They Couldn't fix our power washer but gave us most of our deposit back. It was very hard to get in touch with service department by phone.

Remember anyone can sell you a tractor or mower but it is the trust you have in the relationship that really counts. I have been privileged to purchase tractors from Gene an excellent salesman and customer advocate. Ever since I walked in the first time he told me what I needed to know! Not what he wanted me to know. The difference, when a salesman tells you what he wants you to know it's in his best interest. Not necessarily yours. That started my relationship with J5. Selling me what I needed. Then there is Craig,, over service and parts. He has been unbelievable!!! Even when parts have been hard to come by he has found a way!!! Don't get me started how he works with sales to make sure everything is just right! Nor how he has handled every warranty issue, plus an insurance claim as fast as humanly possible. Perhaps it's because of the people like Jerry and Shawn that he has working with him. Finally this post would not be complete without mentioning Andrew!! He just assisted me in buying three mowers this month. He stepped up like no one else I know!! So if you want a great deal on a mower go in and see Andrew and if you want a great deal on a tractor go see Gene. You will be in great hands!!! And thankfully this dealership is family owned not like the corporate box stores. Cody Johnson (not the singer, but he may sing) is the next generation stepping up to continue the Legacy of J5 tractors.

Ace Hardware Manager told us to take it to Southern Tractor that they perform Warranty for Stihl purchases from Ace. Also, Ace told us that the Stihl Warranty covered any issue for the first year up to and including replacement of the unit. We then took the unit to Southern Tractor and the gentleman that helped us took it and said "Oh yes, any issue would be covered by warranty". We received a call from Southern Tractor telling us the unit was ready - no mention that there would be a charge. My husband went to pick up the unit and was told, that it required a carburetor adjustment and the charge was $55.00. Manager Amy at Southern Tractor, says that they had to adjust first before they can find out if there were any other issues - no other issues - so they say we are responsible for the adjustment fee of $55.00. Amy was also very rude on the phone when I called to discuss. I do not recommend Ace Hardware for lawn equipment or Southern Tractor to perform work. Remember the warranty on lawn equipment is not worth the paper it is written on.

I bought a new John Deere E130 riding lawn mower last year at Lowes and took it to them for problems with surging issues, which it had from the beginning. It has only 54 hours on it so I was advised to let them look at it under warranty. When I dropped it off, I suggested it might be an automatic choke problem (also confirmed by my lawn mover repair guy who suggested they fix under warranty). After a week and a half, I had to call them because I had not heard about the status. The person in the service department said the carburetor needed to be overhauled and they said it would be about $350. I said no way - its a new tractor mower practically. So when I went to pick it up, they charged me $73.36 for labor and misc(?). When I took it back to my really honest mower repair guy Tim. He looked at it and confirmed the automatic choke was sticking and just needed oil to loosen up. He said he wasn't even going to charge me. So, after finding out the real problem and upset about the misdiagnosis, I called King Ranch AG & Turf and asked to speak with the store manager. Instead, they sent my call to the Service Manager who refused to acknowledge that their diagnosis was wrong and refused to refund the service charges. Not only did they misdiagnose the problem, they charged me for it. I don't know if they knew the problem was minor and could easily be fixed and were going to charge me for a carb overhaul they didn't intend on doing, or they don't know what they are doing. My guess is they didn't even look at it and guessed at the problem. Either way, I shouldn't be charged for their mistake. If you have any warranty problems with your John Deere, don't take it to them! I don't know which is worse: charging customers to look at problems covered under warranty or their service manager, a woman who clearly doesn't care about John Deere customers or the reputation of that John Deere dealership.
