We have Jose, Leo and Olma work on a couple of trees in our front and backyard and they did a fantastic job and trimming the high branches and the one branch that was very close to our home. They were very professional wearing hardhats and skin protection and knew what they were doing. Would recommend them again.. Thank you read more

We highly recommend Jones Road Tree Service (https://jonesroadtreeservice.com). We hired them in Feb, 2025 to trim 10 trees and provide deep root feeding. Just over two years ago, we used their services, and our trees thrived during the drought, derecho, and hurricane, thanks to their expert care and proper trimming. Owner David Mauk, a Certified Arborist, provided a thorough and informative consultation to review the details. The crew was professional, knowledgeable, and ensured all debris was cleaned up after the work was completed. We will continue scheduling biannual trimming and feeding to maintain the health and upkeep of our trees. read more

Jones Road Tree Service - Feb 2025 - Tree Services Near Me - Houston, Texas

Jones Road tree service did remarkable job of diagnosing our trees with aphids. They came out, did the treatment, and we have not had a problem since. They were very communicative and thorough with their service. The owner did a great job of educating me on what I needed to do with my trees to make sure this didn't happen in the future. We have not used them in the past for our trade service, but we will definitely consider them in the future. read more

UPDATE: After the Hurricane Beryl hit the Houston area back in July, we called for several quotes to cut down and remove two HUGE trees in our back yard. We got quotes that were high due to the demand but David and James hit me with a quote of $25,000. Yes, $25,000 for two trees. When we said we had to call and get other quotes, James (from the Dallas area) who was in Houston to chase and take advantage of desperate Houston residents called me and threw $18,000 but I said no, he then offered up $15,000 and I still said no because I knew better and he was simply trying to take advantage of me. I went with a referral from a friend and went with Navarro Tree service for $9,500 for both trees. Not sure what caused Jones Tree service to lose their integrity but they did and it came at a very stressful and difficult time for so many countless Houstonians. I would stay away from these guys and it's a shame, I liked them and used them four years ago and I will never use them or refer them - MY ORIGINAL REVIEW BELOW FOR REFERENCE: Had a beautiful four-story-tall oak tree in our backyard that covered half of our roof that unfortunately needed to come down. It had massive root rot that allowed termites to destroy half of it that was not seen without examining it. So we contacted several companies which gave us some bids that were drastically different; from very, very high to suspiciously low. We went with our gut & instincts and went with Jones Rd Tree Service because the botanists David & William were very professional and incredibly honest with their estimate while taking into account the level of peril & issues that could occur. The team were actual employees who were respectful & very efficient when they took down our tree with both botanists supervising and helping their crew carefully take down the big oak. The old saying "you get what you pay for" applies to Jones Rd Tree Service when you need good quality work you can trust at a fair honest price. We 100% recommend this team for all your tree needs. read more

Actually should be a Zero Rating Please do not trust Jones Road Tree Service!! I've been a customer over 5 years. In April they removed front yard oak tree and their stump grinder cut through four sprinkler lines costing $665 to repair. David Mauk, owner refused to pay cost of repairs after several emails and calls showing damage and repair bill. It's now almost end of June. Please use any other service as Mr Mauk is not to be trusted when his crew causes damages. Will be reporting to BBB read more

They always do a great job with tree trimming. They have the knowledge to keep your trees healthy.

Trimmed and shaped our Live Oak tree in the front yard. Crew arrived on time, was friendly, knowledgeable and communicated what they would do. Consulted with us as they trimmed and cleaned up thoroughly, great customer service and good value. 5 stars read more

Called Jones Road Tree service Thursday morning before an upcoming cold snap in hopes we could get someone to come out and trim back some live oak branches that were extending over our roof. Not a difficult task but daunting for people who don't have all the tools and are getting a little old to be up on ladders. Ben understood our concerns, had us send pictures for the arborist to approve, and found a way to get a crew out there by 4 pm the same day. The crew did a good job evaluating where to make the cuts to protect both the roof and our tree. The price was very reasonable, especially considering the 'last minute' request. We will be calling them when we have the trees maintenance-pruned in the next few months. read more

Owners are very friendly and knowledgeable about prioritizing the health of trees while also maintaining their customers happiness. 10/10 would recommend, they make scheduling quick & easy with fair pricing. read more

