I have been a customer for several years, and unfortunately, I've experienced repeated problems with your service. My gas deliveries are often delayed, and it has been very difficult to get timely assistance from your customer service team. Most recently, my gas was delivered to the wrong address. Despite this being your mistake, I am still being asked to pay for that delivery. This is unacceptable and very frustrating after years of loyalty as a customer. Here's why: 1) The attempted to charge me for a tank which I don't have 2) I don't use their service, so they want to charge over $400 to pick up their tank 3) I inquired about purchasing the tank on my property...they want $15o0! Customer Experience with Amerigas is the worst! First the driver goes to the wrong location and says the gate is locked and doesn't call. Then they were supposed to come again 2 days later so I took off of worked, talked to the driver and they never showed up and driver would no longer take my call. They then told me they would come today and I called to confirm but they had no plans to come and told me it would be another week to 10days. Now they want to charge me $300 to expedite! This is just crazy. Customer service just goes in circles and acts like they care but they have no clue, I can't get a supervisor on the phone, it is just crazy, 3-1/2 hours in and I am having to pay the $300. I will definately be canceling my account with them after this. I would do it now but my wife would be pissed! Oh, at the end the said "we value you as a customer". These people are like robots it is so irritating that they would say the things they say when they are basically screwing me! read more

DO NOT GET SERVICE WITH AMERIGAS!!! I have been a customer for over 20 years. I have repeatedly run out of gas. Even when snowing. They new I was low for weeks. They didn't even call or anything. Tried to get an emergency deliver with guaranteed 24 hour delivery. now telling me longer. When gas runs out, you have to be there when then fill to leak check. Taken multiple days off work. They just don't care. Short of drivers or not, they could at least give you a call when they think you are low. read more

Amerigas is the worst gas company I have ever worked with. Upon clearly smelling gas and having multiple individuals at the property state they smell gas we called them and they dispatched someone to the property. They stated they did not smell gas and tested the pipe to see if there was a leak and said there was no leak. We got a third party to test the line and they said there was a clear leak and they could 1000% smell gas on the property and it was unsafe to be near the tank. We called Amerigas again and they said they would dispatch someone again free of charge and then they ended up charging me anyways and drew funds from my account WITHOUT MY AUTHORIZATION OR KNOWLEDGE. AMERIGAS CONSTANTLY LIES AND THEN TRYS TO TAKE YOUR MONEY WITHOUT YOUR CONSENT. There hold times are constantly upwards of an hour and are outsourced to other countries that don't speak very good English nor understand what you are saying or can explain anything well. Just terrible. I called for a pilot light (which they use to do) and instead turned my request into a gas leak. I never said that. Now I am fighting them for a fraudulent bill for them to check for a gas leak. Of course there wasn't one, but they are insisting I pay this made up bill. I am in the middle of this dispute now and will take it all the way. Looking for an honest company with the customer as top priority, Amerigas isn't it. read more

If I could rate them a "0" I would. My family and I have a 500 gal service tank to our home which was under the "remote monitoring" option that AmeriGas offers. The online tracking of the tank usage through the Americas website showed 61% capacity left, but I did a random check at the tank and it was actually 8%, or over a 50% discrepency. Keep in mind we hadn't filled the tank in over 7 months so this wasn't a rapid increase in propane usage that caused the issue. I notified them of the issue and told them I also has 2 kids under 5 which are being affected by the fact that all heat and hot water turned off at our house as a result, this is all happening while the outside temp is 35-45 degrees. All I got in response was "we'll look into it" or "we'll get back to you", or was put on hold for over 20 minutes. We're now on day 3 and no gas, no clear update, and no idea as to when it will come. False advertising aside on the "remote monitoring" issue, these people don't have a clue or run a good operation. Look for other options. read more

The regulator on my propane tank is not working properly. I have no heat. I made a call to get service. All calls are directed to a call center in the Philippines. The soonest they can come out is 5 days from now. So I have no heat in my house for 5 days! Unacceptable! read more

