I went here to make keys and was disappointed when I came home and it looked obviously different from my original one. The apartments I needed these keys for were in SF, so a long way to just try it out and find they wouldn't have worked! The young guy who made it, did not seem very confident and must have been new at making keys. Another guy kept going in and out to help him, which didn't make me feel any more confident he knew how to make them! Right before coming here, I even told my husband I rather drive all the way to the Brentwood ACE bc I know they do a good job especially with keys! But my husband said oh they are all the same, don't worry about it! Yeah right! This store had younger employees compared to the Brentwood ACE which has older seemingly more experienced long time employees it seems, who know what they are doing. So yes, I rather drive all the way there. Also this Antioch ACE seems very packed and crowded with things and has like a dusty, dirty feeling when you touch things and kind of dark and old type of place. The Brentwood ACE feels spacious (much bigger), cleaner and brighter. Both of these ACEs have the yummy pies I hear so much about on the neighborhood app NextDoor. I think they must come only around the holidays, as I have not noticed them before. read more

This location is in disarray. I walked into this location after seeing the gardening items I want to purchase listed as being in stock here on the Ace Hardware app. I asked where I could find the particular products I want to purchase and three different employees told me they have "no idea" where they are. It seems that items are being moved because shelves are being rearranged, but how does an entire line of products disappear? Can we find another staff member or a store manager who does know where the products are? I hope no customer gets hurt in the half assembled aisles. Perhaps safety barricades should be up. Hopefully, Brentwood's location will net a better shopping experience. read more

We went in to have keys made. There are a special type of key and were told to come back when an employee that could use this one machine was working. So we came back and were treated horribly by Selena. She refused to make the keys and told that no one at that store would make the keys. She lied. The other clerk was also clueless and claim he didn't recall speaking to me. I will never set foot in this place again. read more

I have been meaning to write this review for a while!! A few months back I purchased a new table and chairs from the Antioch Ace! I called before coming and was told the table and chairs I was looking at online was just set up the day before and was on display. I go to check it out and loved it! However, I knew it wouldn't fit in our truck (the bed is too small) so I asked if it could be disassembled (which I felt horrible about because it took them about 4 hours to set up) Well the next day I called to check on it and a gentlemen named Trey (or Tray.. I'm not sure how to spell his name) answered and said he was going to be delivering it to us! So, later that day he shows up with everything and was extremely nice! He helped us get it to the back yard and was very cautious about not scratching anything. I tried to tip him for his time and effort to deliver it, but he wouldn't take it from us and said he was happy to deliver it. We are very appreciative of Trey and look forward to doing business at this Ace again in the future. THANK YOU! read more

After leaving a previous store who didn't give good service, I found myself driving past "Ace Hardware" here in Antioch. I have never been in this store so I turned around and decided to pay them a visit and to see what they have that I may need. As soon as I got out my car I was greeted by Alecia the manager and was directed into the store very nicely. I then met Juan who asked what I needed I told him and he was eager to help and he did. I then walked around the store and was greeted with hello's and friendly jesters from most of the staff, very impressive. I found my way to the cashier who was Blake, and he also was very nice and encouraged me to sign-up for a rewards card, so I did, as he greeted me we talked about the store and about other items I might be interested in. I was very appreciative of his concern for what I might need. As the transaction ended I was encouraged to come back to shop and if I needed any help with the merchandise to not be afraid to ask them for help. As we gave each other fair well greetings, I could only say what an experience from this store's staff. I will be coming back to do more shopping. I was super impressed that I called to ask a simple question but the lady who answered took the time to go and check if a certain part was in stock. It was a little $10 piece but she treated it as it was super Important and it actually was for me. The store is super clean and the prices are fair. Terrible experience I went in with an item lost my reciept asked cashier pat if she could help me she said if it's under your rewards I can if not.no so she said looked and I didnt have such a purchase I said ok I went on to find a sprinkler head and she proceeds to tell the other cashier to watch me like I was gonna steal or something so then she walked away and I asked the other cashier could they look it up for me Andrew was the young man's name he found my purchase and took care of the issue I am thankful but I feel like I racially profiled sad to say I really like ace and shop there all the time hope this dosent happen again thanks again Andrew good customer service I will not be in Pat's line again.....and will let all my neighbors know of my visit read more

