When returning it, we also had our generators on the truck that had failed and we were taking for service. The owner of North Main Tool Rental got out his propane tank and started them both (while standing in the hot sun and sweating)! They ran perfectly. He explained that sometimes when you hook up a propane tank they can get an air gap and that keeps them from starting. He said you simply turn off the tank unscrew the connection, you'll hear a hiss, hook it back up and it should work. May God bless he, his family and his business! He probably saved us a pile money for uneeded repair fees!

She quickly answered all my questions. She pointed out that my check would have to clear before they could deliver my mower, but that happened very quickly. My mower was delivered by Charles four days after I paid. Everything went smoothly and it was a pleasure doing business with these folks. I did notice that this shop is EXTREMELY busy, as it seemed every landscaper in the Spring area must go there for parts, repairs, purchases, etc. But that is a good sign in my book! The folks I dealt with were extremely helpful and made this purchase super-easy. I would heartily recommend them if you are considering a mower purchase.

It was a 100-mile round trip to pick up the mower and get it home. As soon as I got the mower unloaded and went to hook it up to my tractor the problems started. The knuckle of the driveline did not fit. I called Mr. Knox and explained the situation, and he stated I needed to come by or send the part to him for replacement. I reminded him that this was a brand new mower, and that, as a result, I should not have to be dealing with the problem at all. His response - take it or leave it. I drove the knuckle back to him, got the proper knuckle, and things seemed to be looking better. Got home, hooked up the mower, followed all of the break-in guidelines (greasing, etc.) and after 15 minutes of cutting smoke started billowing from the mower. The right spindle was frozen, and the belt was burning. I called Mr. Knox and explained the situation. His response was to bring the mower back. I stated that was a huge inconvenience that involved renting a trailer to deliver the machine and renting a trailer to pick up the machine once it had been fixed, and driving a total of 200 miles all for a machine that was brand spanking new and should have been in good working order. Mr. Knox then became most unpleasant. The matter is currently under review and tending towards legal action. My suggestion - avoid Knox Tractor and Howse Implements.

I'm extremely disappointed with McCoy's Building Supply and the way employees are treated at the…read moreTomball location. From what I witnessed, there was favoritism, unfair treatment, and a very hostile work environment toward employees of color. One employee in particular was constantly singled out, picked on, and threatened with write-ups over small things while others were treated differently. What made the situation even worse was how management handled a family death. An employee was grieving the loss of his father and was reportedly threatened with disciplinary action for arriving late on the day of the funeral. Later, he was fired for being 10 minutes late even after giving advance notice ahead of time. That shows a serious lack of compassion and respect for employees. There were also repeated racist remarks and language in the workplace that made the environment uncomfortable and unacceptable. No employee should have to deal with discrimination or hostility while simply trying to do their job. I hope corporate takes these concerns seriously and works to create a more respectful and fair workplace for everyone.

There seems to be a lack of consistency in how employees are treated, and it feels like some workers are not given the same respect or opportunities as others. For a company of this size, I expected better leadership and a more fair and respectful workplace culture. I hope corporate takes a serious look at how this location is being run.

After 3 weeks of being without my machine, I got it back only to find out it was not working. I knew within the first few stitches something was terribly wrong with my machine. Luckily, I had found Eastex when I was "window" shopping for a new model ( the 3 weeks were torture!). I called on a Saturday afternoon and he was able to take my machine in that day. He stated even though I had already had a maintenance, he was still going to take her apart as he likes to be sure the machine was services properly. On Monday he called to let me know it was ready for pickup (even though closed on Monday's he was at the shop) and that there were some alarming evidence the other repair shop may not have been qualified to work on my machine (which I suspected when I tried to use it after getting it back!) Lesson learned - research your repair shop/technician. How long have they been in business, reviews online, certified technician, etc. I'm so glad I found Eastex and Michael (owner). He is extremely knowledgeable, second generation in the business and was a pleasure to deal with. I already have it on my calendar to schedule my 2026 annual maintenance with him in 8 months because he does do house calls, but they book up fast! Don't hesitate to use this shop for any repair or maintenance needs. When it's time for a new model, I'll be purchasing from him.
