This laundromat is way above the other two I have visited in East Plano. My washer broke two weeks ago and still waiting on the part. Last week I wept another laundromat and it was an awful experience on many levels. Based on that experience, I was dreading going today but chose Amigo as it had good yelp reviews. The staff is helpful and you can actually find them! They offer wash and fold service if you are in a huge hurry. It was busy but not insanely crowded and the patrons were orderly and were respectful to other patron's space. Annual visit to wash the queen sized bed spread and one large pillow. Too much overloads home machines so this is good alternative. Save money bring your own soap and whatnot. Prices range for $3-$6 based on size of machine. In/out no problem on weekday morning. Machines take only quarters so bring own or $1-$5 bills and use coin changer. I used the large 6 load machine to wash my dog beds. I always use hot water to sanitize all the stinkyness and germs because dogs funk up those beds. Anyway, as I was putting in detergent I noticed that the machine was filling with cold water. No problem, I'll just notify the attendant. She comes over and says, yeah the water is warm, not hot and looked at me like "so what". I paid for hot water so my things can be sanitized. She says "I worked in a hospital and we cleaned things with warm water all the time it's fine". Except I PAID for hot water and if the machine doesn't get hot I want a refund." We went back and forth for a bit and she reluctantly allowed me to transfer wet clothes to another machine which did get hot. Most of the machines are old with the exception of about 5 new larger loaders hidden towards the back. The only reason I wasn't stuck with a warm wash was because I argued with the attendant. Poor customer service is enough for me to never come back. Next time I'm going to PTC Laundry up the street. read more

This place was kind of small, and had a lot of people in it for a Sunday morning when I went. It wasn't bad... decent amount of washer and dryers and a few tables to use for sorting your laundry. Air conditioning and tinted windows definitely helped keep the place cool from the heat inside and out. I believe the closest ATM is the grocery store across the parking lot; not technically an ATM, but you can purchase a small item with your card and get cash back. Since this laundromat offers washing services, a lot of the bigger washers were already being used by the owner/manager to get orders ready. Coupled with how packed it was, I had to waste money using smaller machines. I ended up spending about $20+ washing and drying two large baskets of laundry. read more

The change machine gives you only coins back, even after putting in $10. Credit card not accepted by any of the machines. Hot inside but unfortunately being outside is no better in the summer even at nights. There was a fan blasting from the corner but the air coming from it was not cool. Cheap but great washing machines - $2.25, $3.50 and $4.50. Free dryers. No tables, only chairs. A friend of mine studied on the floor, sweating. Would bump up the rating if there were better payment options, improved a/c and addition of counter space to study on - maybe along the windows or walls where the chairs are. At least there's places nearby in the strip mall that are open during the day. UPDATED: Owner responded. THANK YOU! Did not see the sign saying credit card payments would be accepted. And it was hard to determine who worked here. Maybe because there were a lot of people when I was there. But I am glad to find out that there are other payment options. This place is awesome and affordable! My washer is broken so I had to look for laundry mat around East Plano and I'm glad I found this place in yelp! They also offer dry clean and you can pick it up the next day. How awesome is that?? The facility is clean, there's plenty of coin operated washer. They have heavy duty washer for big comforters too! Dryers are free if you wash here but if you just come to dry your clothes you can do that too and it's $0.25 per 12 mins. They also offer laundry soap, fabric softeners in case you accidentally forgot it. Clean bathroom is a major plus and they have it! The area is close to Aldi, Richard's Poor Cafe (which I like to dine in for breakfast!) and other stores which is easy for me to multi task and run some errands for a bit while waiting. read more

Even though it is busy, I was able to use washers and dryers at a reasonable time frame. The washer I use costs $4.50 but I get a good amount of stuff laundered in it. The dryers are a quarter every 12 minutes. I usually need three quarters for them. I like how there is a clean restroom there. Although I didn't see any toilet paper in it. There's drop off laundry service I see a lot of people use. And vending machines for detergent and softener in case you forget - I did the first time I came here. I'll continue to come here even though it's a 18 minute drive from my house. I really like the cleanliness and quick usage of the washers and dryers. I'm never here for over an hour! read more

