Came here for the first time about 2 weeks ago. Spoke to Rachael on the phone and got me set up real quick for 45 pieces of sod. Came out the next morning to pickup and extended my order to 70 pieces (I drive a Bronco). I was anticipating loading up everything myself from some of the mixed reviews but they loaded and I also helped but great service all in all. Had a pretty good experience here, no issues except utilizing the check-in discount. Rachel helped me both times I came, once to check it out, second time to seal the deal. The grass wasn't the cheapest but it looked really good and since they had the discount on the pallet, I chose them. Unfortunately, she technically would not honor it and stated they'd wish Yelp to remove it. That part isn't in my arena but she did offer a slightly less discount plus she gave me some of the extra sods for free. Otherwise, it was easy breezy. The loaded it on the trailer and we went on our merry way. The grass was 95%+ beautiful, some were a little dry. The way some of the sod was stacked was annoying too because you couldn't just grab a piece cause the other side may be stacked on top of it. No complaints, great people working there and super fast service. After paying, a lady showed up on a forklift in just a minute to load into my SUV by hand. I only got 15 pieces (~3 ft x 1.5 ft or so). I was trying to help load by hand but then the lady who was also the cashier came out and helped her load real quick. Very polite and respectful too. Grass looks to be in good quality, much better than I've ever gotten from Home Depot/Lowes. Will see if it holds up. They sell rocks too but no idea if a good deal. read more

I called asking for a specific type of sod. They had it in stock and had a great price for it. No need to preorder, just come pick it up. They have delivery service but a pallet fit in the back Of my pickup. Five minutes after arriving there I was on my way. The nice lady rang me up and away I went. I wish I can give this company a Zero star!!! This white man with the colored eye is RUDE, RACIST and Don't give a fck if you are a woman!! I am in disbelief at the service they provided. Me and my wife bought a pallet of grass from them, my wife spoke to that blonde lady at the cashier, and my wife was told that we can do 2 trips since we only have an SUV. I came back to pick up the grass and guess what, they said it's not gonna work, that it will not fit, granted. it may not fit that why the woman at the cashier said, we can do 2 trips. so I told them it was ok to load it in the SUV since I already laid down some trash bags and whatever fit, I'll come back for the rest. The white dude said ok and to pull back from the pallet so it will be easier to load. Now, when I pulled back the SUV and went down. This Man said, "Are you gonna help me?" (sarcastically) So basically they will not help you load the grass you bought and you have to do it yourself. not only he said that he also stated that, He cannot keep helping and loading the grass because he got other shit to attend to. So basically I have to do the labor of picking up the grass myself to load it in my truck. oh, he also said to me that if somebody will load that will be $400. So now I am more shocked by what he said. He then proceed to ask my wife over the phone if we just want to cancel or refund because my wife is upset that he told me to help him and if we were told that will be the process we wouldn't have even bought the grass in the first place. If I could leave no stars I would! I came to this place looking for a pallet of grass and more than likely I was a little ignorant as to how big a pallet is and it fitting in my SUV. I advised the cashier of my circumstances having a suv and wanting a pallet she told me I would probably have to make two trips because it wouldn't fit in my car. That was perfectly fine...fast forward to my wife going back to pick up the grass with all of the seat put down to make sure we can fit majority of it she is told that she has to load the entire pallet herself. She tells them that we weren't told this upon purchase which is true...the guy proceeds to say well you can get it just back your car up, she backs the car up and he tells her "so are you gonna help me" at this point I'm on the phone upset because who pays $232 for a pallet of grass and loads it themselves. On top of he told me they usually charge $400 to help load grass on vehicles...He tells me I won't talk to him like that and he'll just refund my money back. Then the ladies at the front lie and say that they told me that we would have to load it ourselves. Never in my life would I have paid for such a thing ! If you are a woman and trying to buy grass DO NOT COME HERE or DO NOT COME ALONE. He was the rudest man I have ever come across and I hate that I even have to wait for a refund to be made on my account because of his poor customer service and lack of kindness. I am a BIG fan of this place. Each time I have visited this place I have been each time with the excellent quality of their product. I have literally left Home depot 3 miles away were the grass sod was half brown and somewhat green and priced at almost $3 a sod and just a few pieces. 290 grass had pallets and pallets or grass green than most lawns. The price was more than $1 less. Another good thing is that they also deliver and will also install. In writing this I must caution all potential customers to be aware of their hours for they are not open all day on Saturday! read more

I purchased sod from this family-owned company several years ago, on the recommendation of a neighbor, so naturally I went back to 290 Grass when I needed to redo the yard on my corner lot. Sometimes you have to call a few times because their line is busy, but they are honest about their timeline ex. if it's raining or going to rain, they won't cut the sod because it just falls apart. Because I was doing my own install, I had three pallets delivered at three separate times. The grass came promptly in the morning and was left on the sidewalk where I was working. They grabbed the old pallet when they dropped off the new, full one. In the three pallets, I had maybe 5 sad-looking pieces of sod, which was likely due to the heavy rains we had been having that week. So while I can't speak to their installation, I was very pleased with their sod delivery services. read more

After searching high an low in my area home improvement stores for sheets of sod, I was directed to try 290 grass. I went on a Sunday and they were unfortunately closed, but the following Saturday I was there bright and early. I bought a dozen sheets for just over $15.00. Not a bad price when you're desperate need. Two weeks later I had a follow up visit and they were in the process of closing. I told the guy i'd come back another day, but he wouldn't hear of it. He loaded my jeep up with 12 more sheets, shook my hand and told me to pay for it the next time I come back. This place is now my go to as I'm slowly residing my yard. I placed an order Tue or Wed for a skid of St Augustine to be delivered on Friday 24th. When i spoke with them, i was 1st to order for Friday delivery, i was open to any time in the am, the earlier the better. She said i could receive 9-10 am, At 10:00 i sent a text to get an eta. I was then told it would be 2:00, i explained that would not work. I was then told they would deliver shortly. I had to let the help i had paid go, couldn't pay them to stand around, and wasn't sure what time product would arrive. I am 59 yrs, i didn't really want to lay the sod myself. At 11:00 am they showed up & delivered skid. I found out later the young lady that delivered (alone) was also the owner. I was on a corp conf call, so i couldn't help unload. Later i started moving sod myself, when i finished i had counted 136. skid was supposed do have 165. (approx $50.00 sod) I sent another text commending the lady for delivering, however, i also let her know i was shorted, I also do not believe they knew the skid was short, no harm, no foul. To their credit, she offered to refund my entire fee, Grass & delivery charge. I explained to her, I didn't want any "freebies, discounts, or refunds" I just wanted what i paid for. I wasn't trying to take advantage of her company. As of today, 4/29/2020, I still haven't received the ones missing. I will be needing more sod shortly, i will not be returning here/ Footnote: over the last 3 years, I had purchased 4 skids here before. read more
