I just got back from another trip to Vegas via Megabus and just wanted to update a few things: The bus was early again, which was great since we left on time. The driver was nice, he was the same one from my first Megabus experience to San Jose! Anyways, I thought he'd stop at Barstow like the last driver but this was not the case. Not a big deal but good to note for future trips. Bus driver may or may not stop so grab some coffee or snacks ahead of time! This time I noticed there was a sign right as we exited the bus in Vegas that had instructions as to what to do to take the buses to the strip. The bus we took ($6 per person) dropped us off in front of Paris Hotel and we were staying at Flamingo so we had to walk a bit with our luggage. Personally I think I'll try to flag down a cab in the future but my friends didn't seem to mind doing that. On the way back, the driver stopped at Barstow but on the other side so we had an option of eating at Subway or grabbing snacks at the gas station. Good trip both ways except the girl sitting behind us was on the way back was on her phone a lot and talked about personal things we didn't need/want to hear very loudly! This is the worst shit ever!! I would NOT recommend!! Go with FlixBus!! They literally will show you a pic of a double decker and it's a regular ass bus no outlets and ports. They are ALWAYS late as hell, like an hour and forty-five minutes!! Drivers do not speak clear enough English to keep seat that were reserved during booking reserved! Literally pack you in a bus standing room only. The bus WiFi is nonexistent!! Ohh and if you pay extra to reserve a seat guess what it will be taken and bus driver has no control over what happens. They farm their buses out to a third party. So not every bus you ride will be a double decker blue bus. It could be a one level basic bus with no outlets. Also, dont rely on it arriving on time for the pickup. Im glad that Flixbus has started operating these same routes because Megabus is gradually getting worse and worse while charging more and more. As a sidenote this type of service and quality of bus is not normal. Buses in Mexico and all over Europe are damn near luxury motor coaches compared to these poor options. read more

Worst service ever. Im in the process of having my bank get my money back due to their horrible customer service. I'll try to keep it short. I had about a 1am reservation to take the bus from Riverside to Vegas. As I waiting an hour prior to pick up at the designated pick up I had time to chat with the security guard and he was telling me stories about how terrible these bus drivers were. To bad i had to experience it first hand. 1am rolls around and so does the bus. I see it enter on the opposite end of the yard, and from a distance, I see what seems to be a drop off and pick, and 2min later i see the bus roll right by the DESIGNATE PICKUP, yes there is a sign for passengers to wait under. The security guard sees this and is quick to go above and beyond and jump on the phone with their dispatch and explain what happened. After some time on the phone the dispatch would not send the bus back. Now 130am i have to pay UBER 20$ to get home, wake at 5am to call back east to complain, 20min with customer service cant do anything but sell me another ticket and tells me to email management. Apparently their records do show that the bus didnt stop but for only one min, and after emails with management they tell me it did stop for 5. I had a generic email basically saying I should get a response in a few day. So needing to be in Vegas that day and not having a few days to wait for the response I ended up driving to Vegas, therefore no need for the return ride on the bus. Managements emails, back and forth, just keep laying claim that I missed the bus that their records and the bus drive said they stopped. Even after informing them they stopped on the other end of the yard not at the proper pickup. A few emails back and forth and they would just refer to their cancellation policy and now they've stopped responding to my emails . Customer service is only in India and the people seemed to not care about my situation, it was more like talking to an automated voicemail then a human being... I came home for the holidays. My bus was scheduled to take me back to my federal job and federally controlled housing. During the government shut down I am homeless and jobless, so in the mean time I am staying with family. I called asking for a refund on my bus ticket or if I could bank the ticket to redeem whenever they decide to reopen the government. I rode from Vegas back to California with friends visiting me and decided to ride the bus back home.This review is for Megabus route from Riverside, Ca to Las Vegas, NV The Downtown Riverside Metrolink Station is where the bus leaves for Vegas (or you can also ride from Los Angeles to Vegas). You want to get there early as the bus tends to be busy and you may not be able to sit together in pairs if it's full up. It's a double decker and most of the seats are on the top. I traveled solo so I had no problem finding a empty seat. Just a note that you can bring one bag that can be checked in, one carry on that can slide under your seat. It was a bit uncomfortable sitting next to someone, but it wasn't bad enough I couldn't fall asleep for half the ride. For back and forth to LA/IE - Vegas this is a no brainer to choose this over Greyhound. First it is CHEAP. My last minute one way ticket was $22 and advance tickets can get as low as $1. Greyhound for the same drive was $56. On top of that, it is also FAST! Greyhound is 5-6 hours because of the several stops it makes and some trips have a meal break since the bus came from somewhere far and people need to eat. The estimated time for this direct ride was 4 hours and 15minutes.... we got there in 3 hours and 30 minutes. Less time on the bus for me is a HUGE plus. Some of the buses apparently take one bathroom break at Barstow, some don't. This time he drove non stop. If you really need to go to the bathroom badly, there are bathrooms in the back of the bus. I didn't use it so I don't know if it's gross or not. Or you can hold it until the station when you arrive. This stops at the RTC Bus South Strip Transfer Terminal. It's fairly close to the strip, but it is not anywhere you can walk. If you are a tourist, the best way to get to the strip is to get on the Strip and Downtown Express/ SDX. It does not stop at every casino, but probably every 3 so you may need to walk. Make sure to have change for the bus ticket ($6 2 hour pass or $8 24 pass). Or you can call a taxi from inside probably if you really want to be driven specifically to your destination. If you're getting picked up, go through to building to the other side and walk towards the street to where there's a round about pickup. I'm a fan indeed to have a alternative and cheap way to get back and forth to visit friends and family. read more

