I go to these folks to refill CO2 tanks. The last time I brought one in the staff stopped me and pointed out that the tank still had significant charge in it, cluing me in to a problem with my setup that wasn't letting the tank empty as much as it should. They could have just taken my money and given me a new tank, but they went out of their way to help me fix a problem I didn't know I had. read more

This place is great for fresh Co2 for your kegerator! They refill propane tanks too! I went to Airgas in Concord, they wanted $122 and would have taken 2 days. I found this place, a 5lb. tank exchange on the spot for well under $50! Cheers! The only drawback was that I had to kiss my brand new tank goodbye, he gave me a few moments alone together before the swap! . It was an educational experience and well as bargin! read more

Very knowledgeable, fair pricing, eager to help solve your problems. Easy to find with good parking! read more

When I went to this place, the gentleman who helped me was very kind and knowledgeable. When I purchased the oxygen tank from him, he helped me to check things by making sure that it turned on properly. When he noticed that the oxygen was not flowing through the tube that it was supposed to he was immediately able to diagnose the situation and even gave me a replacement part for free.. this was very kind of him to do. read more

1st time calling this business for my Balloon Helium needs. I researched you can bring empty helium tanks and replace with filled ones which I was interested in. The guy I spoke to was very hostile that I didn't know my exact tank size which was my mistake. But as a 1st time helium tank purchaser, I'd expect better customer service as 1st time customers are not always knowledgeable on what they want. Guy was so rude for it being very early in the morning. I just wanted a helium tank for my balloon business as I live nearby but I'm willing to drive away for better customer service. I do not recommend this business to 1st timers who are looking for guidance on helium pricing and tank sizing. read more

US alloys saved me so much Scott was the man. The guy helped me get exactly what I needed and was super informative. He said that he always carries the product that you need whether it's CO2, nitrogen and CO2 mixture was what I got for my home kegerator set up. I most certainly will be coming back here as much as possible because nitrogen/CO2 mixture is really hard to find in the Bay Area. I highly recommend them. read more

I do not recommend this business if your partner owns a balloon business. My girlfriend purchased helium tanks in the past but the this was her first professional grade helium tank purchase she wanted to invest in. Upon answering the phone the employee was passive aggressive, mentioning "it's very helpful you don't know your size". That was the first red flag which we knew we would receive bad customer service. As first time customers who do not know much about gasses and professional grade tanks, I'd highly recommended going elsewhere to a business that has more patience for first time customers. The guy could have pointed us in the right direction instead of looking for flaws within verbiage. This business is not friendly for first timers and possibly people who need direction in gassed and tanks. read more

Scott is very knowledgeable and always very helpful. Keeps my kegerator humming along nicely!!

Great spot to trade in your empty bbq/heater/etc propane tanks. Quick, easy, economical and they actually fill the tanks full, as opposed to Amerigas, BlueRhino, etc. These places are convenient but are a robbery as they don't inform you that they fill the tanks with 25% less fuel. read more

I'm a simple retail customer who comes in for CO2 for our kegerator. Staff is always super helpful and gets you back out the door in minutes. They prefer cash if you have it but will accept credit cards. read more

This place and the owner are great. We get gas for our restaurant beer lines here. Friendly and helpful- I go out of my way to do business here. read more

Great People. Reasonable prices. Quality work! No appt needed. Just walked in the front door.

This is the best small business I have ever delt with!! Scott Day, the owner, goes by the title "Man Of Action!", and he that! Very helpful and friendly. His wife rins the office and his Dachshund provides security and protection when not begging for treats, which are on the counter. Great guy to work with. Just check out his card! read more

Glad I found this place a couple years ago. I've been using them for all my welding gas needs even though I have to drive in from San Francisco for pick up. I run a shop and it is definitely worth getting gas from a local supplier. We tried the other big guys and their prices and policies were insane. I will continue to support US alloys and get our gases from here. Great service and quick transaction to get our tanks filled every time ! read more

Great experience! They completely saved the day being open on a Saturday. We'll for sure be back, thanks for taking care of us!

As the General Manager of Mike Hess Brewing, I have to applaud Luis from US Alloys. Reliable, hard-working, and he really cares about the business. We had a CO2 leak and my business was on the fringe of closing down, when Luis made multiple urgent trips to our venue outside of his own work agenda. Many thanks to US Alloys and Luis for always being great to us! read more

I had a fantastic experience with this amazing small business. I am a local small business owner and I needed to buy helium with no idea where to start. Scott was so kind and answered my questions with so much patience. We came in and got one helium tank to purchase and one helium tank to rent and the customer service was above anything I could ask. I plan on going here for helium exclusively. Thanks so much Scott! read more

Fantastic experience with these guys. Great customer service, great product. Impressive array of gases. These guys provide medical oxygen also, so if you have had a hard time getting filled at medical supply, you can save yourself a lot of time and hassle coming here. read more

