We decided to try Amici we were in the mood for Italian food . I had NONA 'S shrimp, and scallops over pasta it was amazing very good size portion. The sauce was delicious The best part is they gave us warm bread out of the oven to soak up the sauce. Yum My husband had Veal and Shrimp Dicapo nice size pieces of veal shrimp was done to perfection . He also asked to substitute the mashed potatoes for pasta which was not a problem at all . The staff were very professional and helpful when asked to describe our dish . A plus was they came over with Parmesan cheese and graded it at table side. The atmosphere was clean and updated.

It was surprising to see a wait on a Wednesday night in the summer, but a few large parties had come in. I was happy to see how the manager handled the wait. They had empty tables but not enough servers on, so they did not see people. That was smart. Amici puts the "wait" in waiter! We sat down but were served first by the hostess and then the manager and then our waiter. Dinner was not long to arrive after the ordering. It was not difficult with two of us. My wife had the salad and I had chicken parm. The salad was good, but the chicken parm was chewy, maybe overcooked or not so fresh. I decided to go all in with a cappuccino and tiramisu, with the coffee being the best thing I had that night. Tiramisu is ok. Not a contender in my top list. Overall, an ok dining experience. Unfortunately I will not be rushing back.

Great Italian restaurant tucked in the middle of Avon center. The pasta is great and is good portion. I like that they shake the cocktails and pour at the table.

Have not been to Amici's in quite a while. Everything we had was delicious and plentiful. Older crowd mostly enjoying traditional well prepared Italian-American dishes.

In the global, life altering plague that I'm sure everyone is tired of, Amici rose to the occasion. They began making family style take-out meals, and are an amazing value. For $35, you get bread, salad, and a pasta dish with easily five to six servings, if not more. Their offerings change weekly, so check their Facebook page. The pasta is always delicious - the chicken parmigiana is beautifully coated and has a gooey layer of mozzarella on top. The regular menu is very good as well. I still remember a beautifully organized Cobb salad years later!

I've been to Amici's 3 times in the past 6 months. Everytime, we enjoy ourselves! The restaurant is beautiful. Traditional and cozy Italian place. Great give. The service is always good as well, nothing to complain about. The menu offers classic Italian dishes as well as a few some unique entrees. I've had the stuffed mushrooms and shrimp appetizer...both flavorful. I've ordered the Eggplant parm entree every time I've gone because it's that good! Eggplant parm is my favorite food and I'm picky about it- I actually am usually disappointed in most restaurants but Amici's knows how to do it! They actually evenly layer the eggplant, cheese and sauce. My mother has gotten the Veal Marsala and Chicken Christina and enjoyed both very much. Only complaint is the mashed potatoes that her dish came with looked like they were scooped with an ice cream scooper- therefore they looked unappetizing and cheap. I love that each entree comes with soup or salad to start, as well as bread. I love this place and there's no good traditional Italian restaurants in the area, so if you're looking for Italian- go here!!

Chicken Parm from their Dinner Table menu -four servings of chicken, pasta, salad and bread for a paltry $28. Delivered to your vehicle

So many restaurants have responded to staying upright during the coronavirus pandemic by stepping up their take-out game. Amici's has a spectacular deal and we took advantage of it on Thursday night. They call it a Dinner Table Menu, offered between March 19-21, and here were the choices. For a paltry $28 you can get a meal for four or five people consisting of a choice of a half pan of Chicken Parm, Chicken Cristina, Chicken Milanese (all with pasta), stuffed shells, plus Italian bread, and a half tray of salad. Our Chicken Parm was a helluva value. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/amici-italian-grill-avon-2?select=D1Ed7PRxaa_QK7zLo-mQUQ The two of us had it for dinner twice, so that's four dinners at $7 each. The ziti and sauce were great, but I was really impressed by how good the chicken cutlets were -meaty and juicy and pretty much perfect. The big tray of salad made for four generous salad bowls, everything was super fresh. I ordered and paid over the phone and opted for curbside pickup -here's how that worked. Dinner was cooked to order, and I was given a 30-minute waiting time. I drove over, called them from my car, and a gent wearing rubber gloves brought out a shopping bag of food that he handed to me through the driver's window. It couldn't have been easier. The food and value were wonderful. Nice job Amici's.

I started with a cocktail topped with a mini charcuterie board, which was a fun touch. We ordered the tuna tartare to start. The portion was generous and the tuna tasted very fresh, especially with the mashed avocado on top. For my entree, I had the frutti di mare. The flavors were great, but I wish the sauce were a bit thicker since it settled at the bottom and left the noodles a little bare. Service was excellent and we never felt rushed. My fiancé ordered the espresso martini with cold foam to finish. I am not usually a fan of espresso martinis, but this one was impressive. The cold foam and chocolate-covered espresso beans stood out. Looking forward to coming back in the summer to try the patio.