I've taken the megabus several times now, both from LA and Riverside to Las Vegas. It is a great alternative to driving and offers awesome prices. The bus departs in LA and makes a stop in Riverside then goes to Vegas. Living in Orange County, I prefer Riverside because of the distance, traffic, and free parking. However, if you're traveling with friends, I would recommend that you depart from Los Angeles because of the priority seating. The downsides to the Megabus are the same as any public transportation service; large crowds, people on their phones, etc. Items I would recommend in bringing are: - earphones - jacket/sweater - things tend to get cold when the ac turns on - biomask - especially for the sick season. read more

I took the Megabus from Riverside to Vegas for $16 reserved seats. I made sure to come 20 minutes before departure time. The bus came and the driver boarded people and their luggage quickly. The first half of the trip was non eventful. The bus was clean and people were quiet, kept to themselves, and kept phone conversations at a low level. We also made a pit stop in Barstow for 30 minutes. The second half of the trip sucked. Someone was snoring really loudly like a chainsaw. Also, as it got warmer, I started smelling someone's heavy BO - I suspect this person missed a couple days of showering. To get through that, I kept smelling the lotion on my hand. By the time we were a half an hour away from Vegas, I was thinking in my head, "Please get me off this bus...PLEASE GET ME OFF THIS BUS." The total trip took around five hours overall. It was nice to have a bit more money in my pocket for the trip. However, the cost of this trip was not just $16. It was $16 plus smelling someone's disgusting body odor for a couple hours. I had to take work out of state and booked Megabus to go back and forth for my weekends off. They farmed their busses out to 3rd parties both times I rode and I never actually even rode on the Megabus, just a regular ass bus with no outlets or WiFi. I fell asleep and my wallet fell out of my pocket and while they've confirmed that they found it, ive been trying to reach them for over an hour to figure out who has it and where I can go pick it up. Worse experience ever!!! If you can avoid this company then by all means do that. My son and I have been sitting on a bus that was supposed to leave Riverside at 2:10pm for a Las Vegas destination. It's now 5:18pm and we are just now leaving. The air doesn't work and it's hot! To make matters worse our bus driver is rude and has done nothing to communicate with us passengers. Took the bus to and from Vegas. Not for anyone over 350 lbs. Or if you are very tall. Reserved the front window seats going to Vegas. Expect to stop in Barstow. It is the scheduled stop for this rout. The bus was crowded going to Vegas. Coming home on a Thursday was not packed and the ride was 4 hours. If you sit on the upper deck keep in mind you will bounce a little more. I was not cold and was comfy enough to take a nap. The do have plugs to charge your electronics it is located by your feet on the upper deck not sure were on the lower deck. It was real nice not driving there we will be going again. Customer service is very poor. After purchasing three tickets, megabus moved the pick-up to a temporary location. As a result 28 passengers got on board at the temporary pick-up location and while 10 passengers waited for the bus to arrive at the usual location. You would think that megabus would have sent a text message to customers cell phones about the change. You would think that the bus driver would have been curious about missing a 10 of 38 passengers and looked around the block for customers standing at the usual megabus pick-up location. Nope. It took two calls to customer service to get tickets (at full price) on the next bus. Megabus would not provide three free replacement tickets. The new tickets clearly indicate pick-up at the temporary location. After several more calls to customer service, megabus agreed to provide the tickest for free. Free tickets are okay, but they don't take care of the extra Uber costs to go home and get back to the "bus stop." And instead of getting to NYC at 11:20 PM at night and being able to sleep in a bed, we will be boarding a bus at 11:00 PM. We will try to sleep on the bus until it arrives in NYC at 6:40 AM. I bet megabus customer service forgets to delete the charges for new tickets. Will probably find them on my credit card and have to make several calls to get the charges reversed. If I could give it a negative, I would.... I feel the need to share my experience on Megabus yesterday. I boarded a bus, that was over an hour late, in Las Vegas, Nevada headed to Riverside, California. When we boarded the bus, it was 113 degrees in Las Vegas, no mention of any equipment malfunction. When I sat down, I was advised that the AC would kick in once we started moving. So, having no reason to doubt them, I stayed seated and waited. We started moving toward the freeway and the air, which was warm, was barely coming out of one vent and not at all from the main vent. At this point, I asked the driver to increase the volume and coldness of the air; his response was, "there is no AC anywhere on this bus." People were already getting sick, I can only imagine how hot it was on the bus but it was ridiculous. I then phoned Megabus, the little chickie on the phone decided she should give me attitude, I advised her to think twice before she spoke as I was totally irritated and using every ounce of restraint I had within me to not take it out on her but all bets would be off if the attitude continued. I explained to her that people were getting sick and that they must immediately deploy a bus to meet us in Baker. She took my reservation info, my phone number and said they would call me back. I waited an hour, having heard from no one, I called again. They told me that they had called and I didn't answer. Because we were traveling in and out of cell service, I checked my phone log before I called them the second time, no missed calls, no messages! I had to give another report and start all over. We then drove through Baker, California, it was a balmy 117 degrees there, again, no clue how hot it was on the bus. When we arrived in Barstow, the driver pulled off and into Unocal 76 station with a Subway. Fortunately, the Unocal 76 staff took pity on us and provided cups of ice for us, nothing was done by Megabus. The driver told us he was going to "reset" the bus, that often times it would help. My big question here is if that was a possibility, why the heck wasn't it done in Las Vegas! Then we were told that it was slightly better but still not working. We could wait there for 4 1/2 hours for a new bus or we could ride the rest of the way to Riverside in 2 hours. The majority opted to go to Riverside just to get the heck away from Megabus. They did call me back in Barstow, the supervisor was so gracious offering me 50% off my next trip with megabus. I told her she better think again, I'll never ride on megabus again! At the suggestion of a friend, I tried to go on Facebook Live to share the experience but oddly the WiFi was down too, guess they've been this route before and were a step ahead of us! I had a migraine all afternoon and evening and have been suffering all day from the dehydration and misery of that trip, their offer isn't going to cut it for me! read more

