I went Saturday for the first time and had a gel manicure and a pedicure. Every employee was friendly and helpful. My nails look great !

I had a good experience. My big toe on my left foot had ingrown nail and she took care of it with such expertise better than my foot dr.

My mother and I are recently new to the area so decided to give American Nails a try since we pass by it everyday. We came in just for a basic pedicure but quickly realized they were not going to let us leave without upgrading to the "VIP" pedicures. Just kidding..(I think) The "VIP" pedi($40) included a hot stone massage and also a full 10 min massage(which felt more like 15-20) maybe because my mom and I were the only customers? Not complaining though because it felt great! I had Ruby, and my mother had Jenn. Both of our pedicures felt super relaxing and though it was nothing impressive or fancy, it was still really nice! The girls were super sweet and kind. They asked if we wanted a water bottle and showed us how to work the massage chairs etc. They took their time with our pedis and started and finished at same time. My toes came out good and my moms also looked good! We both were satisfied how they came out. Not sloppy at all and overall looked great! The salon could have been cleaner, but it's exactly what you expect for the type of place it is. Nothing really stood out for me as a negative on the cleanliness. It's just your typical strip mall nail salon. Negatives- It was a very hot day, and they clearly didn't have the AC on. Instead they had 6 fans blowing around the salon. It wasn't a bother to me, but for some that might be annoying. In conclusion we will definitely come back for pedis. They did a great job and were very nice. I went there a few times when I was new to town. They were very nice and friendly. They did a good job on my nails when I had a mani/pedi. The bad news........ manuscript removed the shellac polish on my toes with the drill file. Also, she clipped a growth on my toe, which turned out to be a highly contagious wart. Manicurists are trained to recognize contagious conditions of the nails. They ignored the wart several times. I had to have two procedures and one surgery to remove the wart and nail. I was told it may come back. I just would like to give people a heads up. read more

Not from the area, so I gave American Nails a try. Truthfully, very disappointed. I got there had to wait several minutes for the nail technician to arrive to the store. When she came in, she took her shoes off & went on the play a show on the tv & then began my nails. The length of my nails are uneven, on my left hand the nails are longer than the right. I got the dip & two of my nails are super bumpy. Almost a week later, they look awful. As she was doing my nails she insisted I do my eyebrows. I said no at first because I've had bad experience with nail salons doing my eyebrows. She kept pressing it on me. So, I thought whatever I need them cleaned up a little. An older lady did my eyebrows & took too much off. I told her she took to much off & she said no I didn't go right there, when it was clearly very red. Sorry, would never go here again. read more

I have been to many nail salons in Derry but none of them treated me the way Ivy and Mike did. When I called she didn't have two techs on and I wanted to bring my daughter with me. She called me back and said she called someone in so we could go together. I found this to be so awesome because she didn't have to do that but it allowed us to get done sooner. Ivy and Mike were so easy to talk to and I found the place so be very neat and clean. I saw them take the instruments out of the autoclave. I will be returning back to them when the time comes. Stay away! Went there last week with my daughter- her for a shellac manicure, me for a dip. Disaster from start to finish. Woman performing my dip clearly had no clue what she was doing; the wrong top coat was applied, which then had to be filed off, then, despite my questioning, the SAME polish was reapplied....and then filed off. In the end, the tech applied a shellac top coat to my dip and put my hands under the UV lights! Nails look absolutely horrible! Oh and the skin on my fingers has been irritated all week because of sitting in a hot bowl of acetone! In addition, salon is dingy looking and not as clean as it should be. She was a very patient she didn't try to rush around and finish the job just get me out she sat with me and explained the different process and how because my original nails was so short if I got the tips as long as I wanted them they might pop off it wouldn't be there fault and there was nothing we could do to prevent it she said it was a chance that I could take if I want it I didn't feel pressured to do what she recommended. We settled on a gel acrylic light lilac color and we even added on some 3D butterfly design and diamonds as well by the time we got out of there it was probably 8:00 8:30 p.m. I can't stress enough how happy I am with the results and how happy I am that I finally found us along and my new hometown that I love!! My sister and I decided to go for a spa mani/pedicure last week. I've been to plenty of other places so I know what to expect. We were there a total of 50 minutes, including waiting for them to finish their lunch. I've never felt like a customer on a conveyor belt before, I know places like this have suffered from all these closures so I left a generous tip but I would not go back. Two days after having just a clear coat put on my fingernails, the clear coat started peeling off, my cuticles look awful. 5 days after having this done, one toenail has very little polish left. I went to American Nails with my mother this Sunday afternoon. No one was in the salon which should have been a warning sign. Only one woman was working so she toggled between my pedicure and my mothers. She got my previous nail polish color all over my feet. As she cut and filed our nails she cut them as short as humanly possible. Not only was this painful but now our toes look ridiculous. We will not be returning to American Nails. read more