I have lived in Antioch for 7 years. I regularly shop at the Ace on Sunset but I e never had great service. I just go because it's close. Thursday October 10th that all changed because I met Kristen the Assistant Manager. I was completely exhausted and told her that and requested extra help. Kristen gathered everything for me and Friday where I needed more help I called and just asked for her!! Kristen is an amazing asset to your store. She continues to help while answering many questions from employees on her headset. She was friendly and knowledgeable. I hope Kristen becomes a store manager soon because she has what it takes! Elsa helped my son in-law yesterday. I'm having to match more paint. Elsa is really helpful. I am disabled but Never use my disability for extra help but I am just physically unable to do this without the extra help so I really appreciate it. Also I don't know the young mans name at the register but I told him I was taking a drink to my car while I wait and gave him the one I'm taking and will pay for with paint. He said no problem! I've been to this location at least a dozen times and have always had good experiences. I bought two keys for my Ford pickup that have the remote incorporated into the key from Amazon for $22. Yesterday I stroll in to see about getting them cut. I was floored when the person at the key cutting desk said he could do it for $180 per key. That is not a typo. He quoted me $180 and mentioned something about cutting out the middle man. So I laughed and left the store. I just walked out of the Brentwood Ace and got them both cut for $20 total. Both employees at the key desk were super nice and efficient. Needless to say, I won't be returning to the Antioch Ace. read more

This store use to be my go to store for specialty items, but no more. Right before, and ever since it changed ownership, the condition of their stock has been pathetic. Especially on unique and hard to find items. There will be a spot for them but no product in that spot. Some of the new employees they have working there have no knowledge about hardware or customer service. I recently went in to have a propane tank filled. Their policy is for the customer to take the tank over to the side gate where an employee will meet you, take your tank and then fill it. The n you, the customer have to go back into the store and wait for the tank to be filled and pay for the fill. Then go back to the side gate to pick up your tank. That's not customer service. When you bring a tank in to be filled, an employee should come to the front door, get your tank, and bring it back when it's finished. I walk with a cane and can't always get around well. When I brought my tank in to be filled I put it in a car and took it to the side gate. I was met by an older employee who, when seeing that I had my tank in a cart said, "do you expect me to pick that up out of that cart"? My response was, " it's your job"! I have dealt with this employee before and he has little or no knowledge about hardware or customer service. It sucks that I can no longer count on this store and have to go to Oakley or Pittsburg. I'm not sure if it's the pandemic but this Ace has horrible customer service. I ordered a screen for my window and dropped of the old one so they could make the right size, first off it took 3 weeks to get it bc the person was "on vacation" when I picked up my screen the person that gave me the screen wasn't too friendly, it was like I was asking for something she doesn't get paid to do. 2nd I get home and screen was way too snug I had to get someone to install it from the outside and they didn't even add the little tabs to pull the screen into place in the right spot. My dad put my screen in and states it all started falling apart when he tried to get it in from the outside, thankfully he could put it back together. These screens were made so cheap and were very expensive. First and last time I go to ace for this type of issue. read more

I like this store. I visit other big hardware stores but this one has a local feel to it in a good way. They have some quality finds you can't get at other stores. This trip I started with a return, no issues there. The customer service was all round good from team members. There was a young man at the register who had a noticeably remarkable demeanor when greeting and helping everyone. Not sure why it stood out but it did. Maybe he seemed happy to be there and talk to the people he helped and seemed to have genuine interactions. It's sad but I guess that in Covid times, I realize I haven't seen that in a while so his efforts stood out to me. This review is only for the Ace Hardware on Sunset in Antioch. I've been here five times. I've only had decent service once. I wish I had got that gentleman's name. The other times, horrible. The employees acted as if I was bothering them. I was at checkout and noticed a Whirly Pop popcorn maker on a shelf by the register. I asked the cashier how much since there wasn't a price on it and he stated he didn't know. Another time I needed a bulb for a florescent fixture. The guy looked at the one I brought in and said they probably didn't have one because they only keep a couple in stock. I asked if he could order one. You would have thought I asked him to do burpies. I guess I'll take the drive to Ace in Oakley if I want excellent customer service. Step your customer service game up Ace on Sunset. If I want horrible customer service I'll go to Home Depot or Lowe's. read more