The bus has broken down 2 out of the 3 times I have used it. The first time was for 6 hours and the second one was for a couple hours but still it was just ridiculous. The driver was so rude and disrespectful I reported him but i'm not sure they will do anything. Oh and they don't have wifi at all like they advertise. Each trip I asked the driver and they told me that that bus "didn't have it" or that it wasn't working. Don't take megabus it has been the worst experience of my life. I take MegaBus once or twice a week commuting between San Francisco and Sacramento. Cheap service, though due to pricing structure, no refunds, exchanges or transfers if you 'miss' your bus. Generally, the drivers are courteous and helpful. The loading staff is also generally helpful except for the occasional totally-unhelpful-person. This morning in SF: There's a MEGABUS BUS STOP sign where the queue begins. Simple. There are always some folks who can't figure out the queue ...and tbh I don't blame the staff for being kinda jaded and unhelpful to people who can't look up from their phone to figure out what's going on. Today, to begin with, staff moved the queue for the bus around "stand back there, stand over here" confusing some folks just as another megabus was arriving from LA and would be boarding for return shortly. The older ladies who always sit at the front and arrive 45min early to secure those spots were shuffled here and there... ok. So, now two buses are here one queue...I understand that could confuse people. Usually there's only one bus at a time, but whatever. The staff informed (or didn't, in my case) random passengers of what was going on in barely audible tones. So ok, I read the marquee on each bus just to be sure...though Im pretty sure I know which one I'm getting on. After the queue was scattered (idk why) and the door to the Sacramento bus was wide open some people started boarding themselves without a staff outside the entrance to bus. Usually someone checks your reservation number before you board and then let's you on. So I ask staff dude if this bus is boarding yet. He asks me where I'm going after I'd already told him Sacramento. "SACRAMENTO!" Says, "get on we're almost all boarded already!" Uh no, I've been standing in line for 45min watching shit unfold. Half the people are confusingly way off closer to other bus now. Deep breath. I get on bus. Well this bus driver "would check me in if I would just give him my reservation number!" YES, of course Sir! I said to myself. I gave it to him, and he gave me some condescending remark "gotta learn how to read people!" Lol, oOKAY. Then he proceeds to rip through EVERY PERSON that boards the bus with the same condescending stubborn tone: "is that a number or a letter? Can you read?!" He was totally uncooperative with folks who don't know the drill. People confused about the booking number (which contains numbers and letters) vs. the RESERVATION # received no help from him. He told them to go talk to the loading staff back outside to help figure out what he needed...staff then pointed him back to the driver because it's not their job!? Driver continues on his tirade, apparently hoping to keep some people from boarding the bus at all. Every staff member today saying, "NOT MY JOB SRRRY" THEN, guy whose friend bought his ticket not allowed to board because friend sent him the BOOKING # and not the RESERVATION #. Couldn't use his phone to call friend because service was shut off but could phone with WiFi. Been there. Shoulda woulda coulda got off bus for him to use my phone but was a minute from departure now. Lord. An argument erupted and quickly escalated, as driver accused the (rightfully livid) patron of "trying to get a free ride." This driver is projecting some dark ass energy at folks this morning smh. Anyway, this isn't representative of every ride. But today's experience bordered on CHAOS and led me to reactivate my damn yelp account so I can bitch to an echo chamber of other infuriated folks like myself. This is my first review on Yelp and I am going to use it to complain about Megabus. Everyone please read my experience and be alarmed. I have rode in Megabus many times, at least 3 round trips. Just a few days ago, I had the WORST experience ever. My boyfriend and I booked a trip from Riverside to Vegas and back with reserved seating. For the trip going, we arrived at the station 3 mins late. We called Megabus to confirm we actually missed the bus. A person from Megabus on the phone informed us that the bus was arriving 20 mins late. so we thought lucky! didn't miss it. Therefore, we wait at the station for 20 mins. However, 30 mins later still no sign, so we thought we'd call again. This time, another person from Megabus on the phone told us that the bus was actually ON TIME. Really?! They apparently "don't know" why there is confusion and didn't give us an apology either for tricking us to wait