I'm conflicted writing this review, so I'll say that before I start... Went in today, last minute. I called to make sure I could get a pedicure.. I'm super pregnant, due any second, and wanted the last minute pedicure before I wasn't going to have a life (my third... 3 under 3!) I opted to go for the delux pedicure (no idea if that's what its called, but it works.) I go in, and theres two women helping one lady. No big deal, there was no one else around.. My feet start to soak, and I wait while they finish up that lady. The lady I had doing my feet starts, and she does an okay job until she starts cutting my nails. And I seriously felt like Edward Scissorhands was cutting my toenails! They weren't even long, and she managed to make my feet bleed so horribly. She tried to hide it from me, and I tried to not show how much pain I was in (I mean, I am about to give birth, this pain didn't compare) but it was awful and I could see the blood on her hands. The massage part of my pedicure was fantastic!! I was hoping to trigger some pressure points to get labor going, but I am still pregnant hours later... Anyway, while she was doing my massage another lady came in, and she started getting her pedicure bath ready while wearing the gloves that had my blood on them :( THAT was so unsanitary, and I know I don't have any blood borne illnesses, but I can't imagine what else happens there... So she finishes up my pedicure, paints my toenails (and does a great job). I am so conflicted because I loved the massage and the paint job, and she all the ladies there were SO NICE, but I was hurting from getting cut, and grossed out when I saw the whole glove thing.. My 16 yr old daughter just got bullied by this woman for 2 1/2 hours after she continued it do what she asked not to be done. To the point that she was physically crying in the chair and the owner wouldn't allow her to leave. She then still charged her 45 dollars, with bloody fingertips and what is seen to be as the worst nail job I've ever looked at. I went in to ask for a refund and she got angry and proceeded to video tape me with her cell phone while yelling at me from less then 3 feet away and wouldn't keep her mask on. went there twice with my wife and for mani/pedi's got the more expecive one for my wife the first time and normal for my self and got both of us normal ones the second time. the second time was more expensive then the first before tip and they did our hands while they were doing our feet. it was just a congested mess. then when it came to tip they wanted a tip for each person that serviced us which was 2 people each because of how they did it. the guy doing her pedi made her bleed as well. she says it was the worst pedi she has ever had. will not be going back read more

This was the only place I loved going to. However over the past few months they have really gone down hill. The past 2 times I have been there they are down staff, the wait time is ridiculous and you are always rushed. Last time my mother went here to get her nails done the whole thing start to finish was done in 15 mins. My mom questioned her because her cuticle looked messy and the nail tech snapped back saying I know what I'm doing i have been doing this for 20 years. For a first time customer, yes they would absolutely love the treatment they're giving. I'm a returning customer, 4th time I came back I know the drill choose your nail polish color then sit wherever they tell you too. Now I've decided I won't come back. I was there for 2.5 hours not even finished my manicure. The correct process on removing my gel nail polish wasn't done, trammy / Kimmy whatever her name is told me to move to pedi chair, so I did. The older viet woman cut my nails crooked! How can she fix it if she already cut it very short?! Common sense right? The problem with these Vietnamese they speak to you in English then they speak in Vietnamese, don't they think it's very rude? We all know they talk about us customers! Horrible experience! considering here I was, a returning and trying to be loyal customer what did I get?? They gave more attention to this 1 group of first time customers which there is a great percentage they won't come back. Trammy/kimmy is a great actress trying her best to make you feel welcome. I know I'm an Asian too! If she's real sweet, hospitable and truthful, why in my first visit with my daughter she said she only have 1 child a son who's taking medicine, my second visit, I heard her talking to another customer she's telling story about her daughter? The ladies here do awesome work. The prices are fabulous and your really get your money's worth. Don't go there expecting the most spacious spa you've ever been to but the end result is great. The place looks absolutely nothing like the pictures. It is incredibly dirty. I watched a worker use the same tools on a client after she had just used them on me without cleaning them. I didn't even see her clean the pedi chair after I got up and the next person sat down; she just rinsed it with water. In the middle of my pedicure, the tub started leaking and the floor flooded, which I understand happens sometimes, but the person doing my pedicure took my shoes and told me to get up and walk to a different pedicure chair, expecting me to walk barefoot through the huge flood of water without shoes..... I asked for my shoes back and moved. My toe nails are all filed different lengths and lop-sided, and there is paint all over my skin. She also held up the foot filer which had blood smeared on it and said "Look! This is why you're here!" WHAT???? I should have left after that but I had dip done on my nails. THAT was my fault. The girl was so unexperienced with a drill that she cut my fingers multiple times making me bleed. It was looking super lumpy at first and I was so nervous but it actually turned out looking nice in the end, thankfully. She was very nice but it's scary for a client to be worked on with dirty tools and then end up bleeding. I shouldn't have stayed. After all that, I wasn't offered ANY sort of discount. I mentioned that there was a coupon on their website and she allowed me to use it but said "I trust you, just bring it next time." I found this place when I was looking for a nail salon close to me that could do gel nails. When I walked in it was the cutest little place and had such sweet ladies there to do your nails. While I was getting my nails done, they said that they also did eyebrows and I was like "sign me up". One of the women, Yen, did my eyebrows and in all the times I've gotten them done, they were never as perfect as they way Yen did them. I've never been more pleased with them before. I've been to Ulta Beauty and other nail salons that do eyebrows and they were never what I wanted. She gave me the perfect arch for my face shape and they were beautifully manicured. She didn't rush through it to get me out of there as fast as possible and she was very gentle with the wax and tweezers. From coming here only once so far, I can safely say that I will never go anywhere else for my nails and eyebrows because these women are nothing but perfect with their services. read more
