I had 3 other estimates before finding Showcase, and even know they are pricey, there were no hidden costs, as I could tell there would be with other companies. Scott West came out and was very thorough at helping me find all the materials and do the design. His integrity and expertise made it go smoothly. We had the ceiling and 2 walls removed, and added an outer wall, it was a huge undertaking. Once all the decisions were made, it was handed over to Steve Love, the project manager, who was amazing! Steve is a perfectionist, and involved in even the tiniest details. He gave me everything I wanted and more. They kept the project clean, and kept me informed at every move. They showed up everyday as promised. We did go over the completion date, but that's because I changed my mind several times, and Steve accommodated me at every level. He walks around with a small flashlight inspecting every inch of the project daily, making sure it's going correctly. Their subcontractors were all professional and highly trained. I highly recommend Showcase Kitchen and Bath, I wouldn't try to save money and just find hidden costs and headaches, these are the guys to go to!

We paid $3,000 for a design, of which 50% was supposed to be used as a credit if we went with them…read more We had sticker shock when we saw their estimate so we got 3 other bids through referrals from friends. The cabinets were 50% more and construction costs were 75% more than other bids for the same work! We obviously chose to go elsewhere but they refused to release the designs, so we basically burned $3,000 and a lot of time only to learn that they were unnecessarily expensive. When I asked them for the designs they became defensive and refused to provide them. During this process, we also ordered a bathroom vanity from them that was 50% more than what we could have purchased locally, but we liked the design and were already working with them so we proceeded. The vanity took a month longer than expected to arrive and was wrong, but at this point we couldn't wait any more because the project had been held up so much. The people we worked with were all nice but their pricing and policies are completely out of touch with the market today. I wish I could recommend them but there are so many better options.

I should have known that…read morethey were not trustworthy when they verbally made promises (such as the renovation would be complete by Thanksgiving) but then wrote a different date (end of December) into the contract. When I questioned why the contract said end of December, Joseph told me that the contract required adding an additional month. When I received the schedule of work, that too said the project would be completed by the end of December. I was not living yet in the property and renting, so the additional month added another $2,300 onto the project that I wasn't expecting. I asked for them not to charge me for additional fabrication and installation of the stone which they refused but they did end up finishing by the end of November so that I could get my furniture out of the rental so that I would not be charged for another month. This was not the only reason I began not to trust them any longer. I ordered the stone through the family of a friend, and the owner of the store asked for the name, address and phone number of the fabricator. I asked Catalina for this information. She gave me the correct address because the stone needed to be delivered there; however, she lied about the name of the fabricator. As you can see in the screenshot, she said the name was Israel when it's in fact Olympus. She supplied her own phone number as the number of the fabricator. Anytime I see lying, I wonder the motive, and I start to question everything. In addition, on the contract, the square footage was greater than the entire area of my condo. Again, I had questioned this when I signed the contract and Catalina assured me that I would only be charge for work done. I later had to argue with Joseph to get him to reduce the amount he was charging to the actual square footage which I estimated by taking the number of boxes of wood and multiplying by the square footage per box. Joseph told me that they used every single piece of wood in every box, but, as you can see in the attached photo, there was a box still sealed that had not been used. If I had not questioned this, it would have been $700 more. When I began to question the integrity of Joseph and Catalina, I did more research. The amount of glue needed for the wood floor is 30-35 square feet per gallon. I confirmed this with another flooring installer who works for the friend from whom I purchased the wood floor. In the attached, you will see that I was charged for 8 bucket of glue (5 gallons in each bucket) at $207 each. That is literally twice the recommended amount for the 650 square feet of wood that they installed. Also, I provided 4 buckets of the same glue for the padding that went underneath the floor. At $207 each bucket, I was overcharged more than $800. This led me to question the linear square feet of baseboard which I just got done measuring. I was charge for 240 square feet; however, the linear square footage of what I measured was 160 square feet, quite a difference and an additional charge of almost $500. There was an additional issue with the electrical outlet for the refrigerator. The appliance store was not able to install the refrigerator, because the cord would not reach to the outlet where they had placed it. I ended up having to pay for an additional visit from the appliance store ($75). I asked Joseph if he would reimburse me for this since he was responsible for installing the outlet in the correct location. He never responded to me. I definitely feel that Joseph and Catalina took advantage of me and my lack of knowledge and experience with renovation work. I wasn't able to catch all of the overcharges before paying for them, and it added to the already exorbitant cost of the renovation. I wish I had gone with a different contractor.

