My absolute favorite Thai place! I live nearby but only discovered this place earlier this year. It quickly became a favorite and I get takeout pretty much every week! The customer service is beyond, every one who works here is so kind and friendly, and most takeout meals are prepared very quickly! I've tried 11 dishes so far, and have loved them all. My favorites have been Roti Phuket (delicious soft roti bread with a very tasty curry to dip it in), the Noodle Soup (incredible broth with a variety of vegetables and egg noodles), and the kaprow fried rice (fair warning, i can handle a great deal of spice, but the first time i ordered this I chose "spicy" and it was a bit painful/tears and mouth on fire for hours-level spicy)! I also strongly recommend the spring rolls, drunken noodle, pad thai, pad see-ew, spicy lo mein, and the Thai iced tea!! read more

I've always ordered from the Rockville location and never knew of the silver spring location which was 5 mins from my house. The food is some of the best Thai in the DMV. I ordered the minced chicken basil as well as a veggie drunken noodles. The food has so much flavor it was mouthwatering lol. The portions were very fair and the prices especially for a downtown location restaurant was more then fair. I also like the Thai place a few doors down but Amina is the 1st option always. read more

Nothing negative to say but it wasn't life changing, but it was good. I am conflicted. Anyway, I ordered soup! I ordered the Tom Kha soup, it had tofu (but you can choose chicken), mushrooms, tomatoes, lemongrass broth, and coconut milk. This soup was my absolute favorite. I am craving it right now as I write this review and reminisce. My boyfriend ordered the Veggie soup, it had tofu, broccoli, carrots, mushrooms, and corn. This wasn't very flavorful but if you were sick, you should order this or drunken noodles so your sinus' clear out :) We ordered spring rolls. I personally prefer chinese spring rolls better, but I couldn't figure out why. But I wouldn't order them in the future. Went here for Labor Day weekend lunch and were pleasantly surprised. We weren't expecting much from a halal Thai place but they did have some decent dishes. We ordered the basil Thai fried rice, the drunken noodles, pad Thai and washed vegetables. For the appetizer we ordered the tom yum soup. The soup was ok, not spicy at all. More sour. Wasn't the best, wasn't the worst. The washed vegetables tasted like simply that. Not too impressive. The good stuff included the fried rice and drunken noodles. We read from previous reviews that the drunken noodles and rice dishes are on the milder side even with giving them "2 peppers" on the menu, so we asked for extra spicy. This made them very worthwhile and were almost comparable to regular Thai dishes. I would definitely recommend asking them for more spices. The atmosphere is quaint prototypical semi fast food restaurant. Not something to look twice at. Food was great and average at the same time. *tip* ask for extra spicy!!, watch for the check. I tried their pad thai with chicken and kaprow with beef. The pad thai was okay. The flavors were definitely muted compared to pad thai at other locations. Chicken was really dry. Portion size was perfect. The kaprow with beef was decent. It could have used more herbs. One interesting thing is that the used beef slices as opposed to ground beef. I thought this was very nice but the meat was overcooked. The dish also includes some bell peppers for color and taste but overpowered with the amount of the provided onions. The decor is nice. Service was excellent. If you pay using a cc, they bring the ipad over with the square processing device. Overall, I would say it's a solid 3.5 place. I wouldn't mind coming here again. read more

I love Thai food, but in my opinion, most Thai restaurants are the same and none really stand out. If it's Thai, it's good to me. But this Thai place is definitely one of the better Thai places I've been to, especially in this area. We had a red mango curry which had a nice depth of flavor and the chicken wasn't dry. The crispy seasoned fish in garlic sauce was a stand out dish also. The fish was perfectly cooked and crispy, and the sauce was a perfect savory coating to it all. So, if you have any Thai food cravings (like I always do), this is definitely a restaurant to check out. I'll be coming back the next time I have a craving. read more