Wish could give a zero rating to this company. My late husband and I have been Amerigas customers at this address for at least 20 years. Amerigas missed a delivery at least a month ago. I completely ran out of propane almost a week ago. Delivery happened after three days . Delivery person filled my leased tank and, after checking tank pressure not holding, locked up my tank, assuring me that a tech would be out in the morning. Well...no tech. I called and was told I had no tech appointment because the account was in my late husband's name and they would not talk to me! The story goes on for days, including the scanning and emailing my husband's death certificate multiple times. Finally got my name on the account and was given an "emergency" appointment. That was Thursday...my emergency app is scheduled for this following Monday! This morning, the temp was 31 degrees. I'm 73 years old and have had no heat, hot water, stove, etc. for a week. This has become a hardship situation, ad I'm not sure the problem will be rectified on Monday. This is like a bad dream that just keeps on happening. RUN DON'T WALK FROM THIS COMPANY! The absolute Worst. Hand written on the top of agreement: "$200.00 deposit required" This would of been a metered account. The meeter was already attached to the property when I purchased the home. I called corporate, they do not require a deposit on a metered account. This is something the local office decided. I do not just hand over $200.00 to a company to make them feel better... This is the single worst propane service in the Bay Area. We are supposedly on a schedule yet they allowed us, after 10 years, to run out of gas on Christmas, missing their scheduled delivery. Now in February it has happened again even after 5 telephone calls, 5 promised delivery times and now we are empty and we have no recourse. I have been an Amerigas customer for 7 years with 3 separate addresses on Bethel Island. I have watched the pricing grow to a point where they are no longer in the ballpark of every other propane company. They also have a 100 gallon minimum which at the end of the season is too high. As the President of the Bethel Island Chamber of Commerce, I will no longer recommend Amerigas to new island residents. In addition I will ask that they pick up their tank. Being a long time customer no longer seems to matter. The local manager is Mark Solins who does not return phone calls or e mails. Amerigas is a subsidiary of UGI Corp. The President and CEO or UGI Corp is John L. Walsh should you wish to contact him. I have written him a letter detailing lack of customer service by the local team. read more

If I could rate them a big fat zero I would. This is the worst service I have ever received from any business ever. I was cussed out by someone in a foreign language and they forgot to put me on hold so, I got to hear about them complaining about me for 20 minutes of being on hold and didn't even do anything to fix the issue. They let me run out of propane while it was only 20 degrees out and then charged me for an emergency fill and a charge for a leak inspection, and then Locked my tank out while I was out of town, but sent me a notification that my tank had been filled! The only reason I found out was because the field agent called my realtor to let me know! Then I called today just to get a copy of my billing statement and the lady had no idea what I was talking about. She put me on hold for 10 minutes and then asked me call back in 7 days. It has been well over 3 weeks since we paid the bill.....they used to be an excellent company to go through when they actually had local offices and nice workers, now they have sourced out all of their phone lines to India and they are completely useless. They also told me that they have no way of contacting their field agents, even in the event of an emergency, they just schedule their fill times to their tablets and that's their only way to communicate, this business will not last long with this kind of service. read more

AmeriGas claims customer service is a priority for them - but I think not. I just waited four hours for their service person to show-up and when I called to inquire about his status I was told by employee, Donna, that she had cancelled the service call yesterday! This was not only news to me but apparently the person who answered my phone call this morning had no idea it had been cancelled either because she not only answered my questions about the service repair, she offered to contact the service person to get a better time estimate on his visit (he was not available). She then promised to try and get back to me with an update. Here's the problem - Yesterday, Donna was looking for a confirmation for the appointment and when she didn't get one-claims the phone number was "bad"(it's not)-she cancelled. OK, I understand but when I asked how come her co-worker was completely unaware of the cancellation I was told more than twice that "everybody is running around here like chickens with their heads cut off" and that she didn't have the time to relay or review cancellations. Hello, Hello It would have been helpful to know, I just waited four hours for nothing. If there was a simple acknowledgement that they inconvenienced me, perhaps an apology however insincere, I would have felt a little better about hustling to rearrange my schedule for them. Instead I am feeling really pissed-off. AmeriGas needs to educate their people on customer service. Donna not only did not acknowledge her error was a great inconvenience, she was laying it down like it was my fault and with a preachy attitude to boot. Enough! This is just a new Yelp listing under their current branding, but the same business reviewed, by myself and others, under 'Kamps Propane' at the same location. They have a solid 1-star under that listing. Here's my review again: They recently switched to Amerigas branding, but are the same operation. We had a good experience until they switched their corporate affiliate and then things went rapidly downhill. We came close to running out of propane, despite being routed customers and having called multiple times to remind them while there was still plenty of time to fill it. They simply weren't answering the phone, or returning messages anymore. We finally had to turn the heat way down, with two small children in the house, while I scrambled to find propane. I finally got them to respond and fill the tank, just before I signed with another propane company. I was told they were pulling their act together and it wouldn't happen anymore. Then I started hearing about other people in my area running/almost running out of propane, including my neighbor who also got his tank filled at the very last minute about two weeks after my incident. That was it for me, a neighbor and I switched to a more reliable company- and I heard many others were/are doing the same. To give credit where credit is due, they came out and picked up their tank two weeks after being notified. That is actually pretty quick as propane companies go. They also promptly issued a refund check for the balance due on my account. Our driver was also a really great guy and we were sorry to see him go; just couldn't risk no heat with the kids. read more

Amerigas took over for Kamps , and basically stole 175 gallons of propane from us when they wouldn't give us a credit back after we moved out of our residence. When we moved in we had to pay Kamps upfront for gas left by previous tenant, now Amerigas wont honor Kamps agreement. BUYER BEWARE!!!! Very shady business practices! read more
