I've used 2gals for two different jobs, both dealing with long delayed yard maintenance. They responded in person the same day I called and provided a quote within 24 hours. While the price was not cheap, I received fair value in a job well done. The second job, involving removal of dead shrub stumps and a 50 year old overgrown Holly, as well as mulching all areas involved, was accomplished extremely quickly. 2 Gals did a great job on our native plant landscaping project. The communications were clear. Scheduling the work was a bit challenging, but once scheduled, the crew was on time and all of them were professional and respectful of our property. We had a big cleanup project and lots of clearing of dead plant matter, bamboo, leaves and vines. The crew did an excellent job. The planting was a little disappointing because we were unable to get all the native plants in the bid, but we agreed to some substitutions. The plants are a little sparsely planted in my opinion, but they are perennials and in pretty good shape, and they should fill out the space as they grow. There was good communication throughout the whole day of cleanup and installation. read more

Save yourself a lot of aggravation & money & NEVER use Alicia Gallindo or 2 gals landscaping. I hired her to plant a new hedge. This included an extra $600.00 for a timed watering system. This system NEVER WORKED. Install was done 8/11/25. Alicia assured me that she would make it right. There was heavy rain the next wk. I was out of town the next wk & cam hm 8/22 to find a good 1/3 of the install was washed away! Mulch & topsoil down to sand. Her work didn't even last 2 wks & the sprinkler still didn't work. Alicia did send people out to clean up porch & sidewalk which was a true walking hazard. But she did NOT replace topsoil or mulch. Sand is still showing in many places. After 1 month of her not fixing watering system I started asking for my $600 back. In 4 weeks she came out once & only took pictures. Sprinkler system still doesn't work. It never did. I'd like my $600 returned & topsoil & mulch replaced. read more

Met with Alicia to landscape my backyard and part of my front yard. I had drainage issues in my backyard. She recommended adding stamped cement around my existing patio and river rock around that. They also added some pavers and some that I already had in my backyard. New sod was placed and Jasmine around my oak tree. She highly recommends MicoLife Organic fertilizer. Spent thousands with this company and was ghosted after everything died. I requested a tree that covers a window for privacy. I got a mangled bush that hasn't grown an inch in a year. I selected different hardy plants, but Alicia convinced me to go with something else that would survive a freeze. (They didn't survive). Vines growing on my house that I asked to stay were removed. Alicia came out for an estimate for a large job. Professional and on time. She had some ideas, but not a lot. We decided to take the project in segments and identified the elements of the first segment. She promised a sketch and estimate. I didn't get anything. I followed up after a week. She recommended three types of plants for the first area we were going to address, but her number of plants would be appropriate for the 2nd phase, not for the 1st phase. She didn't provide an estimate of time or price, a sketch, and she didn't respond to the follow-up. It wouldn't have taken long to tell me, "Not interested," "Job too small" or "We're too busy." I am not a green-thumb, so was only able to describe (at a very high level) what I wanted. She walked me through some various options and had great ideas for the yard. SHe and her team cleaned out all the flowerbeds, removed dead shrubs and trimmed others, cleaned up the palm trees and crepe myrtle, incorporated bull rock, and mulched everything, as well as removing an old raised flowerbed. Summary: After reading the positive reviews I can only conclude that they can do some easy things. They did not do a very good job, took a long time, did not complete the work, did not communicate well and were unprofessional. Left 2 broken sprinkler heads sitting in the yard as if they were just fine. I just turned on the sprinkler - geysers out of the ground. These guys are awful. Details: Alicia is personable and speaks well but don't let that fool you. While she responded positively to the additional things I wanted to be done, she apologizes a lot ... for good reason. She is not professional in her approach to business and her staff do not speak English or understand that the job site is NOT their property. She does not spend much time on the job site so if there is something you would like from them, such as to not park in your driveway blocking you into your garage, it takes a while to get them to understand they need to move. The project estimate was in a text message; I had to translate it into an understandable form and get her to acknowledge it, which took repeated attempts to get clarity. She called me at 10:30 at night wanting an incremental payment the very next morning by 8 am, in cash. I was charged more than the estimate once; it was later corrected when I pointed it out due to my having prepared a structured estimate from her text messages. Requests for immediate payment at odd times were the norm. I had to prepare receipts for the payments since apparently that is not something she does. Timing and expectations were not communicated clearly or timely. We discussed the project at length and I had to get a number of things confirmed in writing on my own initiative, going back to her repeatedly. She took no notes at any time as we discussed the project. The first grass installation had to be removed because the wrong type of grass was installed! Her staff is not professional. Since she is not around most of the day - I work at home so I was present 98% of the time during the project - the one guy on the job spent a lot of his time looking at his phone. Staff arrives at random. The staff does not arrive prepared to work. One guy spent multiple intervals sharpening tools with a grinder at my backdoor. He left metal filing grinding debris, mud tracked all over the patio, trashcan can drag away, old drainage pipe left in my flowerbed, etc. I told Alicia about her crew - no response from her. At one point all the outlets on my back porch were in use for their phones. Trees were put in okay with a new bed created. Removing plants and mulching went well (we'll see what was really removed next spring). A drainage line and box was installed and tied to the existing drain line to the street - that is okay. The sod removal and new sod installation were not done properly. The sod removal was done by hand and not deep enough, leaving plant (weed) roots in the ground. Topsoil was not laid out prior to sod installation; the front yard got some subsoil distributed, the backyard had no soil put in for the sod at all. The sod was constantly walked on as it was being installed - "Do not do" for sod installation. The sod pieces were laid down with small gaps and in some places large holes were left where the sod did not line up. I have to correct that myself. By Dec 15, the project had been going on since Sep 13 and nothing had been done for over a month. When I requested status I was told "I will get back to you today"; days went by with no response until I asked again. I finally got fed up with these amateurish charlatans. The job was not finished, there was no apparent interest in finishing, just "will get back to you" messages that were never fulfilled. read more

I got new mulch and plants put in today. Alicia came by and I told her what I needed and she came up with a very reasonable quote. I did get 2 other quotes and she was the middle. She was very personable and pleasant to work with. She got the job finished within the time she said she would. She uses organic fertilizer which I thought was a great idea. I'm going to be putting in a deck soon so I'm waiting on a quote now from her. You can tell she really loves her work! read more

I contacted Alicia's Landscaping, aka 2 Gals Landscaping, because I moved to a home with an already nice looking backyard that I wanted to take the next level. I read the reviews and called Alicia over for a consultation. She was very courteous and professional. I asked her "what can you do with my yard?" and we talked ideas. Not only did she have some great suggestions, she has an extensive knowledge of plants, soils and landscape design. She recited the name and traits of just about every plant in my yard and helped me come up with a near term and long term plan. For this month's project, color was the name of the game. She picked out a beautiful assortment of flowers and grasses for my planters, which totally jazzed things up, she and her crew carefully arranged and planted them, moved my oleanders to the back yard from the front, and treated my lawn grass. She was out there with them, working in the dirt and planting them herself. I also got quite an education on lawn and gardening from her. Admittedly, at first I was a little squeamish about the price, but it was a big job and the way my yard looks now it was definitely worth the spend.
