We've had to call on American Response Team twice now--both times for the same general area in our home. The first time was about 2.5 years ago, and unfortunately, a new leak developed in the same area recently, this time coming from the toilet. Understandably, I was initially concerned that this might have been due to the original installation--perhaps a reused wax ring or something missed. However, I really appreciated how the owner, Will, handled the situation. He took the time to personally speak with me, look up our original file, and even went as far as sending photos from the original job showing that the wax ring installed was indeed brand new. That level of follow-through and transparency was very reassuring. Both times we've used them, their response time and communication have been excellent. They were professional, efficient, and respectful of our home. While I obviously hope I won't need their services again anytime soon, it's a relief to know that if I do, I'll be in good hands. American Response Team (ART) responds quickly and does good quality work. I had a leak in one of my ground floor bathrooms which damaged part of the wall and some of the flooring in a nearby hallway, and ART helped mitigate the water damage and replace the flooring. During the reconstruction process, a couple more leaks/water damage were identified in other parts of the house, along with some plumbing issues, that ART also dealt with quickly and effectively. We did have a misunderstanding regarding the extent of the flooring reconstruction. In my initial conversation with ART, they offered to replace ALL the flooring on my ground floor (so all the new flooring would match), but I declined this offer (knowing that this would cost more + be more disruptive to my tenants). I made clear that ONLY the damaged flooring should be replaced. ART then updated their plan/estimate in agreement with my request. However, at some point during the reconstruction process, a decision was made to replace ALL the flooring on my ground floor, including the undamaged flooring in the family room and kitchen. I was not notified about this change of plans, and only discovered it after all the repairs had been completed. Of course I was frustrated, and contacted the ART contractors to ask why the initial agreement had not been followed. ART explained to me that it is extremely common to replace all the flooring, once the insurance company is involved and sending reimbursement payments....which I understand, but I was still upset that our initial agreement wasn't followed. ART did help negotiate with my insurance company to get additional reimbursement payments sent to me, which I appreciate. However, in this case I would advise A) clearly defining what exactly needs to be replaced/repaired, and B) double-checking that the agreed-upon repair/reconstruction plan is being followed, especially once the insurance company is involved. read more

Moises was very helpful with handling insurance related activities and the business side of things. However, I won't be changing my rating because my husband and I don't agree with the things you said. If you think my previous review was incorrect or an attempt to slander your business, sue me. I can show proofs that everything I said was true. Let's break down the discrepancies: You mentioned the wood was out of stock, your team looked for suppliers and settle where to buy it. But we already found a supplier who held the wood for us. In fact, the reason we chose that specific wood was because it was available in stock, within our budgeted cost per sqft, and could have it delivered by Dec 26th. We called your team from the wood store and have them exchange information with the seller, this was done from our phone while we were in the wood store. Your team didn't follow through. We would've chosen another wood if what we choose wasn't available. Also, your team did forget to work in our bathroom. They didn't come back to fix it until we called to make complaint. The floor replacement was already done several days prior to that. The sink has pre-existing condition? It was perfectly fine pre leak for more than 8 years. Your team demo the vanity & left it in our backyard for almost two months. The sink didn't fell apart until your team came along. You mentioned "free of charge" repeatedly. Let's be real, American Response Team received close to 50k from our homeowners insurance claim payout. Your company was well compensated for the work but why are you making it sounds like they are done for free. We, the homeowners, are the one who had to dealt with the hassle and inconveniences when it come to water damage. The damage and repair disturbs our day to day lives for months. We were moving from air bnb to hotels for several weeks due to reconstruction, the change in living arrangements was very challenging for our two young children. Your team could've advised us not to move out of the house yet if they can't start work right away. We only moved out because we were told they would start work right away and could be done within 2-3 weeks. But turned out they just wanted us to sign a contract. After we vacate our house, your team took 5 weeks to complete the job. Our children would've loved to spend Christmas in our own house had we known they won't be doing much work in our house that week anyway. Thank you for the work but please be upfront about what's getting done and when it will get done, there were so many ways things could've been handled better in our situation. read more