Great! I needed to wash some large comforters and they had the right facilities for it.It took 24 minutes and cost $4.50, and it was 25 cents for 10 minutes. They accept credit card, but I couldn't figure out how to do it and I didn't ask. Nevertheless, you can use quarters and they have a machine in there that will change $10 and $20 bills into quarters. It is in a large strip mall that includes many second hand stores, comic book store, an Aldi supermarket, and a diner. There is a lot to do if you need to wait. read more

Well, we had a king sized comforter that needed washed (cat issues...). As it is too large for our washer, we have had it professionally laundered in the past with fair at best results. My wife suggested we take it to a laundromat and wisely recommended that I find one close to a bar (estimated wait time - two hours...smart wife). Yelp directed me to Amigo Laundry. Clean facilities, new equipment, nice clientele (close to bars). We will no doubt be back as the experience was great and we have the same cat. read more

Completely impressed with this place. Super clean, new machines of different sizes and relatively inexpensive. I've been several times while without a dryer and tend to go late in the evening before they close. Without exception one or two people have been there cleaning the entire place at the end of the night, mopping floors and wiping down the machines. Note: if you go late, just be aware the cut off for the last wash load is 9 pm and they lock the doors shortly thereafter, even though they don't close till 10 pm. I've come after 9 pm just to dry a load and they have had to let me in. read more

Nice and clean. Helpful staff. I took a comforter to wash in one of the high capacity machines ($6.25). Chose extra wash (+$0.25) and extra rinse (+$0.25). Took about 33 min. I didn't see free dryers, but I used the high capacity one. It was $0.25/10 min. I will go there again with my loads that don't fit in my own washer. Why in the world am I rating a laundry mat with 5 stars? I would love to tell you why. It seems crazy, I know. But hear me out. My washer is on the fritz and a new one just isn't in the budget yet. I have put off going to a laundry mat again and again. Who wouldn't? They are dumpy, scary, dark, hot and people are roaming looking to steal your clothes. Plus. Boring! What am I going to do with 2 hours of watching clothes spin around? I love to read, but I can't get into reading my book in those awful metal chairs and no toilet nearby. With reluctance and dread in my heart I forced myself to come to this laundry mat I had noticed on my occasional trips to Aldi or the thrift store in the same parking lot. I walked in and dropped off my first bucket of clothes. Then walked out to grab another. A kind man ran out the door and said, "I didn't realize you had a few loads. Let me help you!" What?! He helped me carry in my numerous loads. He was polite and kind and the definition of courteous. I was shocked. I have never been offered help in a laundry mat. And when I walked in it didn't stink! It was clean. It was, dare I say, bright and cheerful? It was! The washers and dryers are obviously wiped down regularly. The walls are a happy blue, free wifi was advertised, the prices weren't just reasonable, they are downright AWESOME! $2.25 per load and free dryers. The few people in there were chatty and friendly just like I like them! The owner is so nice. He even offered to let me go browse the thrift store and said he would transfer my clothes if I wasn't back in the 25 minutes it would take my clothes to wash in the awesome brand new washer. Of course I got caught up at Family Thrift (review of this gem to follow soon) and when I returned the owner, his name is Michael by the way, was folding my kids' pajamas. I felt so bad that I had been so long but he just smiled and brushed it off. We folded laundry together and just chatted. I never saw him brush off a single customer. Who writes a review of a laundry place. My wife and I were returning from a week in Colorado. Everything we had was dirty. We were tired and no way did I want to do a wash. I happened upon this place and called. The owner answered. A nice, positive, I'm gonna take the laundry world by storm type guy. I loved him immediately. I dropped off 22 lbs of dirty clothes. Three hours later I picked them up. The shirts were freshly laundered and hung on hangers. All the other stuff was folded neatly and placed in a clear bag. I paid and left.
