I've mostly had good experiences here, but today I came in to get my eyebrows threaded and the person on duty had me sit in one of the chairs and told me to lean back. Well, I was leaning back as much as possible, but the chair back was not reclining at all. She insisted I needed to lean back, and I'm like, how do I do that? I had never had this issue on previous visits. Then she adjusted the chair and mentioned that it was broken, and I decided that I didn't want to entrust my eyebrows to someone who was careless about telling a customer to do something impossible. We just got off on the wrong foot, and I didn't want to be in the vulnerable position as a customer here. I'm not sure I'll be returning, even though this threading salon has been a convenient location for me to drop in in the past. If someone isn't paying attention to the condition of their chairs, or observing that I couldn't lean back, how much attention will they pay to doing my eyebrows the way I specify? This may be luck of the draw, and other threaders might be better with customer relations, or this was just a bad day. Give it a try, but trust your gut if the vibe feels off. read more

AVOID! I came in for a simple eyebrow cleanup and clearly explained what I wanted. The technician disregarded my instructions and removed approximately 1/4-1/2 of my right eyebrow, while somehow leaving stray hairs in the middle of the waxed area. Wax also ended up on my cheek and in my hairline, which I have never experienced during an eyebrow appointment in 15 years of having waxing done. Even more concerning, she repeatedly tried to remove the wax from my face, approximately 4-6 times, and still could not get it off. I have never had to leave an appointment halfway done with wax still stuck to my face. I was visibly upset, yet the technician did not apologize or take responsibility. The owner then walked out of the business rather than addressing what had happened or attempting to resolve the situation. This was not a minor mistake or a matter of personal preference. It was careless service, poor technique, and completely unacceptable customer treatment. It would be wise not to trust this business with any waxing service. read more

YESSS I finally found a great threading parlor in the DMV area! This is off the Rosslyn metro and convenient to a barbershop nearby. I could get a haircut by the supreme barbers in the DMV and then get my eyebrows groomed too! Jennifer was amazing and helped me feel very relaxed. I told her I wanted a soft-arch to straight brow look and she cleaned up my brows and made it look pristine! She ended off the session with some aloe gel to sooth the irritation on my skin and gave a little brow/temple massage which I really appreciated. Such a great experience! First timer. I think it really depends on who you get. I had Dilasa, who was very nice. It was really busy on a Saturday afternoon so you should make an appointment! I've had better threading experiences but I might come back to try someone else. I found my brows slightly uneven the next day and a small cut on my upper lip from her threading too hard. The yelp 50% off brows for first timers was a great deal, otherwise $16.99 for eyebrow threading an additional $7.99 for upper lip is expensive. read more

I have been coming here for 2 years. The service is great and fast and its $16 dollars for eyebrows. I have not done my upper though. In terms of my eyebrows I have thick eyebrows and I always tell them to just clean them and try to make them even. I have always had really good experience with all the staff (honestly). It hurts but no scars or cuts. Also, I think it is nice that after 8 times you get one for free! I left in tears. I went in and said do not make my eyebrows thin. I like them as full as possible. I have very large full brows all i asked for was a clean up and she removed most of my brows and gave me a pencil brow shape. This is horrible and right before a big event. She completely butchered my eyebrows and they are both different sizes. One thinner than the other. I am completely devastated! read more

Let me start by saying I REALLY try to only leave positive reviews unless something is REALLY BAD! but after the experience I had here, I felt the need to share. I've been getting my eyebrows threaded for 20+ years. I'm new to the area, and this was my 2nd time going here... both times out of desperation because I needed my eyebrows done for an event. The first time, she did an OK job,so I decided to give her another try.... but this time was not a great experience AT ALL. I arrived and as she was finishing up another client. Once I sat down in the chair, I told her I wanted my upper lip and eyebrows done. I asked her to be gentle and if she could use a more gentle thread (most places have options based on your skin sensitivity). I usually warned new threaders because when they move too quickly, they tend to cut skin. She seemed annoyed and just brushed it off. After she finished my upper lip, I reminded her again to please me gentle. She said "mhm" and proceeded to do my eyebrows. Multiple times, I had to ask her to stop because I could tell she was cutting me. When she finished, my eyebrows were extremely irritated but no visible blood. I paid (still left a tip) and left. It wasn't until the next morning that I realized the damage she had done! I woke up with THREE scabs on one eyebrow and one on the other. I also realized how much hair she had left on my eyebrows and upper lip. The hair is starting to grow l back, and usually, it's thinner after threading. It's now growing back THICKER and worse than before. Next time, I would rather just leave the hair overgrown. Lesson learned- I will NOT be back read more