We had American Response Team out in 2023 to fix water damage caused by a leak in the wall. It wasn't a great situation to be going through, but I was happier going through it with them. Everyone I worked with was friendly and cared about getting my house restored. There was enough damage that we had to have a remediation crew out to demo some walls, cabinets, and flooring. Manny, David, and Jose were the best. They got everything done quickly and cleanly. They carefully removed damaged drywall and were able to save our backsplash and countertops by cutting out the cabinets from underneath them. Manny was super communicative and responsive. He always kept me in the loop and responded to all my questions. He made a stressful period much easier to go through. Jennie and Edrianne kept us moving through the process as we got into reconstruction. John came out to do some scans and measurements, and was always friendly and polite. Luis and Arturo guided us through the reconstruction process. Arturo kept us in the loop as our drywall, flooring, plumbing, and cabinets were all restored back to the way they once had been. We called around to a lot of different companies and got told "we don't do that". We had just about given up when we found 3 companies that said they could do what we were looking for. Each company came out and provided us with an estimate but American Response Team was by far the most professional and the most responsive to questions while we were trying to decide. They provided us with a very clear estimate of the work and the prices were broken down so you knew exactly what you were paying for. They were able to start the work within a few days and finished it within the estimated timeframe. While they were at our home they were all very polite and at the end of the day did a great job of leaving the area clean. We did have some equipment left at our home for a few days to help dry stuff out and when we alerted them to a possible issue they responded and took care of it right away. I believe now I'm experienced when it comes to water damage occurring in your home. About 1 1/2 years ago, we had a slab leak in our closet room that contains our water heater. About 3 weeks ago, I walked into this same closet room and found water shooting from our water heater onto the wall and it was all over the floor. To help us navigate both situations, American Response Team was there to make both stressful situations less stressful. When this recent situation happened, I called my plumber that I also recommend, All American Plumbing, who came out and was in the process of removing our water heater to replace it when they noticed possible mold. They immediately stopped and explained that I might need a mitigation company to determine if there was mold. The plumber immediately recommended American Response Team. I quickly recognized the company's name because it had done such a great job with our slab leak. When the plumber told me they would contact American Response Team to come out and do a consultation, I asked if I could have Erik Anaya come out to do the consultation. He said he would try, but that all employees who worked for American Response Team were quality employees. When the employee from American Response Team came out, I honestly did not know whether it was going to be Erik. Fortunately for me, I opened the door and it was Erik who was going to help us again with this water issue. Allow me to reemphasize that if you have any water damage issue, American Response Team is the company you should call first. I highly recommend that you ask for Erik to be the person to come out to help you with taking care of the water damage. I've had two experiences with Erik assisting us and in both instances, I've been a completely satisfied customer. Erik is professional, respectful, courteous, and friendly. Besides these positive attributes, he is highly competent in making sure the water damage is taken care of. He will help you navigate everything you need with regards to repair, testing, and dealing with your insurance. Erik was respectful with regards to using a mask and being safe during this pandemic. Erik and I don't know each other personally, but our conversation is like we are friends. He exhibits exceptional customer service and I wouldn't hesitate asking for his assistance if we ever have a water issue again, which I hope doesn't happen again. Dealing with water damage issues is a stressful situation. There are a lot of unknowns and it's not like water damage occurs on a regular basis. We had a horrible experience with this company. We used them for a water damage we had at our bathroom. Their project manager, Luis, was extremely rude and unprofessional. We had to call him several times to get things done and he was never available. He was also dishonest and he was saying different things to us and different things to our insurance company. He saw that we had extra flooring in our garage that we had paid out of pocket before the water damage and he told the insurance he will use our flooring without even asking us. Unfortunately, when we called the company owner to complain about Luis the only thing he said is that he has worked for them for many years and he is a great employee. We were referred to American Response Team by Home Leak and Drain after they helped us with a leak under our kitchen sink. This is a long review, but if you don't read any more than this, I just want to say that they will do a great job with your house as long as you are not in a hurry and do your due diligence. Manny came out the same day and confirmed we had water damage and set up equipment. The team worked fast, but I already saw there might be communication issues at this point. I stayed home for the first couple of days to help get everything set up and the guys were able to explain to me what was going on as they came and went. The problem started when I went back to work. I think it is reasonable to ask for a regular update for what is going on in your house, especially when you're without a working kitchen. When I was able to reach Manny, he was able to give me an update, but when work would happen on a Friday or I would get home late and have questions, I didn't know who else to reach out to. And that was the common theme throughout the whole process. You would expect a company like this to reach out every day (or at least every day work is done) and let you know what's going on with your house. At the least, send a text or leave a voicemail. I tried leaving messages using their general number, but never seemed to get calls back. It was pretty frustrating. Finally, the mitigation work was finishing up and I wanted to know what the next step was. The estimator for the mitigation came by and let me know I should reach out to Edrianne and gave me her number. At first, I wasn't able to get a hold of her either, but after letting her know my concerns with communication, she let me know I could text her and that helped a lot. There were no real delays during the mitigation process; just in being able to schedule our reconstruction walkthrough. Edrianne covered my insurance deductible to apologize for the issues