If i could give this place 0 stars i would based on how WEIRD and unprofessional my experience was today. I have been looking for a new nail salon for a while and this one had mostly good reviews. I also read that they do a lot of designs so i was hoping that it would be a good fit. When i called to schedule an appointment it was noon on a sunday and i asked if i could do 4 and the woman asked if i could do earlier and earlier so we booked for 2:30. Which was fine with me and i figured they just wanted to close early. When i got there it was 2:20 but i wanted to take my time picking out a color. First thing i noticed was this place was SO DIRTY and a ghost town (red flag). The chairs and the whole salon was completely run down and visibly hadnt been cleaned. I honestly thought maybe i was at the wrong place. The two women working were attending to a woman getting a pedicure and one of them immediately scolded me for being early and i told her to please take her time and that i wasnt in a rush. I thought that was very rude considering it was the first thing she said to me when i walked in the door. She then told me to pick my color and sit in the chair across from them. The color selection was very disappointing. Every jar of dip powder was basically empty and most didnt even have the color swatched so you couldnt even tell what it was. I was looking for a light purple so i figured i would have one of them help me when it was time for my manicure. While i was looking one of the woman kept on asking me if i wanted a pedicure and i kept on saying no thank you. She asked me probably 4 times and it was beyond pushy. I understand trying to make some money but it was to the point that i felt like i was being rude for not wanted a service that i didnt book. When i finally sat in the chair across from them i realized that the two workers were laughing at something. Like doubled over laughing. They kept on making the woman who was getting her nails done say "diabetes" over and over again. She was visibly uncomfortable and for some reason these two workers found it hysterical. Im not sure what the point of the conversation was but the woman getting her nails done clearly did not find it funny as well. During their laughing fit i looked over at the woman and she looked at me with wide eyes and ever so slightly shook her head no. Like a deer in headlights. I took that as my cue to leave. I took out my phone and made an excuse that i needed to take a phone call and started making my way to the door. This set the two workers into a PANIC and i heard them frantically say "where is she going!? Where is she going!?" I honestly thought they were going to try and stop me from leaving. It was such a bizarre experience and im glad i got out of there before they could even do my nails. I will never step foot in there again! read more

I NEVER give reviews on yelp or Google but I felt impelled because that's how bad the quality and how awkward this experience from start to finish was. I first scheduled my appointment for a gel manicure and the base pedicure at 5:45 but showed up at 5:30 thinking maybe they could take my early. My daughter was competing at a school down the road and I needed to be back by a certain time. They were happy that I got their earlier and took me right away. I asked how long it would take and they said 40 minutes and they could do both at the same time! Great! They started my pedicure and another woman came over and started my nails. To my surprise she didn't soak my hands all and did the entire gel mani sure dry! Cut my cuticles dry and everything (ouch). Then for my pedicure and basic pedicure didn't even include a basic scrub on my legs. Mind you the base pedi pedicure was $40 and the gel manicure that was done dry was $35! They also claimed to include a stone massage on my legs for free even though I didn't ask for it (much rather would have a basic sugar scrub on my legs for $40 but when I asked they said it was a tier up). I also, got really weirded out because they insisted on putting a flower design on my finger when I said no twice but they said It was free and it would look nice. They also kept making comments about how sexy my feet look now. Finally when it was time to leave they asked if I was paying with cash or card. (Ended up taking over an hour anyways) I said I had some cash and some card so I was going to put the service on my card and tip them in cash. Then she put my on the spot and asked how much I was going to tip them. I always tip generous so I said $10 each even though the service wasn't worth the amount it cost anyways. Then she told me that means I pay 95 dollars, asked me how much cash I had, and told me to give her all of it and put the rest on my card. It was so inappropriate and awkward considering I had just told her what my plan of payment was. I am so non confrontational I just said fine and couldn't get out of there fast enough. That was 7 days ago (last weekend) and below is what they look like today. After 7 days there is no way everything should be peeling and chilling especially for $95!!! My sister and I have never had mani/pedis before and this was not a good experience. When entering it doesn't look like the photos, it is very dirty and unsanitary. We didn't know what the products were and no one came to talk to us. The only reason we were able to pick a color is because a different customer told us what each of the things were. The pedicure chairs looked like they had never been cleaned. The man and woman who did our pedicures were very kind and gentle. They did a good job and were cognizant of any issues we mentioned, however they used previously opened single use packets of product. The warm towels looked dirty, and they took their gloves off partway through. The manicures were horrible. The woman who did my sister's came over while she was still sitting in the pedicure chair. She stood next to the chair and made my sister lean over the side of the chair. She was rude, said she couldn't use the product my sister wanted because the sparkles have to have a colored base, and insulted my sister by saying "you have really short nails." She made my sister use the UV curer by balancing it on the arms of our chairs, and didn't answer any questions my sister had. She did a bad job of painting the nails and left them looking clumpy and bubbled. My sister has allergies to a lot of products, and when my sister asked to see the ingredients, the woman put the product on first and then handed over the bottle. Well there was an ingredient that caused my sister to immediately get a rash and itching. When I got my manicure the woman commented that we have so many colors despite most of the colors being ones that we were told we needed to have, not what we asked for ourselves. She was rough, and cut up the skin around my nail. She