What a find! Thank you, Yelp. I searched propane and found great reviews for US Alloys. The last time I needed to fill a tank was a few years ago, and my last place is now paved over as a parking lot. Scott Day is the owner of the business and a great guy to chat with. The propane tank exchange was easy. The reviews mentioned Soda Stream refill bottles and I asked Scott about the large bottles of carbon dioxide that usually aren't available, but Scott had one and at great price. The business card mentioned helium and balloons were available. What could be better? I'm coming back. read more

I just had my first visit to U S Alloys to get propane for 3 of my BBQ tanks. This was SO easy! I traded my tanks in and within minutes I got 3 filled tanks - all in excellent shape. Scott also noticed that one of my tanks was more than half full, so rather than charge me for another tank, he gave it back to me to fill up at another time. This is an honest, responsive and efficient company and I recommend them highly. read more

Super nice guy. He was very knowledgeable and helped me find exactly what I needed. He even stayed open a little late to make sure I was taken care of. I would definitely recommend US Alloys! read more

This is the *only* place to go to for all your welding and gas needs. Scott is extremely knowledge, kind and humble. The environment of the store is the textbook American family business - you feel relaxed when you are in there. This is the type of place where the owners are excited about what they do as well as what you do - and have no problems sharing their wisdom if you ask. There is a reason why they have been around for so long! I highly recommend them, and have them on my phone. read more

Great place to get propane for home BBQ use. The owners were very friendly and welcoming.

I reached out to inquire about purchasing a large CO2 tank to refill sodastream CO2 cannisters. Scott took the time walk me through the cost of the CO2 tank and refills, and referred me to a supplier for the additional kit required. After discussing my usage CO2, he pointed out that in general there was always a residual 20% of the CO2 tank would remain in the tank and after running some quick numbers it made a lot more sense to buy used sodastream cannisters and exchange them at a local store. Scott is an example of an honest business person who will always do the best for his customers. He spend 30m on the phone which me and concluded that the best thing was for me not to purchase a $250 CO2 tank from him and future refills. The least I could do is leave him a positive review and if i do need anything he sells in the future, I will be sure to purchase only from him. read more

Just went there to pick up some 75/25. Was really easy. I was welcomed by the store dog. They have a small stock of consumables and hoods in their showroom. They have been in that location for as long as I can remember. Good to support local businesses when you can. read more

Scott is the man! I always enjoy stopping by to exchange my 5lb Co2 tank. I appreciate the Saturday hours and close proximity to the freeway. The price is lower than other establishments in the area and they take all forms of payment. Very helpful when on the go. Thanks again Scott!!! read more

Very great spot. Scott went above and beyond to help me out with a very oddball request.

Scott is a unique individual in the "Industrial Business" of welding supplies. He has always provided sage advice and solutions for challenges I have presented him. As I'm a novice and home repair/ maintenance welder. When ever I have questions or needs. Scott has taken his time to "listen" to the task at hand, then suggested products and procedures available Taking into consideration to economics and my skill sets. He has always been friendly, not talking down like other welding supply houses, due to my "non-professional" welding status. Although I don't have need for a massive amounts of supplies, Scott will have my patronage for supplies from BBQ propane, arc/mig gasses electrodes, gauges / expendable items, and advice. I heartily recommend US Alloys, and Scott Day. Right off freeway, in Walnut Creek. read more

I had a problem with a customized CO2 set-up I have for carbonated drinks. I visited Scott at U.S. Alloys knowing that my problem was probably outside of their bandwidth but I was hoping they could help. Scott gave me valuable information and even recommended me to someone who could help me. He made my situation a lot easier since there are few people that know how to solve my problem. As a result I strongly recommend U.S. Alloys for your CO2 and propane needs read more

One of the lowest prices for Argon tank swaps in the Bay Area that I've found. This is invaluable to hobbyist welders like myself. The March 2022 price was $120 for a 125cf Ar tank swap. It's certainly not going to remain the same between shortages and inflation. But lacking an online price chart a datapoint like this may be helpful to others. read more

Scott was fantastic. Helped me get my 20lb CO2 tank ready for my Soda Stream and had some good advice. I drove from Pleasanton because my local AirGas store sucks. Scott cares about his customers and will do you right. Cannot recommend US Alloys more highly. read more

I went here to swap my empty Co2 tank so I can refill my Sodastream from home. If you love carbonated water, this is the way to go. I thought I was in the know since I have filled these hundreds of times, but Scott Day was exceptionally helpful and gave me some tips on how to fill the sodastream cylinders all the way up by bleeding the excess air. This is always a challenge. I had wished I had known this earlier. Youtube and google didn't provide any useful info in relation to this when I searched years ago. Also gave me some advice on how best to use all the air in the tank since a lot of gas sits at the bottom while the valves are on top. So happy to have someone on this side of the tunnel. read more