there wasting our time. We also weren't offered discount for rebooking 2 more tickets to Vegas which we did since there are no refunds for the returning trip. Up till this point, we understand that we were late at first and there might be confusion on phone. However, the trip coming back from Vegas was a disaster. We arrived at the bus terminal exactly at the time of departure, we were aware that even if we arrive at the time of departure we were considered late again. The bus was right there about to drive out, so we waved at the bus and we appreciate that the bus driver stopped for us. He warned us that the bus leaves on time and we should be on time. That's fine, since we are at fault, but I am uncomfortable for the following reasons: 1. For the previous trips that I experienced with Megabus, they were always late for at least half an hour. There was one trip I took, they arrived late at destination for 2 hours. I never complained and they NEVER apologized for the delay either. 2. Well unfortunately, the only time that I didn't arrive on time exactly is when they are on schedule. Fine, but the bus driver didn't have to scream at us," WE LEAVE ON TIME! ON TIME! I GOT NO MORE TIME TO WASTE!" We appreciate that you stopped but don't scream lies to my face! You were late ALL THE TIMES! Somehow I am late for once and you act like you've done us a huge favor and it is such a grace now?! Maybe I'm picky for feeling uncomfortable then. But what happens later was unacceptable: We proceed to find our reserved seating upstairs and we found a mid aged black guy with a little girl sitting on both of our seats. My boyfriend proceed politely to them that we reserved those seats. This is the reaction of that guy, " NAH, GET OFF MY FACE MAN! I AIN'T MOVING!" ?!EXCUSE ME?! There I try to press down my anger, and I thought being a well educated person I would explain again because they might not understand those seats are reserved. So after we showed him our ticket with the seating number on it I said, "Sorry to make you move sir, but these seats are reserved, and we payed extra for it, the other seats are regular seats which is shown on your ticket." He then said "NO, I AIN'T MOVING!" At that point, I already know that he is just being a thug and won't move, not because he doesn't understand. But my boyfriend, being an extra polite person, tried again and pointed out there are other empty seats that aren't reserved which they could move to. But the man start raising his voice to repeat to my boyfriend to "GET OFF HIS FACE" and also said, "WHY DON'T YOU MOVE THERE? I AIN'T MOVING!" WHY?! I will tell you why sir, it's because we paid for what you are sitting on that doesn't belong to you! WHAT A JOKE. This behavior is no different than robbing others. I don't know how you arrange your company Megabus, but shouldn't you have someone to handle situation like this?! Otherwise, what is the point of reserve seating?! This entire time, the bus driver did nothing but instead command to us, "Whatever is happening upstairs, we absolutely don't allow that kind of trouble on my bus! So quickly solve it and sit down!" ARE YOU FOR REAL?! Maybe I should say that to you one day when you get robbed! We then sit down at the first row of the bus since there is no point in arguing anymore if the guy is just a street thug. We also think the view was good there and didn't want to cause any trouble. However, My boyfriend and I were separated for the whole trip. We later on also saw that guy smoking in front of his little girl when we made the stop. What a human waste. He put his bag on his seat so we wouldn't take it back. But sorry sir, we wouldn't want to sit there anymore where your butt has touched, it disgusts me. Megabus should really organize themselves better work on customer services. We felt abused and nobody were helping us, 0/10 I would ride with them again. I give it a 3 stars. Don't even bother reserving seats if you aren't traveling in twos or have the front window seats. I reserved a seat but someone was in my paid spot. since I was traveling alone, I didn't want to make a huge deal of it. It was also 11 pm too. I'm a little pissed that I paid the extra $1 for nothing. By the way, someone was smoking weed before I got in, and after we stop for our short break, they smoked again!!!!!! From there it's $6 for a 2 hour bus pass which will take you to the Strip. Have EXACT CHANGE because machines do no give change. Buses leave regularly from the terminal every 15 minutes & passes can be purchased inside the terminal. (4) On the way back to the terminal, you can purchase passes on the Strip in front of the bus stops (sometimes you'll find an RTC attendant on the Strip outside of the bus stop to assist with questions). (5) Luggage - Passengers can bring one carry-on onboard and one luggage to check in. For my trip, checked-in luggage could not exceed 50 pounds and 62 inches. read more