Yooo the food was so yummy! My family and I ate here and the food was very delicious! We all got beef drunken noodles and my goodness! It was honestly the best! I feel bad for those who didn't have a good food experience. Thai food is my favorite food and I ate it a lot growing up in Queens, NYC so i definitely know good Thai cooking from mediocre Thai food. I also strongly believe in being kind to the people serving me food in ANY restaurant, like the waiter/ waitress and the chef. I speak to them in a very friendly manner and when they make a mistake (because we're people and people make mistakes) I don't get fustrated and angry, I just inform them of the mistake in a kind tone, laugh it off and they usually are more than happy to replace it and fix the problem. After eating I always say thank you to the chef that prepared my food, and sometimes the chef comes out to talk or say thank you back. My favorite restaurant in downtown silver spring has ample seating and good size portions on their food. We ordered the phanam chicken, Penang curry, drunken noodles, and Tom yum soup. Everything was really good, but the drunken noodles were the BEST. I also ordered a iced Thai tea which is really sweet, but very good. Woah! I must say I have never had an experience like this before and I MUST share. I have been ordering from Amina Thai for the last few months and was always extremely happy with the quality, flavor and pricing from this new restaurant. One evening, my food arrived and it was....not great. I was pretty disappointed because I thought I had found my new favorite restaurant for take away. What happened next was truly amazing to me.... I emailed the restaurant through Yelp to let them know I was not happy and felt like I had wasted my money. I did not actually expect to get a reply. I got a call from the manager the VERY NEXT DAY apologizing for my order not being perfect and offered me my next order for free. I let a week or two slip by and figured they would have forgotten about me so I didn't call back to get my free food. Today, the manager called me again to remind me I have credit with them and told me he went ahead and refunded my grubhub money to my account. This is the BEST customer service I have ever received from a restaurant. I will happily order from them again and again knowing that they really care about their food quality and customer satisfaction. Alas, my search for good, quality Thai food in the Silver Spring area is over!!! I stumbled across Amina Thai a few weeks ago as i was walking home. Since then, I have both ordered delivery and eaten inside of the restaurant. The restaurant is quaint, but I would much rather enjoy my food from the comforts of my couch. This review is for the delivery. I must confess, that I live so close to this restaurant that the fact the I pay for it to be delivered either means it's that good, or that I'm incredibly lazy. I am a creature of habit, and therefore seldomly deviate from my normal order of Panang Curry or Masmaman Curry (please excuse any spelling errors). Both are simply divine! The curry is always delicious with the right balance of creaminess and flavors. The vegetables in both are always extremely fresh. The participate in the Eat24/Yelp delivery service which is also very convenient. The ordering process is seamless, allowing you to customize everything from level of spiciness to special directions for accessing the building. The delivery is always quick and the food arrives fresh. I do acknowledge these things could simply be due to the fact that I live within a 5 minute walk of the restaurant. Overall, i am certainly a fan of Amina Thai. I understand that they have a location in Rockville as well, so I am happy that they decided to come to Silver Spring. read more

I haven't had thai food in a long time, so I stopped by here one weekend afternoon with a friend. I'm glad I did; I now know this awesome place also has a location in Rockville (which I'll also review). The venue has plenty of indoor seating and we were greeted by a waitress when we walked in. I saw roti with yellow curry as one of their appetizer options and I knew I had to have it. 10/10, would recommend! If only they had it in a larger size; I'm considering ordering two servings next time just to get more roti. Confession: I tried one of the flat noodle dishes, but I've completely forgot what it was called. All I know was that it was delicious and that I'll be ordering carry-out the next time I want some quality food to-go. I'll do better next time, guys. EDIT: Thank god that I caption my photos. I used to frequent the Amina Thai in Rockville/North Bethesda. So when I heard they were opening Amina in Silver Spring, I was super excited. Although, my experience with Amina was good. This location is not consistent to the other location at all. My Favorites... Spicy Eggplant Drunken Noodles The Spicy Eggplant dish here is ON POINT. The eggplant here is cut into THICK huge slices then cooked in a delicious spicy basil sauce. My favorite thing here! The only thing I'm not crazy about here is the Pad Thai. It's too wet and sour here. Which is interesting, because it's my go-to at their other location. There are 4 other Thai spots in the downtown area and Amina is most expensive. Amina charges about $2-3 more for a dish. Service is excellent. Whether it is dining in or ordering delivery, they are always very nice, accommodating and quick! read more

If I could give a 0 star review I would. 2 words- HORRIBLE SERVICE. My husband and I came to eat with my 2 young kids, 4 and 1. The entire dinner not a single person waited on us the entire time. We had to get up and ask for water, dessert, check, boxes, each time separately. On top of that, they charged us 15% gratuity "for the mess the kids made." So when we confronted them about the gratuity charge (mind you we were going to leave a tip anyways but were not happy with the service), these are some of the things the owner had to say to us - "You complain about my service, why you no control you kid?" - because my non verbal 1 yr old screamed a couple times through the night. And what about the fact that we're paying you to eat here, so that's why were complaining.... "Why did you come to eat here" "We don't want your money, you keep it" at which we responded that's not the point. But she sent a waiter chasing after us with cash refund of the tip. To top it all, the food was mediocre. Overall a very horrible dining experience which left my entire family with a horrible taste inn our mouths. read more

The only thing that disappointed was the appearance of the entrance...very blah. Decor needs updating. Nothing on the walls. Got take out on a rare Silver Spring visit and was satisfied but not blown away. We started with some yum nua, and it was indeed yummy. Simple beef salad, with onion and fish sauce. Then came the ka prow chicken, an old fave that was the star of this meal. Solid basily, garlicky flavor and good portion. And soaking the white rice in the sauce was an extra special treat. We also tried the drunken noodle, another old fave that sadly did not live up to our hopes and dreams. Again good portion, but it was very bland. Also note there is no parking, and I had to drive around helplessly for awhile before stopping in a no parking zone and crossing my fingers. I got away this time. read more

Ok Thai food. I got Uber eats delivery. It came hot and steamy which was good. I got the drunken noodles with chicken and tofu. The fried tofu was awful. Greasy with no flavor. The chicken was good and the noodles were flavorful. The tomatoes in the noodles were not very bad but not good but then again it's not tomato seasoning so. The staff was not friendly, the waiting time was more than expected, and to top it off they did not even seal the container when putting it in the bag. I ended up with a carpet covered in curry and food that was disappointing due to all the curry being leaked out. However the flavor that did remain seemed to be well done and I'm assuming in store this might not be an issue.