I discovered this place a few months ago and now it's the only place I go to get my eyebrows threaded. The service is great and fast and the staff are really nice. I don't go that often since it's $13 for an eyebrow threading, so I go every 3 months or so. If you can, I would recommend going in the middle of the day as there tends to be a line in the evening time after work. There have been many times after work where I can just walk in and get serviced immediately. I will continue coming here as long as I live in the area. Definitely try this place out! read more

American Threading Plus is the Courthouse-Rosslyn neighborhood eyebrow threading joint! I've been eyeing this place first open in mid 2017 and I've since became their customer. The shop is very spacious, clean, and bright. All the ladies that work there are very customer-oriented -- I was never disappointed going there! All you need to do is communicate with them how your eyebrows want to look. Since they are very competent, they are very quick in finishing the job! They also have a loyalty card! I've been doing threading in Dupont Circle and in Eastern Market, none of those places have this reward system. I went here last week for free because I've been there eleven times! There were a few customers waiting but the owner was very efficient so I didn't wait too long. She did a great job and was extremely friendly. Update: I went back to this place and another lady fixed my eyebrows and did a nice job I'm bumping it up to 3 stars; she did a good job but I'm still hesitant because of my bad experience the day before. I will go back and I'm sure it will be up to 4* again, but dang! Be careful who you get! It's a great experience if you get someone good!!! I usually love this place, but tonight I went on 3/5 around 6P, and the lady didn't do a good job. When I got home, I noticed between my eyebrows still had multiple strands of hair, and above my eyebrows as well, they were undoubtedly much cleaner than when I walked in, but overall, it was a waste of money, and my eyebrows are now very red and irritated, which typically only last a few hours. I had to pluck the remaining strands out and clean up the middle part. I don't know if I'll go back because I don't want that one woman again. read more

Full disclosure: I am of Indian descent, which means I was naturally blessed/ cursed with thick luscious hair. Being born with a natural blanket is not always a blessing. My fur keeps me warm in the winter, but the up keep requires a lawnmower :) Having said that, let's talk about my eyebrows, shall we? They get bushy and unruly if I do not maintain them. Threading is the only thing that keeps them in check and makes me look presentable and ready to face the world. Threading is an art, the person doing the threading has to know what they are doing or else your face will look like you went through a botched eyebrow lift. The ladies at American Threading Plus know what they are doing...and they do it well.I was in and out in 10 minutes (impressive considering my thick bushy brows) and I don't have a unibrow anymore! I received quite a few eyebrow-related compliments in the office today! Open late until 8pm so you can stop by after work. They have a customer loyalty program where you get the 9th threading for free. At the rate my brows grow, I will have my free threading within 3 months. I've been getting my eyebrows and full face threaded for a few months here. The wait can be lengthy based on day and time of day (a little longer on weekends and weekday evenings) since they don't take appointments. That being said, I don't think I've waited longer than 15 min. The woman I see on weekends is great! She is quick and does a really great job shaping my eyebrows and doing a clean full face threading. I have seen a woman (didn't catch her name) during the weekdays (Mon-Wed) a couple of times. I haven't had a great experience with her hence 4 instead of 5 stars. Her client etiquette isn't great - she knocks my head around forcefully which is a little annoying. She also missed a lot of hairs on my face and my eyebrows were uneven. She used an incredible amount of powder on my face which she said was to help catch the hairs better but, despite this, she did not do a very thorough job and I ended up with a ton of powder in my hair and clothes.
