I have lived in this area for about 12 years and have never been to Amicas until last week and I cannot believe I have been missing out on this pizza for this long! It was incredible! I love how the crust is not greasy and its nice and thin. Superb. And the beer is pretty amazing either! I would recommend this place to everyone! But, be sure to get there before you are really hungry (if this place is your dinner choice) because they are busy and you'll end up waiting a little while. read more

This is a great place. Both the beer and the food were excellent. It was busy on December 30th, 2013. Our wait was about 15 minutes. The atmosphere was unique and interesting. I would definitely return to Amicas!! Mahalo nui loa!! read more

Micro brews are amazing! The pizza is the perfect portion and flavor. And to top it off the cannoli makes the meal.

I had the lunch sandwich special, the amazing Cuban sandwich with side salad. Should of taken a picture but I could not stop eating it!! Highly recommended! Always reliable and great food at Amicas, well worth any cost. read more

The panini's and the salads were great. The spaghetti would have been better if it wasn't topped in so much cheese. Would go again.

My recent visit to Amicas was to order To Go. I sat at the bar and ordered a Fresco y Seco while I was waiting for my pizzas. I definitely recommend this beer and their pizza. The three pizzas I ordered were delicious and did very well on my way back home. The staff made the environment friendly and inviting. read more

Great beer, pizza and most importantly (seems less and less these days), great staff! Love this place! Along with tasty pizza Amica has a number of GABF medal winning beers! First class joint!! read more

Amicas is a must stop every time we are in Salida. The food is always good and the service is even better. They are always busy and consistent with quality and service. read more

Serious feast happened here. Caprese salad, personal pizza (honestly too hiking dazed to remember which) and tiramisu. Every part of the above exceeded expectations and I'm pretty sure the tiramisu brought tears to my eyes. God speed Amica's! Don't stop doing what you're doing! read more

Yeah, sure, the pizza is good, but the cashier and bartender were jerks. They act as if they are doing the world a favor by showing up to work. They couldn't care less about how they treat the customer. The second time i went there, i ended up walking out and went to Moonlight pizza just down the street. We were welcomed and given good service and my buddies said the calzones were better. read more

A bit pricey but good pizza and nice, friendly staff. Just don't order the chili beer! All other beers are ok.

Great pizza and salads. We ate their twice with our kids on our recent vacation. Would recommend.

The food is very good. On weekends you will wait.... Small space, so not to many people get served at one time. The hostess didn't explain their wait, order, seat system. Just kept giving us "you're next" for 30 minutes. There were some locals that got in front of 20 people waiting because they knew the system. Pretty lame. read more

Really tasty food. I recommend the calzone if you're really hungry. Though the pizzas and sandwiches are good, too. This is our usual place to stop in Salida. Service is generally very good. One star off because it can tend to get very busy in a weekend night, and is also more expensive than I would expect. read more

Great fun place to eat and hangout. The set up is a bit unusual. Order and pay when you enter the restaurant, then you are seated and a server brings your food and drinks. We each had a pizza, pepperoni and a Classico. Each was cooked golden and was delicious. read more

Outstanding! Good environment, good people great food. Split a large sales and a pizza for 2 people. Could have easily fed 3. Has my vote for best Pizza and Beer in Salida. Busy, but wait is well managed by flexible hands on owner / manager. Family or adult friendly. read more

I would be cautious what to expect when this place gets busy - they have a single wood-fired oven serving a rather large restaurant. After waiting 45 mins for our order (we were told 45 mins, so no problem there), we opened it at home 2 mins later to find the crust under-cooked, and not the toppings we had ordered. They just get overwhelmed at weekend dinner time. read more

absolutely AWESOME! Ceasar salad ROCKS...........pizza with sausage, carmelized onions and green chillies is to die for! (sorry I cant spell!) Enjoy AND you can take kiddos in here too.........give them dough to shape and then they cook it for them! A must if in Salida! read more

The food here is always very good, and it's consistent too. They don't skimp on portions, and the prices are about right. I'm gluten-free and the gluten-free crust is better than most. However, the gluten-free pizzas don't come in the "take-and-bake" option, and also only come in the lunch size. So if you are planning a gluten-free take out order for dinner, realize it's the small pie. One major problem I have with Amica's, and why I am only giving it 3 stars, is their surly wait staff. I mean these people out do themselves in the rudeness department. I understand this place gets crazy busy, but the people behind the counters and the waiters and waitresses need some lessons in being nice to customers. Rude restaurant workers seems to be some sort of Salida tradition. I live here and eat out regularly, so it's not just the occasional bad experience. However, if you can overlook the rudness factor, try the food...you'll come back. I recommend the Antipasta Salad. Don't remove this, nothing's changed. read more

My husband & I took a drive in the spring--this where the car ended up! And we couldnt have been more pleased! *only bad spot was the lady in front of us that didnt know "exactly" what she wanted to order, so she stood there hmm'n & haa'n*.I think we got the best spot in the house, right next to the woodstove & the wall was so warm! We ended up leaning our backs against it--sipping our beer & sharing fabulous pizza! Met the brewer & complitmented his beers..even took home a growler. It was definately a great visit!..walk downtown..soooo neat! Must make a trip back! (and soon) read more

Medioaker pizza at best, luke warm service / staff. Beer was good but nothing extraordinary. The pepper oil was their most notable offering. read more

Service was very poor. No one ever told us you order at the counter. We waited an hour and twenty minutes to get a table to then stand awkwardly in the very packed front area trying to figure out what we wanted. The food was good for the rest of my group, my gluten free pizza was really not good at all. The waitress never came back to our table to refill drinks. read more

Not sure what the rave is all about at this place. The toppings are decent but the crust really needs some work unless you like a mushy soft crust. Can't understand why it isn't crispy when they have a wood fired oven?! Beer was great but would not have pizza again. read more

Great pizza, great toppings, great salad, great staff, great atmosphere. We will return any time we are near Salida!