I had getting a hold of them, so I appreciate that. The next step after mitigation was reconstruction. My first impression of Luis was that Edrianne assured me that he would reach out to me after the reconstruction walk at my house and let me know the situation. I never got a call. I eventually reached out to Luis and we discussed the next steps. I honestly can't complain that his negotiations with my insurance took around a week, because he was able to get us new countertops in addition to replacing our whole floor on the first floor and replacing the damaged cabinets. During our first call, Luis quoted me that it would take his team 2 weeks at the minimum and 3 if there were delays once they had all the materials. That was in March and our job finally finished last week. To be fair, we ended up choosing flooring from Floor and Decor, which Luis said normally came with delays, although he said the delays typically came with waiting for delivery and we both confirmed that the LVT that we wanted was in stock at multiple locations. I'm not sure if this is average, but it took Luis and his team about a week to arrange a pick up and get the flooring staged at our house. Once the flooring was staged, the team came by after a couple of days to install. Again, no big deal if this was communicated in the first place, but the answers always came after the fact and after I asked multiple times. (Rest of review is in comments) read more

Im in the middle of a lot of life situations and this was just another thing added on. He was compassionate and really made a huge difference in how he made sure to cause me less stress. The real deal. American Response Team came through for us big time. Damage from a water leak was extensive. It forced them to rip apart a large portion of our downstairs closet, walls, and garage wall to include shelving and custom cabinets in the garage. Arturo and Luis coordinated everything perfectly. True professionals! We had the mitigation team come through, do the demo, seal off the area, and then they rebuilt and painted everything back to and even better than its original condition. I had water damage from the flood on 1/22/24. I called the next day and they quickly dispatched Felipe who assessed the extent of the damage. He provided a detailed estimate which I thought was very reasonable. After agreeing to the work he immediately set up humidifiers and arranged for a team to do the abatement work. We were referred to American Response team by our plumber after we had a bad leak in our bathroom. Sean came right away to assess the situation and calm our nerves about next steps, and offered advice and started drying out the areas. While I was working, Luis came to assess the job, and went over the process with my wife (while I was working). She liked him, and Luis sent over a proposal for doing a full remodel of the bathroom, along with more work to go alongside it. It was hard finding contractors to do an emergency rebuild during Covid- I was wary of using anyone but the contractor I normally work with (who was unavailable), but we decided to move forward with American Response Team. Luis did an incredible job bringing in an awesome subcontractor (Monster Construction, who did a fantastic job) and made suggestions to ensure that we got the work done beyond what we needed. He also (thankfully) worked with our insurance adjuster, and helped explain the need for certain parts of the work to be covered by insurance- so thankful for that. Thanks, Luis, for stepping up and going above and beyond and for helping solve all of the problems in a pretty stressful time, and huge thanks to Sean for being so fast and accurate in many of his assessments of the damage. We woke up and found water under our sink. We called All American Plumbing and they sent out a plumber to find our leak. As he was checking around our sink, he noticed that there might be some water damage and referred us to American Response Team so that they could come assess the situation. ART sent out Erik and we are really glad to have worked with him! Throughout the whole mitigation process, Erik was very professional and responsive. He came out to our house the same day the plumber contacted them and then worked quickly to dry our kitchen and remove the damaged cabinets and drywall. My husband and I had a bunch of questions and Erik patiently answered all of them. We also appreciated how he stepped us through every step of the process, showed up to our house when the insurance adjuster was there to answer any questions and helped us communicate with our insurance company. My expectations were high after reading all of the wonderful reviews on this company. However, my experience was awful. I had a flood in my bathroom due to a pipe leak. They responded same day and were able to start the drying process. Everything went down hill from there. A couple days later a team came out to start removing my tile shower surround, drywall, part of my kitchen cabinets, and luxury vinyl plank flooring. During this process they scratched other parts of my floor where they stored the kitchen cabinets that they removed, they broke my shower fixtures during the breakdown instead of carefully preserving them so that I wouldn't have to replace them, the way that they removed the drywall and flooring was in such a careless manner that they did more damage than they needed to. Communication was seriously lacking. The technician that was assigned to my project sent me pictures of someone else's house when I asked for a status update. The dry out took almost two weeks for a job that should have taken less than a week. After this I was left pretty much hanging. They kept telling me their general contractor would reach out to me. It took a week for him to respond and set an appointment. Once the appointment was set and the walk through was completed i waited a week and heard nothing back. I texted the contractor asking if he completed the estimate. He didn't respond. I called the office three different days leaving messages until he finally returned my call. He told me he was waiting for the insurance but still would not send me his estimate to complete the rebuild. I never did hear back from him and had to find my own contractor to complete the rebuild. Overall a very stressful and disappointing experience. I would not recommend. read more