Lots of odd behaviors upon estimate/consultation appt. 1) David Mauk had to call and get "confirmation" about what my tree could have. Also didn't know Japanese Blueberry Tree leaves turn red when dead and shedding. If you're a certified arborist you should know these things. 2) Took a phone call from an irritated client about appointment miscommunication. She was on speaker so I heard everything. David apologized for this and commented that this client was "a pain" and "difficult to work with". Inappropriate to have these comments relayed to a potential client. 3) Stated he would "wave the visit fee". I was never made aware there was a consultation fee. 4) asked multiple times about where I'm from. Claiming he was "curious" he then asked if I was from Mexico and stated he thought I was because "you look Hispanic". After stating unnecessarily that I was Native he then asked my tribe name. None of which is any of his business and the former is extremely IGNORANT and rude. Learn decorum please. I would never suggest this company; extremely rude and inappropriate "customer service". 0 stars. read more

We scheduled an appointment for them to come to our property to give an estimate. On the day/time of the appointment, no one showed up. I called the office, they said they are running late. I called again 2 hours later, they finally sent the owner Dave. The estimate to cut and remove a 60 foot tree was $3000, and even after some negotiation, $2500 is still very unreasonable (knowing we just had a tornado in the area and tree trimming is in high demand, $2500 seems to be price gouging). Dave also asked me if i heard about his company from my Asian friends. It is offensive to make such assumption/comment and my ethnicity should be irrelevant in getting a tree removal estimate. Jones Road Tree Service is disrespectful throughout the entire interaction, I was very disappointed. read more

After initially having issues with workmanship, Jones Road came back out, finished the job.

I wanted an arborist tending to the 4 oak trees in the yard. Jones Road Tree did a great job. And the price was the exact same as the guy with a chain saw and a pickup. The difference was Jones road took a ton of photos so his guys would know where to cut and and how to cut. And he waited until the proper time of year for cutting on oak trees. read more

I'm not one to give five star ratings, but these guys are wonderful. We've used them four times in two different homes and they have been exemplary each and every time. Quick, detailed, efficient and always clean up well after themselves. I've never had a neighbor complain. I will keep my fridge magnet for the next time! read more

I have been a customer of Jones Road Tree Service in 4 houses over 25 years. Never have I ever been treated so disrespectful from David and his staff. Did not complete the job after coming out 3x, called a liar by his staff and hung up on, left back gate open and dog ran away. Except for them calling and emailing weekly for payment there has been no acknowledgement or attempt to finish the job I waited over 8 weeks to start on tree trimming! Highly disappointed in David and his staff and will never use or recommend his business to anyone....yes David the owner knows all of the above. How sad they care so little about a long long time customer and one who has recommended him so often. Side comment as 2 other customers I have recommended Jones Road to, they cut down 1 friends healthy oak tree and not the dead one and another friend had all of the wrong trees trimmed in their back yard!!! No compensation or conversation after the fact. So disappointing. read more

We made an appointment for 8:30 Monday morning. When no pne showed up by 9 we called their office and had to leave a message that was never returned. Soneone called at 10:15 to say they were 15 minutes away. No acknowledgement of being two hours late. Showed up and told us our best option was to rent a stump grinder and do the work ourselves. We called JP Tree Service who came out immediately and scheduled the work for the same afternoon. read more

Arborist William is a gem of a professional! He truly informs & educates, and takes thoughtful time w customer - and to get things right. In short: HE CARES & KNOWS WHAT HES DOING! How refreshing in a world of slick salespeople who have no time except to make a buck. We are grateful for his knowledge, & guidance w our Grapefruit tree after devastating HTX Winter Storm - and look forward to working w him to restore & plant more trees. HIGHLY RECOMMEND & will refer all friends & family in need of this service. read more

Phenomenal service. Certified arborist. Great pricing. Very responsive. Will not butcher your trees like all those landscaping contractors who also "trim" trees. I almost dont want to write a review so that your trees look as good as mine or the company becomes too busy to trim my trees. read more

From the initial call to JRTS service was great. David came out to our house to take a look and recommended what should be done with our backyard but also took into account some of our concerns as well. Prompt notification from the office concerning scheduling, when the crew arrived they went to work and removed all debris created by the trimming. Overall - price was right, service has been great. I'd recommend them in the Houston area for this type of service. read more

Unreliable. Was told guy would come out between 9 and 11am and were a no show. Not even so much as a courtesy call with explanation of why they couldn't be on time. I have a job and a life. Better things to do than wait around several hours for a no show. Don't recommend this company to anyone. read more

Dave and crew Rock. Always do a Great Job on my trees and two of neighbors that I referred. Great Company.

