He came to our house for a free estimate (Home depot charges for that). From the inception of our project, he had great ideas, remained hands on throughout, and was very patient when I wanted to make small changes along the way. The quality of the cabinets are top notch and you can't beat their pricing. I shopped around at Home depot/Lowes and private competitors, nobody could match Cabinet Sense and the hand holding/guidance for the project was worth every penny. The extra added bonus was the cabinet installer, Moises. Steve recommended him and he did everything from the demo, to the electric, to the plumbing to the installation of the cabinets. I am over the moon happy with Cabinet Sense and highly recommend them.

Their attention to detail is truly exceptional--nothing was overlooked, and every decision felt thoughtful and well-executed. Our project was fairly complex, including the removal of a load-bearing and shear wall, which could have been stressful. But Danielle coordinated everything seamlessly. Every contractor she brought in was highly skilled, professional, and clearly at the top of their game. We were initially told the project would take about three months, and impressively, they delivered right on schedule. That kind of reliability is rare and greatly appreciated. The end result is a beautiful, functional space that we genuinely love and enjoy every single day. Special shoutout to Mindy, Taylor, Chris, Hector, Chris (carpenter) and Ryan. We would absolutely recommend them to anyone considering a remodel.

Adam, the owner, brings more than 20 years of hands-on construction experience to the company. His involvement and knowledge gave me confidence throughout the project. Having Adam there to look at things firsthand and make decisions on the spot was something I really appreciated. 5 stars so far, and I hope to come back and update this review when our ADU is complete!…read more This review reflects our experience through the signing of our ADU contract. Construction has not started yet, so I cannot speak to the building process or the finished product. But everything we have experienced so far has been so positive that I felt Preferred Home Builders truly deserves five stars at this stage. After an extremely frustrating experience with a different contractor, I feel compelled to share what we learned for anyone embarking on the ADU journey: do not fall for charlatans, empty promises, lousy sketches, or requests for too much money upfront. Take your time, ask questions, and look for a professional who is willing to invest the time and expertise needed to understand your project before asking you to commit. That is exactly what we found in Nir at Preferred Home Builders. From our very first meeting, Nir has been professional, punctual, courteous, knowledgeable, and incredibly patient. Before we signed a contract, and before he even knew whether he would get our business, he invested more than 10 hours of in person meetings with us, in addition to extensive email communication. That level of commitment made a huge impression on us. Our ADU site presents some challenges because of the hilly terrain. Nir took the time to understand those challenges, assess them carefully, and come back to us with thoughtful options rather than making unrealistic promises or glossing over potential complications. Another thing that really impressed us was the level of detail that went into the budgeting process. We completed an extensive questionnaire covering everything from major decisions such as windows and doors to seemingly tiny details, such as how many sconces we wanted by the entrance and whether they should be on the left or right. The result was a remarkably detailed budget that leaves very little, if anything, to be figured out later. After our previous experience, the difference has been night and day. So, at this stage of the process, I cannot recommend Preferred Home Builders highly enough. Nir is clearly at the top of his game, and we are very happy to be working with him. I look forward to coming back to update this review once the ADU is completed, hopefully with another five stars and plenty of pictures to share!

We hired this team for a major structural renovation--adding a loft in our high-ceiling living…read moreroom, building a wet bar underneath it, and replacing our kitchen's back door and window with a beautiful bifold door. (Note: The furniture bar cabinets and library were added later on and were not part of this contractor's project). From start to finish, the entire team was extremely professional, dedicated, and highly skilled. On the very first day we met, Nir helped design a 3D view of the project that perfectly captured exactly what we had envisioned. Throughout the build, we had a weekly walkthrough with Nir to check if we had any questions or concerns, which kept communication incredibly clear. Elba was also an excellent project coordinator who was always available to answer our questions and keep everything on track daily. The construction crew themselves were clearly very experienced and knowledgeable; they followed our approved plans meticulously and were happy to accommodate extra requests along the way. You can truly gauge the quality of their work by the fact that every single city inspector visit passed on the first try--nothing ever had to be rescheduled or redone because everything was built perfectly to plan. Additionally, all of the finishes--from the drywalling to the trim work and paint--were done with high-quality materials and top-tier craftsmanship. Overall, it was a great experience, and we highly recommend them!