ripped at the live tissue and caused my fingers to bleed and swell. The paint is uneven and clumsy. The entire time she kept asking how many stars I was going to give her. She may have been joking but I wasn't going to say anything negative when she was already causing me pain. We did not feel comfortable to voice any concerns or comment on the process. When I asked what to do to improve the overall health of my nails, her only answer was to come back for more manicures. I was cold so at one point she put a floor foot heater on the desk and then didn't wash her hands before continuing. When paying they said we MUST give a cash tip and told my sister that she needed to give them a larger tip since four different people did our services. We could have done a better job watching YouTube and painting them ourselves. This place seems like it used to be significantly better and that the people there don't realize how bad it has become. I wish we had felt comfortable enough to ask questions. This experience was painful, not worth the $220, and makes us hesitant to try getting a "professional" nail service again. read more

I have gone here twice now. The first time was for a pedicure and it was fine enough. I figured I'd give them a second chance by going for a manicure... that was the wrong choice. I was sat with someone who was clearly new. All I can say is she needs more practice before she provides service to humans. My cuticles were torn, and she barely let the UV light cure my nails before she attempted to move on to the next step, she cut my nails way too short and did a terrible job at shaping. I tried to tell her and so did the owner but it didn't get any better. I paid $45 for nails I could of done myself. Complete amateur. The lady that was doing my nails was rushing through them the whole time. They were too long, the shape was awful and wonky. She left in the middle of doing my nails and went to go work on someone else's pedicure and came back wearing the same gloves which I thought was very gross. This is my first time to this place and to be honest the people are very friendly there but their service are not satisfied me. I was thinking about to just do the basic pedicure and manicure combos for trying but they convinced me to do the VIP service and price is $65 for VIP w/gel on hands. I told them I have really tough skin and need to have a very good scrubbing on my feet and they did second scrubbing for me. But when I came home and look closer to my feet, it still show not clean enough especially my big toe area. I am disappointed for that. However they did not clean my dead skin enough on my hands and try to be quick on painting my nails so there're some area not cover completely by the color. I had been here before and thought it was not great but decent enough, so I brought a group of family members to get pedicures and manicures. I will NEVER go here again! First, over the phone they quoted us a higher price than what I found posted on their wall. My mother-in-law got cut not once, but THREE times during her pedicure, and I was bleeding after my manicure. Both of us were told it was because of our cuticles (so it was OUR fault?!). Then the emery block that was used on my hands (remember I was bleeding) was NOT thrown away, but put into the drawer to be used on someone else. My mother and I are recently new to the area so decided to give American Nails a try since we pass by it everyday. We came in just for a basic pedicure but quickly realized they were not going to let us leave without upgrading to the "VIP" pedicures. Just kidding..(I think) The "VIP" pedi($40) included a hot stone massage and also a full 10 min massage(which felt more like 15-20) maybe because my mom and I were the only customers? Not complaining though because it felt great! I had Ruby, and my mother had Jenn. Both of our pedicures felt super relaxing and though it was nothing impressive or fancy, it was still really nice! The girls were super sweet and kind. They asked if we wanted a water bottle and showed us how to work the massage chairs etc. They took their time with our pedis and started and finished at same time. My toes came out good and my moms also looked good! We both were satisfied how they came out. Not sloppy at all and overall looked great! The salon could have been cleaner, but it's exactly what you expect for the type of place it is. Nothing really stood out for me as a negative on the cleanliness. It's just your typical strip mall nail salon. Negatives- It was a very hot day, and they clearly didn't have the AC on. Instead they had 6 fans blowing around the salon. I went there a few times when I was new to town. They were very nice and friendly. They did a good job on my nails when I had a mani/pedi. The bad news........ manuscript removed the shellac polish on my toes with the drill file. Also, she clipped a growth on my toe, which turned out to be a highly contagious wart. Manicurists are trained to recognize contagious conditions of the nails. They ignored the wart several times. I had to have two procedures and one surgery to remove the wart and nail. I have been to many nail salons in Derry but none of them treated me the way Ivy and Mike did. When I called she didn't have two techs on and I wanted to bring my daughter with me. She called me back and said she called someone in so we could go together. I found this to be so awesome because she didn't have to do that but it allowed us to get done sooner. Stay away! Went there last week with my daughter- her for a shellac manicure, me for a dip. Disaster from start to finish. Woman performing my dip clearly had no clue what she was doing; the wrong top coat was applied, which then had to be filed off, then, despite my questioning, the SAME polish was reapplied....and then filed off. In the end, the tech applied a shellac top coat to my dip and put my hands under the UV lights! Nails look absolutely horrible! Oh and the skin on my fingers has been irritated all week because of sitting in a hot bowl of acetone! In addition, salon is dingy looking and not as clean as it should be. She was a very patient she didn't try to rush around and finish the job just get me out she sat with me and explained the different process and how because my original nails was so short if I got the tips as long as I wanted them they might pop off it wouldn't be there fault and there was nothing we could do to prevent it she said it was a chance that I could take if I want it I didn't feel pressured to do what she recommended. We settled on a gel acrylic light lilac color and we even added on some 3D butterfly design and diamonds as well by the time we got out of there it was probably 8:00 8:30 p.m. I can't stress enough how happy I am with the results and how happy I am that I finally found us along and my new hometown that I love!!