Our neighborhood facebook page recommended Jones so I thought I give them a try. I had a pine tree that needed to be cut down. Dave came out to give me a quote in Feb. He also included trimming the oak tree in the front yard and some of the trees in the back yard. Two weeks later they were out and took care of the work. Very knowledgeable of their trade. The clean up and chipping process was great. My neighbor liked their work so much she had them out last week and they cut five trees from her yard. Totally trust this company. read more

I tried scheduling this company twice to remove some trees. The first time, the owner failed to communicate to his office staff that it was to be done. So I called and scheduled a new date. When that day came and went without them showing, I called back and the lady I spoke to misrepresented our call and said that I wanted to call back to let her know a date. In fact, we settled on a date on that phone call. The lady was not apologetic at all and blamed me, the customer. I would not recommend this place unless they can work out their office staff communication issues. read more

I had a good experience with these guys. They are very professional. They trimmed my trees on short notice and left everything tiddy. There was no trash, leaves or branches. I recommend these guys. read more

It was a little difficult scheduling our service but they were spot on with their diagnosis and treatment of our giant Live Oak tree. It had moss balls and if it had gone untreated it could have killed this beautiful tree. They have trimmed and treated our tree since 2008. I also used them when I lived in Oak Forrest back in 2006. I would not use anyone else. David and his staff are friendly, professional and honest. I would highly recommend them for any tree services you need. read more

I have *Tried* using them many times over the years. They have a constant habit of not calling back, and even if you do get them, actually getting them to come out it a crap shoot. I called and scheduled someone to come out today. They never showed. I just called them and they said that it never actually got scheduled. I will never use them again. This is probably the third time that I have taken off work and they never showed. I recommend you don't use them either. read more

Called Jones Road Tree Service to get a quote on trimming two mature trees, one a pecan and one a water oak and both well over 60 feet. I was given a verbal quote of $250 without anyone coming out to look at the trees. After reading another review of the company, I called back to get my quote in writing. I was told a quote would be sent to my email address, which I had given earlier. Six months later, I"m still waiting for my written quote. Not recommended. read more

I called Jones Road Tree Service to ask for an estimate to trim my crepe myrtle. The guy says, $250. I said, that's too much, and hung up. The guy calls me back, and said, What side of town are you on? Um, I live on JONES ROAD and Louetta....so he says, oh, then it's only $125. I said, that's still too much, no thanks. I had already went to JRTS website the night before to ask for an estimate - they sent me an email, with a quote of $150. I wrote them an email right back, and said, How can you send me a quote when you haven't even seen the tree I am talking about? This is a crepe myrtle....not a fifty foot pine. Very annoying. My lawn guys ended up doing exactly what I wanted for free. read more

Trying to replace two trees in my front yard. Called Jones Road service...showed up about an hour late but that was ok cause things happen. Get there and David, the CEO, was indecisive on what to do. I hired Jones Road Tree Service for two different jobs: tree trimming and tree removal. This company is outstanding in providing experienced estimates from their owner, to scheduling the job in a timely manner. Their team of experts can't be beaten. They're fast, professional, and do an awesome job. Payment is made after the services are performed. They don't require any down payments or deposits as some other companies do. A special thanks to Crystal for her professionalism, quick response times to e-mails, and processing of invoice payments. You won't be disappointed in their service. They're fully bonded and insured and a member of the BBB. Highly recommend! read more

I was very pleased with the work that Haime and his team did with my trees. They were very professional and did a great job with my two huge oak trees in my back yard. Jones road tree service did an awesome job for my parents in Hearthstone. I will use them again and recommend them to everyone.

I asked for bids from three companies only to find out that none of them had worker's compensation insurance on their employees. Since tree servicing is an inherently dangerous occupation, I did not want someone's employee sueing me if they were injured on my property. Jones Road not only had full insurance coverage, their price was not that much higher than those without and their work was exemplary. They came on the date promised and removed three trees and trimmed the rest and were out in one day. The person doing the aerial work had proper protective gear and was an artist on landing cut branches and heavy trunk pieces where they needed to go without damaging my garage or the fence they were next to. I only awarded them four stars because they dropped the ball on communicating some additions to the original proposal which I had to call them on a couple of times to schedule getting the work done. Over all, a minor issue that would not keep me from using them again. read more