The representative was of no help, knew absolutely nothing. I finally booked a return flight to lax. WORST experience EVER! I came from Hong Kong and traveling in U.S. right now, and I took megabus on August 1st, from Anaheim to San Francisco, and the BUS BURNED! It burned during the half of the trip and all of my baggage were also burned!! And we waited for 8 hours until the new bus come to pick up us. He stopped at Barstow for an inspection and specifically told us we will leave at 11:15 am and we didn't leave till 11:50am. 10 minute later he pulls over and during both times absolutely no explanation. 10:40 p.m. but from Riverside to Las Vegas I was notified at 8:00 p.m. my bus was changed to Windstar and my seat was being refunded. I called customer service like is there anything I can do to get a reserved seat as I have a torn rotator cuff so I need a window seat and I bring with me a wedge like bag to prop my arm up.. she said all I can tell you is get to the station early I'm like it's the last stop even if I get there early it wouldn't help. I want to speak to a supervisor she put me on hold and never came back.. by then it was like 8:30 literally holding and arguing so of course when I get to Windstar the driver gets off she has to use the restroom she opens the luggage compartment and rushes pass me and tells me to get on.. I get on and the few and I do mean like 3 available seats the people have there stuff in.. I ask to sit down and I'm told no I'm like WTF.. there is no seats so finally after I'm standing there looking stupid a guy from the back is like okay you can sit here.. it has to be a better way I really felt unsafe these people were rude and mean I mean at least the bus driver before she goes running to the bathroom can tell the people okay your only allowed one seat so if you have your items in the seat next to you move it so these last few passengers can easily sit down and we can get going. that bus driver didn't give a f*** it was horrible.. horrible.. horrible... read more