We started our dinner with the garlic Parmesan Tuscan wings - so crispy, so flavorful - and the truffle fries - crispy outside and pillow inside, just enough truffle flavor. For the main course, I got the Valentine special - sirloin and lobster. The most I can say about it is that it was filling. The sirloin was cooked well, but the meat was just tough. The lobster was also on the small side and stuck to the shell ( a good portion of the meat was missed because I wasn't allowed to eat like a savage). For $42, I could have made a better choice. My wife got the pork chops - now that was a good pick! The glaze was sweet, but not too sweet, and she even enjoyed the squash (which she rarely eats). For dessert, I got the tiramisu, which was again okay, nothing spectacular. My wife enjoyed the valentine dessert (a red velvet cake with cream cheese and covered in chocolate). The biggest flaw I saw is their seating arrangement - we felt very claustrophobic. For parties of two, they have a huge series of benches with a tiny table and chairs on the other side. We were initially seated between two couples (one of which was the end), and they moved their table so my tiny wife can squeeze in between to sit on the bench. I'm so glad they left soon after and we asked to take their seat. I regret some of my choices, and should have tempered my expectations, mistaking this place as a fancy restaurant. It was a decent experience, perhaps shaded by a busy Friday date night.

Gorgeous Friday evening with a nice breeze we had a opportunity to eat dinner outside at DaCapo…read more One in our party had the DaCapo salad with steak. The salad was a tremendous mixture of sliced tomatoes, vegetables and cheeses with shaved sirloin that was cooked perfectly medium rare. This was an excellent dish. Another had the spaghetti carbonara, which had a beautiful flavor of smokey guanciale and creamy al dente pasta. Superb with lots of parmigiana reggiano. Lastly, we had the eggplant. You can see from the picture that this was a gigantic dish that could've easily fed three people! Our service was right on point and outstanding. Because my daughter indicated she had been into Greece recently, brought us over a slice of a fantastic three-layer cake with a chocolate ganache. If you have no other reason than to come to DaCapo, try the dessert. It's absolutely worth a trip. The portions are exuberant and we brought about half of our food home. Four of us ate for about $130 and I left a $30 tip. This was just excellent and we will be back.

"But when I see you darlin' It's like we both are fallin' in…read morelove again It'll be just like startin' over" (John Lennon) After a very successful 34-year run at 70 East Main Street in Avon, Max A Mia has started over by moving about two miles west into the Avon Marketplace in a spot previously occupied by Bertucci's. The makeover is stunning and Max A Mia's design team really deserves a lot of credit for putting together such a gorgeous design. The walled bar that used to be closed in is now open and very inviting, and the open dining room furniture and décor look modern and glitzy. Their dinner menu speaks with an Italian accent, so you'll see Minestrone, Arancini, Meatballs, Pasta, Parmigiana, Lasagne, and Pizzas among the fish, chicken, and steak choices. Arianna was our server, and she was a gem. With an engaging personality off the charts, she wowed us with her effortless knowledge of the menu, explaining every minute detail of the cocktail and meal specials we asked about. She started us off with a complimentary basket of assorted breads served with a baked head of garlic and a ramekin of tomato sugo. Three of us had cocktails, a Rio Lowball ($13) with cacacha, sauvignon blanc syrup, and lime quarters, a Paper Plane ($13) with bourbon, aperol, amaro, and lemon, and one of their non-alcohol choices -a Pink & Bubbly ($10). Max a Mia takes non-alcoholic drinks seriously, they were quite a few NA cocktails on the menu PLUS four NA wines ($10-$14/glass) for a Sparkling Reisling, a Riesling, a Sauvignon Blanc, and a Cabernet Sauvignon-Merlot. I definitely wasn't in an NA mood, so the Paper Plane was my choice after a discussion with Arianna. She gave me great advice, because it was strong, smooth, and excellent. Our meal choices were from every corner of Max a Mia's menu - two Lobster Fra Diavlos (@ $36), a Brooklyn Chicken Parmigiana ($31), an Eggplant Lasagna ($27), and a Truffle Mushroom Pizza ($19). I was one of the Lobster Fra Diavlos, and I have to tell ya, it was one of the best meals I've had all year. It was one of the evening's specials, and Arianna described it in detail - a half pound of lobster meat, an in-depth explanation of Buccatini pasta, and reassurance that I was OK with a "spicy" sauce, which I enthusiastically am. The lobster was perfect, the pasta was great, and yes... that sauce sure was spicy. We ended the evening with a visit to the dessert menu with a Tiramisu ($9), a Bocci Ball ($9 with bonus points for presentation because it came out sliced), an Affogato, and a big dish of vanilla gelato ($7). I had the Affogato (Espresso, vanilla gelato, house made biscotti) and it was a perfect mix of flavors and textures. Our pre-Thanksgiving family meal was fantastic, and we enjoyed every detail of the food, service, atmosphere, and the manager's visit who came over to chat with us. Five stars for sure. Historical Note So, what became of the old Max A Mia space? Today it's occupied by Dogology pet supplies and New England Puppy Rescue.

Same with the artichoke, pepper and tomato (hard to see). We had to supplement the toppings with extra tomatoes and garlic. For what we got, it would better to just make our own at home.
