They were very responsive and easy to reach about getting the job scheduled and followed up diligently with the arrangements and coordinating the job. They showed up on time the day that they were scheduled to begin and worked professionally to complete the work. Once the tree was completely down, they informed me that they would be back the next morning to remove the larger pieces. First thing the next morning, they showed up as promised and removed all of the wood. They completed the entire job in the time frame that they promised and did a great job removing the tree. I don't always go with a company based on price, but I'm glad that i did in this case as not only were the by far the most reasonably priced, but they completed the job with excellent customer service that i'm sure even the most expensive company wouldn't have rivaled. They've cleared brush,…read moretrimmed Bradford Pears, cut back trees next door shading my flower beds, kept mature trees in tip top shape, removed a sick maple, and taken down huge trees. We recently bought a new house, and they removed four trees: a huge spruce over 60 years old, an elm perhaps 25 feet tall, and a holly and a dogwood which had seen better days. I thought we needed to remove a fifth but on their advice decided to keep it. Bonifant comes insured and bonded; their guys wear safety gear, including protection against poison ivy, and work fast and safe. Safety is important; I've used chain saws myself and have seen plenty of folks working on trees who take unnecessary risks. Bonifant shows up on time, cleans up carefully when done, and does a thorough job. One of the things I like most about them is that they don't just cut down trees, they know how to care for them. No matter what sort of trees are around your house, they need regular careful trimming to keep them healthy and to reduce the risk that they'll come down in a storm. Bonifant knows how to do this. Finally, their prices are imminently reasonable. I recommend them enthusiastically.

One of the pines was 100 feet and right over a fence. They managed to remove the entire tree without causing damage to the fence below, which was pretty astounding considering the immense sizes of the cut trunk pieces that kept coming down. They even took care to clean up everything from picking up tiny branches, to blowing the chipped debris off the road, to moving the metal gazebo back to where it belonged. When it comes to trees, Andrew knows exactly what he is doing, so you feel comfortable staying out of his way (literally) and letting him and his skilled staff do the job. Highly recommend!

They took extra care by placing mats so the heavy equipment used would not damage the lawn. Imagine all the leaves and branches in the crown + trunk of a maple and think of it dangling upside down suspended over a little lawnmower shed. It was entangled in a smaller dogwood and it's own lower branches. The Tree Man(ny) himself was quick to respond to my request for an estimate. We received estimates from 3 well-rated companies and went with Treeman because they were a little better priced than the other company and had received two recent testimonials of clients who've worked with them directly. If I could dock half a star, I would because as a mom, I'd have liked to see everyone in protective gear (helmets, glasses) especially since my 6 and 8 year old watched them intently throughout the job. But they did 5-star work and it was clear they knew their stuff. I'm guessing you must if you're free-scaling trees to the heights they did. The team was incredibly thorough, cleared debris and left us with log length firewood for the rest of the season. We'd be confident in re-hiring the Treeman crew for future work.

I spent the morning calling the city 311 and pepco seeing if they would do it given safety issue - which they wouldn't seeing as it was in my back yard and only landed on phone lines. By 1pm on a Friday I had to find a tree service that could give me an estimate and do the work before the weekend. By sheer dumb luck I had seen their truck in the neighborhood (Tenleytown/AU Park DC) and taken a photo of it as we needed some tree work anyway. I've had mixed results calling other trucks I've seen working on other peoples homes but I called the number anyway. Within an hour I had William of Treeman out at our house who told me "to be honest you may be able to get the city to do it" - I told him we tried unsuccessfully but I appreciated the honesty. He said his crew was working in the area and could swing by later in the afternoon and quoted a very reasonable price compared to several sight-unseen estimates I had (from other companies, most of which said I would have to wait until Monday for even an estimate). We gave him the go ahead and by 4:30 we had the crew with cherry picker, chainsaws, and wood chipper in our alley. Mind you by then the summer evening storms had made a return and they were working in the rain. Nevertheless they were extremely careful in extricating the branch piece by piece from my neighbor's garage and using ropes to carefully guide each foot-wide segment over our stone patio below. Overall they did the entire branch removal in maybe 45 minutes. A nice touch was that they used a leaf blower to clean the roof as well. REALLY top notch service and a cut above the rest!!!!