Ted Bayouth is excellent as a general contractor because his word is his bond, and he keeps his promises. The second most crucial factor is the skill level/kindness/cleanliness of the subcontractors, and Ted Bayouth hires only the best. Victor on tile, Jose on floors, Bruce on plumbing, and Oscar on painting ... all top notch guys. Remodeling will take longer than expected ... especially when specialty doors and windows and faucets need to be ordered. But trust/great subs make up for the unwanted delays. We've heard so many horror stories of contractors stealing deposits, floors buckling due to no vapor barrier, etc ... but we have had no such concerns with the Bayouth Construction team.

It was a small job; refinishing the kitchen/family room floors, installing new baseboards and a new electrical outlet, some demo of the fireplace mantle, and paint. After he gave me the quote, I called two of his references. Never heard back from one but the other was getting ready to hire him again for another job. The reference was really good; I asked about things like delays (there were none), fixing problems that came up (they were fixed), overall satisfaction with the job (very satisfied). I hired Decotal. They started a few days later; it seemed like I barely had time to move the furniture out of the room before they were there. They did demo first, removing the old mantle and baseboards, and then did the floors (this took several days but they were there each day). Ophir was there almost every day and continually inspecting the work. There were a few minor issues which were fixed as soon as I pointed them out. Tomas, the painter, was great! When they were done, there was some dust but not a lot. I did take all of the drawers out of the kitchen and emptied the cupboards and pantry. Not everything went back... I took the opportunity to do some spring cleaning. I really love the look of the new room; it's very updated now.

We called New Leaf and he was there the very next day. (Same day was not needed because of the restoration demolition). He let us know he has his team on standby for when we got the all clear that all the water was dry in the frame. Having checked out a few Companies, we settled on using A1 for our Kitchen renovation. Olivier gave…read moreus confidence that the renovation could be completed to our satisfaction, on time and close to budget. Olivier listened to our ideas, added his own design suggestions & came up with a design that transformed our Kitchen. We also had a bespoke cabinet made for a niche in our Family room that made good use of space, & again transformed that area. As we had to complete the demo & instal within an 8 week time frame, we went for US made cabinets, which were made & installed on time & of good quality, eg solid wood & dovetail joints. We also used A1 for flooring for the complete house, again this work was coordinated & carried out at the same time as the Kitchen renovation. The trades that A1 use are professional, friendly, turn up when planned & always leave the work area clean & tidy. Our daughter, having seen the results of our renovation is now discussing her own planned kitchen renovation with Olivier. Our next project is to renovate 2 bathrooms where we will again use Olivier & his team (including obviously Beanz) again!

It's a small space, but it was important to us to make it work better for our family by adding a larger tub, moving the toilet to accommodate it, and updating all the materials ...vanity, flooring, tile, mirror, etc and while keeping everything cohesive with our design style. We had high expectations going in because family members had worked with Pini and his team on both a kitchen and a bathroom project and raved about their experience. From the start, Pini was straightforward, transparent, and his pricing was exactly what we were hoping for! Especially after getting quotes from other companies that were outrageously more than double. The entire project took around four weeks (a bit longer than expected, but understandable with an older home and a very detail-oriented wife)! Through it all, Pini and his crew were extremely responsive, addressing any issues right away, even on weekends. Pini personally stopped by every day to check progress and offered valuable guidance from his years of experience. He even went shopping with us for materials, which made the process so much smoother. We can't say enough great things about his crew either!