We decided to take Megabus from Las Vegas to Los Angeles as a cheaper alternative to flying or hiring a car and it ended up being a costly and uncomfortable ride. There were no super cheap $1 tickets as advertised but $30 a piece wasn't too bad. You could pay extra to reserve a seat, and I would highly suggest doing that as what we were given in "general seating" I could barely squeeze my legs into, let alone the bag that had to be stowed under the seat. The bus depot is near the airport so don't forget to add on the cost to get there from any hotel. The public bus would cost us $12 for the two of us, or the taxi was $16. Then there's the amount of time it cost us. A 3:15pm bus was supposed to get us to LA at 8:30pm, but we were offered no explanation as to why we were left waiting 90 minutes for the bus. We departed at 5:45pm and we are just leaving the half way rest stop at 8pm :( While we were waiting, without explaination, chairs or shelter, we decided to sit and lay on the concrete when we were promptly told off by security. A loooong uncomfortable trip. Well worth waiting for a good deal on flights and paying less than $80 or splitting a drive with friends. 1 star for wifi and power adapters on boards, 1 star for clean and modern. read more

Faster bus ride to Las Vegas. I slept on the bus when I wake up we are in Las Vegas already.

For the most part this is a BUS ride, so keep that in mind. The seats are a little hard/firm and small, but the ride overall was a good trip. I suggest to not sit in the very front during the day on the way back to Los Angeles area, because the sun will fry your a** for sure! I sat on the top, felt no motion sickness, didn't rock too much either. I would ride again for a last minute, don't want to drive myself trip. read more

I have the worst driver ever!!! Can't drive in the lane constantly driving on the bumps on the road and has no patience for people at all.

Used on 12/16-18 from Riverside to Vegas & back for the $1 promo each way. Wonderful and fast service. I clocked the driving time at 3 hours and 45 minutes. Felt safe and bus was clean. Rode on the 2nd floor of the double-decker bus. The only stop was in Barstow and if I had to recommend anything to the company is to give a time limit to the passengers how long we will be at the stop like 15 minutes & announce it to everybody on board. The trip back, the driver was late but we still got back in the same amount of time. Will definitely ride again & already recommended to friends and family. Good job Megabus! read more

DO NOT TAKE THIS BUS ANYWHERE! Although this bus may be a little cheaper than others, it is not worth the hassle and horrible customer service. I booked my trip and then later found out I had to cancel it because of a family memeber in the hospital. So I called and emailed trying to cancel my trip but no one would help. Then they said they could do a refund only if I had documents proving that someone was in fact in the hospital. I proceeded to send them documents and they basically said they were not good enough and continued to deny me a refund. I asked for the number to their corporate office at least three times and no one gave it to me. I basically threw away $96. I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN AND I ADVISE ITHERS NOT TO EITHER. read more

