheless. Now, one to the food. We ordered the Chicken Satay as an appetizer, which was delicious (almost contemplated getting another order!) I ordered the Red Salmon Curry Seafood Pot, which is probably enough for 2 people. They are very generous with their serving sizes, and definitely do not skimp out on your meat of choice (for the seafood pot, I had a whole filet of salmon, 5-6 shrimp, and 3-4 large pieces of eggplant). If there is one suggestion, it would be to initially provide more rice to everyone. The bowls are kind of small, and usually I'm on to request another bowl. However, they don't charge for extra rice and it's always ready, so this isn't that big of a deal. Overall, great addition and supplement to the Rockville Amina Thai. read more

I order dinner from here every once in a while, enough to have my favorites, but not enough where the driver knows me. Pad see eaw is chewy and sweet. The pad thai is delicious and burns your mouth. The soups are good too. I love their red curry and their green curry, especially in the summer and early fall because of the eggplant! If I could, I'd order it with extra eggplant or just eggplant... Great experience. I had pad broccoli and my date had the beef pad Thai, gluten free. Both were excellent, and the kitchen seemed knowledgeable about gluten sensitivity. The Tom yum soup is also gluten free. It's a cute space with stylish light fixtures (although if they weren't so bright, the space would have better atmosphere). I was nervous returning to the DMV with my boyfriend. Having lived there for 19 years, I found that the DMV's food was below standards of the rest of America. That being said, I'm really happy that I found Amina Thai. The food was really tasty and exceptional. The prices weren't bad and the service was great. My boyfriend and I have ordered from Amina Thai an embarrassing number of times in the past few weeks, but it's the only thing we ever want now. The estimated delivery time is usually about an hour, but we have always gotten our food in about 20-30 minutes. Our new long term relationship with Amina was sealed tonight when we got a call from the delivery driver, after dropping off our food order, because he had forgotten to give us our drinks. We hadn't even noticed the drinks were missing, because we were stuffing our faces with delicious fried bananas and curry. The curry dishes have been our favorites, but I was also really impressed with the drunken noodles. Tip: the online ordering on Yelp is fine, but it doesn't show the whole menu. I've ordered Amina Thai several times with different delivery services and have dined in several times, as well. It's not the fanciest restaurant to dine in, but the food is good and service is attentive. I appreciated that the last time I visited, their menus asked customers to specify that they wanted their food gluten free. I usually assume most Thai dishes are gluten free, but it was nice that they take the extra effort to ensure customers are dining safely. I'll definitely be back. read more

I took a break from my normal thai delivery to try Amina Thai for the first time. I ordered chicken massaman curry and chicken pad see ew. The food was delivered in 30 minutes, which is pretty gpod for a Sunday night. The pad see ew noodles were overcooked and had a mushy/slimy texture. Also it tasted more of broccoli instead of sweet soy sauce. The massaman curry had a good flavor, but it was very greasy instead of creamy. Overall I was not impressed; but maybe I need to try the drunken noodles or panang curry since everyone has said good things about both. read more

This is by far the BEST Thai food EVER!!!!!! It has replaced The Kitchen Thai and oh my God it is good. Myself and 3 friends went yesterday (they just opened last week) everyone had something different and we all tried each others food. 5 stars to every dish!!!!
