Used these guys for an event at Red Bird restaurant/event space. Although the posted rate was $14, when we picked up our car the guy demanded $24. This is illegal and a scam. Called LAPD (which regulates valets through the Board of Police Commissioners) and they confirmed what is posted in the regulations: "It shall be a violation of the Board Rules for any Valet Parking Operator or his agents to charge or collect any fees at a rate in excess of the rate posted at the time the vehicle was accepted." And this: "In the event that fees vary based on time of day or other reasons, the claim check shall clearly state the fees to be paid." Valet guys tried to claim they charge $24 people not eating at the restaurant, but this rate is not posted, is not on the claim check, and is thus not permitted. So beware: these guys may try and charge you anything they want without telling you ahead of time or posting the rate as required by law. The good news is that LAPD is opening an investigation! read more

Unfortunately I did not have a great experience. I hired them this weekend for my daughters 1st birthday. We had a large event and expected a lot of guests so we wanted to have valet service as a convenience to our guests so they didn't have to hassle with parking. Our event started at 12 so valet was supposed to arrive slightly early for setup so they were prepared once it hit 12. Well it's 11:45 and still no attendants so I send an email and ask for an ETA. They tell me their attendants caught some traffic and should arrive 10 minutes after 12. My first big issue here was that there was no communication on their end to let me know beforehand that they were expecting to arrive 10 minutes late. 12:25 rolls around and I still have no attendants. I send another follow up email and I get no answer. 12:30 still nothing and once again no answer to my email. On top of that they were not answering our calls. At this point several guests have arrived and we have cars scattered everywhere which is what i specifically wanted to avoid. At 12:38 they send an email back claiming they left at 10:00am and got a lot of traffic. I'm not sure exactly what time they arrived but having them arrive late added an extra level of unnecessary stress and worrying to an already stressful day. Their lack of communication was the biggest downfall for me. If they weren't late and lacked communication it probably would have been a great experience read more

Los Angeles Red Bird Location: At least 1 valet working for American Valet Parking did not know how to drive a manual. Came out to smell a burnt clutch in my car. I'm the lucky guy that got to find out. Imagine other unhappy people have experienced similar stories with this worker. When I told he and the main attendant, they both laughed it off. I attended an event last May and left my car with this valet. When I got it back however, the plastic cover underneath was ripped off and the front bumper was scratched. From examining it underneath, it looked like someone had driven over the concrete in front of a parking space or possibly some sharp rocks. The second I started driving I heard the ripping occur underneath but had to keep driving and since I was on a hill with cars behind meaning I was forced to head down the hill to examine the damage i would discover and drive back up to confront the valets. When I did they asked who had handed off the car to me and I told them it was a girl so their response was to come back a few minutes later with a completely different girl and said she was the ONLY one working that night. Straight up LIED and said it was my fault from past damages and and that I ripped the cover off coming down the hill. I called one of the representatives over from the organization of the event and she told me she had actually seen some of the drivers speeding and and messing around recklessly in the back parking area. This areas was unpaved with gravel and any cars going in there should have nevertheless been going slowly. I had just bought this car not even a week before the event and my insurance was not yet handled so this did not end up working in my favor. Unfortunately, there was no cameras on the premises and their insurance could not do anything as it was my word against theirs, so I am left with around $300 in damages. Very unprofessional and this company should own up to their actions instead of trying to cover it up. I really hope they do not continues this incautious behavior. Had my aunt 50th birthday extravaganza this past Saturday and I must say this company had to be hands down the most professional I've ever had the pleasure of doing business with. I have to admit I was a bit skeptical because the the pricing was so affordable compared to other companies .