I rode Megabus for the very FIRST time on Jan 20th at 1:30AM. By the time it arrived at the Riverside terminal on Vine St. there were already people inside the bus, majority of them were knocked out snoring. These people were first picked up from LA so they were fortunate enough to have choices on the seats. As I walked inside the bus, I headed up to the stairs hoping I get better sitting there since the first level is pretty much occupied already. Everyone on the second level were knocked out and occupying both seats, so I headed back to the first level. I ended up sitting right behind the table seats (reserved seatings) next to a woman who was also sleeping. To my luck, the person sitting across from me was an older person who smelled like pee. The scent was sooo strong that I had a second thought about taking the bus to Vegas considering it would be a 4-hour trip. I was gonna walk out and just drive my car which was parked at the station. The A/C was not on, other people were coughing sick, others were snoring, very few were talking having conversations. I was OVERLY DISGUSTED the entire time I was inside the bus (yes, the full 4 hours!!), I was covered in long pants, jacket (although it was hella HOT in there) covering my arms and neck. My mouth and nose buried inside my zipped up jacket because I did not want to smell the pee, or inhale the air in that bus since some people were coughing and sick. I thought to myself, if I'm gonna be smelling or breathing on something, it would be my own body odor, not anyone else is. I did not even want to touch anything. I did not want any part of my skin coming in contact with anything in that bus. When we stopped for a 15-minute break halfway to Vegas, I asked the driver's assistant if they could turn the A/C on and he said no. I told him it smells inside that bus, he told me no again and tried explaining why but because he had a thick European accent I could not understand what he was saying. I insisted in asking him to turn the A/C on, I told him it smelled like pee in there, yet again he said no and told me to just take my jacket off. I thought to myself, I'd rather sweat with my jacket on than be contaminated with the bacteria inside that bus. We arrived in Vegas at the time specified, at 5:35AM, only because there were no traffics at the time we traveled (mid-night). My friend who warned me about Megabus said they were late 2+ hours from the time they were supposed to be at their destination and the A/C was also not working, or it was not turned on. I should've listened to her about taking the Megabus, but I wanted to experience myself. Lesson learned!! Take note which bay (number) you are gonna get dropped off at because that is where you will be boarding if you purchase the round trip tickets, as it does not specify on the itinerary which bay you will need to be at to board the bus heading back to CA (Riverside/LA). My first time experience riding the Megabus was so traumatizing I swear I was gonna book one-way flight back to CA. But because it was a last minute trip (since I went back to CA the very next day), I couldn't not find any last minute flight that wasn't gonna break my bank account (everything was very pricey). No choice but to take the Megabus back to CA. To my surprise, I had a pleasant experience coming back to CA from Vegas. It was because I had choices on the seats since the bus came empty (no passengers were picked up yet from any other terminals, everyone boarded the bus in Vegas at that station). I was able to find the plug to charge my phone so it didn't die like it did the first time I rode the bus. I was able to occupy both seats since there were plenty of seats available that night (around 7:00pm on a weekday). We arrived at Riverside terminal exactly the time specified (again, no traffic those hours we traveled). My recommendation, arrive early because people line up to go inside the bus. Try and get the second level seating because the first level is where the disabled/handicapped passengers are. Oh, and bring LYSOL and sanitize the seats before you sit down. read more

Travel today 09/13/2016 from San Francisco to LA bad experience the driver was rude there was no toilet paper on the bus and the restroom smelled also he gave us only 20 minutes. How can you go order food and use a public bathroom in 20 minutes with long lines besides that he even left 4 people behind and didn't give a shit !! Never use Mega Bus!!! They have terrible costumer service and a "No Refund" policy even if you bought your ticket by mistake or if an emergancy comes up. I purchased tickets for almost $100 on a Monday for the following Thursday's departure. My family member was suddenly put in the hospital and I needed to be there all week. I called them to get a refund of my money despite their policy. The CS reps were throwing their policy at me like it was a United States Amendment. I asked to speak to the manager and was told that I could get a refund if I provide documentation of proof for my family member's hospital information. Now I can get a refund because of something this tragic?Why would they ask me to give them someone else's personal information like that? So, I was told to email their inquirie and attach the documents. When I emailed them, I was replied to by several staff memebers instead of one. I provided them with an attachment of the documented days my family member was in the hospital, and future appointments. THEY STILL DID NOT GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK. Now they have personal information and im out 100$ worth of money. This company is a huge waist of time and they contradict themselves. Please heed my warning, never use Mega Bus! read more
