I've lived in the neighborhood for over two years and noticed when this place opened up last year. I'm loyal to my wax lady on the Hill, but have been recently breaking out after the wax. My dermatologist recommended threading but I was nervous after hearing different stories on the pain factor. My eyebrows needed to be done today so I forced myself to stop by and try it, and I'm so glad I did! The woman who did my eyebrows, Shiristi (sp), is not the woman in the photos/reviews that everyone raves about, but she did an excellent job. She kept me calm and was very precise. I was shocked when I saw my eyebrows after. So clean, and relatively quick for how much grooming was done. I'll certainly be back!! read more

First time threading experience and it was amazing! Walked in and was taken right away, mid-day on a Saturday. Did not hurt at all and took no more than 3-5 minutes! It was so fast and my brows were shaped perfectly! I have plucked my eyebrows for the past 12 years after being burned with waxing, and now I will pluck no more! Visit 8x and 9th is free. Awful experience! The lady who did my eyebrows and chin was clearly scared to actually pull out any hair. She didn't do anything at all and when I tried explaining to her that she didn't do anything she said she was too busy and couldn't try again. Awful! I will never come back. read more

This place is one of the best discoveries I've ever made. I stumbled by this shop while on my way to Corepower Yoga and walked in (admittedly after checking its reviews on Yelp) because I desperately needed to get my eyebrows groomed. I've been here three times since (roughly once every 3-4 weeks) and consistently received great results. "Consistently" is the operative word here, probably because I've only ever seen Smithri and she seems to be the sole threader based on my experiences and other Yelpers. The lady is extremely thorough and ensures her clients are happy. You can expect each client to take about 10 minutes (at least for eyebrow threading). The wait can be awhile if there are others ahead of you but I love that she invests the time. Smithri's also great about just giving you what you want and not pushing down any of her other services. Plus, it's great being remembered when you return to a store for a second time. I love this place and won't go anywhere else for my eyebrows as long as I'm in Arlington! read more

I have been getting my eyebrows threaded here for about two years and I always leave happy (check out my profile picture!). The store is very nicely decorated and they treat you like a VIP, with free soda and Perrier water if you want while you wait (right around closing time tends to be busier but it's not too long of a wait since doing eyebrows is generally quick lol), and she puts aloe on my eyebrows and massages them after she threads them! It feels so good and is a great example of customer service and showing she cares for her customers' skin and comfort! Also, the owner is so nice and pleasant and remembers things about me that we have talked about. They also have a customer loyalty program. You get your eyebrows done there a certain number of times and then you get the next time free. I've already gotten a few free threadings! I highly recommend American Threading Plus! read more

My eyebrow appointment was with Ranjana. She didn't seem to know I was coming, despite having scheduled an appointment a few days prior. She had me take a seat and immediately began threading without asking any questions about the shape I wanted. My brows are pretty thin, so I'm always fearful of having too much taken off. While the shape was OK, she missed a few pretty obvious hairs and did not do any trimming until I asked. She seems very sweet, but I would not use her again. read more

I didn't catch the woman's name who threaded my eyebrows but whoever she is did an amazing job!!! I moved here a year ago and admittedly I have been too afraid to get my eyebrows threaded by someone new here because my lady back home always does such a good job. Safe to say I will be returning here more often!!! She really took her time with the thread and the scissors afterwards which I really appreciate (no one likes feeling rushed!) and she was also incredibly gentle. Afterwards she asked me to make sure I liked them before I got out of the chair and didn't rush me up and out to get the next customer seated. Be patient with your brows, expect her to sculpt them over time to complement your face. Avoid using different eyebrow therapists to get optimum results. The studio and work area are both delightful and clean. If you want to catch up on sports, a flat screen tv adorns the wall in the quaint waiting area. Love coming here! It's super close to my work and I know that I can always pop in at any moment and a chair will be open for me. it's very rare that I have to sit and wait but there is a fully stocked fridge with all the bevs in the waiting room which is very nice. Super clean salon, the girls who work here are very nice and they definitely pay close attention to what YOU want and if you are not sure or if it's your first time getting threaded, they have a cool framed picture of all the trendy brow shapes to help you get exactly what you are looking for. read more