Good thin crust pizza and good beer. You have to order at the bar and then you get a number for your table which puts it in that category.

Wonderful staff, excellent food and genuine friendly environment. We were traveling from Denver to Pagosa and knew that we needed to find food fast before our options were gone. As a vegan the task of finding food on the road is always a challenge! We called ahead to inquire as to any vegan options they had available and they were able to provide a few. They offered to make me a pizza without cheese or a calzone. They had a few delicious salads as well. I went with a calzone. It was very large and delicious. The artichokes were some of the best I've had in a long time. They also offered to stay open a little later than they normally do so that we could make it to Salida and eat! What a great experience. I highly recommend this place. Everyone that was with me truly enjoyed their food as well. The wine selection is interesting too. Definitely five stars. The art on the walls was adorable the restrooms were comfortable. The bar was enjoyable. read more

Good food, good service, love the bread & chili oil, calzones and salads! Pizzas are always reliable

dang good beer love the michealangelo and the tiramisu is the best ive had. This place is buisy cause its just damn good

We too have been regulars for as long as it's been open...couldn't wait to get there when we blew into town. Something has changed in the last few years. Unhappy, unhappy employees who will barely look or speak to you. You order and pay before you sit down and they do provide you the opportunity to tip at that time. We choose not to tip ahead of time and boy were we glad we didn't this last time around. At 5:00 p.m. on a Friday night yes Friday night, we ordered two flights and they delivered one ...stated they didn't have any flight glasses clean to serve us the other flight...it would be a few minutes. 15 minutes later, we asked for our money back and cancelled the flight and got basically a shrug. Server basically threw down the water glasses, didn't fill them, no greeting, no interaction. Had to flag her down for anything we needed. All it seems anymore is that you're $$$ to them and that's it. . We will never, ever set foot in the place again. read more

The BEST pizza anywhere...and the beer, IPA, outstanding. Be prepared to wait during peak hours, this place is hopping! Be sure to try the desserts, the Tiramisu is just amazing! We drive two hours just to dine here, you will NOT be disappointed! read more

The slowest service ever. Bartenders don't care that you're here. They avoid eye contact and never check in. We waited like 40 min for a pizza when the restaurant was empty. read more

The best pizza in the area by far, and terrific salads, too. They offer gluten-free pizza crust, plus a "dough ball" for your little ones to occupy them while you wait for your food (and they will bake it for you, too...preserving little art creations). Notable favorites: the Michaelangelo pizza with sausage, green chilis, goat cheese and caramelized onions, and their Caesar salad (drizzle on their house made 'hot' chili oil). Soups are very creative and yummy. Good all around. Casual vibe; ordering process is just like so many places in Australia or Nz where you order at a counter, get a number for your table, and then seat yourself. I don't mind the process at all, but I agree with other reviewers that it probably diminishes tips for the servers - who do stay on top of grinding fresh pepper and parmesan as your food is served, plus drink refills. If you are eating in Buena Vista/Salida and want casual, Amica's is the spot!! read more

A friend of mine who knows all things Colorado recommended Amicas to us and she was spot on! We were starving on our way back from a road trip to New Mexico, and were so happy this place was convenient stopping point. My husband and I split a full size pizza (alghero) and I got the spinach salad. Both were very tasty. The pizza was crispy and delicious and I loved the innovative combo of the roasted chicken, portobello mushrooms, artichoke hearts, gorgonzola, balsamic marinara, mozzarella, and rosemary! I think the balsamic marinara was my favorite - it gave the pie a really unique flavor! The beer was also pretty fair - nothing to write home about, but decent. There was also an excellent band playing in a little corner of the restaurant. If I could change one thing, I'd say turn the volume down a bit on the speakers - it was a little rowdy for our taste for such a small place. All in all though, great place, friendly staff, delicious food!! read more

Always exceptional food and service! Our fav in Salida! Everyone works together to help make every customer have a great experience!

Only ok. Price was good. Very salty. The place to be for the over 60 crowd. Coffee was good.

I love the spicy olive oil. Order anything you want and pour the oil over it. Incredible.

Thank you YELP for steering us to this place! This place was great! It is in a historic old building that is bigger than it looks from the outside. The service, the atmosphere, and food were wonderful. I ate the Michaelangelo pizza and LOVED it! I shared it and a really yummy salad with my husband. It was all very fresh and delicious. The kids got spaghetti and the sauce must have been homemade. My kids got the homemade root beer, but didn't like it. It had a slight black licorice flavor. I highly reccommend! read more

Excellent food and service. This establishment is unique in many ways, one being you order when entering and then the table service begins. The gentleman at the cash register was very nice, smiling and all around helpful guy. He was a great example of how customer service should be. We got the two 11 year olds that were with us and after they decided they didn't like the house dressing (we adults found it delicious) our server brought two new salads out with ranch and boxed up the ones they didn't like, for free, for us to eat later. No question. Also, to entertain the kids, they will give them free pizza dough to play with and even 11 year olds loved it. The pizza is fantastic and the house bottled Hot Oil for the bread is addicting (I try and keep the bread intake at a minimum but was even soaking my pizza crusts in the oil). Yes, you will pay for your experience $$$ and it can get unbearably crowded quickly, but if you have the chance, check out our favorite non breakfast place in Salida. Visited 9-3-16 for lunch. read more

Tasty pizza last time here was 10 years still very good. New location from 10 yrs ago

Great food and service for the money. We plan to return during our next trip to Salida.
